With all the excitement Sayha had been doing, she decided to take a day off from adventuring and continue working with her Scribe subclass. She looked at what few recipes she had learned so far: Parchment Paper, Quill Pen, and Magic Ink. She had also made a map of the Isle of Grain that was currently in the Train Station that the guild was currently running. After a moment, she realized that despite that did not have a map of Londinium… or really any useful at that point. She knew she could make notebooks and magic cards and grimoires and other such useful objects, at least for other classes. Today was the day she planned on figuring out how to make them. First things first though. Sayha’s goal was to make a map of all the Unfounded Kingdom so her first task was to make a map of Londinium. She remembered that the Britain Royal News HQ had once given her papers to make her initial pages; they would probably be able to give her at least a basic map to copy from. She would be able to add details in later.
Sayha left her room at Buckingham Palace, her guild’s house, and made her way to downtown Londinium if you wanted to call it that. The BRN HQ was usually pretty slow and quiet, and it was when Sayha arrived there. After asking the person at the front desk for a map, she handed her one that she was allowed to keep. Sayha thanked her and head towards the market area to pick up some other supplies she would need for her other plans. She picked up some things that could be used to bind books and notebooks as well as a tray she may or may not use later that day to make some other things she had planned.
Once she bought everything she needed, she put into her inventory and headed back to her room in the Palace. It was time to get to work.

It didn’t take long for Sayha to return back at the Palace. Per normal, no one was around so she didn’t have to answer any questions or anything. She quietly made her way through the hallways to her own room. Once she was there, she entered and closed the door behind her. Her room was more than large enough for what she used it for. Usually every night, she would practice her sword dancing in the room, and she had plenty of space for that. Off in a corner was her desk which was where she would be working. Before getting to work though, she took off her jacket and placed it on the back of her desk chair. She then took the katanas attached to her belt off of said belt and set them by her bed. She took off her belt next, wrapping it up, and set it next to the katanas. Finally she took off her boots and set them nicely by the foot of her bed.
Once she was more comfortable, she went over to the desk and took out all of her crafting items out of her inventory and organized them neatly on the desk. She then took out the map she got at BRN HQ and unfolded it. After securing it down, Sayha took her spot in the desk chair and got her Quill Pen ready. After opening her Magic Ink, she dipped the pen in the ink and began her careful sketch of Londinium.
Sayha already knew that Londinium was huge from just being there and walking around, but she didn’t realize just how big it was until she started sketching it. There were a lot of places Sayha hadn’t been, and she planned on visiting them personally at a later date to update her map… because from the look of the map she had been copying it looked kind of outdated.
While she was drawing, she had to constantly shake out her wrist. It definitely was not used to putting in the amount of work. By the time she was done, her wrist was rather stiff, and she had to figure out a way to stretch it out. Overall though, Sayha was very happy with her end result.

Once Sayha finished giving her wrist a break, she moved onto her next planned recipe training. It was a simple one: a Notebook. She recalled many times she wished she had one and thought that knowing how to make one would be rather useful. Sayha took another piece of Parchment Paper and began to cut it into smaller pieces that were about the size of a smaller notebook page. Once she was done, she stacked them all together and made sure that they were all the same size. Some of them were slightly larger so she easily trimmed them down. Once the paper was trimmed, she set it aside for the time being.
She looked at the materials she had bought in the market for binding and chose just a simple black cover for the front and back. She punched holes where her string to hold the notebook together was going to set as well as put a crease so that the notebook would be able to open. She then set the paper on one of the sides of the notebook. She punched one hole through all the paper and tied it off loosely. She then punched the second and third holes following the same method. Once all the holes were punched, she untied the loosely tied string and placed the other cover on top. Then she braided some of the string together so it would be tighter and not fall apart as easily. Once all three strings were braided, she put them through the holes in the covers and pages and tied them off tightly.
Sayha tested the notebook, making sure that it worked. Sayha had made a notebook similar to this before on a whim on the other side. She was happy with the result and thought that it would be useful to have and use later on.

Sayha’s next project was very similar to what she had just done with the notebook but larger and more intricate. She was going to try to make a Grimoire. Sayha knew that her first attempt at a Grimoire might not be very… good the first time. After all, she was an Assassin with no sensitivity to mana, but that didn’t mean she was going to give up before she began.
The first thing she needed to do was get the cover into order. Unlike the notebook, she planned on having the grimoire have a spine so it was going to take a bit of extra time. First she took the basic material like she had used on the notebook and did a series of creases which would mark where the spine was. After that, she carefully glued some thicker linen onto what would be the outside. It took a long while for Sayha to be able to do that since she wanted to make sure there weren’t any air bubbles.
Once Sayha was satisfied with the outside, she turned the cover over so that she could work on the inside cover. She took another type of linen except it was thinner. She cut it to size and glued it on where the inner flaps of the grimoire would open. Those pieces were cut smaller and did not go over where the spine was. She was also very slow with the inside flaps as she wanted to make sure that there were no air bubbles there as well. Once the base was done, she had some finishing work to do, but she wanted to wait for the glue to dry first so she decided to take a quick break.

Once the paper was completely cut, Sayha set it aside for a brief moment. She removed the things from the grimoire cover to check the glue. It was dry by then, and the cover looked good. She set it aside and brought her paper together as now it was time for the tricky part. She had to carefully glue/sew all the pieces together. She decided she would first glue the edges of 20 pages at a time and then sew the pieces together. She ended up making quite a few bunches and she checked to make sure all of the bunches would fit in the cover. They did so Sayha began to sew the bunches together which took the most amount of time. When she finished she set the sewed pages off to the side slightly. She pulled more material and glued it onto the spine and trimmed it down. Once that was done, she glued the material to where the spine was on the cover she had already made. Once everything was glued together, Sayha had to wait for everything to finish drying. Though she did have some difficulties on how to make sure everything stayed in place while the glue was drying. After some ingenuity, she got everything to stay in place, and she decided to relax again, except not fall asleep. Though after a while, she ended up practicing her sword dancing instead. After her practice was done, she checked on the glue. It had finished trying so it was time to put in the final touches. Grimoires were magic books and they needed an enchantment to be put on them.
Using her Quill Pen and Magic Ink that she has slightly buried, she wrote an enchantment she remembered from an anime she had seen on the other side: “Approach form beyond, mistletoe branches, become spears of the silver moon, shoot and pierce! Petrifying spears, Mistilteinn.”
Sayha then put her hand on the front page and did what she could to channel her mana into the book. Once she finished that, she closed the Grimoire. It was complete.

After her work for the day, Sayha felt rather accomplished, but she wanted to learn how to make one more thing before she called it for the day. Sayha pulled out a smaller piece of Parchment Paper and her Magic Ink and Quill Pen. On the paper, she wrote out the wording to a basic contract or a basic transaction and included spots for both persons and both items being exchanged. At the bottom of the page, she made lines for the signatures of both people in the agreement as well as for a witness signature.
After thinking back, she remembered that the witness line had more to it so she ended up writing a short paragraph slash discloser for the witness to fill out. She might have been too detailed in making the contract, but she figured she could always change t at a later date if the need should arise.
After she finished, she pushed her chair back from the desk, stood up, and stretched. She had been in almost the same position for… hours? She really had lost track of time, and she realized that she needed to eat. Though before she left to go buy food at one of the nearby cafes, she figured cleaning up her mess would be the best course of action. She brushed all the extra trim away into a trashcan she had nearby, and put any extra material she had bought in her inventory. She then put away the extra Parchment Paper and Magic Ink away as well. After she made sure she was pretty well cleaned up, she pulled on her boots and headed out.
