Saiph had suddenly become incredibly grateful for the train system. The square where the Sages were wasn’t horribly far from Paddington Station, and Saiph and Sayha were able to catch the next train to the Isle of Grain. The train went through a few stations before Sayha told him to disembark. He didn’t mind though as he had never been to the Isle of Grain before, and it seemed that Sayha knew it at least decently. She took the lead, which she seemed to do quite regularly now, and took him to the harbor and shipyard.
The shipyard was quite massive despite the fact that the Isle of Grain seemed relatively small… and also because he wasn’t quite sure where the ships sailed to and from. After all, the far north past Avon hadn’t been mapped, and both Sarum and Avon were land-locked. Though, there were many smaller islands that dotted the Thames Coastline, but from his knowledge, no one had bothered to even map those places. It wasn’t a surprise though because he couldn’t image a lot of people wanting to swim to the isles to map them. Of course row boats… still probably not worth the effort, at least not yet.
Saiph decided to take his time to look around while Sayha… wait, where had Sayha gone off to? He looked around, but the assassin had seemed to vanish. Saiph shrugged and decided that looking around was exactly what he was going to do.
There were four ships in port with two docks being empty. There were crates everywhere… and the distinct smell of fish. Saiph had forgotten that you could fish would make more sense as to why there were harbors.
As Saiph was studying the boats, he finally saw the assassin. She was talking to a man aboard one of the ships, but they were standing too far away for him to understand what was going on. He waited for her to disembark before approaching.
“The boat captain on this ship,” Sayha motioned towards the ship she was just on, “is willing to take you to the Isle. Something came up, and I have to leave you flying solo from here. Oh, he won’t wait for you for a return trip so getting back is on you.”
Saiph nodded, “I think I can handle it on my own anyway. I’ll let you know if I hear anything else on Hecate.”
Sayha returned the nod, “Just be careful. Make sure you don’t get in over your head.” She eyed him once over before turning and heading away from the docks. Where she was headed, he had no idea, and it wasn’t his place to ask. She had helped him way more than he had thought she would.
Before he could think more on the topic, the Captain called for Saiph to board, and he obeyed. Once he was on board, the Captain instructed him to find a spot that was out of the way and wait. He didn’t argue and found a place in the front part of the deck. He adjusted the strap over his shoulder and waited and watched.

The sun was beginning to set now, and the sky was painted in hues of pink and orange. It was a scene he saw a lot of now that he was his new world. His new reality. It had been a tough pill to swallow, realizing that he probably would never be home again. Never see his parents, his brothers, his old friends. He had been known for his cool and calm analysis which was why he was so good at his job. However, it seemed that it all went out the window the day he went back to trying Elder Tales again. And suddenly, Sayha’s warnings seemed more ominous.
However, worrying did no good. The best thing Saiph could do was a step back and breathe. He would take whatever was going to happen one step at a time. He felt the ship suddenly move. Time for the Isle of Thule.
It didn’t take long for the ship to arrive on the Isle of Thule, and the boat disappeared as quickly as it had gotten Saiph to the Isle. He watched as it sailed away, back to the Isle of Grain if he had to guess. He was on his own now, and there was no going back.
Saiph took his first steps and decided to head inward. It would make sense for the fountain on the tablet would not be near the coast. If it lasted as long as it supposedly had, it would definitely be in a courtyard at least.
As Saiph began to walk towards the center of the isle, he stumbled upon some things he didn’t anticipate. There was a cobblestone path that he could walk on, and it led to what was probably once a city or at least a town. The town was in ruins though, and it looked like it had been abandoned for quite a few years, and by years, Saiph meant decades, maybe even centuries. It was near impossible to tell.
However as Saiph made his way through the ruined town, he could see one building in the center of town that seemed to be more intact than the rest of the town. That was where he decided to go.

The building, though it looked more intact at a distance, did not look very sturdy up close. There were cracks all over the building, and it looked like if enough force were to hit the wall, the entire building would just crumble to nothing. The idea of being buried under rubble did not sit well with Saiph so he was very cautious when it came to walking in… and he didn’t even walk in a doorway as he thought it had been. It was a huge gaping hole… and as Saiph studied the hole, he realized that it looked more recent than the other damage everywhere else. It concerned him as he had no idea what could cause such damage.
Saiph shook of his concerns and forged inward through the mazing hallways. He had gotten lost more times than he cared to admit. After a while of wandering rather aimlessly, he finally found himself in a large domed courtyard… with a fountain in the center.
It was an emasculate fountain that almost seemed out of place. It was the same color and style as the dilapidated buildings around town, but something about it was just… wrong. Maybe it was just in his head though.
Saiph went over to the fountain and looked down into the water. It was incredibly deep, deeper than he thought it was possible. Down at the very bottom, something caught his eye. There was something glowing at the very bottom, but it was so small, he couldn’t tell what it was. However, he could feel power emanating from whatever was at the bottom. That was what he was after. Now all he had to do was retrieve it.
The water looked too deep to swim, but Saiph didn’t have much of a choice… or did he? Saiph noted where he was and began to look around for something that he could use to pull the item out of the water. Then a thought hit him. If the item was small enough he might be able to force the item out of the water using his magic. It would be a very difficult task, even for Saiph, but it was worth a shot.
Saiph pulled his rifle out in front of him and aimed the gun towards the water. Using his <Mana Arrow> ability, he focused his magic and shot it into the water. His first shot missed where he needed to shoot. He took a deep breath and refocused his aim. This time, he hit his mark, and Saiph could see the glow move up slowly. He shot again below the glow, and the glow moved upwards again due to the attack. It was working. For the next few moments, Saiph continued to shoot the item up until it was almost at the top. When it was closer to the top, Saiph let his rifle hang from the strap it was on and grabbed the item with his own hands. It was a glowing blue orb no larger than a marble, and his interface told him it was called the <Pebble of Philosophy>.

[attr="class","capsol"] As the sniper had begun to , and the sniper had started to assault it with their weapon, a loud explosion could be heard not too far from where he stood. Smoke pillowed up from the place where the explosion had occurred, and a bright light shone from behind. As the smoke began to fade slowly, two shadowy figures could be seen. One was rather thin, though their hair pointed out like a missile, with a thin katana in one hand. The other, a hulking mass of man, wielding a large shield and blade. As the smoke began to clear further, the two figures could be more easily seen, and one could tell that they were making a pose of some kind. Back to back, they stood, silently, as the rubble around them began to settle. Just as it was doing so, their voices rang out in tandem.
"BEHOLD!!" The men shouted, flourishing their weaponry forward, clearing out the smoke. The two had started to step out into view, as they continued their introduction.
The voice of the hulking man had begun to speak. "One, thin, and commanding a fast and powerful blade, unable to be seen by the naked eye when it is swung! His strength of will was not to be questioned, nor was his strength of arms!"
The thinner man spoke, in response. "The other, tall, massive, and keeper of the legendary sword and shield combination, as tall as his own body! The stalwart defender can swing his mighty sword, while protecting those behind his great shield!" Their figures had become fully visible by this point, as the smoke dispersed enough, and they had walked out into plain sight. "Marco and Gauze, the two second-sturdiest tanks in the world, have arrived!!!"
Interesting... One, a sniper. Two, a Guardian. Three, a Samurai. All of which were fools. Though the sniper was trying to get the Pebble that the monster held, it would be a futile effort. What the child didn't understand was that the object wasn't moving up on its own. Nay, it was being carried up. By none other than Brachyura, the Genius of the Seas. As the monster rose, its force began to shake the ground. Eventually, it surfaced from the waters of the fountain, and caused a huge splash as it came up. Brachyura looked down at its opponents, whose efforts would be so vainly wasted. The Pebble was his, and none would take it!
As the creature stirred, they began to hold their weapons in the correct stances, while both had begun to activate some skills. The Samurai activated the [Samurai's Challenge] ability, while the Guardian began to advance quickly forward. Marco, the Guardian, had charged up and near the giant grab monster, activating a skill. "Anchor Howl!!" He shouted, activating the skill. Gauze, the Samurai, had started to dash to the other side of the monster. Their technique was to get the crab being to continue keeping his aggro on Gauze, with the intention of it activating Marco's skill, which would shift the aggro tables in his favor. Such is their opening move: Samurai's Howl! Now that the two tanks were on the scene, Marco could focus on keeping aggro, while Gauze could help with damaging, and picking up aggro where it was needed. Their strategy was flawless, and they would keep this sniper-like guy alive, for the sake of getting Marco's clear of this instance!
So they mean to play tricks, did they? Perhaps Brachyura would play along, and see how this went along. Of course, his attention had been fixed on the Samurai, as he ran over to attack. Brachyura's arm swung widely, but not too long before he started to launch a spell of his own. [Purgatory Bubble] on the sniper would do nicely. It could be easily dodged, yes, but that wasn't the main point of the attack. No no, they wanted Brachyura's attention? They shall have it. His eyes fixed upon the Samurai, as his body began to leap forward in a powerful dash. [Bulldoze] ought to teach these foolish mortals their place, while also claiming their lives. None would have this Pebble... None would take Brachyura's treasure! NONE!!!

An explosion made Saiph jump just as he felt his brain suddenly get pummeled by images. They were visions or as close to visions and she was ever going to get. Most of them seemed to take place in a city that was very much not Londinium. The buildings were painted different colors, and all the people he saw were People of the Land. There was something important going on, and he needed to figure out what was going on. However, he didn’t have the chance, at least not yet. As the visions faded, Saiph was pulled back into the present by two rather large people yelling. They called themselves Marco and Gauze… and Saiph had no idea what to think of them.
Just as he was about to make himself scarce, a giant monster appeared in the water where the Pebble had once been, and Saiph took a few movements backwards. The monster was a blue humanoid crab monster like nothing that he had ever seen before. It had four legs and four crab pincers instead of arms. Its name was Brachyura. Rank: Field Boss. Type: Genius. Genius?
Suddenly the words of the assassin echoed in his head: “Expect the unexpected.” Well, this was certainly unexpected, especially as it was a level 90 and Saiph was only level… 90? How was that possible? He opened up his list of attacks to see that it was filled with abilities he hadn’t learned quite yet.
Saiph made more movement backwards… just as the two who had announced themselves made their own movements. It seemed that they were helping Saiph… why? He had no idea. He had never met them, not from what he could remember. It would be something to figure out. Later, of course. Now was the time to fight… or was it.
The crab-monster seemed to focus on the samurai, Gauze if Saiph was reading his interface correctly. However, that monster also shot out an attack on Saiph. Just before the attack would have hit, Saiph activated <Blink> and ended up five meters to his left as that was where he was aiming. Then the crab-monster ran right into the samurai with a huge attack. However, there was nothing Saiph could do about it as he was not a healer. For now, he needed to focus on what he could do which was damage.
Saiph knelt down on one knee where he was and aimed his rifle at the crab-monster, activating <Thunderbolt Crash> on the rifle. The rifle began to spark, and Saiph shot a few bullets at the crab-monster. It seemed that they didn’t do any damage from what Saiph could tell, but that wasn’t all he was aiming for. At the end of the rifle, Saiph focused his mana and magic to form a lighting orb, <Serpent Bolt>. After a few seconds, Saiph shot it at the crab monster, causing the monster to now have sparks rolling off of it. Then, Saiph activated one of his new skills he gained from his level 90 status: <Lightning Chamber>. A pentagram of blue lighting appeared underneath Brachyura and began to damage the monster. It was a good start to the fight, but Saiph would have to play close attention to the two men who had just appeared. Hopefully they would be able to take instruction should the case arise.

[attr="class","capsol"] Ohohoho... Watch as the tiny, itty bitty pawns dance for my amusement. How adorable, I must think... That they think their fighting is enough to stop me! Brachyura, the Final Boss of this realm!
As I have already expected, the sniper in the back was able to dodge my attack. However, the Samurai wasn't quite as lucky. He was still hit by my massive form. Pity for him, though, as this isn't even my final one... If it were, he would expect to be dead in mere seconds! But, alas, I have yet to reveal such a form, as the world itself has not angered me nearly enough today. But, one day, it shall be unleashed. And when that day comes, the seas will tower above the land, and come crashing down, as though it were the air the humans breathe. The world shall be covered in the salty brine by which I have come forth, and none shall hold the stone that is so preciously mine! NONE! The Pebble of Philosophy shall be mine, now and forever!
Oh, but I could not expect the humans to sit idly by as I began to pummel the Samurai. How silly of me to think that they recognize my true power from the start. A sudden strike of lightning hit my side from the sniper, causing me to grow slightly more angered. It didn't hurt all that much, but it still... Stung. Soon afterwards, some more strikes had made their way to my outer shell. Almost as though they would do anything against me. Of course, the humans at my feet continued to attack, but they didn't use any special skills. Yet, for some reason... The Samurai still bothered me... What kind of a moron wears their hair like that!? It's as though they aren't even their own selves! They're not a shadow... They are not their true self at all!
I must do something about this foolish Samurai, but that Sniper over on the side is causing some problems, too. I'd better see if I can attack them somehow... Yes, yes of course! My penultimate skill, [Brilliant Prism]! That should handle the Sniper for a minute, whilst I deal with these smaller flies! I began to charge up and send the bubbles over towards the Sniper, and soon enough, they would fire their powerful light at him. Once that was done, I leaped up into the air. Even a master Magician, such as myself, has physical prowess as well! [Megaton Slam] would cause these two ants enough trouble to get them off my back for a minute! Neither of them seem to know what I'm doing, so this attack is sure to be a success... Time for my Serious Punch!!
As Brachyura slammed into the ground, Gauze and Marco were stunned by the immediate impact range. Brachyura walked over towards the Samurai, and glared.

The fight seemed to be going okay for the time being. The random samurai and guardian seemed to be holding their own. They were definitely doing their job and keeping the giant Brachyura’s aggro. However, it seemed that they couldn’t keep all of it necessarily. It seemed that the crab man was intent on attacking Saiph, even if it was only one attack. Bubbles suddenly appeared in the air and began to float so that they were all aligned towards Saiph. Light suddenly came through the bubbles and hit Saiph head on. It burned him pretty well, but he rolled out of the light after a few seconds and used his gun to shoot down the bubbles.
Once the bubbles were no more, Saiph turned his focus back to the enemy. First, however, he activated one of his new skills, Force Shield, so that there was a slight blue tint around him. The barrier would help protect him from another ranged attack… at least he hoped. Then he raised his weapon to the sky, sending mana upwards and charging his next ability. Once his mana was fully charged, he targeted Brachyura, activating <Magi Lightning, Grand Fall>. That attack seemed to do a decent amount of damage which made Saiph give a smirk.
Next, he looked back at his skill list… <Energy Fraction> seemed interesting so he toggled it to be active. Then he aimed his rifle at Brachyura and began to fire off more <Mana Arrows>. This time, though, the arrows were now yellow and dealing a bit more damage than they had been before. However, the arrows also took quite a bit more of his mana than they had before. Saiph stopped attacking and waited for a moment. Spamming abilities until his mana was all gone would be bad. He needed a new plan.
