As expected, getting to the Isle of Thule turned out to be a huge pain in the ass. A Lander had offered to get her over safely to the island (yeah, right), but Capsule had not listened to reason and turned him down. She did not trust the boat at all, and the Lander even less. For all she knew, the man would just run off with her money, after selling her a piece of shit boat. She could drown of her own accord, thank you very much. Had she not been in such a hurry, Capsule might have considered taking the time to tame a sea critter to swim her across, but Aleksei, her Snowfield Bear, was more than suitable for the task.
The bear was filled with doubt at going along with this plan, but did not give her much lip. Capsule stripped down to her undergarments to keep the rest of her gear dry, and with her standardized Crystal Ball equipped and looming over her shoulder, climbed onto the thickly furred back of her polar bear. Poor Bosco would have to follow along behind, but Capsule had his leash secured tightly to his collar. He at least should not drown.
Cold, hard rain pelted their bodies as Aleksei swam off shore, and within seconds Capsule and the dog were soaked through to the bone. The polar bear seemed mostly unbothered by the storm, which was somewhat lighter than usual. Still, Capsule had to hold onto Aleksei for dear life, and a few times she was startled when the bear decided to dip down underwater to escape the turbulent wind and waves.
It felt like an eternity before they all tumbled onto shore, Aleksei gently shaking the moisture from his thick fur. Bosco shook himself several times, but only managed to get dry when Capsule rubbed him down with her Where Is The Download Button shirt. As for herself, she had to suffer being damp and shivering. Bosco was just your garden variety pup, and only level one, at that. If any of them should be concerned about getting sick, it was that poor little fella.
Using a now very wet t shirt, Capsule did her best to dry herself off. Her hair was perhaps the easiest part, since she could just wring it out and leave it to dry. It was everything else that was problematic. Still shivering, the woman reapplied her armor, and took a few shaky steps towards the thick of the island.
