There was some news going around Londinium that caught Sayha’s attention. Both Landers and Adventurers started talking about new monsters that had been popping up all over the Unfounded Kingdom. And they all were Halloween Themed. It was October at that point so Sayha hadn’t been surprised; after all, there were usually holiday-themed events in most video games. What caught her attention the most was that she had heard that an abandoned and ruined castle up in Avon Valley had suddenly become haunted with higher leveled monsters. Sayha was level 28 by that point so she would be able to take care of herself most of the time. However, she did have her concerns. Since the huge train event was over and she didn’t know of any immediate plans he had, Sayha called Hiro to see if he would like to meet up with her and go hunting and check out the Avon Castle. Since Avon was a ways away and Sayha had only been in the region briefly, she thought that hunting the monsters in each zone along the way would be a good idea. After all, there was always a chance they would drop some special loot or gear that either one of them could use. Plus, any experience was good experience for her.
It was just before noon when Sayha arrived on the outskirts between Londinium and Windsor Greatwood. At that moment, Sayha was sitting cross legged on the ground in the shadow of the tree that she had her back against waiting for Hiro to arrive. She was watching the roads to see who all was coming and going. Also, Sayha had decided that it would be a good chance for her to get used to one of her newer abilities, <Hearing Aptitude>. At the moment, all she really could hear were roars and couldn’t make out words very well so she was concentrating on trying to pull one voice out of the crowd. It would be a good ability and skill to have if she were to need it in a pinch.

[attr="class","capsol"] Halloween themed monsters, huh? Sounded like a party to the Monk. Although, he'd be bringing his own method of partying, in that he likely wouldn't be using his fists as normal. No, instead, he wanted to get some practice in with both the katana he had, as well as a few of his guns. Feeling like it would do him some good to try get some good fighting in for this, he was going to alternate between the weapons he uses from time to time. This would be the perfect excuse to do so, since the Halloween event had begun. It was interesting to see that the event would be something along the lines of a hunt, though he had heard of a castle in Avon that was supposedly haunted. Immediately, he wanted to check it out, to verify if the place was actually haunted or not, since it sounded like a lovely thing to see for himself anyways. But, he hadn't decided to go there alone. No, no, he was meant to meet up with one of his newer recruits and close friend, Sayha, whom he supposed was already waiting for him somewhere along the road through Windsor.
Hiro had met Sayha a while back, and they had traveled together during the second part of the Celestial Arms quests. From there, their friendship had blossomed into what it is today. Having formed a real bond to the Assassin, Hiro enjoyed her company in a lot of things, and was proud to call her one of his guild-mates at this point. All that being said, he was looking forward to heading over to this haunted castle in Avon with her. Perhaps this would be something like a Haunted House venture, though with actual monsters? He didn't know, and he wouldn't know, until he found out later on whenever they would eventually get there. For now, the plan was to travel through the areas connecting London and Avon, and hunt monsters that they could find along the way. With the possibility for some rather nice loot and stuff, he figured that it would be a good chance for them both to level up a bit more. While Hiro didn't need the levels quite as much as Sayha, it was still something that sounded like a fun thing for them to do. Hey, if it meant getting some cool stuff along the way, then where was the problem with it? Hiro was all for it.
He still wasn't too used to having the katana on his back, but it was the only reasonable way to carry it. While he was walking along the road, he eventually saw the girl sitting in a cross-legged position, beneath the shade of a tree. Smiling, Hiro began to walk in her direction, raising a hand in greeting. Upon having gotten a bit closer, Hiro stopped and began to speak to her. "How's it goin'?" He asked, leaning to one side. The weapon on his back shifted over a little as he did. "You all set to do some ghost hunting?" Hiro was more than stoked for the day's likely events, since the end-goal would be the castle in Avon, which he was looking forward to the most. The possibilities of enemies along the way were numerous, and he had every reason to be excited. However, he wasn't sure if Sayha also felt the same way. Either way, this would be an opportunity for the two of them to deepen their friendship further, while also having the chance to kill some event monsters. Sounded like a good day to him, at least. While he was silently anticipating the beginning of their newest adventure, Hiro waited for the woman's reply to his questions.

While waiting for Hiro, Sayha thought back to when Sayha first met Hiro. She had been looking at getting some gear either for her level or for future levels when she ran into him. They had played a game of Hide and Seek then. Afterwards, Sayha had run into him again when she had been working on the second portion of the Celestial Arms Quest, and she was thankful to have run into him then because later on, she probably wouldn’t have stood a chance soloing the Genius of the past. They had also met up more often as well for another round of hide and seek as well as the big train event. Of course, she had ended up partying with other adventurers as well, but she really didn’t think she had formed a friendship with any of them yet. After a while and sighing, Sayha turned off <Hearing Aptitude> as it had started to give her a headache. It would be a skill to work on at another time. Almost right after she turned it off, she heard footsteps coming towards her, and she looked up to see Hiro. She smiled, standing up and brushing off any grass that was stuck on her. Then, she noticed he had a katana on his back.
“Hey, Hiro,” she greeted, “You going to be practicing your sword-play while we’re out?” She had seem use his katana before, but it was brief. However, she also knew that he had a gun he used which she thought was interesting. She remembered that he said that he had been training back in the Moon Dance Forest at the dojo for martial arts. Maybe he was getting in extra practice for that. She personally also used katanas, two of them. They, however, were attached to her belt instead of on her back which she thought was easier to have them. Though that came down to personal preference. However even though Hiro had it on his back, it seemed to be awkward for him. “You might want to try a hip sheath instead of a back… or even just holding the sheath.”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro shrugged a bit at her comment about the katana on his back. "Eh, it's not quite as bad as it seems." He admitted. He had carried it a few times beforehand, but she was right in that it felt weird to be holding a weapon on his back. As he thought about it more, he decided that perhaps he would ditch the whole sheath idea, and just carry the weapon in his hand. Moving his hand over to his back, he pulled the weapon out of its sheath, and opened his inventory to make it disappear. He then realized that he probably made it look like he was just doing what Sayha suggested, because he likely wouldn't have thought about it without her mentioning it. "Well... Maybe you had a point." Hiro same, with a chuckle afterwards. A few moments later, he started to twirl the katana in his hand for a little bit, to make sure that it felt the same no matter what he did with it. "In any case, I feel like doing a bit of training with other types of weapons regardless. Just to get the feel going for myself. Who knows when I'll have to use this outside of the dojo in a real fight, y'know?"
The chances of such things happening would likely be next to zero, unless he was bound by honor to use a sword at some point. This was the case because the Monk, being a Monk, would have access to his hands and feet at almost all times during combat, whether he was aided by another weapon or not. So it was mostly just for fun that he wanted to use other weaponry for the time being, since it wasn't often that he would be given a chance to fight some fairly low-leveled monsters. Despite this, though, he did enjoy fighting with his fists quite often, and would usually resort to just punching and kicking things, since he found that to be the most fun out of anything else. But change was always good. Anyways, he should focus again, and he stopped twirling the blade around. He was still a good enough distance from Sayha that she wouldn't be effected by the spinning blade at all, though it might have been a little intimidating. He positioned the weapon so that it was reverse-style in his hand, as he put his other hand on his hip, and looked off toward the road. "We've got quite a ways to travel, huh?" Hiro said, after a moment.
He turned to face the girl, a smile on his face again. "Well, why don't you take charge for this mission?" He asked. "After all, you invited me along, so perhaps this would give you a chance to be the lead. You might find it fun!" Hiro wanted to give her a chance at being a leader, since it was few and far between that he was asked to follow, not lead. As such, he would pile onto her a little bit, and see how she handled things, when in a position of power. He wasn't there when she had partaken in that one scouting mission to some school, so he wanted to see for himself. "Why don't you start off by telling me what we're gonna be fighting while we're here in Windsor? I'm sure there's different monsters here that need dispatching, but I'm not aware of what they are. Perhaps you could enlighten me, and keep me informed?" While he wanted to test her knowledge and research into the area, Hiro also didn't know what to expect for right now. It was part of a leader's job to do some looking into of things, just to make sure that they aren't going to be quite as surprised, and so they can keep the rest of the party up-to-date on things as well. That being the case, Hiro waited silently for the one whom he had appointed the leader for their two-man party to respond.

Hiro first replied that the back sheath wasn’t that bad but after a moment he took her advice and ditched the sheath altogether and just held the weapon in his hands. Hiro then explained what she had already guessed about the weapon. “I figured as much,” Sayha nodded at his explanation, “You’re max level so you can do whatever you see fit.” Sayha herself was new gear that she had just recently acquired so she was still getting used to it. After a moment, she pushed her jacket back and drew her two new katanas, giving them a twirl in her hands, “I have some new weapons that need to be practiced with. They’re a bit heavier than the starter katanas so it should be interesting.” Sayha sheathed her katanas for the time being, but let her jacket stay hooked on their sheaths so she could draw the blades easily when they went to fight.
Hiro then said that they had quite a way to go to get to Avon from Windsor which was true. Then, he suggested she take lead of the “mission” which made her smile. She had no problem taking charge. Hiro then asked by asking her what kind of monsters were in the area.
“Reports I’ve heard say pumpkin and jack’o’lantern Halloween monsters are in this area,” Sayha explained, “Since we’re in Windsor, the monsters here won’t exceed level 20 so they should be cake for both of us. I doubt we’ll see anything higher than 10 though since I don’t plan on going near the Castle since it’s kind of out of the way in my opinion.”
Sayha motioned for Hiro to follow her, and she set off towards the plains area of the Greatwoods. As she made her way, what caught her attention right away was the lack of regular beasts in the area. “That’s strange,” Sayha said, mostly to herself, “Usually we would have seen at least a pack of boars by now.” Almost immediately, she got her answer as to why.
Off to the side, Sayha noticed some pumpkins hopping around. Eventually, her interface told her that there was a Helio Jack level 8 and three Mini Jacks at levels 4, 3, and 5. Sayha quietly motioned towards them, drawing her katanas.
“<Death Stinger>,” Sayha whispered under her breath, putting poison on her blades. Turning to Hiro, “Let’s go.” Since the Jacks were lower leveled, Sayha didn’t see the need to ambush them at that moment so she simply activated <Silent Step> to walk closer to them. They seemed to notice, but they didn’t attack Sayha.
“<Quick Draw>,” Sayha said, jumping to the Helio Jack. She then slashed at the Mini Jacks to inflict her poison on them.

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro began to follow Sayha as she started to move up the road. She seemed more than willing to take up a leading position for this mission, which he was more than glad for. Hiro wanted her to give leading a shot, since he really wanted to see what it would have been like during that school dungeon raid he had heard about. He was a little sore that he hadn't been given an invitation to the party as well, but he decided against making a big deal about it. Though, for some reason, he had felt like he had been there the whole time. Strange, right? Anyways, Hiro perked up when Sayha mentioned that things seemed to be a bit too quiet for them. As if on cue, the Assassin noticed some monster nearby, and decided to go in for the strike. She went in and crept up close to them, and began her own attack on the monsters. Hiro, however, did not follow her up, as there was a bit of a bigger problem heading their way, that she likely didn't notice quite yet. A shadow had been lurking nearby, keeping itself quiet, and he was curious as to what it was.
Upon closer inspection, what had appeared to be a very grassy mound, turned out to be something that Hiro did not expect at all. It began to move a bit, still quite far in the distance from where they stood. "Uhh... Sayha." Hiro said, as the monster on the horizon began to move. "We may have a bit of a problem here." As soon as he had said this, the monster turned to look at them. Not good. Even worse, it started to move toward them slowly. After a few moments, it roared, sending an echoing noise across the valley. Though it was still quite far from them, the monster's howl could be heard quite well and for quite a ways off. As if summoned by the other monster, a second one of the same kind, though veritably smaller, began to appear, flying its way over. The first one then began to fly itself. Opening his eyes rather widely, Hiro turned back. "Looks like we may have a it of trouble coming our way!" Hiro steeled himself for the monsters that were approaching. Eventually, though, they got close enough to him that he could see the names of the beasts. Draco Zombies. The first one was level 45, and the second was 15. Hiro grunted, seeing these enemies up close. Both of them went to land before him, and on howled violently at him. He covered up his ears, as the sound was quite loud.
"Damn!" He shouted, after it was done. "You're a loud son of a bitch, aren't you!?" Bringing the katana before himself, he hit the trigger, as it extended out to become the Daikatana mode. These guys would be nothing to him, but the point was to fight everything that showed up, and have some decent fun while doing so. However, he knew that he couldn't let Sayha suddenly get attacked by both of the monsters, so he would focus on getting both of their hate for now. Activating Rafting Taunt, Hiro shouted his own challenge at the two dragons. "Dead men tell no tales! And... Well... Dragons count in that category, too!" Not his absolute best one-liner, but it was enough to gather their attention. Hiro turned back to Sayha, and was about to bark an order to her about fighting the Draco Zombies, but then he realized that that wouldn't be any kind of leader-like maneuver. So, instead, he grinned a little. "Okay, got their attention!" He yelled to the Assassin. "What'cha need me to do now?" Sure, he was putting her on the spot, but it was all for the sake of giving her a good chance to lead. Being asked what to do from a single point in time was quite difficult sometimes, despite this being a rather simple situation. Being a good soldier on the front lines for his party lead, Hiro held his ground, as the Draco Zombies growled and glared at him.

After Sayha had taken care of the Jacks, she felt the ground move. Then, she turned to see some sort of monster rise up out of nowhere. Hiro said they might have a bit of a problem. “Thank you, Captain Obvious,” Sahya rolled her eyes. After a moment a second monster appeared, and Sayha was able to see what they were: Draco Zombies. Both dragons roared, and Sayha was suddenly thankful that she didn’t have <Hearing Aptitude> on at that time or she might have fallen over from the sound. Sayha carefully studied the situation. The larger one was 45 with the smaller one being 15. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Hiro ready his sword, and Sayha quickly dashed over to him. Hiro activated a taunt and gave a really weird one-liner which made Sayha internally role her eyes. Hiro asked what the plan was, though she quickly realized that it was probably not what he was used to. Being level 90 and a tank he was probably used to giving the orders.
“Hiro, take care of the big one,” Sayha said, “I’ll take care of the 15 quickly and help you with the other one… though you may not need my help.” She nodded at him and quickly got herself ready. After activating <Hiding Entry>, she moved to be on the side of the smaller one. “<Fatal Ambush>,” Sayha said. It took her a few seconds to find its weak spot on its neck, but once she did, she ran at the Drake, hitting it critically. Thanks to the poison on her blades, it became poisoned. However, it didn’t do as much damage as she had hoped. She would just have to hit it as fast as she could, “<Accel Dance>.”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro smirked, a wide grin appearing on his face, as his temporary leader had given him the order he was looking for. "You got it, Boss." Hiro dashed a bit to the side, as Sayha had begun to attack the Draco Zombie that was below her level. Hiro figured that she would likely be able to kill all of the monsters that she had already aggro'd, as well as the monster she was just now fighting. He would need to drop the aggro on the second Draco Zombie, but that was neither here nor there. Hiro had a bit of a challenge ahead of him. He was well aware that he monster before himself had a resistance to physical attacks, since he had fought a few before in his time. How could he tell? Doesn't matter. He hoped to be able to lead the monster away from the Assassin, so she would not have to worry about a level 45 monster on her ass the entire time. Even if the Monk had had all the aggro, some of its abilities would likely still have a radius, so being hit by a level 45 attack might cause some more damage to her than it probably should, even if it's splash damage.
Either way, he had the monster's attention, which it wanted to prove a moment later. The monster used its [Hellfire] move, which spawned black flames that pelted against Hiro, dealing some rather decent fire and darkness damages. However, since he was a max-leveled Monk, the difference in HP from before to after the attack was minuscule. Hiro smirked, as the flames around him settled, and he brought the weapon out and to the side. Taking a step in that direction, Hiro sliced across, forcing his entire body in the opposite direction from there. He brought the sword up above his head, and chopped down onto it very quickly. The Dragon took the damage, though little for what it was, and reared its head back to bite at him. Dodging to the other side, Hiro brought the blade down onto its head once again, and made another horizontal slash against its eye. The monster reared back in pain, howling at him. He jumped back immediately, since he felt another attack coming his way. Instead, the monster decided to take up and into the air, looking down at the Monk. He used this time to run a bit further back.
While keeping his eye on the monster, he dashed away from Sayha and the remaining enemies. He likely had lost the aggro on the second dragon by this point, since it had probably been attacked by Sayha already. He then thought back to his training with the sword in his hands, and how the Elder had instructed him in the way of the village. The style was to attack only after having dodged or blocked another opponent's attack, effectively making it a counter-style martial art. Not many martial arts concerning the sword would go in such a direction, though it was very effective for what it was. Just as he finished this thought, though, the monster started to dive down and toward him, using its skill [Ghastly Dive]. Hiro activated his own skill, Eye of the Tiger to gain a burst of speed, and leap away from the impact zone, effectively dodging the area of impact. The Draco Zombie followed up with its move [Touchdown], and swept its tail across. Hiro jumped up and over the monster's attack, and brought the blade crashing down onto its back, stabbing into a bit of its flesh. He removed the weapon from its body, and vaulted back to a neutral place nearby the monster. Returning to an attack stance, Hiro stopped and waited for its next move. It didn't have a lot of HP remaining, despite its defenses, but it likely had one or two more tricks up its sleeve. Err, flesh.

As Sayha attacked the lower leveled Draco Zombie, she watched as its health dropped lower and lower. Once her <Accel Dance> had faded, she jumped back just in time for the Drake to attack with <Hellfire>. She did end up taking some damage but it was no big deal. However out of the corner of her eye, she saw to Mini Jacks use <Pumpkin Slam> on her which she easily dodged. She thought she had taken care of them already. Without any hesitation, Sayha quickly slashed them at the same time with <Deadly Dance>; after, the two disappeared into floating bubbles. After quickly checking to make sure that there were no more Jacks around, she returned her attention to the Drake. However, the Drake had already started flying in the air. That was never a good sign. Sayha quickly ducked as the Drake dived straight for her using <Ghastly Drive>. It then landed right behind her, using its <Touchdown> ability. Sayha was able to jump back to dodge the main brunt of the attack, but she felt her HP dropping slightly.
Sayha tumbled backwards but got back on her feet right away. The Drake was almost dead. It was time to finish it. “<Quick Draw>,” Sayha dashed for the target striking it once, “<Sword Rain Flurry>.” She stabbed it five more times in quick precession. The Drake’s health hit zero but it didn’t turn into bubbles right away. Instead it glowed with a black aura. In an instant, the black aura shot outward, and Sayha was sent backwards. After shaking off the damage, she looked over at Hiro. The Draco Zombie he was fighting was nearly dead.
“Be careful, Hiro!” Sayha called to him, “Their auras explode after they die!”

[attr="class","capsol"] The Draco Zombie lunged at him again, its mighty jaws snapping down powerfully. Hiro sidestepped the attack, and slashed a few times with the blade he held. He recoiled quickly, and the dragon spewed out some more [Hellfire] at him. The flames still didn't mean anything for the time being, and he dealt with it without having to move around any. The flames licked and flickered all around him, but he paid no mind to them. Running around to the other side, Hiro slashed again twice more. The dragon's health was now at a rather critical point, so Hiro decided that he would end it as quickly as it had begun. He planted the weapon into the head of the monster, stabbing down and into it. Jumping up high into the air, with the aid of Wyvern Kick, Hiro came crashing down powerfully onto the hilt of the blade, forcing it down and into its head further. While that had caused a bit of damage on himself, he still vaulted off of the monster, and waited for it to eventually explode into data, so he could go ahead and grab the sword as it fell. Or, well, that was the general plan.
That, however, wasn't going to be happening anytime soon, which he was confused about. The monster was still there, and he was curious as to why. He then heard Sayha shout something, and it had only just registered as the monster had exploded into a darkness wave. "Wha-" Hiro began, before he was sent flying back. He tumbled on the ground a few times, and eventually slid to a stop. Groaning a bit, he started to get back up, rubbing his back. "Man, that really kinda hurt." He said, noticing his HP had dropped down to about 85%. Still disgruntled, he walked over to his Daikatana, and picked it up. He hit the trigger to turn it back to normal, and flipped it around so he was carrying it reverse-style once again. He went to pat off his shoulder, a bit of dust having gotten onto it, as he walked back to the Assassin. He smiled at her as he got close enough. "Alright, not too bad, I don't think." His health had already begun regenerating, but even still, he didn't expect much of anything else that would appear and cause a real problem for himself. "You did alright, fighting all those monsters on your own. I mean, you're a higher level now than when we'd first met, but you still handled it pretty well." He tried to compliment her, and hoped that it would have come across as such. But, he knew that if he tried to save himself in the act, it would only seem slightly more offensive. So, he'd just follow up with a thumbs up. "Nice job." Hiro hoped that Sayha wouldn't think he was patronizing her. He was mostly trying to remove the crappy one-liner he had given by saying something at least a little less stupid as a result. Hopefully it worked.

Hiro quickly dispatched the Draco Zombie he had been fighting, though his sword had gotten blown out of his hand which made Sayha chuckle under her breath. She briefly checked her HP, she had been cut down to 80%. She would have to figure out how to dodge better… or somehow become fire resistant. Hiro walked over to her and said that she did a good job. “I forgot,” Sayha said, “You really haven’t seen me fight as my actual level… no, actually, you haven’t at all.” Sayha twirled her swords in her hands before sheathing them.
“Though… that Draco Zombie worries me,” Sayha said, looking around, “This is a lower-leveled zone. There shouldn’t be any monsters level 45 around here… or at least I wouldn’t think so. The Halloween events I’ve participated in on other games all kept things relatively close to how they were in the base game… well what I mean is that this is a low-level place… monsters here should max out at level 20… why is a level 45 walking around here?”
Sayha looked around again, and she didn’t see anything right away out of the ordinary, “We should probably check it out before we head to Sarum… I don’t like the idea of level 45’s fighting newbie levelers.”
With that, Sayha started walking towards the forest area of the Greatwoods. Maybe there would be a clue there… though she really didn’t want to go to the Castle if she didn’t need to. Hopefully there would be a clue sooner than that.

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro noticed how the girl's HP had dropped down a bit, down to about 80%. He figured as much would happen, since the monsters in this are weren't tough, but if they gathered up together, they could deal some serious damage. Mob mentality, and all that good stuff. That being said, though, Hiro twirled the katana around in his hand quickly, and rested it against his shoulder. He listened as the Assassin spoke of the monsters and the Draco Zombie's level, in this area. He agreed with her that it didn't make sense for a monster like that to be in this area, but a lot of things had changed since the server had become its own entity. He wondered what else might have been effected by this event, though this just meant hat he would need to get the castle in Avon sooner than they had anticipated, to see if there was any connection at all to it. Although, Sayha seemed to have another idea. She was curious about the monsters in the nearby forest, since they might be the same or similar levels as the Draco Zombie they had just fought. A sensible conclusion, one which Hiro followed her on.
As she started to move toward the forest, he continued to think. "Well, it might be because there's so many players of lower levels here." He started, saying what he had thought of. "It makes sense for predators to hunt on the same grounds as the weaker predators, so they could get food, right? So, if we think of Adventurers and Landers that are trying to level up as the same kind of thing, hunting lower leveled monsters, then it's just a different means to the same end." Probably a rather negative to think of, especially how he had said it, but it was the truth. The hunter can very easily become the hunted, given the other monster being stronger than the original hunters. He thought more about what hey could do, as the forest drew nearer. This was about when he had gotten an idea. "Perhaps what we could do is bait out some more of those Draco Zombies, if there's a bunch hanging around. Might do us some good to kill a few more of those, so the number of hunters would be lowered, even if only slightly." He would need to explain his thought processes, though, and figured that he would go ahead and use this time to do so, while they weren't in the forest quite yet.
"Basically, I'm thinking this." Hiro began. "We go in and hunt some more of the lower-leveled Halloween monsters, up to a point where another Draco Zombie notices and decides to come in for the kill. If need be, I'll ditch the sword. The safety of other people is far more important at the moment, given that we don't know who could be attacked. It could be Adventurers, or even some Landers that would be attacked. We're gonna have to do something to prevent people from being attacked." He stopped what he was saying, letting his idea sink in with Sayha. He then looked to her, and asked. "That sound like a plan to you?" As much as he wanted to go and check out hat Castle in Avon as quick as possible, since it interested him, he knew that they had to do something here, before someone gets seriously hurt or killed. But, since Sayha was the de-facto leader for this little escapade, he figured that he would run the idea by her. If she liked it, then awesome. If she didn't, then he would listen to whatever strategy she put forth, and likely go through with whatever she thought was best. I wasn't the place for a foot soldier to decide against the general. With the thoughts still in his mind, he decided that he would stay put, until his Commander, Sayha, made a decision.

After Hiro began to follow her and explain what he thought, and it unfortunately made sense. Instead of being the hunters, the adventurers were turning into prey. It reminded her of an anime tuned into a set of movies she had seen a while back, but she opted not to mention that. Hiro then gave an idea of how to draw out any other higher leveled monsters. “That does sound like a solid plan,” Sayha nodded, “It would be more efficient to draw any others out by going off on our own, but I don’t like the idea of me getting killed by a level 45 monster by myself. For now, let’s stick together and see if we can draw out any others. If we don’t draw any out after a while, we should go ahead and move on… though we should probably find some way of warning the lower leveled guys so that they don’t go off on their own and accidentally summon one of those things.”
Then another idea hit her, “I just realized something… If we do run into another one of those monsters, I can target it before it dies with <Eagle Track>. If it had been anywhere else we can follow it back and see where it’s been hiding… it may even lead us to Sarum… which makes me worry even more honestly.”
Sayha shook her head; she need to focus. “I’ll see if I can find anything with <Hearing Aptitude>. I’m still getting used to it, but it’s better than running around blind.” Sayha activated the skill and closed her eyes. In the distance she could hear things moving around but nothing was nearby. She waited a bit more, picking up on some cackling. She opened her eyes, turning off Hearing Aptitude. She nodded to Hiro for him to follow her, and she dashed off, making her way to where she had the noise.
It didn’t take long for the two of them to get to what Sayha had heard. Keeping still and quiet, Sayha stayed behind one of the trees. She saw two Flare Jacks and two Frost jacks. The two Frost Jacks were level 16 while the Flare Jacks were 17 and 19.
“Agro them first if you can,” Sayha said quietly to Hiro, “I’ll come in after you do.”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro followed Sayha as she continued on through the forest. Her ideas did make sense, and his eyes widened up a bit when she mentioned that the monsters may be coming from Sarum. That's right along what they wanted to go with, so that might be a very useful transition between the two areas. He fell silent a bit, letting his own devices go for the time being, and let Sayha focus on hearing the area around them. He walked more carefully, to make sure even his footsteps wouldn't abruptly cut off her thought processes and attempts to hearing. It was definitely nice to have someone who could use that skill, since he never really thought it would be very useful. All that being said, though, he thought about where the Draco Zombies had come from. The first one he had seen was definitely on the way from where Sarum had been, though he couldn't be sure. It was a long way to Sarum, and he figured that if they were going to go that way anyways, they might as well follow whatever leads they could. He waited a little bit longer for Sayha to finish listening for things.
It wasn't much longer afterward that she had opened her eyes back up, and nodded to the monk to follow. He did so, of course, as he would be a good soldier, following the leader. He then thought about how Sayha mentioned using Eagle Track to find where the monsters of higher levels were coming from, but it wouldn't help a whole lot if they didn't use their feet to move, and flew instead. Then again, if they had to be close, then they would need to have touched the ground at some point. Either way, he followed her, until they had come to a point where they would stop. It wasn't long at all that they had started running again until they stopped. That must have been the effective range that Sayha had. It was to be expected, for sure, but either way, he noticed the monsters just up ahead. Sayha had given Hiro the order to draw their attention, to which he grinned. Nodding as she had finished up her last bit of the command, Hiro picked the blade up off of his shoulder, and twirled it a few times. He didn't say anything from there, and just walked out and into the open, where the monsters were likely huddled around.
They eventually turned to see the monk standing there, a massive grin on his face. He activated Rafting Taunt, but didn't use it to shout anything. He leaned down towards the monsters, and spoke softly, though loud enough for them to hear. "You four are about to get wrecked." Hiro said, as the skill took effect. All of them started to attack him, all of them using their [Pumpkin Slam] ability, and then auto attacking from there, as Hiro's health wasn't dropping all that much. He stretched his arms up and into the air, and he let out a small grunt. Hopefully, this would be enough aggro. Figuring that it would do them the best amount of good, he figured that he would kill the two Frost Jacks. Hiro brought his arm that held the katana in his hand, he chopped it down and onto the first of the Frost Jacks, causing it to take a severe amount of damage in one hit. He then brought his arm back around, and sliced through the second one, landing a critical strike. Hiro then finished off the first one with another quick stab, and then vaulted backwards and turned around, so that the Flare Jacks would have their backs to Sayha. All he needed to do now was keep their attention, before they would be destroyed by the Assassin's sneak attack. Hiro waited for the moment that she would strike, bringing the sword up into a guarding position.

Hiro grinned at her directions to grab their attention, and Sayha smirked. Hiro then left the hiding spot and walked out into the open where the Jacks she had spotted were. Instead of yelling his taunt like he had last, he spoke a one-liner that was very cheesy that made Sayha roll her eyes. She deactivated <Hearing Aptitude> and unsheathed her blades. The four Jacks began to attack Hiro with their <Pumpkin Slam> ability, but he took it head on. She didn’t even think she saw his health move at all. “<Death Stinger>,” Sayha whispered, poisoning her blades. Hiro’s agro seemed to hold and thanks to his level, Hiro quickly dispatched of the Frost Jacks which left the Flare Jacks to her.
“<Fatal Ambush>,” Sayha charged her first attack and hit one of the Flare Jacks critically, “<Deadly Dance>.” Sayha slashed her blades in an X pattern and took care of the first Flare Jack and turned her attention to the other, “<Sword Rain Flurry>.” She stabbed her blade forward in quick precession ten times, though the monster wasn’t quite dead yet. “<Quick Draw>,” Sayha slashed the monster one last time before it exploded into bubbles.
Immediately after the bubbles, Sayha felt something wrap around her legs and saw that the same thing had happened to Hiro. Suddenly something shaped like a pumpkin was thrown in front of the two. After a few seconds, the vines around the two disappeared and the pumpkin exploded, sending Sayha backwards into a tree, her blades being knocked out of her hand.
After quickly looking around, another Jack came into view. It was called a Ripper Jack, and it was level 30. Sayha quickly picked up her weapons, getting ready to attack, but then she noticed glowing red eyes surrounding them. She was able to see 3 more Ripper Jacks all the same level as the first… and something that make the hair on the back of Sayha’s neck. It was a monster called Hypno-Thanatos, and it was level 50.
“Hiro, if you can agro them, do so,” Sayha said to Hiro quietly, “If you can’t, we need to run.”

[attr="class","capsol"] It seemed that Sayha's move had been executed quite perfectly, and she had managed to beat rush down the last two remaining Jacks that were there before them. The Jacks were done for, and things looked to be just fine. That was, however, until a vine had wrapped itself around Hiro's leg, as had one for Sayha. Looking down in shock and surprise, Hiro saw the vine, and tried to move. He couldn't obviously, and was forced to stay there as a pumpkin-shaped thing appeared before them. Unable to move, Hiro looked on in confusion, before the object exploded, sending both himself and Sayha back. His katana had fallen to the ground as a result, and it was there that a Ripper Jack had appeared, its pumpkin face smiling and laughing. A few others appeared after a moment, a group totaling up as four Ripper Jacks, and a Hypno-Thanatos, whatever that meant. All of this was circumstantial, though, as Sayha had given Hiro the order to attract their aggro. His eyes flicked over to the girl, as he rose up off of the ground. Something akin to a glare. Hiro was not pleased.
His attention shifted back to the monsters before himself, a scowl very apparent on his face. As the Monk finally stood up tall, facing the enemies that were now before them, he became increasingly angry. He was not a fan of being been thrown back so many times in one day, and absolutely did not want to deal with any more of this crap. He opened up his inventory, and grabbed a few healing tablets. He extended his hand out to Sayha, holding it out for her to grab. "Eat it." He said curtly. Whether she had taken the item or not wasn't his concern at the moment, as he practically threw the other one in his other hand into his mouth. His health having regenerated back to full, as would Sayha's if she ate the tablet that he had given her, he started to take a few steps forward. His body ignited with flame very soon after, having began Hellfire Drive. Rafting Taunt was still on cooldown for a few more seconds, so he would go about things a more direct way for now. Forget the sword. Nope, Hiro was definitely pissed off by this point, and considered beating the living daylights out of these undead monsters, even if he had to kill them again.
Hiro vanished for a moment, completely out of sight. The next, he was behind all the enemies, as his fist blasted into the ground. Tiger Echo Fist created a shockwave that sent all the enemies up into the air, leaving a deep impression on the ground. He was about to unleash a combo to destroy all of them immediately, but that wouldn't really solve much of anything, since he was sure that Sayha wanted a bit off of these guys, too. He would weaken them a good deal, though, since these monsters were all above her own level. Hiro launched himself off the ground, using Wyvern Kick to jump up high into the air. Once that was done, he flipped himself over, and proceeded to dive back down onto the ground. He used Buddhist Palm, a skill that would not only increase Sayha's attack and HP by 10%, bring the Ripper Jacks down to a safe number where she could kill them, and lower the resistance of the Hypno-Thanatos, but it would also help Hiro relieve all the pent up anger from the knockbacks from before. He could feel all of the anger rush out of him, as his palm connected with the ground. Vaulting himself back up to a standing position, he assumed Iron Defense and the Iron Rhino Stance, from which he would wait and absorb all the attacks from there, while Sayha finished up the rest of them. He hoped she would remember to use Eagle Track on at least one of them.

After Sayha had instructed Hiro, she saw a scowl appear on his face. At first she thought it was because of her, but that thought quickly disappeared when she saw that he was scowling at the enemies around them. After a brief moment, he pulled something out of his inventory and handed one to her. It was a healing tablet, and she ate it after Hiro told her. She watched as he at his, and she had a bad feeling that Hiro might have lost his temper which would be a first for her to see since he was usually calm and laid back. As soon as both their health lines were regenerated to full, Hiro activated his <Hell Drive> and began to glow fire which matched his attitude pretty well at that moment. He vanished and ended up behind where the enemies had all congregated, and he used <Tiger Echo Fist> on the ground, creating a shockwave and impression on the ground while the monsters were shot up into the sky. He then used <Wyvern Kick> that brought the Ripper Jacks to a fairly low HP. She would be able to kill them easily, and she used that point to start her attacks.
All of Sayha’s abilities were off cooldown so she was ready. “<Quick Draw>!” Sayha dashed forward to the nearest Jack and killed if off with that one attack. She turned to another one nearby, “<Deadly Dance>!” Her x slash killed another one. “<Accel Dance>!” she felt her attack speed increase and slashed at the remaining two Ripper Jacks. By the time all four of them exploded into bubbles, she was ready to fight the Hypno-Thanos. However, she didn’t want to kill it right away; besides, she doubted she could since it was a decent level above hers. “<Eagle Track>!” she targeted the Hypno-Thanos and saw everywhere it had walked. She was good to go.
“<Sword Rain Flurry>!” Sayha then began to stab the monster in quick precession… but she suddenly felt that something was off. She jumped back, but she felt her eyes getting heavy. She looked at her debuffs and realized she had been inflicted with sleep. She tried to say something but it was too late, and she felt the sleep quickly take her.

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro's rage had subsided by this point, as he realized that he had lost his temper a little bit there. Feeling embarrassed about the whole situation, he couldn't help but keep in the back of his mind that he would need to apologize for that soon enough. But, that would be later. For now, his health was up to a good standard, and he would continue hold the hate for a little while longer, while keeping his stances up. The idea was to keep being as tanky as possible so Sayha wouldn't have to worry about taking any hits. As he thought this, though, the Assassin had already begun to slice and dice her way through the Ripper Jacks. They were definitely pretty creepy, though, since they were basically like floating pumpkins with mouths, laughing, and had no physical bodies of their own. He was kind of glad that Sayha was taking care of them so quickly, and that she had swapped over to the Hypno-Thanatos so quickly afterward. That is, of course, until she took a quick strike, and then she started to wobble a bit. A moment later, the Assassin had fallen asleep.
"Sayha!!" Hiro shouted, though he was unable to get close enough to stop her from falling. His attention snapped directly toward the Hypno-Thanatos before him, as it had turned to face the girl now. It then started to use a skill, [Nightmare] on her. Hiro's anger resurfaced, and he cupped his hands together, to form a small ball in between them. He let it charge for just a moment, just as the monster was about to finish casting its own skill. Hiro launched his arms forward, performing the classic Hadouken-style attack, except the blast that flew from his hands was a deep, burning red. It emitted a powerful blast wave that had a constant channeling for roughly two seconds, almost literally vaporizing the Hypno-Thanatos within that time frame. The attack finally ceased after the amounted time, as Hiro had performed a highly modified Aura Dragon Punch, which used some of the power from Hellfire Drive to imbue within it an extra bit of damage, pertaining to light and fire damage. He could feel the mana by this point having sufficiently seeped out of him, and he felt physically exhausted.
But, this wasn't the time to be waiting around, doing nothing. He walked over next to where Sayha was now laying, looking at her. She seemed to be okay enough, though it looked like a bit of the [Nightmare] had connected, and she had lost a fair deal of health. He opened up his inventory once again, and pulled out another tablet for her to have. He figured that she would also appreciate having a bit of MP back as well, and pulled out two of his Greater MP Potions. One for himself, and one for Sayha, whenever she would wake up. He sat down a little ways away from her, and placed the potion next to her. Folding one leg up nearby himself to use as a make-shift armrest, he started to drink out of the potion that he had gotten himself. The whole ordeal had knocked him down a good 50% of his MP, since Monks generally don't have a very large MP pool to begin with, and that last attack combined all the skills he was using prior. As such, he remembered to deactivate both Iron Body and Iron Rhino Stance, as well as Hellfire Drive, and his body had returned to normal. Now, all he had to do was wait until Sayha would wake up, and tell him where the tracks lead off to. From there, they would be able to get closer to the source, which, if they were right, was somewhere in Sarum. But, he wouldn't know for sure, until she told him. He took another drink from the potion.

Sayha felt like her mind had been swarmed with birds. They were all flying around at the same time while being obnoxiously loud. After a few seconds, she remembered that she had been in combat. Her eyes shot open, and she sat up, looking around. There weren’t any enemies around, but she a saw a trail glowing yellow. Her <Eagle Track> was still active. Her swords were on the ground by her legs which she ignored for the time being. Also beside her sat a health tablet as well as a mana pot. She looked up to see Hiro sitting not too far away from her, and he was drinking his own mana pot. “I’m suddenly wishing I had long-range abilities,” Sayha sighed, rubbing the back of her head, slightly embarrassed, “Sorry about that, Hiro.” She assumed the items next to her were for her so she ate the tablet and drank the pot. She hadn’t realized that her mana had been almost completely depleted, and most of her health was gone… probably due to an attack that had happened while she was out.
When she was done, she grabbed her swords and stood up. “My <Eagle Track> worked,” she said, “If you’re ready to go, I can follow the trace.” Once Hiro was up and ready, Sayha started to follow the tracks. Instead of walking, she decided to run because she had no interest in more attacks from the area.
The tracks were a weaving bath, and she had to keep dodging tree trunks and the sort. She knew that Hiro would have no trouble keeping up so she went as fast as she could. After a while, the trails led to a clearing or so she thought. After a second look, Sayha realized that they had reached the edge of the Sarum Frontier
“You know, I hate being right,” Sayha said, turning to Hiro, “Let’s go.”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro was a bit more than relieved to see Sayha having woken up so quickly. He let out a little sigh of relief, followed by a little laugh when she wished she had long-ranged abilities. "No problem." Hiro said, in response to her apology. "Let me know if you want any guns." He said, smiling. "I can make some up for you whenever." He finished up the MP potion, having fully regenerated his mana by this point. Sayha had done the same with her own healing supplies that Hiro had given her, mostly glad that she was just okay for the moment. Eventually, though, she stood up, to which he followed suit. She then explained that she could see the path that lead away, using her Eagle Track skill, and she started to jog off in the direction. Hiro did the same, holding the katana in his hand reverse-style. He was more than capable of keeping up with the Assassin, since his speed was quite decent at this point in time. He liked having as much mobility as this, and loved being able to run around this much. He did notice, though, that Sayha seemed to be moving a lot faster herself. Might have something to do with her higher level and better equipment. It was nice to see that she was upgrading herself over time, as much as it was nice to see her getting stronger. Ever since their first adventure with the Celestial Arms quest line, he noticed how much she had been getting better at her class and such. A smile appeared on his face, as he thought about this a little more. She was getting stronger, and that's what a guild leader wanted to see in all his guild members.
The tracks, he figured, were not quite straight, as they had done a lot of twisting and turning. That being said, though, he still was able to kepe up. He kind of wished that he could see the tracks himself, but this was not the time for things like that. It didn't take them all that long to finally get to a point where there was a good deal of a clearing, and Sayha slowed down to a halt. She then admitted that she was not a fan of being right. He laughed a little bit, as she turned to face him. He would follow when she started to move again. "Just means more adventure, don't it?" He mentioned. That being the case, he never really apologized for having lost his temper a bit before, but that would come in time. It seemed like she was much more worried about their journey for now. He could tell that she was a little worried with all the things that would be coming up, and truthfully, so was he. If the monsters beforehand were as powerful as that, then he had nothing but fear for what was to come ahead. He worried, since he had no idea if there would be level 90's along the way. Given that the enemies they had fought already were as strong as they were, he could only hope that they would stay at around the level from before.
