Appearance Reference image From top to bottom Lyra stands at a less than imposing five feet tall which certainly makes her shorter than most of the other races. While she has no distinguishing marks on his face or the rest of his body, it is difficult to deny how adorable she looks, which was something that Emilia chose by design to mirror her own cuteness in game. Physically she has a slim almost pencil like build that helps not to weigh her down and cause any sort of encumbrance which would render her less effective in hostile situations. Her face is perfectly symmetrical and is aesthetically pleasing on the eyes which is meant to put people more at ease around her. Her eyes of course are oval shaped and even has an unusual tone of gray to them; almost like silver. Her ears are of course normal human ears and have no distinguishing piercings to speak of; because of her hair they are hidden most of the time. Her hair itself is mostly charcoal black in color; though there is obviously red mixed in there as well. She prefers to keep it short so that it goes just past her neckline; but lets it flow freely and get messy. When it comes to her choice of clothes she prefers a more a mix of sensible and fashionable though mostly leaning towards sensible. Being someone who is more magically inclined than the other classes she chose to garb himself in simply cloth armor with caster robes on top of that. Nothing too heavy as to impede her movement but durable enough to help fight against most types of weather she would expect to encounter in the game. This type of fashion mirrors what she generally likes to wear in real life. As in real life she likes to present himself with a proud standing posture that exudes her confidence that he carries around himself all the time. Making a good impression is very important to her and she does so in such a way that it seems almost natural to her. | Personality There are a handful of ways that could be used to describe how Lyra acts both in private and the eye of the public. To say she is intelligent is a bit of a fair assessment since she has tested to have an above average intelligence than normal; which never really got to her head. Getting nearly top grades in all of her classes she is noteworthy in the world of academics but that is not without its draw backs. She always has her nose in a book whenever she is at school; she always has to top herself on every test. She is constantly observing her surroundings in order to effectively make proper decisions whenever the situation calls for it. Granted she is not perfect at reading people but generally she can get a read on someone the longer she converses with a person. Which comes in handy at making her more adaptable meeting new people and making new friends. Despite her book worm behavior Lyra likes to consider herself a social butterfly and is always eager to try new things. It’s a mix of both her school life and social life which occasionally strains her when balancing the two. It goes to say that she is a bit of a talker and could go on talking for hours on end if no one stops her. On top of that there are times where she doesn’t exactly thing before speaking; which obviously can get her in trouble. Most of the time there is a cheery and heartwarming smile on her face which usually seems to brighten up people in sullen moods. Of course while she likes to put on a brave face she is constantly struggling with her own issues of self-doubt. She criticizes herself all the time which can cause her to make mistakes; which then turn her into a fumbling mess. Sometimes she can even become so focused on cheering up others that it causes sacrifices with her own well being. Mostly it stems from her insane study habits and the need to better herself in academics. Really school is the only thing she is good at but she knows that it will come to an end one day. Lyra isn’t a fan of spots given her short stature and slim build but she has some affinity for gaming; even if she isn’t the best at it. |

Biography
Emilia was born in London with a fairly standard life with her parents in the normality of middle class; really she didn’t really have much to complain about. She was a generally happy girl and hardly ever cried over anything; it certainly made raising her that much easier. From early on it was clear that she was an explorer and liked to meet new people. The kind of girl who would walk up to strangers and start a conversation with them; much to the dismay of her parents who were concerned with her wandering off randomly. Other than starting to blossom as a social butterfly Emilia showed an interest in reading and it would become her past time for the rest of her life. It was a bit of an odd contrast for a girl who enjoyed spending hours on end with her nose in a book. A girl who at the same time liked to explore out doors and play with others.
For her adapting to the school life was an easy transition for Emilia; as someone who loved meeting people and books it was very appealing. Sure it was a little rough at first when she didn’t know anyone but that was remedied quickly. From the start of school to high school making friends came naturally to her. On top of that she had a knack for academics; Emilia loved to study and loved being challenged. Of course she saw no real appeal of any sort of physical activity; she was short and as skinny as a twig so certainly not built for those kind of activities. She was content with reading and hanging with her friends; at least until she found the wonder that was video games. Particularly her affinity was for role playing games since they were close to her favorite genre of books. So it is only natural that eventually Elder Tale would pop up on her radar.
While things were going very well for her in high school things weren’t so happy go lucky in regards to her home life. After her father got laid off from his job after fifteen years sadly he turned to alcohol to deal with his onset depression. While he never actually raised a hand to his daughter he instead chose to verbally abuse her; calling her worthless and a failure. Despite her nearly top marks all the time he expected nothing but the best from her. Which drove her to push herself even harder; all of her father’s cruel words festered as self-doubt. It could cause her to question almost all of her actions and try to be the best; failure would cause her to lose her composure. Of course Emilia would keep her up her cheery demeanor so no one would ever question her personal problems. All the while her passion for books, games, and her friends kept her going.
Emilia started to follow the game simply for the reason a multiplayer role playing game greatly interested her. As October of 2018 rolled around she was thrilled to learn that they would be creating a new server based in the United Kingdom. As an eighteen year old who just found a passion for gaming it certainly got her excited to actually play it. Which made her satisfied to know that her after school job would hopefully be enough to allow her to preorder the game. Her current desktop required a bit of a work over once the system specifications were released but she was content all of the same she could run it. It came as no surprise that her preorder was one of the many of thousands of people who were all eager to get into the game as soon as the server went live. However all of her excitement was unable to prepare her for December 11th 2018.
It didn’t take long for the dread of not being able to log out of the game dawned on Emilia. All of the joy of making her character and class had been taken away. The first few weeks were the worst as she tried to keep telling herself that the problem would be resolved quickly. After the first month she had to accept that it might be a long time until she was able to go home. Of course that didn’t mean she was thrilled to do much of anything asides stay in the safety of the starting zone. Mostly out of the dread of her not being able to revive; at least until they learned that adventurers re-spawned at the nearest cathedral. The normally social girl generally kept to herself for a good while at least until she started to experiment and summon her three followers. Turns out that Carbuncle would be her favored follower who befriended her first.
Over the next two years she would try to learn everything she could about the game without actually leaving the safe zone. She and Carbuncle could spend time together as they walked around the city. At the very least being stuck in Elder Tale meant escaping her father; though at the same time Emelia feared for her mother’s safety. While her new friend was able to keep her spirits up there was the ache in her heart for her normal life. She had grown stagnant while not doing any adventuring but there was still the fear of death; subconsciously it was her drive to avoid any sort of danger. It was Carbuncle who eventually talked her up to start playing the game. She was reminded of her intimal excitement for the game and there was so much to see in the world. Perhaps things weren’t so bad after all; this was a new life that she was going to finally start enjoying.
