[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]Dr. Ultima [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Franny Fitzgerald [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 26 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: Rebecca Miyamoto, PANI PONI DASH [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Franny [attr="class","bi2"]FACTION: Adventurer [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"] Dr. Ultima pretty well represents Franny's appearance in life proper, only fun-sized. Choosing very nearly the shortest height available to the Dwarven race, Dr. Ultima runs about 100cm which is close to roughly 3'2. Trademark charm points include a child-like rounded appearance, a full head of extremely long, vaguely unkempt messy blonde hair, and a pair of large, clear blue eyes. Dr. Ultima's face is extremely expressive which works well with her small animated body language. An explosive girl, her voice carries through the halls. Stylistically, Dr. Ultima has a fondness for an appearance based more upon the reality she has been torn from: skirts, shirts, sneakers, and a trademark Labcoat to complete her ensemble. One might typically find her with some form of gadget to tinker with.... for better or worse. To boldly go where no other has gone before, our bold explorer bleeds confidence in posture with a sense of gusto. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] Fun personified with a distinct lack of a sense of any worry, she is one to act with abandon. Introvert, Extrovert, Dr. Ultima seems to defy any easy placement and is just as well alone as among the crowds. Seemingly in love with the sound of her own voice, she can babel for what may seem like infinite lengths of time. Has a mature mind that chooses to self-indulge; she is capable of making the best of any situation and is apparently quite fearless in the tallying up of what might be the record for the most deaths so far among the greater Londonium population. Considering that many of these innumerable deaths were accidentally self-inflicted in one way or another, one can see that Dr. Ultima does not shy away from continuing to test the limits of her body and environment. To observers, our tiny doctor can seem to be in perpetual motion to the point that even in the quietest of moments, the gears in her head can still be heard spinning. Enthusiasm is Dr. Ultima's primary motivator and it might seem as though she has discovered an endless supply. Rarely one to curse her situation, the dwarven inventor is leading a personal crusade across the worlds of wonder. Log Horizion's self proclaimed, self stylized, Mad Scientist, her most surprising quality may be just how sane she truly is. Dr. Ultima can be a fantastic partner for the goal oriented adventurer, she is not a sensitive individual and would prefer to act on a sense of well honed instinct rather than logic or emotion. She is not a person who dwells on navels and would rather blaze ahead to test the limits and results of a situation. She abuses her endless retries with a sense of vigor and even pain does not seem to deter her to any great effect. Dr. Ultima can be self-centered but not so much in the arrogant sense; she just simply has a tendency toward nursed curiosities. When it comes to interacting with others, she would rather draw others into her own sphere through a natural gravity then play an away game. Even so, she is not opposed to going out of her element and may even at times enjoy being taken for a ride. While certainly self-absorbed this trait also comes with a reassurance toward the fact that Dr. Ultima would never ask of another something that she would be unwilling to do herself. Always fair she will return any favor and would be very unlikely to lie or withhold information maliciously. In spite of her shown disposition toward carelessness, there is a belied sense of ethics in her actions and she can safely be considered to lean toward the forces of the greater good. Nothing horrifies her more than the destruction of the irreplaceable, be they machine, book, or human lander. She takes immense displeasure in a lack of personal accountability. A rugged individualist, she is not one who can be expected to conform but has a very high tolerance for differences in opinion in order to make up for it. Franny even before the apocalypse has always at heart been a doer. She will always seek her own answer. Qualities: Blunt, Rough, Dramatically Inclined, Good Humored, Good Natured, Self-Possessed, Eccentric, Slum Elegant, Abrasive, Easy Going, Workaholic, Jaded Optimist, Loves Stuff. Notes: 1) She named herself after a combination of Dr. Doom and Ultima, the strongest Final Fantasy spell. 2) Some other influences she drew from included: Dr. Strangelove, Hakase, Professor Farnsworth, and various real life war scientists. 3) Her endgame goal has become the monopoly and exportation of Anima to Earth. 4) The true endboss of Log Horizon is her work ethic. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] In life, Franny really wasn't much of anyone aside from her own special being. After graduating high school she chose to work at a bookstore to help support her self-proclaimed bibliomania and gradually blew various paychecks in an expansion toward all kinds of other media. Her childhood was relatively uneventful; she is an only child still in pleasant contact with her parents who worry for her as any parents should. To outward appearances it may seem as though Franny Fitzgerald lacked ambition in life, but on the contrary, she simply figured out very quickly what it was that made her happy and how to maximize her enjoyment in the pursuit of it. When money became tight, she sought out various other part time jobs to help support her spending and as such has a very wide range of life experiences and an equally wide social circle of acquaintances. A workaholic, she can be rather insular off the clock and usually considers that 'me time'. Even so, she tends to be well regarded. Log Horizon was just one acquisition in her trove of treasures, and happened to be her first MMO. The raving reviews sold her on the product. Shorter in life and strangely proud of it, Franny chose the shortest dwarf height available to exaggerate those features she considered her charm points. A big fan of the occult pseudo-sciences as well as the systematic forms of spirituality such as the works of Carl Jung, Alchemy, Gnosticism, and The Kabbalah, it is her vaguely Christian belief that all human achievement is a subconscious effort to open a dialogue with God. A citizen of The United States and a original resident of that server, Dr. Ultima was a former member of a guild coalition called The Know Nothing Party, which was established by market manipulation through strong arming new crafters into a kind of forced union. Convinced by the coalition that crafter cooperation was a benefit to greater Big Apple and would help curtail gold-sellers, Dr. Ultima, a leading crafter with low power in the organization withheld her concerns and agreed to keep quiet. Becoming frustrated when the group adopted a trickle down theory and began to seek membership dues through market coercion, Dr. Ultima began to advocate for the disbandment of the group but was always met with strict contention by the strongest of the seniority. Frustrated, her breaking point occurred when she discovered that many members of The Know Nothing Party had begun to engage in RMT. Deciding to leak the inner workings of the organization through a document with records through a third party game news website, what she hadn't foreseen was the counter scheme she had made herself target for. Used as a scapegoat by the Know Nothings, she was reported to a GM using falsified documents that severely implicated her as the selfish corporate villain responsible for manipulating the in game economy against the allowances of the terms of use. Character seized and online reputation in tatters, Dr. Ultima had become the defacto leader of an evil organization within the public eye almost overnight. Disgusted with the overall situation, Franny quit the game. This did not stick however as when the new expansion to the game was set to launch, she found that her curiosity had gotten the better of her and she was already planning her fresh start on a fresh server with a fresh name which would leave her all but unrecognizable and free to enjoy the game as it was intended and not as a Machiavellian simulator. Things of of course did not go exactly according to plan. Nailed by the Apocalypse, and thus landing in Londonium, Dr. Ultima was left unaware of her situation. Franny was left to find herself in a strange city based upon a foreign land she had never once visited. Left without a choice, she began navigating the fresh spaces bit by bit. The overall situation likely bothers Franny less than it should. It just so happens that to her the nostalgia of a game she used to enjoy being so very much all around her and yet at the same time so strange and newly different excites her. There is much she would like to discover now that she has been given free range. To Dr. Ultima Elder Tale has become a prison, yes, but one that looks an awful lot like a theme park. Their research also gives them an advantage in fighting Artificial Life to deal an additional 10% damage. If [Equipment Mastery: Magical] is already learned through racial or class bonuses, Magitech damage increases by 10%. [attr="class","skill"]Busybody:The housekeeper can produce Level 1-5 items as though they were a Chef, Tailor, or Woodcrafter. If the housekeeper's crafting subclass is one of these classes, then they are able to craft items 5 levels higher than their crafting class's level. [attr="class","skill"]Heartbeat Healing: Tier I Skill. One of the Druid's signature healing spells, Heartbeat Healing is a spell that covers the target in a sparkling green light and delivers gradual HP regeneration to the target every few seconds. It is the primary and most potent spell of the healing core, with many other healing spells rotated in between. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds, a duration of 10 seconds, and triggers a global cooldown during its cast. [attr="class","skill"]Brilliant Prism:Tier I Skill. The Druid utilizes the power of water to create a large number of bubbles that float about in the air. These bubbles are then aligned in a way where they act as a sunlight-conducting lens, magnifying the light to create an intense beam which strikes the target for light-based damage. In the absence of sunlight, a light source that generates heat such as a flame can be used as a substitute, but the casting time will be lengthened by 2 seconds. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 20 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Lightning Fall:: Tier I Skill. The Druid raises their staff over their head and summons an electrical orb that generates chain lightning. The electricity generated from this orb travels toward the nearest opponent and then moves onto other targets if they are within 1 meter of the target. Additional targets affected by this attack are not aggroed. This skill has a casting time of 1.5 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. [attr="class","skill"]Left Hand: Apprentice Grimoire: A one-handed apprentice’s book of spells designed for novice mages, made out of cheap materials. Doesn’t particularly have too many pages, but it is better than nothing. If used by a magic class, you get the ability to shoot a basic magic attack with a range of 2 meters.
