Ringo was walking for about an hour already. Finding the woods wasn't a hard task, however, finding their inhabitants was a different matter. The brushes were bustling with sounds as he trudged along a narrow path between the trees with the sun shining through the leaves. He clutched his hatchet with both hands, ready to smack anything that would jump at him. Suddenly from behind he heard a loud "plomp"- like sound as if a very large drop of water fell onto packed earth. The abrupt sound made him instantly turn around. What he saw before him was a strange creature- its green, matte, jelly- like body was partially see through. It had no observable eyes or mouth so to speak which made Ringo look up to the trees thinking that might be just snot of some bigger monster. Luckily for him the tree crown over the thing contained nothing asaide from leaves... plus the blob was too lively to be just waste. All of his remaining doubts disappeared completely when a nameplate and a health bar appeared over its head. "Dull Slime, lvl 1" he read quietly. The creature did not look too threatening. Ringo tightened his grip. This was it, his first battle. A shred of excitement ran through his body as he raised his weapon and plunged forward. As his swung down, certain of his hit, the small creature dodged. His axe hit the ground leaving a small, slit like mark and a loud dull noise. He could hear the bushes rustling somewhere in the distance. The creature looked unfazed, slowly "plomping" its way forward, as if it simply ignored the attacker. Then it hit him- it did not dodge... he simply missed it and thus no aggro was created. Maybe it was because of him not being accustomed to making any more complicated actions than running with this new body of his, or maybe this was simply the ultimate lack of luck. Either way, he was not keen on letting his "first pray" just run like that. He quickly raised his axe, this time slightly to the side. He once more plunged and this time hit the thing. He noticed the health bar of the creature lower by about 1/3. The creature seemed to be shocked for a fraction of a second before it retaliated. Ringo could not dodge or avoid in anyway what was to come. The slime expanded upwards and smacked his thigh. His own hp bar lowered. "Oww...!" he exclaimed. It did not hurt much... alas it still smarted a bit. He swung his axe as the creature retracted, shaving its hp bar to around of 1/3 of its initial value. The creature staggered and after a second expanded again. This time he managed to step to the side, getting his clothes only grazed a bit. He Swung again and as his hit landed. The creature convoluted. Its body began to shine with dim light and it dispersed into dozens, if not hundreds of bubbles. A caching of few gold coins could be heard. It was done. His first battle just finished in victory. A wide grin appeared on his cute face as his collected the few gold pieces that were left by his opponent. He counted the spoils of 3 gold and put them into a small bag dangling from his waist. Its always something! He thought to himself. After standing for like 5 seconds, relishing his victory, he moved forward. The slime's attack took something around 5% from his total health, from which 2 already healed. It seemed that he would be able to continue for a bit. *** After few more fights and gaining some bruises he trudged to a clearing in the forest's roof. A lone tree stood at a centre of a small glade. He did not felt tired, however his hp was decreased by a bit. He might as well enjoy himself during this stroll of his. He looked around and since there were no apparent monsters around he decided to take a break. He sat down under the lone tree. |
