‘Just another day in paradise,’ Kynn thought to herself as she walked through the market center. Though she had plans so it really wasn’t another day, and she was trapped inside a game against her will so not really paradise either… so what would it be again? Eh, it didn’t matter that much. What did matter was that Kynn was on a quest… well, her own personal quest. She had originally decided on a crafting class of Alchemist but decided to change it to Blacksmith… why? She wasn’t really sure… maybe it was because she thought making swords would be more fun than making crystals. However her problem was that she knew nothing about blacksmithery. Which was why she was in the market place. The place was called St. Pancras Station… which sounded like some magical organ where it would play music… but that was beside the point.
Kynn was walking around, checking out the booths that were set up everywhere. A lot of the places had pretty crafts set up, and she had to keep reminding herself that she was looking for a blacksmither…
Oof!
Kynn hadn’t been watching where she was going and ran into someone, and she had fallen back onto her butt.
“Sorry about that!” Kynn said looking up, “I wasn’t watching where I was going.” The person in front of her had stopped and looked down at her.
“It’s fine,” the other person said as Kynn stood up, “Just keep your eyes open.” The other person began to walk away, and Kynn had a thought.
“E-excuse me!” Kynn called out, jogging to catch up with the person. The other person stopped ant turned to look at Kynn. “I’m not used to this town,” Kynn explained, “Can you tell me where I can find a smithery?”
The other person blinked a few times, “You mean a blacksmith?”
“Uh, yes!”
“You’re a monk,” the person said, “You don’t need any weapons.” The other person was looking at Kynn kind of meanly.
“Well, you see…” Kynn started, looking down at her hands as she twiddled her thumbs, “I’m looking for someone who can teach me how to make stuff.”
“You’re looking for a mentor then?” the person paused, “You’re in the wrong area. You should head back into the main market square where the Lander shops are. They’d be your best bet.”
“O-oh,” Kynn sighed. She turned to walk away when she tripped into some crates and tumbled forward… with the crates ending up around her. When Kynn tried to stand up, she ended up falling back down with the crates now on top of her.
Kynn heard someone walk over to near where she was… and then the crates on top of her were suddenly sent flying, and the person standing over her was the person she had been talking to.
“Follow me,” they said briskly. They waited for Kynn to stand up, and then they began to walk quickly away from the station.
“Um, what’s your name?” Kynn asked the person as they walked through the streets.
“Sayha,” the person responded.
“Well, thank you for your help, Sayha,” Kynn said happily, “I’m Kynn. Though Sayha why are you helping me?”
“Because I in good conscious cannot let someone like you mess with molten metal without supervision.”
Kynn had no idea what Sayha meant, but she shrugged it off. No point in questioning a person wearing all black that didn’t talk much.
