[attr="class","textBox"] Agitation continued to burn in Saber’s core as his heels touched down on the weak ground of Thames, the rest of his body collapsing to a kneel as he landed atop a large hill. The sky above the area was grey and the temperature was lower than normal, but that didn’t bother the Assassin. He could still see and his clothes kept him at a comfortable temperature. What bothered him was the reason he was here; he was after the tablet or at least the pieces of it. He was back for the same reason he had been dispatched before, all because the Sages believed that they could continue to piddle around without pissing something, or someone, off. Saber seethed and the air which passed through his lips was hot. He hadn’t felt this kind of controlled anger in a long time.
Even so, his anger wouldn’t get in the way of him doing his job. If he was here to fix the tablet or whatever it was now, then he would do it. However he would make damn sure the Sages never got another chance to come out to these lands. And if he couldn’t do that, then he was going to ensure that they remembered his pissed off face and the feeling of a blade to their throats. Saber hated this crap. Not only were the Sages unfit to do their own work but they were putting others at risk simply to achieve their own goals. Saber had gone through it all before and even now, he was continuing to search the land for answers. He did not mind that, as searching for answers was one thing. But this? This was incompetence.
As he checked the area, Saber sighted a number of monsters spread out across the zone. Supposedly he was to do this with three others; the Dwarf Tobin, some other female Dwarf, and another man however he had gone ahead for this exact reason. Saber was annoyed and brimming with rage. Usually during transport from one location to the next, people within parties performed small talk. People asked questions of their peers and tried to solidify relationships, or they talked in order to answer questions that they had about the objective or the world in general. Saber wasn’t exactly a person who enjoyed that banter. If he was coming along for a job, he would rather be silent and just do it. Ninety percent of the time, Saber wasn’t even in the parties because he wanted to be but because he had to be; client orders or quest restrictions were the usual reasons. In both cases, Saber kept his distance. But this time around, it wasn’t because he didn’t want to interact with his peers. It was because it wasn’t safe to. If he stayed with them right now, he was sure to kill one of them.
In order to keep that from happening, Saber elected to go ahead of them. At least this way Saber had some time to himself and had a wide open field to play with without being disturbed. Monsters lurked and animals grazed, and not a single other Adventurer was in sight. Saber huffed and rose to his feet, drawing his two black short-swords from their resting places on his waist. In the time it would take for the others to catch up, Saber would clear out the zone of every living thing he saw. Without the divining rod, he couldn’t find the pieces of the tablet. So, he would make things easy; he’d make sure that there would be no reason to pause or hesitate when the others arrived. They would be able to walk in and simply begin searching without worrying about monsters. Why? Because the monsters in the area would already have their internals gouged out.
“This is why I contemplate murder…” Saber spat and then physically spit on the ground, his mouth rising above his scarf for just a moment before he tucked it back underneath the cloth. The Assassin rumbled and then got to work. His feet kicked off the ground and he vanished. The sounds of blades slashing through flesh and cries of agony echoed out into the space; heads will roll…
