It was a perfect day. Though Saiph was starting to get tired of perfect days. Up until then, she had stayed in the safety of Londinium… actually, it was he. At least in that world. He had finally gotten used to being in the body he was in, but he still slipped up every once in a while. It was to be expected though as he had been a she for so long. Since the Catastrophe or Apocalypse or whatever it was called happened, Saiph had made himself content with staying in Londinium, but he had become increasingly antsy as time had gone on. He finally decided he would work and go hunting. He was already a crack marksman, but he wasn’t sure how those skills would cross over into the world he was in now.
Saiph was just outside the Londinium City gates, looking around at his surroundings. He recalled when he had first awakened in this world. He had remembered creating his magical marksman then he just… blacked out. When he had regained his bearings, he was in the middle of a road in an unknown city. He had tried to figure out what happened, but no amount of analyzing had gotten him an answer.
“Things are different now,” Saiph mumbled to himself, adjusting the rifle strapped to his back. He was in starter gear so he knew he would need to get it upgraded in the near future, probably after he leveled up a few levels. For the time being though, he would out and try to hunt.
His biggest problem, though, was that he was level 1… and that he was a squishy DPS. On top of that, he didn’t know how combat worked in that world. He looked around, trying to see if there were any parties forming.

Dorian had propped himself up onto a sturdy branch, high up in the foliage of a lone tree that had grown itself just outside the city gates that marked the entrance to Londinium. It was here that he liked to go whenever he needed some time to think, to meditate on what had happened in the past few days. Today was different, however; for the past week or so, he had found himself nurturing several smaller Adventurers, various low levelled starters and up-and-comers that were just trying to make their mark on the world. After having been mentored himself all that time ago, he had found a small calling for himself, at least until he found what it was he really wanted to do with his abilities. But, until that day, he would find himself up here in the branches, watching for any newcomers to the wilderness beyond the city walls. Perhaps some of them would appreciate a helping hand, and a bit of wisdom from experience. The Shaman was always happy to offer it. Eyes forward, big guy; looks like we may have found someone, looks a little lost. Skrowe drew Dorian's attention to a nearby Adventurer, standing just on the edge of the city gates; from the looks of him, he seemed to be trying to gather a fellow Adventurer for storming out into the wild outskirts beyond Londinium. "Let's introduce ourselves then, shall we?" The Shaman swiftly and gracefully pressed his palms into the branch either side of his form, pushing himself off to slowly descend to the ground, landing on his feet with a gentle thud. Dusting himself off out of habit, he lifted his head marginally, eyeing the stranger from a distance before gradually approaching him. With hands clasped behind his back, he made the first move, bowing his head forward in a show of respect. "Greetings... I don't suppose you're looking to venture out into the wilds? If so, I'd be happy to accompany you." He gestured out towards the horizon, giving a tilt of his head before speaking again. "It can be dangerous out there, especially when on one's own, but I think you and I can handle whatever comes our way. What do you say?" Saiph was about to give up looking for a party and head out on his own when a voice caught his attention. He turned to see someone walk up to him. The one who walked up to him was slightly shorter than he, but most people were shorter than Saiph since he was six feet tall just as he was on the other side. After a glance at the stranger’s interface, it showed that he was a Shaman which was one of the classes that could do near any role. The stranger was also… level 44? What was a level 44 doing in such a low level area? Saiph studied him curiously. “Actually, yes I am looking to do some hunting to raise my level. Having you accompany me sounds like a good plan,” Saiph said after a moment, “Though I can’t help but wonder why a level 44 if hanging out in a lower-leveled zone. Are you looking for something like an event or do you have ulterior motives?” Saiph smiled and chuckled, “Though I suppose that’s not a great way to start off an adventure. The name is Saiph. SAI-f, not SAY-f, if you’re reading it.” He made sure to emphasize how his name was pronounced as people got it wrong all the time. If there was any one thing that annoyed him, it would be wrongly pronounced names. “I’m a Gunslinger Sorcerer so if you could be on the front lines keeping aggro off of me, that would be great. However since you’re such a high level, wouldn’t you just be one-shotting them? Do you have a plan on how the combat will work?”

The Shaman merely chuckled at the Sorcerer's words, looking down at himself in his sturdier, higher-levelled armour and weapon; thinking back on it, he realised it probably looked incredibly suspicious to others that an advanced Adventurer such as himself was back in the low level areas around Londinium. Most would expect him out by Sarum or Stratford-Upon-Avon, but he had gained his fair share of foreign places for the past couple weeks, opting instead to go with his Mentor streak that he had going at the moment. " I admit, I probably shouldn't be here; no doubt I look rather out of place. But, funnily enough, I too was just as low a level as you were; very recently, in fact! And I wouldn't have gotten to where I am now without the help of stronger Adventurers taking me under their wing," he remarked, lifting up one of his arms in a wing-like fashion, gesturing his other arm underneath, before dropping them both out of a mild sense of awkward embarrassment. "Anyway, it seemed only fair that I return here and pass on some of the wisdoms that I was taught; though I assure you, the teaching process will be much more... gentle... than it was for me." He rubbed at the back of his neck, recalling his experience with a certain elven Assassin with a knack for getting her point across quickly. Shaking his head, he quickly brought himself back to the task at hand, gesturing with his wrist to slide up the interface and send a quick party invite to Saiph. "In any case, it is a pleasure to meet you, Saiph," the Shaman replied, being extra careful to get the pronunciation right. "I'm Dorian, at your service." Once the invite had been sent, Dorian nodded his head slowly at the Gunslinger's last statement. "Aye, I do have a plan. I know my way around my abilities, so I should be able to keep us both alive without killing everything before you can touch them. But yes, I'll be keeping the aggro when we get out there; if anything manages to escape my attention, just call for me and I'll get my barriers readied up!" ‘Of course you were low level like I was,’ Saiph thought to himself as Dorian explained why he was in the lower-leveled zones. As always, Saiph was analyzing his newly found companion, trying to determine what his motives, ‘Everyone starts at level 1. Unless of course you cheated, but I highly doubt that happened.’ Then, Dorian explained that he wanted to help lower-leveled people. “Wisdom is nice,” Saiph nodded, “I already know how to fire a gun, and I’ve played other MMO’s before the Catastrophe. I’m just trying to get a knack for combat in this game. After we kill a few mobs, I should be okay.”
Saiph nodded as Dorian pronounced his name correctly, “Well met, Dorian.” A pop-up window appeared in front of him, asking him if he wanted to join Dorian’s party. Saiph clicked the Yes button, and he was good to go. Saiph listened as Dorian explained his brief plan. There was obviously more to it, and Saiph cared not for the details. Dorian seemed to be a good enough guy, and Saiph had a pretty good feeling they would get along well.
“That sounds like a solid plan to me,” Saiph smiled slightly, “I am not familiar with Shamans at all, but maybe you can explain while we are hunting.” Saiph started to walk towards the plains where monsters were bound to show up. “Are Shamans tanks? Or are they a shielding Healer? Or are they neither?”
Saiph passively touched the rifle that was strapped to his back. It was definitely the bare minimum and nothing like the rifles he had back on the other side. The one he had needed to be reloaded after every single shot which was rather obnoxious… though he did have his magic spells which were going to be his focus anyway.
It didn’t take long for Saiph to spot enemies, and he stopped when he spotted them. Two level 2 Dul Green Slimes and one level 3 Frenmic Rabbit.
“Three enemies in sight,” Saiph said, pulling the rifle off of his back. Once it was off, he put the butt of the rifle into his right shoulder, keeping the barrel pointed at the ground, “You’re on. Let’s see if your plan works.”

Dorian nodded slowly as the Sorcerer explained his knowledge of his abilities, smiling contently at the rather simple task ahead of him. "Well, with all that going for you, it should be simple enough to get you started here; as you said, just a few mobs and we'll have you fighting dragons in no time." He chuckled at his game humour, giving the male a playful wink. Quickly enough, the two of them joined up into a party, their names popping up onto the Shaman's interface within a neatly designated party box. Once the two of them were ready, they set off towards the wilderness, their journey taking them in the direction of the plains area just near the outskirts of Londinium. "I can certainly try, though I've only been playing with my class for a month now, so forgive me if my knowledge is rather lacklustre in specific details..." He explained in brief the roles and abilities of the Shaman class: "In short, they are apart of the Healer triad; but instead of restoring damage, their sole focus is preventing it, with barriers. They do have a few healing abilities, and they also have a range of self-cast abilities that focus on making them more able in combat."
"Overall, Shaman is very versatile, able to fill practically any role; obviously, it doesn't perform as well as other more focused classes, but a good Shaman knows how to make the most of his tools." Most of what he had learned of his class came from experience and self-taught example; without interaction with any other Shamans, he was forced to work with himself most of the time, but luckily he had managed to gain a few early friends and mentors when he started Adventuring a little over a month ago. Before long, their journey brought them to a collection of monsters, a pair of Dull Green Slimes, tracked at level two, and Frenmic Rabbit, level three. Giving the Sorcerer a nod of understanding, he quickly unsheathed his longsword, brandishing it in his right hand; with a steady activation of his Divine Subjugation ability, his body began to glow an aura of yellow as he approached the group, lunging with a decisive focus. Gently tapping the trio with the hilt of his weapon, he managed to get a selection of attacks on them without dealing damage, and thanks to his skill, he drew a larger amount of aggro. The Slimes bobbed and wiggled towards him as he slowly stepped backwards, holding his weapon at the ready, the Rabbit gearing itself up to pounce from between the gelatinous creatures and make a strike of it's own. "Your move, Saiph!"

Saiph was quite interested in how Shamans worked. From what Dorian explained, Saiph guessed that it was a jack of all trades class though the healing style was rather unique. It reminded him of a different healing type class he had played with before on a previous game, and it sounded rather complicated if it would be used in a raid. Once Saiph spotted and announced the enemies in sight, Dorian drew his sword. He moved towards the enemies, and Saiph followed behind Dorian until he was within shooting range. Once he was, he quickly loaded a bullet into the rifle and knelt down onto his right knee with his left staying at a 90 degree angle. The butt of the rifle was already in his shoulder so he aimed the barrel of the rifle with his left hand while the right hand was by the trigger. With his finger on the trigger, he watched and waited patiently.
Dorian had some sort of yellow aura which was quite obviously an ability of some sort, though Saiph was not sure what kind of ability it was. As Dorian approached the group of monsters, he seemed to tap them with the hilt of the sword rather than the blade, and Saiph noticed that the health bars hadn’t moved at all. ‘Some sort of aggro ability then,’ Saiph thought as the monsters turned their full attention to Dorian as he told Saiph that he was good to go.
Saiph targeted one of the Dull Slimes, knowing that killing the lower-leveled adds was always the best strategy. However instead of firing his weapon, he chose to cast one of his spells, “<Serpent Bolt>.” From the barrel of the gun, a bluish purple lightning bolt shot forward, hitting the slime. Once the Slime was hit, arcs of the same colored lightning came off of it. Those bouncing bolts hit the other monsters that were near it. The slimes and the rabbit took no note of Saiph so he used that opportunity to fire a regular bullet. He hit the monster in the main body, and it dealt a little bit more damage.
Saiph then reloaded another bullet, keeping an eye on the enemies. Even though Dorian wouldn’t get damaged at all by their attacks, he figured it wouldn’t hurt to practice.

Dorian blinked in surprise at the sudden bolt of energy that seemed to fire from the Sorcerer's gun; it was an interesting combination, using spells in tandem with the high damage and speed of a rifle, and the Shaman had no doubt it would come in handy for some interesting predicaments during their escapades. After another bullet flew from the end of his barrel, the slimes had a considerable amount of damage under their belt, and the Rabbit between them had dwindled slightly in it's health. Swivelling his blade in a spin-like manoeuvre in his hand, Dorian readied himself against the trio of monsters. "Excellent shots, Saiph; keep up the artillery, I'll lead them back to give you a bit more of a challenge." As he exclaimed this, his eyes fell down towards the Rabbit, noticing it readying itself; the damage it had taken did little to dissuade it from attacking, as it leapt off the ground using it's hind legs to attempt to barrel it's body into the Shaman. With a swift cut of his weapon across his form, he parried the rabbit off, knocking it back to where it fell behind the pair of Slimes.
Slowly but surely, Dorian began stepping backwards from the trio; to the untrained eye, it may have looked like he was retreating from them, but his calm demeanour and the concentration plagued within his eyes evidenced that he was drawing them in right where he wanted them. It would have been easy to simply make a long arched swipe across the three and decimate them completely, but there was no chance for Saiph to learn from that. Instead, he kept his guard up, ready to block and parry and dodge whenever an attack came his way, simply pulling them further and further from the Sorcerer. "The important thing about combat is knowing your limits; when it comes to ranged combat, whether it be with a bow and arrows or a rifle - as it is in your case - one must understand that hindrance of range, and how far you can actually go before you simply become a distant observer with no firepower. So, let's see what you can do, hmm?" He gave a quick nod of reassurance towards the Sorcerer, waiting for the sound of gunfire.

Once Saiph reloaded his rifle, he took aim at the monsters once more. Once Saiph got his bearings again, he watched as Dorian moved them further away. That was fine with Saiph… at least for the time being. It would give Saiph a chance to see how accurate his basic rifle was with longer distances. Later on, he planned on changing to a sniper-type rifle instead of a hunting rifle like the one he had. Of course, that didn’t matter at that point in time. ‘Reloading is taking too long,’ Saiph thought to himself, ‘and I need to figure out a better way to cast abilities.’ He glanced at his ability list which consisted of only three since he was still only level 1. He should probably focus on magic attacks rather than reloading his rifle, at least for the time being. He would save his regular bullet for an emergency.
Once Dorian stopped moving and nodded towards Saiph, he took aim at the Slime he had previously attacked. Instead of saying one of his abilities, he formed a mental picture of what the ability would do. In front of the barrel of his gun, a red orb appeared, his <Orb of Lava> ability. After the cast time was over, the orb flew for the Slime, exploding upon impact. Once the dust had cleared, only one Slime and the Rabbit remained. Rather than celebrate, Saiph aimed for the remaining Slime. He activated his <Mana Arrow> and shot the slime. Since it only had a global cooldown of a second, he was able to shoot of four Arrows in quick procession. The Slime was nearly dead at that point so Saiph fired his gun. Despite the distance, the bullet hit the Slime head on. This time, Saiph watched as the slime exploded into bubbles that floated and disappeared into the sky.
Saiph took the rifle from his shoulder and reloaded it once more. Only one target remained.

Saiph seemed to be a natural with his weapon, quickly utilising the combination of the rifle's range and his spell abilities to his advantage. Even with the newly created distance between them, the Sorcerer managed to fire off a sizeable Orb of Lava at one of the slimes, the spell soaring and detonating with a small blast to silence and disintegrate the creature. "Excellent shot, it seems you're learning quickly! That, or you've done this before," he called out humorously. It's always good to keep the mood light, especially with what they were doing, gunning down small creatures. But Saiph seemed to be in his element, the serious expression on his face evidence of his determination to excel. With another spell open in his repertoire, he managed to fire off a barrage of Mana Arrows, the piercing darts skewering through the second slime's body until it's health was reduced to nothing, it's gelatinous form bursting and dissipating into bubbles of data, a few coins and some items dropping onto the ground in it's wake.
"Alright, I see you can do long distance..." The Shaman skirted himself around the last creature, the rabbit frantically trying to hop at him and latch onto anything it could with it's buck teeth, but Dorian seemed to fast for it. "It's time to test your abilities a bit further." Giving a quick glance to his interface, it seemed the Frenmic Rabbit had a small amount of health left, perhaps due to collateral damage from the Orb of Lava. One well-placed shot would do the trick, but where to put the target? An idea clicked in his mind, as he moved once again to put the rabbit between himself and Saiph. "Let's see how well you do with an aerial target! Pull!" With that, he aimed and swiped his foot under the rabbit's small form, giving it a kick and launching it off the ground and into the air, it's frightened expression squealing as it soared towards the Sorcerer. "Shoot it out of the sky! Or, as they say back home, fire!"

Saiph’s reload the second time was much faster, not responding to Dorian’s comments. They were all and well for someone who was a melee-ranged fighter, but since Saiph was a long-range fighter, he wouldn’t want to give away his position. He smirked when Dorian said that he was going to test Saiph’s skills. ‘When it comes to marksmanship,’ Saiph thought to himself, ‘I’ll win every time.’ Dorian in a quick movement kicked the Frenmic Rabbit in the air towards Saiph. Saiph followed the rabbit with his rifle. Just as it was about to hit the highest arch, he charged his next <Orb of Lava>. The rabbit began to fall when the cast time was up, and the attack flew through the air. After a few seconds, the rabbit and the Orb collided, causing an explosion. Above where the explosion took place, Saiph could see bubbles floating upwards towards the sky. All three targets were neutralized… or at least for now. Saiph carefully looked around for any other enemies. After making sure no more enemies were around, Saiph relaxed his hold on his rifle. As he stood up from his crouching position, he strapped the rifle back to his back and began walking towards Dorian.
“Well, that was easy,” Saiph said, “Combat here really isn’t much different than back home… of course here we get to play with the magic and all that fun jazz. Though I will say you don’t need to give me fighting advice; like I said earlier, I know how to shoot. Actually I think I have over 50 marksmanship awards back home… could be more, I kind of lost track a few years ago.”
Saiph chuckled as he adjusted the strap of his rifle on his shoulder, “Though it does seem leveling pays off in the long run. I’ll have to look at doing some hard solo power leveling to catch up to the higher tiered players. Though I can do that later, shall we look for more lower monsters or are you bored of the lower area?”

Dorian could just hear the frightened voice in the rabbit's head as it soared through the air, exclaiming, "It's a bad day for me...!" But it was quickly and surreptitiously silenced by the methodical and well-placed shot of the Sorcerer over yonder; just as it fell from the top of it's gentle arch, the second Orb of Lava shot clean from Saiph's barrel, colliding mid-air with the Frenmic Rabbit and exploding in a display of flames and sparks, the fizzle and bubble of the creature's death echoing into the wind. Once the impact had settled, the Shaman swiftly slipped the blade of his longsword back into it's scabbard on his hip, before moving across the distance between himself and the Sorcerer. "Indeed, rather easy... At least, you certainly made it look easy; are you sure you need me to even be here? You have a rather excellent way with your weapon of choice, especially with the magic... and all that fun jazz." Repeating Saiph's words, Dorian chuckled under his breath, crossing his arms over his chest as he listened to what he had to say.
He nodded his head when the Sorcerer finally finished his train of thought. "Aye, levelling is important; once you get to the bigger monsters, those 50 or more marksmanship awards aren't going to do you much good until you've gotten more skills; not to mention a more reliable weapon than your starter rifle there. But, for now, you seem apt enough to handle most problems you'll face." Dorian made to glance around the nearby area, checking over to see if they had any monsters in the near vicinity to deal with, or in case they had been stealthily ambushed during their conversation. "As I said, in light of your lack of a need to be taught anything, I'm simply here to test your abilities, get you familiar with the system. The lower levelled areas seem to be a piece of cake for you, so alas we shall have to move on to... greener pastures, so to speak." He chuckled softly, gesturing for Saiph to follow as he turned towards the faint path through the forest. "By greener, I of course mean more difficult."

After the rabbit exploded, Saiph and Dorian met midway between each other for their brief chat. Saiph chuckled at Dorian’s comment on how he had made it look easy with his weapon and magic, mimicking his comment on magic. “Need is quite a strong word,” Saiph responded, “I’d much rather have company while out hunting than be alone… especially being the level I am. I’m eventually going to try to get a sniper rifle or this game’s equivalent and having someone distract them on the front lines is always an asset.”
Saiph then listened to what Dorian had to say regarding leveling as well as skills… as well as moving on to a more difficult area. “Leveling I do plan on doing,” Saiph nodded, “I may just end up leveling slowly since I also will want to get my Gunslinger subclass leveled. It will definitely be a need since I’ll be gun-focused.”
Saiph looked onwards towards the path Dorian had gestured towards. It was safe to say that it lead towards the higher-leveled area of the area that they were currently in: Windor Greatwoods. Actually, it was probably the reason the region got its name. Saiph was slightly skeptical on the idea of moving further along. He would make easy prey for monsters who were much higher than he was… though Dorian had been right when he said the area was a bit easy for him.
“Alright, I suppose that’s a plan,” Saiph finally responded, “However, I’m going to have to insist you go first. I’ve heard the monsters there are usually level 15 and higher which is quite a bit higher than I am.”
Saiph waited for Dorian to lead the way, and he followed behind. “So Dorian,” Saiph spoke, “Have you done a lot of exploration of the map yet? What’s the rest of the world like? Or do you even know?”

The Shaman nodded softly, a gladdened expression gracing his features at hearing the Sorcerer's preference for company. "Well, I'm always happy to tag along, of course." Hearing him speak of obtaining a weapon akin to a sniper rifle, Dorian rubbed at his chin in contemplation, looking off into the distance for a moment of time. "A good thought, but I don't know if any of the Adventurer crafters have achieved a scope mechanism... But, there are certainly more effective rifles out on the market, or if you're lucky, you may run into a weaponsmith who could design you a specialty item." As they continued to converse, the duo made their way deeper into the area, eventually moving into the fringes of the Windsor Greatwood. Here was where they would encounter monsters with plentiful experience and, more importantly, a greater challenge for the budding rifleman. "Leveling slowly is fine, nothing wrong with taking your time; as I always say, knowing one's limits and working with them is the sign of a true master."
Humming contently as they continued moving, Dorian was surprised by the next question that Saiph brought up; few people knew of his love for exploration and discovery, though he had yet to delve into the hobby in a deeper manner here in the new world, owing to his low level compared to what lay in wait. "I have done my fair share of taming the wilds and making my mark on the Londinium area; I've even branched off towards the more difficult terrains and landscapes, such as that of Sarum and Avon. But, for all it's dangers, the world is a beautiful one, if you give it the chance to prove itself to you." Before he could say more, a shifting of movement caught his eye, the ruffling shake of a bush alerting him to a foe that had moved itself into their path. Watching closely, Dorian watched as a pair of Brier Weasels emerged from the bush, scuttling into their line of sight. "Two weasels, level 10 and level 11. Might be tricky, but if we play our cards right, you should be able to handle them safely. Ready?" The Shaman unsheathed his blade delicately, making as little sound as possible with the metal scraping against the leather interior, as he turned to face the Sorcerer, waiting for his response.

Saiph listened to Dorian as he spoke of guns and scopes. It made perfect sense that he would have to do a special order of sorts to get the weapon he would want. It was of really no surprise as most of the weapons he had back home had been online orders and purchases… and he was quite familiar with buying things via wholesalers thanks to him owning his own business. Although his business had been for recreational shooting… or maybe game shooting would be better since it was air soft and paintball… but now wasn’t the time to think about semantics.
Dorian answered Saiph’s next question rather happily. He explained that he had done his fair share of exploring, including the further regions of Sarum and Avon. Saiph had heard of them in passing but didn’t know a lot about the places. He knew that Sarum was to the west past the area they were in while Avon was further north. Saiph would have asked more questions about the place had two Weasels not appeared. One was level ten and the other level eleven… this could prove difficult.
In response to Dorian’s question on whether he was ready or not, Saiph readied his rifle and knelt down behind one of the nearby trees, keeping himself mostly out of sight while still having a visual on the two enemies.
Saiph took a deep breath, focusing his thoughts on his targets. Dorian would be able to aggro them from him as he had done earlier so he would be able to take the first shot. He wouldn’t do a lot of damage, unfortunately, due to the level difference, but it would be enough.
With his focus on the level 11 Briar Weasel, Saiph magically shot forth an attack: <Serpent Bolt>. The attack hit head-on, and both Weasels caught site of Saiph. After another breath, Saiph shot forth a few <Mana Arrows> via magic, they also hitting the target head on.

The Sorcerer seemed to ready his rifle in answer, readying himself for the battle; at least he didn't lack for eagerness. Nodding his head, the Shaman turned towards the weasels, his blade held ready within his right hand as he made to step forward and attack. Alas, he was beaten to the punch, as he saw the familiar Serpent Bolt zoom past him, no doubt being cast from Saiph's rifle. The spell impacted with the level 11 Briar Weasel, not dealing any damage to it due to the nature of the spell; in return, the level 10 weasel beside it was hit by the lingering electricity from the magic cast and stunned for a brief period of time. "Good shot, but careful with firing first; at the moment you're lucky that I have aggro grabbing abilities," Dorian warned, looking over his shoulder with a stern nod to make sure the brief lesson was ingrained in the Sorcerer's mind. With the level 10 creature stunned for a short time, the Shaman decided to focus on the bigger target.
Brandishing his longsword, he once again cast Divine Subjugation; his body began to glow yellow, just as it had before, and he felt his mana surge through the blade of his weapon. Stepping forward, he let the Sorcerer's next few shots ring out, Mana Arrows that sought out and damaged their target, before lunging in to meet the attack of the level 11 weasel. As the creature lunged upwards, leaping off the ground and attempting to slash, Dorian easily deflected it off of his blade, parrying it somewhat clumsily and causing it to reflect back, sending it sprawling back beside it's comrade. With a strategically weakened lunge, he struck forward, piercing the side of the weasel's hide and nicking it for a tidy, small sum of damage. Thanks to the glow around his body, and the damage of his attack, he now had the attention of the level eleven monster, neglecting the level ten beside him who was recovering from it's stun and letting Saiph keep up the artillery to prevent it from reaching him.

As Saiph began to fire shots, he heard Dorian give him a warning which he mentally waved off. He was well aware of Dorian’s aggro abilities which had been why he had fired when he had in the first place, but now was not the time to argue semantics. They were in the middle of a fight after all.
Dorian’s body began to glow yellow just as he drew his sword. In a few swift movements, Saiph could see Dorian parry an attack from the level 11 Briar Weasel as well as damage it. That one’s attention was completely on Dorian. The level 10, however, was not.
Saiph’s initial attack had stunned the level 10 Weasel, and now it was angry. Dorian had not grabbed aggro of the Weasel, probably on purpose, for Saiph to deal with, and he had a plan. Saiph would simply have to make sure it didn’t have a chance to get to him. After all, Saiph had no intentions of dying.
Saiph refocused his rifle on the level 10 once the Weasel had recovered from the stun. It began to make its way towards Saiph, but Saiph didn’t move, at least not yet. Saiph continued to fire multiple <Mana Arrows>, slowly decreasing the Weasel’s health. Once the Weasel was about 5 yards away, Saiph prepared his next attack.
At the end of the rifle, Saiph quickly charged his next ability: <Orb of Lava>. Instead of aiming it at the body of the Weasel, he aimed it toward the lower part of the body near its legs. The ability went flying forward and hit where Saiph intended. Thanks to that attack, the Weasel flew backwards a few yards thanks to the blast of the impact.
Once the attack had shot forward, Saiph quickly stood and moved in an arc around the Weasel over to where Dorian was standing. He turned once he was next to him and focused back on the Weasel, firing a few more <Mana Arrows>.
“This may be a long right at this rate,” Saiph said aloud, “You may need to intervene more this time around.”

As he kept the level eleven weasel down with his various parries, the gentle yellow glow around his form dissipated and the skill wore off, but he was still much over the creature's power as he continued to knock it back with each block, the steel of his blade ringing whenever the heavy body of the monster knocked upon the flat of it. Eventually, he heard the familiar sound of more Mana Arrows being fired, glancing over his shoulder for a split second to spy the level ten weasel attempting to move in for an attack on Saiph, who was doing quite well in keeping it at bay, drawing down it's health slowly but surely. With approximately five yards left between them, the echoed splash of the Orb of Lava drew a smile to the Shaman's palette, before he put the pressure back on top of his own weasel. It wasn't long after that, that Dorian felt the presence of the Sorcerer, who had manoeuvred his way around to stand beside him, explaining the situation they were now in.
"Well, you may have a point there," Dorian muttered, looking at the rather small amount of damage he had purposefully done to the level eleven weasel; Saiph's adversary was almost at the brink of death however. "Okay, I'm going to bring them together, drop them to a nice low health, and you can finish them off with another Orb of Lava." The Shaman quickly relayed his plan, before swivelling his blade around the both of them, grabbing the attention of the two weasels with a couple nicks to their fur. Thrusting his hand out, he activated Leaping Apricot Technique, disappearing into thin air and leaving behind an array of apricot petals, the fragrance wafting around where he once stood. 6 feet away, in the direction he had pointed, he reappeared, his body swivelling gracefully to face the weasels. As they rushed in for another attack, the Shaman bounced the level ten off his elbow, leaving it with the minimal health it already had, and slashed his longsword across the level eleven, bringing it to a similar sized bit of health, before knocking it to have it roll over and land beside the other. "Now, Saiph!"

As Saiph explained the situation as he saw it to Dorian, Saiph couldn’t help but think that things weren’t going according to Dorian’s plan as he muttered that Saiph had a point. The later part wasn’t a surprise at all; after all, Saiph usually had points when he spoke… though maybe not so much recently. That, however, was beside the point. Though Saiph couldn’t help but wonder how Dorian had expected the fight to go. Saiph was only a level one after all, and he did a very minimal amount of damage, despite the fact that the Briar Weasel he had been focusing on was near death. Saiph looked at his mana levels. It was severely low, but he knew he could get out a few more attacks before becoming completely depleted.
Dorian then explained his plan, or his new plan rather. He was going to grab their attention while moving them into the same range. Then, Saiph was to finish them both off with another <Orb of Lava> attack. Saiph quickly glanced at the attack’s cool down. Two seconds left, plenty of time. Saiph nodded his agreeance as the plan just as Dorian nicked both of the Weasels with his sword. That simple attack aggroed both of them, which meant that Saiph was in the clear when it came to being attacked.
Then, Dorian disappeared… or at least it seemed he disappeared. He was about 6 feet away from where he had stood with Saiph… and there were petals along the path that he must have taken as well as a fruity smell that he couldn’t quite identify. However, that wasn’t important. Saiph turned and pointed is rifle in front of where Dorian was now standing, ready to attack on Dorian’s order.
Since Dorian moved, the Weasels immediately turned and ran to where he was, running at him. The level 10 Weasel that Saiph had beaten down bounced of Dorian’s elbow, but Dorian sliced at the level 11, causing most of its health to discipate. The Weasels were now standing side by side, growling at Dorian. That was when Saiph got the order to attack. He immediately made sure that he was aiming at the Weasels before summoning his magic for another <Orb of Lava>.
The fire went flying towards the Weasels and exploded upon impact… and that wasn’t the only thing that exploded. Above the dust, Saiph could see bubbles floating up into the air. Of course, he couldn’t determine whether the both targets were killed or not until the dust settled. Once it did, he was indeed able to confirm what he thought. Both Weasels were now gone.
Saiph went into a relaxed position, letting the rifle hang by his side with only his right hand on it. With a smile on his face, Saiph made his way over to where Dorian was now standing.
“That rather difficult,” Saiph said, “but I think that qualifies as a pass. However as much fun as this has been, I am nearly out of mana, and I think that those Weasels were enough for me today. I think I’m going to head back to Londinium. Would you like to join me? Maybe we can go for a drink or if it’s too early for that, we can get coffee or tea if you don’t care for coffee.”

Sometimes Dorian would get carried away with things; such was the danger of becoming an Adventurer, revelling in the adrenaline of the hunt and the thrill of combat. Often times, the Shaman found himself pushing too far, or attempting outlandish plans that made no sense. Such was the situation he and his newly found pupil Saiph were in, that put the fledgling Sorcerer into quite a bit of danger; a close call, if you will. The Briar Weasels were a hefty pair, their levels rather outclassing the spell sniper and, as it seemed, taking their toll on his mana. Having been warned as much, Dorian had quickly re-evaluated; such was the skill of a tactician, to watch the battlefield and constantly re-analyse it for data, coming up with modifications to the original plan, or as it was in this case, come up with a completely new strategy entirely. And so, that's exactly what the Shaman had done in that short moment of respite as the monsters had closed in.
Luckily, his plan came to fruition perfectly, not to blow his own horn, of course. Dorian held the line with the two weasels baring down on him, and on quick order, Saiph followed his lead and fired when ready, launching a decisive Orb of Lava straight between the two creatures. Impacting the ground, a tidy explosion of dust flew up into the Shaman's face, causing a coughing fit to erupt as he cleared his lungs of the dirt and waved his hand in front of him to dissipate it into the air. As the dust cleared and settled, the last remnants of the data bubbles left behind by the weasel's deaths floated into the air, disintegrating to leave nothing behind except the gold and junk items that normally came with a monster's death. "Well, that certainly was climactic." Chuckling under his breath, the Shaman stepped forward and sheathed his blade into it's scabbard, hearing the soft scrape of metal on leather as it slid all the way in, the tip neatly impacting into the end of the sheath.
Walking toward the Sorcerer, Dorian smiled as he nodded his agreement. "Certainly," he replied, placing his hands on his hips as he gave off slightly raspy breaths, a bit of dust still accumulated within his throat, chest rising and falling steadily as he brought his body back down to a healthy rhythm. "You did well, Saiph; apologies for sticking that much stress on you at the beginning there, I may have misjudged the situation a bit. Nevertheless, you performed admirably under pressure." Saiph suggested returning to Londinium, having had his fill of the wilderness and monsters outside the city limits, to which the Shaman merely smirked and bowed his head respectfully. "I'd be happy to join you, sir; drinks do sound good right about now, and I'm happy to pay." Stepping past the Sorcerer, he clapped his hand upon the man's shoulder, grinning sheepishly as his breath slowly caught back up to him, his legs instinctively taking him in the direction of the city.
