The Nutcracker
Number of Participants: 1- 6
Description: After receiving a gift of a nutcracker, when it is broken, a young girl cries for the doll. At midnight, her tears cast a spell and the Nutcracker comes to life. The mouse King, the nemesis of the Nutcracker, shows himself and it is up to Clara to save the Nutcracker from the clutches of the Evil Mouse King's Claws.
Objectives: Complete the production before time runs out!
Details:
-Each person will play as their own Adventurer/ Lander, but will be given customized costumes to fit their played character [two per character].
-There will be two acts, three scenes in each and each person will have to post at least once in each act.
-Some roles are only for a short time, so once those roles are no longer needed, you will be given another role to play, or you can opt out and the roles will be covered by an NPC.
-Upon completion of the play, you get to keep your costumes as a gift and I will craft you a food of your choice!
-The production fails if all party members are knocked out, or can not be revived to continue the play and if it can not be completed before January 3rd.

Lead Roles:
Clara [Played by kittygrey ] - A sweet, innocent young girl, known as the heroine of the play who falls in love with the Nutcracker Prince.
The Nutcracker Prince [Played by Saber ] - A strong and loved Prince who rules the Land of Sweets. [Also plays Drosselmeyer's nephew]
The Mouse King - Nemesis to The nutcracker, his evil intentions are to rid of the Nutcracker Prince and take over the Land of Sweets. [plays father beginning of first act]

Medium Roles:
Uncle Drosselmeyer - the godfather of Clara and the one who gives Clara the nutcracker. They are not actually related, but both Fritz and Clara refer to him as Uncle. [also plays Cavalier]
The Sugar Plum Fairy [Played by @serenityspace ] - Placed as ruler of the Land of Sweets until the Nutcracker Prince is returned to his normal self. [Plays mother in first Act]
The Sugar Plum Fairy's Cavalier - Always by her side, the Cavalier stands strong, until he must rise to the challenge and help The Nutcracker Prince and Clara defeat the Mouse King. [Drosselmeyer]

Lesser Roles:
Fritz - Clara's stubborn younger brother who breaks the nutcracker on purpose out of jealousy.
Second to the Mouse King - A seemingly loyal, but timid servant, always by the Mouse Kings side. Disappears when the battle ensues but comes back afterwards.
Drosselmeyer's Nephew - Only appears in Act two, scene three. Identical to the Nutcracker Prince in every way. [Played by the Nutcracker Prince]
Mother [Played by @serenityspace ] - A filler role for the first act.
Father - A filler role for the first act.

In the second Act, where Fritz and Drosselmeyer are not needed, whomever plays Drosselmeyer will serve as the Sugar Plum Fairy's Cavalier and Fritz as the second to the Mouse King.

It has been brought to my attention that some people may not know the nutcracker so I will do a break down of the Acts so that you have an idea!

Act One
Scene One
This scene brings about the beginning. It cuts to a scene of Clara, her brother Fritz and her mother and father all standing by the tree. Clara and Fritz begin to play and soon Dosselmeyer comes in with a bag of gifts. He shows Clara and Fritz some of the dolls he made and allows them to play with them for a short while. He soon takes them away and they are sent to bed, but not before Clara is handed a hand crafted nutcracker by her godfather. The adults talk for a bit and soon the children are sent to bed, not long after, the parents follow. Near the middle of the night, Fritz sneaks down and, ruled by jealousy, breaks the nutcrackers arm off on purpose. Clara sneaks out of her room, Fritz back in bed, to check on him and finds him broken. She cries for him and magic is felt gathering.

Scene Two
The nutcracker comes to life by the tears of Clara and the Mouse King, sensing his nemesis, makes himself known, bringing forth an army of Rat Men Soldiers, his second following closely behind him. (Normally it is only the two that battle with a bunch of dolls to aide them, but for the sake of everyone RPing together, we will bring in the other characters (not the lesser or Drosselmeyer) for the battle and then they will be sent back to their intended positions.) Once the Rat Men soldiers are defeated, the Mouse King escapes to the Land of Sweets and the Nutcracker asks Clara to go with him. She complies and they both head there through a mouse hole.

Scene Three
Clara and the Nutcracker arrive in the Land of Sweets and instantly go to see the Sugar Plum Fairy who is currently ruling the land in the Prince's stead. The Nutcracker tells the Fairy of the situation that has happened and the Sugar Plum Fairy offers aide in the form of her trusted Cavalier, knowing that a battle is coming. She also tells them that Clara will be the one who breaks the curse on their land. Clara is oblivious to what the curse is, as well as the fact that the Nutcracker is the actual ruler of the Land of Sweets. The Sugar Plum Fairy tells them they must go to the Mouse King's palace, hidden somewhere in the Land of Sweets. Clara, the Nutcracker and the cavalier leave on their journey.

Act Two
Scene One
Basically just a filler scene, giving a bit of background information on the characters and Clara trying to get information out of the Nutcracker and the cavalier of the curse that they are seeking to rid of. At this time, the Sugar Plum Fairy can be playing with the children of the land, or dancing with the snowflakes or whatever you chose for her and the mouse King and the second will be plotting to take the Land of Sweets and overthrown The Nutcracker Prince.

Scene Two
The three come to the palace of the Mouse King and find him plotting the throne with his second. Another battle ensues, larger than the last. (Again, the other characters will join in as well but this time, they stay.) Once all enemies have been defeated the Mouse King and the Nutcracker have their final battle. The Mouse King manages to stab the Nutcracker and thinks he has won, but Clara throws her shoe at the Mouse King's head and when he gets distracted, the Nutcracker stabs him in the heart, ending his life once and for all. (Though the Mouse King dies, that actual character does not.) The Second's last scene is him carrying of the Mouse King's corpse. Seeing the Nutcracker in pain and dying, Clara instantly goes to his side and cries for him once more, but this time, the magic is in the kiss that she gives him in his few final moments. Instead of dying, however, magic flairs and the wooden Nutcracker is turned into a handsome Prince. The Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier can be found together, dancing, or kissing or holding hands, whatever you are comfortable with.

Scene Three
Clara's eyes flutter open and suddenly it is morning, but to her surprise, there is no Nutcracker to be found. As her mother and father come in, she asks them if they have seen him and she accuses Fritz for stealing him from her, but none of them have a clue as to what she is talking about. Drosselmeyer comes in at this time and behind him is a handsome young man, an exact identical to her Nutcracker Prince when he was turned human. Their gazes meet and they smile at each other. The curtain closes on that point and the production is complete. All characters can be found standing on a stage exactly as they had left the play and they are back in control of their own bodies. The end~

Act 1 - Scene 1

As the closed curtains began to open, Ame stood in the left corner of the stage in front of a nicely decorated, lit up Christmas tree. Standing beside her would be her brother, Fritz and behind her, her mother and father. As the scene began, her and Fritz would begin to play and a few moments later, Drosselmeyer would enter with a bag in hand, pulling out handmade dolls and giving them to the two children to play with. As the scene began, the landscape became reality and the show would would begin.

Clara sat on the floor playing with the new dolls that her Uncle and Godfather, Drosselmeyer had given to her and her brother to play with. Her smile was wide as she spun the doll, showing off the amazing tailored outfit it wore. Her own blue dress was sprawled out and she picked up the doll as she stood, running to her Uncle. "Uncle Drosselmeyer! Do you think you could make me a dress like this one?" She asked, spinning around with the doll. Though Ame was the role, her body was being taken over and the words just seemed to flow as if she were not the one actually producing them. It was a strange feeling, but for the sake of the show, she didn't fight it. Soon, she was playing with her brother again as she sat in front of him on the floor. She looked up to see her mother and father in quiet conversation with her Uncle.

As the scene continued, it was nearly time for the children to go to bed and Uncle Drosselmeyer took the dolls back , telling them they could have them again in the morning. The two children would fight their argument at their Uncle, sad to see the dolls go. "But Uncle! We only got to play for a short amount of time!" Her face was a pout as she put her hands together in a pleading notion. Their uncle, despite their begging, took the dolls and locked them away until morning. Before they were sent to bed, he took out another object and handed it to Clara. He explained that it was a nutcracker and her eyes lit up as she hugged the soldier in her arms. "He's wonderful Uncle!" She began to dance around with the nutcracker, not noticing the jealous gleam in her brother's eyes.

The two children were soon sent off to bed and the parents and Uncle Drosselmeyer followed not long after. When she was sure everyone was asleep, Clara folded her blankets over a crept silently out of her bedroom and down the stairs. As she walked into the living room, the room flickered with light from the tree, she noticed something different about her new Nutcracker. As she got closer her eyes widened and she picked up her pace, sprinting over to it. She took the doll in her hands and held him tightly. Tears fell atop the Nutcrackers head as she mourned the arm that had broken off. "Oh Nutcracker, I'm so sorry." More tears fell and suddenly, the clock chimed midnight. On the last ring, something magical came about and filled the room as an owl appeared upon the grandfather clock.

“GYAH!” A sharp knife plunged into the Assassin’s back, his body crumbling in an instant as he was taken out of existence. Several black bodies surrounded him and the man cursed; outnumbered and attacked with such swiftness, he would pay them back. But before he could even think about it, he felt a heat across his body. A second later, his eyes blanked out and he was stolen from the outer walls of Avon.

When his eyes opened and his consciousness returned, he was trapped. His body was stiff and he felt heavy. The Assassin tried to move, tried to make a noise, but as he looked around his eyes felt heavy. He looked left, thunk. He looked right, thunk. Up, thunk, down, thunk. Then, light flashed in his eyes. The lid of a box was opened and a massive hand came down from above. Saber’s eyes stiffened and suddenly his vision became locked; he could no longer look around as he was pulled out of his box. He saw a man grin at him and then he was passed to another. Voices echoed in the distance; familiar. Kitty? Where? Why? Saber thought, but another speck of magic quelled his thoughts. Suddenly, knowledge filled his brain. A name, a being. Who was he? Where was he? He… He was the Nutcracker.

An older aged man looked down at the Nutcracker, smiling and speaking about him as the toy was passed from the man to a young girl; familiar. Who was she? The Nutcracker could no longer answer that as he stared straight ahead, his body pulled into the young woman’s bosom. She started to dance with him. Unable to move, the Nutcracker could not resist. But why should he? To dance with someone so beautiful was truly a blessing and he would have bowed his head to any King to do so. His eyes stared straight, watching the girl in her joy. It was a pleasant sight. Yet as expected all good things came to an end. The girl was called, the Nutcracker was put down. The children left and he was alone. But not for long. The boy returned. His face could be easily read. He came over and with anger in his eyes, broke off the Nutcracker’s arm. There was no sorry in his eyes and the Nutcracker did not place blame. No, he was jealous. That was obvious. No, he would not place blame. The boy turned and slipped away, hurrying back off and to an unseen room. As the Nutcracker stood alone in the room he realized that he was no longer in his own world; he was not in the Land of Sweets anymore.

Act 1 - Scene 1 - End

Act 1 - Scene 2 - Begin

The nutcracker remained, his body stiff. There was something wrong, something missing. He felt weird, hot. Why? The Nutcracker did not know and he could not think of why he would feel strange. That was when the young girl returned. The Nutcracker watched, forcibly silent but mentally at ease, as she came down the stairs. She spotted his wound from a distance, her feet tapping just a little quicker as she rushed the remaining distance. Moment later, he was in her arms. It was warm here, in this home, in her arms. He would not place blame, but instead accepted the additional blessing. That, was when he felt her tears. On his head, he felt the dampness of her eye’s releasing their thin liquid. The sound of the clock chimed in his ears and soon, that damp feeling filled his body. The heat, he felt it grow. His eyes shifted, thunk, thunk, thunk. He looked up to the girl; Clara. His body slowly loosened and the Nutcracker felt it; life, freedom, strength. In her arms, he felt the hand of God wash over him. Slowly, he reached up and placed a hand on her bicep. He was alive. But, his wooden body still held him like a curse.

His body was stiff, but the Nutcracker could still move. Slowly, surely, he could feel more and more of his body becoming his own. Before, he was trapped in his wooden frame. Not now, not anymore! At the chime of midnight, he and the others in the room were being brought to life. The little one’s tears would not go to waste, not on this night… But all was not well, was it? No the eyes across the room opened and the Nutcracker could feel their glares. Out from the walls, the mice appeared, dressed well and armed sharp. The Nutcracker’s massive jaw rose up and clattered twice against the top set of wooden teeh and then his eyes drifted towards the mice. Thunk

“Turn back, Mouse King!” How dare he interrupt his embrace with the dear young lady! That was punishable by death! And the Nutcracker would have none of that! Their eyes were fiendish as well; he could sense their disdain. The Nutcracker was a new face to them, as they were to he. However, there was no diplomacy in their arrival. A newcomer, he was; and they were not here to accept him.

“You do not belong here!” He called out, a foolish line. Yet it came out anyways. This was his home now and he would not be pushed out so easily. Then, a thought crossed his mind; he probably should reattach his arm.

Dorian blinked repeatedly, the darkness around him keeping secrets that he longed for; where was he, how had he gotten here? It hadn't been the first time he had been left somewhere after being knocked unconscious, only he never remembered having been a victim of such an act. All he could recall was arriving in... Well, wherever he was now, he supposed. He attempted to shift where he stood, only to feel the uncomfortable sensation of something constricting his body. Wait, was that... a corset? Oh boy.

Suddenly, light began to pour in, as if curtains were being drawn open; only, it was curtains, large ones that spanned the entire stage which the Shaman had found himself on. He managed to catch a glimpse of the stage across from him, and saw various other characters, standing ready to do their parts of what Dorian assumed was a play; only, he recognised one of the characters. No, it couldn't be... Kitty? Surely this was some sort of dream. Wait... Why would...? Dorian made to shake his head, as if to turn his concentration back to what was going on, but for the life of him he could not move his own muscles. Managing to steal a glance down at himself, he spotted a rather peculiar sight. He was wearing a dress! No wonder he felt uncomfortable; but of course, that meant - if he was correct in guessing the nature of this play, a fond childhood memory flourishing in his mind - than he was the mother of this happy family; and the girl over there that looked like Kitty, that would be Clara. Well, this was going to be a long night...

Act 1 - Scene 1 - Begin

The scene began rather calmly, with the happy family all surrounding the Christmas tree. Mother, of course, was stood hovering over her children, fawning over their joy and precious smiles as they played together, keeping close as a hen would her precious, fragile eggs. She stepped back slightly, looking across to her husband, the handsome man she married all those years ago, moving in to place a peck on his cheek, despite the obvious disgruntled objections of the man playing her role... Nevertheless, it seemed it would of course be a beautiful and peaceful Christmas morning. Until of course, the latter was brought to an outcry of chaos.

Drosselmeyer, the toy maker and godfather to her children, Mother rolled her eyes as the children whisked themselves after him, eager to see what gifts he had in store for them in his bag. Dorian watched as Kitty... no, Clara... danced around with her toy, a doll with a fanciful dress woven over it's body. Mother had to quickly give the toy maker a stern look when he was asked for the dress to be made; such things cost much money, and she didn't want to spoil her precious daughter too much. But, thankfully, time continued on peacefully, albeit with added vigour from the children as they enjoyed their new toys. Stepping off to one side, Drosselmeyer began the idle conversation between him-... herself and her husband.

"Thank you, Drosselmeyer, for coming... I know how busy your schedule is this time of year." Dorian's voice came out in a rather effeminate tone, obviously attempting to mock up a faux female voice for the mother, much to his vocal chords chagrins. "Ah, you know me; anything for my favourite godchildren," Drosselmeyer replied, Mother laughing contently and nodding her head. They had chosen their godfather well in this one, she knew it. Eventually, their conversations continued on, until it was soon time to put Clara and Fritz to bed. "Come along now both of you, bed time; your toys will be here for you in the morning, I promise," Mother cooed in her sweetest voice. But of course, Drosselmeyer could not rest without making Clara smile one last time.

Out came the Nutcracker, a stylish little toy that Clara seemed to light up at the sight of. "He has a way with them, does he not?" Making her idle, hushed comments to her husband, Mother finally put her foot down, moving forward to stand between Clara and Drosselmeyer with hands on her hips, a rather uncomfortable pose for Dorian to make, but unfortunately he had less choice in the matter. "Now now, no more playing until morning, young lady." Mother smiled softly, bending down to plant a soft peck on her young daughter's forehead, before ushering her and Fritz to their rooms for bed. Releasing a happy, relaxed sigh, Dorian nodded to hi... her husband, bidding Uncle Drosselmeyer farewell as he left. With the day quickly coming to close, Mother followed her beloved to their own room; after all, they'd need all of their energy for tomorrow's... celebrations.
