Hm, right. I don't know how to word this, and it's like a suggestion, and I feel it's kinda presumptuous of me to say it but yeah DX
I've noticed that claims/files get piled up a lot, and a lot of things are actually just stagnating because not enough people are getting to them. I mean personally I don't care if I wait a bit, particularly on my profiles, since I have 4 characters now so I can just let the first time people go through first. But I know some people are impatient, and some might just want to leave because it takes too long to get anything done. Not that I'm saying staff is lazy or anything, I know you guys get busy and stuff, and I've been staff before so I also know how overwhelming everything gets.
I just think that maybe in the future, you guys could get someone with the specific job of clearing out AP, Profiles, and updating lists? Like that's all they do on staff; they don't really work in development or anything. Kind of like a site assistant, rather then a full on staff; so the kind of person that just helps staff clear out stuff that stockpiles easily, like AP claims. I've been on sites where there were a couple of staff groups, and two of these sites had 'staff in training' groups where the people were not staff, but were not normal members either. One of those was a system where you got points accord to your topics/posts, so it was very similar to the AP system we have here.
So more or less, they had this sub-group that would take care of it, and help the staff keep it clean. Staff could do it if they wanted to, but it was those people's only job to clear out that section. I'm not sure I explained it right, but yeah. I figured this might be a good idea, since it won't be like someone was promoted to actual staff, which requires trust, dedication, time and all that jazz, but rather just people that run through things that are numerous and tedious, and can suck a lot of the staff's time away. And maybe out of those people, you can even staff the ones you think are worthy in the end. I think this would help keep things getting cleared out fast enough, such as AP claims which are, in so far as I can tell, just making sure the claim itself is stable, adjusting the numbers on the profile fields, and moving it to the right section. (let me know if I've got that wrong tho)
