A New Start As Sanary opened her eyes, she heard different voices from different people and things. She slowly sat up and looked around her surroundings. People were wearing clothes…clothes like in fantasy and MMORPGs—wait a minute… MMORPGS, huh? Sanary stood up quickly and did that thing… that thing like how a dog was chasing its own tail. She looked around more to know more of where she is. “This place seems… strange…” Sanary muttered quietly. People wearing strange clothes… a strange place with no technology…wielding weapons and armor… She looked down to look at her bow. It was a simple starter bow, but at least she has a weapon. She also has basic clothing, but it looks peculiar. It isn’t the simple shirt and pants or skirt like before—no, it’s different now. It’s like clothing for those heroes in fantasy and adventure fiction, you know, fighting monsters… saving the world—wait… Sanary realized something. “Maybe…maybe this is a chance that I will be a hero…” But then she shook her head as she heard screams from other people. “MOMMY! Mommy please help me!” Sanary widened her eyes as she saw a small figure of a girl with fox ears, a tail and a kimono like Samurai wear. ‘She looks young…’ Then she saw… a cat standing on two legs. ‘What the—?! Cats can’t stand on two legs!’ Sanary thought. Then she saw… well, an elf. And…well, a human just like Sanary herself. She cannot believe the things she saw. Then suddenly a window showed up: Sanary / Race: Human / Class: Assassin / Lv. 01She simply stayed silent and kept on looking. What’s more, she saw two bars. The top bar, which had the slope shading from splendid yellow to dim green, had “HP” on it and the numbers ’310/310’. The base bar, which had the angle shading from dim purple to dull blue, had “MP” on it and also the numbers ’310/310’. “Woah…” Sanary muttered. “Is this… Londinium…?”

A New Start Sanary’s wide and surprised eyes looked around again. “I can’t believe it,” she muttered. “I’m in Elder Tale…” And for her to get proof for herself, she touched the ground, herself, and trees she is beside. This makes her double-minded, since she cannot believe she is inside the game, but at the same time is convinced that the things and people around her are real. Sanary can’t really decide, because she also has a weird fear of being wrong and being corrected, so this makes her an indecisive person. And her choices? It’s a good thing that she was away from what happened between her and the bullies that blackmailed her. But it’s also a bad thing because she’s stuck here forever and can’t log out. Wait…log out… “Could we log out, actually?”The people heard her. “Log out? Did she say log out?” She ignored the voices around her and opened the menu, and so did the other people. But as she pressed the log out button, there was a cross that shows denying access. “What?” Sanary kept pressing, but the cross always shows up. “AH!” she angrily closed the menu and continued, “I—We can’t log out!” she noticed people are surrounding her, so she corrected herself. “Now what are we gonna do?” she asked, but the people only shrugged, which made Sanary pout. ––––– Sanary kicked a cloud of dust out of boredom. There wasn’t anything to do here, so she wants to go home, back to the real world. “Ugh,” she moaned as she lied down. There can’t find monsters to fight with, and so she sighed. And then she realized something. The level cap was 100. And who cares? Sanary does. “I’ll be one of the people to reach that level…” she muttered with ambition as she stood up again and made a fist. “I’m sure of it.” Then she smiled with that thought inside her head.
