Location One: The Jeweler's Shop. The sudden disappearances of many Landers within Londinium have put families and merchants on their guard. In response to the curfew, and out of fear, many merchants seal up their stores as tight as possible and return home as the sun begins to touch the horizon in the evening. Families keep their children within sight and never let the children wander too far anymore. When the sun sets, Londinium grows quiet except for the brave Adventurers. It has been suggested that Adventurers move in pairs by the Nobles, as some Adventurers have gone missing as well. However with the city in a defensive state, the Nobles believe that they will get nowhere unless they begin to seek out the kidnappers. In response, players have been summoned to the scenes of the kidnappings. The first scene is the first victim; a merchant Person of the Land by the name of Robert el’ Tulus. He is the son if Richard el’ Tulus and Margaret Windsor, both lower class nobles who left the city of Londinium for France many years ago. Robert stayed behind and took over his parent’s shop. The shop is a large jewelry and accessory store. The door has been closed by the Nobles and the entrances guarded, but by presenting a piece of paper given out by the Nobles themselves, one is given entrance. Inside nothing seems out of the ordinary at first glance. The glass cases are neatly positioned without their windows broken into and there is no sign of forced entry. The items along the walls (enchanted robes and various clothes) remain untouched and unmoved. However, those who are skilled with mana and know its scent can smell it in the air. Some may even be able to see it; traces of magic linger. Those who cannot sense it will feel a shortness of breath and the temperature may seem a little lower than normal. The trail leads to several locations; the main counter, the left side of the room where the robes are found, and to the backroom. Your task is to investigate the room and to find the clues. In this particular location, there are five. Find them and finish painting the picture. Due note that by investigating various places across the room, you may or may not get a response that will potentially guide you to the clue placed there. If there is no clue but you are investigating the zone, the EM will notify you so that you may continue. This portion requires EM intervention. As you wander around the room and search for clues, the EM will post in response to what you see, what happens when you perform an action, and may reveal something that you find. If you wish to point something out or draw an EM’s attention to an action, place an asterisk (*) in your post. The EM will respond as soon as possible. If other players post before your action is answered by the EM, do not respond and do not advance. If you do, you may lose your chance to find a clue. The EM will notify you in the thread with a tag as soon as possible. It is also suggested that if you wish to investigate an area of the location designated, cut off your post and end it when you are at the ‘searching’ portion. This will allow for a bit easier of a transition and will make more sense in-character ( i.e. if you investigate a blood spot, end your post at that. If you continue and walk away from the blood spot, that tells me that you weren’t interested in it for some reason and thus, I will not respond or may discount your finding of it). The party size allowed for this location is capped at 3. It is suggested that you bring along a Mage or an Alchemist. However, the first non-magical character will be given an Enchanted Monocle by one of the NPCs guarding the building. *Just to note that a position in the party cannot be saved by a tag. If you tag a player, they are not necessarily guaranteed to show up. If someone else posts before your ally posts and the party cap is reached, your ally will not be allowed into the event and it will be closed. This is open to the public, but it is open only to the quickest. In order to get the Monocle, your post must be more than 500 words and there may not be more than 200 words of dialogue. If you want the monocle, you must earn it. If you have earned it, the EM will post the NPC giving you the Monocle. Do not approach the NPC expecting the Monocle in any circumstance and do not include them giving you said Monocle in your post. Doing so will disqualify you automatically. To your character, the Monocle does not exist and you were never informed of its existence at all. The character who is given the Monocle automatically gets it added to their reward list, but they do not get to roll for any other items at the end of the event. If you meet the requirements to achieve the Monocle, you will be given it. You may not dodge it. However, it may be passed to another player once given out. Upon being passed, the other player cannot pass the Monocle and they also lose their ability to roll for rewards. Upon receiving the Monocle, you must make your decision to keep it or not in your next post. Think of this has a piece of lit dynamite. It can be useful to you in the event and increase your ability to complete the tasks, but it can become extremely dangerous to your health if used incorrectly. If no players reach the requirement to retrieve the Monocle, a player may be randomly selected to receive it. If you want it, get it. If you don't, be aware that you might get stuck with it. Be prepared for EM intervention at all times. Remember; he is not always on your side. RewardsDue to this being a competition event as well as a storyline event, Rewards will stack. What that means is that you will not receive your rewards until the absolute end of the storyline. Thus, they are always in danger of being lost, stolen, challenged, or simply take from you in general. However you also have a high chance of scoring big in the end. But how much will you gamble? To the event posted above, The Jeweler's, there are four possible endings. The ending your team achieves will determine your rewards. Perfect End: All clues are found. Your team will receive one Star Candy or an Item from the list below, a voucher, and a pass into the next thread. Completion End: Your team found the main clue that ultimately leads to the next section, but you did not find all of the clue. You receive a voucher and a pass into the next thread. Stall End: Your team did not find the main clue and cannot proceed normally into the next section. You receive a voucher and a pass into a secondary thread. Your items will be up for grabs here, be wary of how you proceed. Failure End: Your team did not find any clues, did not find the main clue, or simply failed to find enough information at the provided scene. You lose. Thanks for playing! Once the scene above is completed and an End is reached, participants will roll for rewards if applicable. All participants may receive one of the following: STAR CANDY CANE RAPIER STAR CANDY LOLLIPOP MACE STAR CANDY PIXIE STICK STAR CANDY LICORICE CUTTER STAR CANDY CORN BLADE STAR CANDY JELLYBEAN KNUCKLE STAR CANDY GUMDROP SHIELD STAR CANDY JAWBREAKER STAR CANDY PEZ SHOTGUNMasked Plushie - A plushie which resembles a strange and unknown figure that has recently been terrorizing Londinium. The plushie is a white little critter with a black shirt and black pants. It wears a dark red hooded cloak and has a white mask that covers its face. The eyes are as dark and empty as a lightless room and the mouth is thin with stitches across it. Enchanted Monocle - A monocle that has been enchanted by the Person of the Land, Theodore Rasenwald. By wearing the monocle, one can see the traces of magic in the world even if they aren't a mage or an Alchemist. However, after wearing the monocle for a long period of time, your eye will begin to strain. Wear it too long and you may go blind. Enchanted Ring - A simple gold ring with a set of three sapphire jewels nestled into its width. The center jewel is slightly larger than the other two. When this ring is near any sort of mana source or is placed near traces of mana, the jewels will begin to glow. The stronger the mana source, the brighter the glow. Vanity Voucher - One voucher for any kind of vanity accessory made by the Funeral Parlor. The maximum level of the vanity item will match your level, unless you are above the level of twenty. If so, it will be level twenty. The description for this item is free, should you choose to leave its description to the crafter. Parlor Voucher - A voucher for the store, the Funeral Parlor. By placing this voucher in the sign-in book at the Funeral Parlor store, you will find that the cost of your items is lower than normal. Show this voucher and you may take a percentage off of one batch of items at the Funeral Parlor (maximum of 4). This voucher also allows you to get one free vanity item below the level of twenty, and pays for the fee of all custom item descriptions in your purchase. If the item is below the level of 30, it will be free. If the item is between the levels of 31 - 50, take 50% off. If the item is between 51 - 70, take 25% off. If the item is between 71 - 90, take 15% off. If the item is above 90, then this voucher is not applicable. Sorry! A merchant has to make money somewhere!

Sayha never really cared for Halloween. The only thing the day usually signified to her were in-game special events like going Trick or Treating to various inns or fighting Halloween Themed monsters like she had been. Since the Halloween Event started, things in Londinium had become to get… odd. If odd was the right word. Spooky wasn’t either. Maybe eerie?
After taking a break from hunting floating pumpkins, Sayha was wandering the streets of Londinium, hoping to hear about some news. However, the news that she learned of was not what she had hoped for.
She had heard some Landers whispering among themselves. They had been talking about how many other Landers were suddenly disappearing. They were within the city limits so they weren’t getting killed… unless they were being dragged outside the city limits. However, that most likely would have caught someone’s attention.
Sayha thought back to what had been happening the last few weeks. She recalled that a few people had disappeared but waved it off as she heard that it might have been a prank of sorts. After all, it was getting close to Halloween even though October had just barely begun. She heard about more and more people disappearing, but there wasn’t much she could do at that time as she had her own things she needed to do. Of course there was always the option that it was part of some sort of planned event. However after the curfew for Landers was set, Sayha knew something was seriously wrong.
After overhearing the Landers talk about another disappearance, Sayha knew that she needed to do something. She started to trace the tracks of the rumors on foot, and that took much longer than she had expected. However, she eventually learned that the very first victim to go missing was a man by the name of Robert el’ Tulus, one of the lower nobles that lived in Londinium.
The first thing Sayha thought was that the victim seemed odd to her. Granted nobles were the Landers that had money, but there had never been any sort of ransom demand or anything along those lines. She had to dig deeper.
After going through archives and talking to many other officials, she found out that el’ Tulus was the son of Richard el’ Tulus and Margret Windsor. Despite being lower-ranked nobles, the two parents left Londinium for France, which to her knowledge was not reachable by adventurers. The el’ Tulus son had stayed behind to keep the shop the parents owned running. It was some sort of jewelry shop. Sayha wasn’t able to determine anything else about el’ Tulus which was well enough. She heard that adventurers had been summoned to go to the victims last known whereabouts, and Sayha thought that it would be a good idea to check it out. After that, she called her guild leader and friend Hiro to let him know what was going on. Hopefully, he would be able to meet up with her at the jewelry shop.

[attr="class","solcap"] For some unknown reason, Landers were disappearing left and right. The alleged villain behind all of this was simply known as the Masked Man. He had a taste for snatching up Landers in the wee hours of the night, when they were either snug in their beds or walking home after a hard day. It was a rude awakening for sure, and no one deserved such a thing. Landers were actually people now, and like any Adventurer, they had a right to privacy and should be left to their own devices. Treating their lives like a game was simply unacceptable. And now the nobles were asking for assistance from Adventurers. Capsule had a horrible feeling -- no, she was almost positive, that the Masked Man was one of her lot. It would do nothing to alleviate the racial tensions between Landers and Adventurers, though hopefully they would not all be held responsible for the misdeeds of one.
Capsule was interested in helping out, as well. From what she had heard, this was apparently not the first time the man had made himself known. On the last occasion, he robbed a market stand and was able to get away. With her binding skills, Capsule was confident that she could chain the bandit down. How hard could it possibly be? Oddly enough, the area she was assigned to search was a jewelry shop. What she could expect to find, the woman had no clue. All she knew that that her curiosity needed to be sated.
Outside of the shop were a few Adventurers, though the Enchanter had no reason to stop and offer idle chit chat or gossip. Small talk was a waste of time, and all of that energy could be expended where it was needed: investigating the incident. She lightly inclined her head at the group before addressing the guard stationed at the door. It was a crime scene, so his suspicion and surly demeanor was only to be expected. Robert el’ Tulus was a somewhat relevant Lander; his disappearance was not something that you could simply sweep under the rug.
As she stepped into the store, Capsule could not help but feel like a bull in a China shop. Well-coordinated and sure of foot, she felt no actual concern about bumping into things. Rather, she was just nervous in general about the whole affair. The clues she needed were vital, leaving little to no room for error. The guard who had thoroughly checked her invitation for any signs of forgery would not hesitate to throw her back out onto the Halloween themed streets.
Inside, there was a collection of closed display cases, none of which had been molested by the Masked Man. As far as she could see, there was no sign of a struggle, either. This was very curious, indeed… The unmistakable scent of mana and magic was present in this room. The trails were so strong that she could almost taste them. They led somewhere near the back of the building. Her first instinct was to follow her nose, but it seemed only prudent to wait for more investigators before going off on her own. That was how people died in horror films. [attr="class","capsol"] Something is rotten in the state of Londinium. Something bad, and Hiro had no intention of letting it go unnoticed. He'd heard the rumors of there being some kind of commotion, involving disappearances, and he had to get to the bottom of it. He had been following a few rumors around, and decided that he would take up whatever leads he could. Not usually a subject that the Monk cared for, but the number of disappearing people in the town seemed to be alarming enough that the Landers had initiated a curfew of sorts, so as to keep children from the mysteries that would befall them, should they wander out far too long at night. As much as he wanted to have someone else take care of it, thanks to his usually lazy attitude about a few things, he had been informed that even some Adventurers would be in trouble. Some of them had already disappeared, as far as he had heard, which warranted an explanation. Why would Adventurers be targeted, too? Was the a connection between the Adventurers, and the Landers who had gone missing? Was there some kind of a secret link behind it all?
Hiro had no answers, so he was going to find some. Obviously, he needed to follow whatever rumors he could. That, or he could have waited until Sayha had messaged him about the whole thing. He was curious enough, too, that he wanted to go and find whatever answers he could. That being the case, though, if Sayha was interested enough in it all happening, then perhaps he might as well accompany her in whatever investigation she was going to pursue. He figured, though, that there would have been some kind of important place that would have been broken into, but the only thing he had heard about was a jewelry store, where something had gone down. The information itself was rather vague, and didn't explain much of anything. Even still, he went. He recalled a rumor about this Robert 'el Tulus lad, though he didn't have much more information beyond that. Perhaps he would find out more, once he got there.
Upon reaching the building, he noticed a few of the guards standing by, while a few Adventurers had also gathered. He noticed a white-haired female head into the building just a little before him, and he wondered what exactly people were doing, just standing around and looking. Hiro, however, had had the fortune to run into an important individual, who had given him a method to enter without much of a problem. Just as he walked up, though, he noticed the Assassin whom had invited him along on this escapade. Hiro walked up next to her, and looked at the building. "Hey Sayha." He said, without showing much emotion. "Looks like a bit of trouble inside, huh?" Hiro wanted to get inside whenever he possibly could, and started to walk up to the guard. Handing him a piece of paper which he had been given by said previously important figure, he was allowed in. Hopefully, Sayha had had her own method of getting in, since the 'invitation' was just for him. Upon entering the building, though, he noticed the white-haired person that he had seen before. "Oh, hey Capsule." He spoke, stopping a little into the building. "You here to check things out, too?" If Capsule was here, then perhaps the three of them could solve whatever was going on.

When Sayha had arrived at the Jewelry Shop, she saw that someone had already arrived before her. Instead of greeting them right away, Sayha waited for Hiro outside the job. It didn’t take long for Hiro to arrive, and he greeted her solemnly. Sayha nodded in response. He asked if it looked like trouble inside, but she hadn’t looked inside quite yet. She didn’t say anything and followed Hiro into the shop after showing the paper she had acquired from the nobles while doing her initial investigation. Hiro recognized the person inside immediately as Capsule and once Sayha saw, she too recognized her. They had had brief encounters in the past, first when Hiro had hosted the Guild Leaders meeting regarding the trains and again when Sayha had been asked to lead a team through the Decrepit School Dungeon in Windsor Greatwood.
Sayha then looked around, absorbing as much information as she could. It was definitely a jewelry shop as it looked exactly like the ones she had been in on the other side. It wasn’t a huge shop, but most of it seemed to have glass display cases that were untouched as well as the clothing that was also in the store. The windows weren’t broken in, and the door didn’t look like it was damaged.
Sayha looked around using her <Mythic Script> ability she had thanks to being a Scribe, but she didn’t see any traces of writing out in the open for the time being.
“I think the most out of the place thing is that there isn’t anything out of the place,” Sayha said, “I don’t see any writing anywhere in either regular methods or mana. Are you guys able to pick up anything particular or should we just examine the entire place?”

[attr="class","solcap"] Having been in this room for a few good minutes now, Capsule began to distinguish two separate trails from the one she detected in the beginning. One mana trail led over to the main counter, where a fight may have broken out – or an attempt by Tulus to fight off the Masked Man. Another trail snaked out from the section of the room where the robes were stored. Capsule could think of no reason why the Masked Man would leave a trail there. He could have tried to steal them, but they were locked with a magic spell…? Or someone blindly casted magic missile into the darkness? What if it was just Magic Light being used to light the place after he cut the lights? What if…
Several scenarios ran through her head. Just as her ideas were erring along the lines of absurdity, the front door opened. At the sound of a familiar voice, Capsule turned her head around. There was Hiro, stopping short near the front door. She was honestly surprised to see him here. The girl trailing after him? Not so much. She had only seen them together twice so far, but could not help but feel that the two of them were inseparable. If this became a reoccurring theme, she would certainly believe it. It would be Caer and Kumori all over again. "Yeah. I was just about to check something out."
Capsule shook her head at Sayha, who had scanned the joint with Mythic Script. It was not exactly a waste of effort, but... "I doubt you would find any writing of importance, other than something left to mock us." There were a lot of Scribe users, and a decent amount of people with the mana writing skill. It seemed too risky for the Masked Man to leave anything that would greatly incriminate himself.
"I cannot see anything out of the ordinary, but I can smell it. There are mana signatures all over this room, though they are strongest in three places: the counter, the backroom, and other there." She pointed towards the left side of the room, where the robes were. Neither the robes nor the counter could hold her interest as much as the trail coming from the back of the store. Perhaps that was where the Masked Man made his big escape? Running out of the front door was too obvious, and the odds of bumping into a witness was great. The back way was sneakier… and maybe, just maybe, there was something that Tulus was trying to hide. There might even be more to this than she originally thought.
The Enchanter took a step towards the backroom, eyes aglow. "I am going to check out the trail that leads into the back. You two can scope out this room." Hopefully they would not take this time to make out or do whatever hormonal teenagers did when they were left to their own devices. Not waiting for a response, Capsule followed the trail into the backroom and stopped to search for clues. [attr="class","capsol"] Hiro had begun to look around the room himself. Sayha had made a good point, in that there wasn't much out of place. Though, if Capsule said that one of three places were of interest, then perhaps it was worth taking her advice to note. Since he didn't have the capacity to be able to sense magic of any type, he would have to rely on the others' for their skills. He was mostly there for doing some heavy lifting, in case it was needed, but also to find out some of the answers to this whole crime situation. If it kept people from being in trouble, then he figured he might as well try his hand at what he's got. That being the case, he realized that he didn't really know all that much about the person in question. As per Capsule's thoughts, Hiro walked over to the counter, and started to look over a few things. The first of which being an article about the store from a nearby Lander newspaper, to keep everybody in the know about what went on within the confines of the city fair. He would peruse a bit of it, and see if he could find much of anything out.
Based on the article, which was fairly recent, there was a little bit about the Tulus fellow. It read that the young man, Robert el' Tulus, was a child of some other nobles who had moved away quite some time ago. The young man had taken over the shop, referencing the Jewelry Store that the three found themselves in, and continued with the business. It mentioned nothing about how or why the man had stayed behind to take over the business, nor did it explain much of anything else about the parents. Could they possibly be connected? Reading further into the article made it seem much more like product placement than anything to really go off of for the moment, nor did it even mention the parents' names. This article seemed to be almost entirely about Robert, which furthered the idea that it was all product placement. Hiro scoffed a bit, and put the paper down. As he did, he made sure to put it back on the same spot that he had put it before. With that having been taken care of for now, and having answered nothing at all about any of the questions he may have had, he continued to look around.
The counter itself seemed to be rather plain, and, much like the rest of the place, had shown no signs of being tampered with. That being said, though, he recalled how Capsule had mentioned that there was some sort of a trail that led to the counter, and he was willing to go off of whatever the Enchantress said could have been a lead. As such, Hiro took a few steps back, to look in and around the counter, to see if he could find anything worthy of note.*

The air of the jewelry shop was one that tempted the visitors into its walls. The lingering presence of the culprit was strong, so strong that it nearly repelled time itself. The three who walked through the shop’s doors started the clock again, and life seemed to return. In the far corners of the building, the three would hear quiet whispers of life but would see no faces. They would feel the cold touches of those who had passed through before, but would see no hands. It was an eerie scene to behold, but one which contained everything that would guide them forward. The Enchantress, her eyes of magic and her mind of questions, did not linger for long as she observed the room and took in everything the room would allow. The Monk, the guardian for the others, seemed to lack the tools required for seeking his answers. The Assassin? She seemed here on but a whim but her missing of the first step would cost her. Capsule: Briefly, the three lingered by the doorway before the Enchantress had enough of the idleness. She took the lead, as well as one of the paths of magic. She wandered into the back room, separating herself from the other two. It was strange, to go alone, but the lingering mist of minds long gone were tempting. The room she would stumble into would be large, slightly larger than a normal storeroom that one would expect of a jeweler. Its walls would be wide and tall, but the area would be cluttered. Shelves and storages bins full of tools and product would be mixed together. However, the mana trail was not so confused. It was focused and would lead straight through the room, weaving and winding between the shelves all the way to the absolute far back right corner. There a desk would be waiting. The mana trail would stop, cut off, and vanish without a trace here. There would be no leading back and there would be no leading forward. The desk would look organized without anything out of place. In its drawers were tools the jeweler used for fixing and adjusting, but the desk would seem a bit larger than the drawers showed. On the right side of the desk, there was a small handprint in the dust there. In the storeroom, a faint giggling could be heard. It was so quiet that only on who focused on it would hear it. Hirosame: In the main room, the Monk took his own initiative and strode forth to the main counter; a bold move and one expected of the red haired fighter. On it he would indeed find an article that explained a bit of who the owner was, but it was not placed there for something he may have thought. No that was instead a clue. Upon reading its text, the Monk would begin to hear a voice in his mind; an unknown spell was triggered by his eyes that caused him to begin to hallucinate. “Who are you?” A man’s voice would whisper, and the text in the paper would illuminate slightly; Robert. “What do you want? My mother? What does she have to do with this?!” The voice would fade in and out of existence and a sharp pain would follow the key words; want, mother, she, this….“Sacrifice? I have no idea what you’re—NO! WAIT!” The voice would pulse once more, but then silence… Like a long, lost echo, the voice would suddenly fade. A moment later, the words on the paper would begin to blur until the ink in its pages became indistinguishable. The monk would hear a soft laughter echo from behind him, as if there was someone standing right behind him… At that same moment, one of the guards whom had entered the premises, would tap the man on the shoulder and call out to him. “Excuse me, Sir. I have been instructed to give you this.” The guard held a small monocle in his hand, presenting it to the monk. However, after the spell’s effect, how the Monk would react to the sudden touch was unknown…
@shadowsaiph The Assassin, having done nothing, would find nothing. Carry on.

After Capsule explained there were three trails, Capsule went to the trail in the back and Hiro went to the counter. Which left the robes for Sayha to check, and she was fine with that. Sayha watched as the other two began searching as she went over to the left wall. There was something… off about the entire situation. The thing that confused her the most were the mana trails around the room. They were deliberate or at least they felt deliberate. Was the person who kidnapped the jeweler taunting them or playing games? Also, what was his motive? Sayha did a quick check over the robes to see if anything was out of place. The robes seemed to be more extravagant than any she had seen before. She then thought back to the fact that the store was mostly a jewelry store. Why were there coats?
Sayha checked the robes for any pockets thoroughly and checked inside any pockets she found. Once she was done, she looked carefully along the back wall behind the robes. Capsule had said that there wouldn’t be anything obvious to see with Mythic Script, but maybe there was some sort of message hidden somewhere. Sayha was determined to find something to help the three of them to find who was behind the act.
After a thought, Sayha thought she might not be thorough enough just checking the pockets so she did a one-over on every single coat and other clothing piece that was on the wall. She had to find something.

[attr="class","solcap"] Capsule, so entranced by the mana trail before her, disregarded everything else. She had no idea what, but she was definitely onto something good here. If the others could see her eyes right now, the crimson orbs would be wide eyed and glistening with fascination. And then they might do a double take when those eyes suddenly narrowed into determined slits, radiating murderous intent, lips curled back in a silent snarl.
Like a wolf, Capsule was in for the kill.
The prey she sought was somewhere in this store room. It was larger than one would expect for a jewelry store, but was an obstacle she could easily overcome, thanks to the strong trail she was following. It was a very straightforward one, with no deviations as far as she could tell. She wove around a small maze of shelves and boxes, all the way to the far back right of the room.
At the discovery of a simple desk, her trail went cold. Is this what she was intended to find? Unlike the rest of the room, the desk was neatly organized, or as close as it could get, anyway. There was a layer of dust on it, which made the small handprint easy to spot. Winner winner, chicken dinner!
As she reached out to pry one of the drawers open, that predatory look on her countenance abated for several seconds. Giggling. She had to focus on the sound to hear it properly, and the swiftly toggled on Hearing Aptitude confirmed it. They were not alone in this building. Where...?
With the hearing skill still toggled on, Capsule warily tugged on one of the drawer handles. The mana trail had stopped here for a reason, and there was a handprint as evidence. Investigating further was necessary. There it was again! That damn giggling. Capsule did not like it one bit, nor could she afford to ignore it.
Jaw set in a firm line, Capsule stepped away from the desk and the half opened drawer. The desk would have to be investigated after the perpetrator was apprehended. It was hard to tell in this clutter of junk, but... Like a snake, Capsule pounced. She casted Astral Bind in the direction of the giggles. If this was the culprit or their accomplice, she could not allow them to escape. "Guys, there is someone back here." Assuming she missed the serial giggler, Hiro or Sayha could cut their retreat off, and corner them here in this room. [attr="class","capsol"] Hiro could hear a few voices, after having read through the article on the desk. A few of the words seemed to have stood out for some reason, causing a pain to appear in his head. The pain seemed to intensify only during certain words, and said words had appeared on the article again. Hiro's head began to pulse, as he leaned on the counter. He brought one hand up to his head, as the pain had worsened once again, and then let out an audible grunt when the last one had struck. Those words were engraved into his mind. Whatever happened here, it involved the man's mother in some way, shape, or form. But, what? Why? What connection was there? That didn't matter right now. What did matter, though, was that there was some sort of a lead. This would have been connected to the family, through the mother, and then something about a sacrifice. When the text on the paper had light up, the word 'Robert' was also highlighted, or something akin to that. Did that mean that the voice he'd heard was the same as the man who owned the store?
His thoughts were interrupted quickly, by a hand being placed on his shoulder. Spinning around quickly, he saw one of the guards standing there, holding out a small monocle. Hiro let out a sigh, as he was just about to punch the guy straight in the face, had he not recognized him as one of the guards from outside. He took the small looking glass, and spoke to the man. "Thank you." He said curtly. Looking at the item, he formed a few questions in his mind. Why was he being given this item? He turned to face the guard again, and asked. "What is this for, exactly? I'm confused as to why I would be given such a thing." In the meantime, he noticed that Sayha was off looking at the coats and clothing on the side. However, his train of thought was again interrupted when he heard a commotion from inside the back room.
Capsule's voice had called out, saying that someone else was here. All the clues here could wait, if there was a suspect still within the building. Hiro rushed over and into the back room, standing at the doorway to block off any sort of retreat, should anything decide to run off that way. He wasn't able to do much else, except for that, since any combat in the city would result in the Royal Guards showing up. He knew that this was likely a trick of some sort, but it didn't make sense to let something like this pass him by. He stood ready to grab anyone or any thing that passed by him, having placed the small monocle in his inventory for safe keeping. He waited for the next thing to happen.

In the universe, there is thought to be thin threads which separate the dead from the living, the alternate from the real, the dream from the truth. These threads bind us into infinity and define our perceptions. They give us light, life, and bring us into the universe just as quickly as they take us from it. Sometimes, however, these threads wind out of place and universes cross paths. Many times like this, casualties are pushed from one reality to the next and become stranded, unable to return to their own home. We define these beings as ‘Ghosts’… I define them as Lost.
@shadowsaiph The Assassin in the party of three stepped forth, finally, and headed for the wall of robes. Yes indeed, it was out of place for such things to exist in a jewelry store and yet here they hung. At first her mind focused on the coats themselves and though she questioned their existence, her brain honed in on the ideal that something was inside of them. Her fingers drifted from pocket to pocket, patting and searching them for something of value. However she would find nothing within their linings aside for lint. The coats, made of a quality which neared perfection, hung like trophies in front of the Assassin as her hands tore through their innocence as if wanting something to appear. Nothing did, to her potential dismay, and as her eyes shifted from the coats themselves to the wall. Upon doing so she was blocked once more. The fine coats hid nothing behind them, and nothing in them, a strange problem. Their high quality, and intricate designs, reflected that of someone who may have traveled some long distance. Maybe one should look at the coats themselves for more answers… Capsule, HirosameIn the other room, the Enchantress followed the mana trail like a fox hunting a rabbit, but was she truly the hunter? Or the hunted? She followed the trail without so much as scanning the room, weaving after it straight back into the corner. As expected, she immediately began to investigate the desk. Though just as she checked it, her attention was drawn elsewhere… She tried to focus on the noise but it was not easy. Ultimately, it got the better of her. The trap was sprung. The Enchantress turned and cast a spell in the direction of the giggling, but just as she did it the voice would disappear, for only a moment. She called for aid and just after her voice ended, the drawer she pulled open slammed shut. A book fell off a distant shelf and a box was flipped over. The giggling returned, but it was short. “Papa doesn’t like intruders.” A voice came from Capsule’s lower left, as if there was a small child beside her, but upon investigating, there would be nothing there. Suddenly, a book flew across the room, aimed at Hirosame in the doorway. It came like a rocket and shot off the shelf directly across the room from where he stood. Beside Capsule, the same drawer she had opened and that had closed on its own reopened. This time, however, it was yanked off its railed and ripped from the desk itself. As time went on more books were pulled from their shelves, more boxes were tipped over, and even the shelves began to quake. The desk at Capsule’s back remained undisturbed beyond that point however; the secrets it contained may only be available for a short amount of time. The giggling returned and the Lost being played her games… However, she was not completely invisible. Mana spikes appeared as the strength of the mayhem increased, leaving one to believe that something could make her visible… If only someone had that ability…

As Sayha searched inside the pockets of the coats, all she was able to find was lint which was nothing special. Then when she went to examine the wall behind the coats, she didn’t find anything out of the ordinary. So far, Sayha found nothing out of the ordinary with them. She was about to leave the coats and head elsewhere when she realized that she might have been overthinking or overanalyzing. After all, she did think that they were out of place so it would only make sense to check the coats themselves. Sayha went over the coats once more, this time checking them instead of for something. She realized the coats were high quality… like really high quality; someone will a decent amount of wealth probably were the only ones who would buy them. On top of the quality itself, the designs on the coats were like nothing she had seen. They certainly weren’t designs she had seen in Londinium or even on the other side when she was in the US. Was it possible they were from the mainland that Adventurers were unable to get to? Just as Sayha was going to investigate the coats more to see if she could find any other details, Capsule’s voice caught her attention. Someone was still in the store? Why hadn’t the guards who secured the scene find them? Hiro had instantly run to the doorway to the back room in an attempt to stop anyone from getting out. Though there was another concern Sayha had. If they had wanted to leave, they could have at any time. They weren’t interested in leaving. It was some sort of trap.
Sayha was right as she heard that things haywire in the back room. She heard a drawer slam shut and then a sound of a drawer being ripped off the desk. She also heard thunks of things falling of shelves. Then even a book flew directly at Hiro. Someone was there to either throw the investigators off or to injure them. Either way, Sayha squeezed past Hiro and went into the back room. At first the only person she could see was Capsule, and she was over by a desk. However, there was no way it was her causing the distraction as she had called for them. Instead, Sayha carefully scanned each section of the room, trying to target someone or something while constantly attempting to activate <Eagle Track>. If she could just target the person or thing that was making things go nuts, she would be able to see where they were standing and where they had been, and she would possibly be able to grab them.

[attr="class","solcap"] Aaaand of course she failed to snare anything. Not only that, but the mysterious giggling ceased, and the drawer shut itself. Capsule stiffened as she waited for the voice to return, or its owner to reveal itself. Was it going to come flying out at her from behind one of the shelves, like a facehugger? She jumped when she spied something moving over the tops of the shelves, but calmed down once she recognized the familiar shock of red hair. Hiro appeared to be stationed at the exit, which was good. It would force the strange entity to remain in the room with them, and fight if it had any hopes of escaping.
Just when she thought that it was safe to exhale, a book fell from one of the numerous shelves, and a box of small tools was sent over end. And then came the dreaded giggling -- awsfkqqf. Capsule could not bite back the soft "Eek," as the childish voice spoke up beside her. “Papa doesn’t like intruders.” The Enchanter lowered her balled fists from her cheek, now hazarding a glance towards the source. Where she expected to see a small child to her left, there was nothing. Nothing out of the ordinary, except for the book flying across the room to Carrot Top.
Capsule turned back to the drawer, which had decided to violently eject itself from the desk. Well now. There was obviously something important here, and she needed to get to the bottom of it while there was still time. Hiro and the other girl could handle the child. The desk, pristine as ever except for the drawer incident, was free from the chaos slowly being wrought in the room. And here she was, sans hardhat.
She disregarded the expelled drawer for the moment; it only contained the sort of tools you would expect of a jeweler, and nothing obvious stood out to her. It was the desk, largely undisturbed, and bigger than it let on. If Capsule had to guess, she would say that the drawers hid a secret compartment of sorts. The Enchanter knelt down to peer into the excavated slot. One arm was stretched over her head, to protect from the items being strewn about the room. [attr="class","capsol"] So it seemed that the back room had very quickly turned into Peewee's Playhouse of sorts, as a disembodied voice had spoken, saying something about her dad not liking people coming into their place. Hiro wasn't exactly sure what it was that the "Lost" had wanted with them, nor why they felt the need to throw a book at him, which planted itself right onto his chest. He didn't really feel much of anything, though the shock from having been suddenly hit, seemed to get him a little surprised. A quiet grunt came from the Monk's mouth, as the book hit him, and lowered itself to the ground. Hiro looked down at the book, and decided to pick it up. Might be worth looking into the book later on, but for now, there was a much bigger, larger concern.
Specifically the fact that a disembodied spirit was messing around in this place. Now, normally, Hiro would have probably freaked out like a child and stood there quivering, though this spirit didn't seem all that hostile, outside of the plainly intelligent assault of literature upon his body. From there, it seemed that the spirit rages on about just about nothing, while Capsule had decided that she would go ahead and look into the desk that had been there, though it wasn't exactly dormant at the moment. Despite this being the case, she seemed interested enough in the object at hand that she wanted to get a closer look into it. While Hiro wouldn't walk over there and offer to join her, he wouldn't blame her for being curious. On the other hand, though, Hiro thought more about his current situation.
There had been a few spikes of mana in the area, which caused Hiro to think that there might have been something to all of this, that they didn't quite understand. That being the case, Hiro decided that he'd go ahead and shoot into the breeze for a moment, seeing if something he had thought of would be good for now. As much as he thought it might just be a random occurrence, Hiro decided to lift the small monocle he had been handed up to his eye, to see if he could spot anything specific in this back room.*
