New Acquaintances It has been at least three or four days since the Catastrophe. The people, including Shanalua herself, had no clue of who or whatever caused this shocking and unexpected event. And now? Look at her. She’s simply Layla Johnson, except with peculiar clothing and a rapier. Her brownish-orange hair, her hazel eyes, her height of 5’5” has been passed down to her character, Shanalua. Shanalua looked at her menu for a bit, and then she saw her character stats: Shanalua / Race: Human / Class: Swashbuckler / Lv. 01 “Yeah… It does feel like Elder Tale itself…” she muttered as she continued to look down at her HP and MP bars: HP: 320 / MP: 300 To make her feel more… okay, she wandered around the place while looking around her surroundings. There were stores, other players and People of the Land. And what are People of the Land? Also simply known as Landers, they are the NPCs of Elder Tale. Somehow, Shanalua thinks it felt kind of unique, since other MMORPGs call their NPCs… well, NPCs. Actually, it felt nice wandering around a peaceful place where the panic which struck them three or four days ago was gone. Hmm… peaceful… ‘Maybe I should make friends to be more… peaceful, I guess?’ Shanalua thought as she kept wandering until she bumped onto someone. “Ouch!” she yelled as she bumped onto that person. She immediately stood up and apologized to that person at the same time. “S-Sorry...” Shanalua apologized as she bowed down to the person and blushed. Whoever it is, she felt shy to bump onto someone. Especially if it’s a… guy. But she shook her head and said shyly, “I-I have to go…” Then she continued walking forward after she said that, with her blush fading little by little until it disappeared. Who was that anyway?

| Four days have passed. Ringo walked down one of the streets of Londonium, thinking about the events of past few days. From what he could tell the initial storm of feelings both bad and wrong has died among the people. At least for now. It seemed that there currently where three major divisions among the people: the ones who gave into despair and simply vegetated, the proactive ones who were eager to explore this brave and people who did not decided upon anything. The second group even started to form guilds and such, and also explore the...
THUD! Ringo lost his balance and almost fell to the ground. At the very last moment he managed to somehow regain his composure and regain his balance.
"H... hey!" He exclaimed. A girl just bumped into him. She had long hair, light brown hair and quite a pretty face.
"S-Sorry...” she muttered. “I-I have to go…”
As if nothing the girl just started walking again. At first he thought that she was pretty tall, she was after all as tall as him... Then he remembered that he is now not as tall as he used to be...
"That is a no way to apologize to someone you just almost toppled over, young lady!" He said with a stern look on his pretty face in the girl's general direction. His super manly, unfit for his looks voice echoed through the street. If one of his younger sibling bumped into someone, he would make them apologize appropriately... well this was not one of his siblings... then again he was simply curious as to why the girl walked without no attention to her surrounding... just like he did.

New Acquaintances “That is a no way to apologize to someone you just almost toppled over, young lady!” Shanalua heard someone said. “Huh?” she turned her head to where the stern voice came from. She didn’t see someone, or maybe she’s just too lazy to look for that voice. She just simply shrugged and continued walking. But she stopped because she was still curious about that voice. “I should find that guy…” Shanalua muttered and walked back to where she bumped some person. Then she saw a short female with waist long charcoal hair, and maybe she’s the person she bumped into. So no problems, then— “Like I said, that’s no way to apologize to someone you just almost toppled over!” the girl said with a man’s voice. Wait, she’s a he? Shanalua just stood there like she cannot believe what she heard and saw. Well, he looks like a girl! “Umm… sorry?”To Shanalua, it felt kind of awkward now, despite being the man being shorter than her. Kind of funny actually, but still, she’s a girl, he’s a guy, and then they bumped onto each other. Simple. But yeah, still awkward and somehow funny… “So… how are you… umm, sir?”

| Ringo raised his brows. At first he thought that the girl would simply continue walking. However, she turned around. He noticed confusion on her face for a second.
“Umm… sorry?"
She was most certainly not sure whether he is a "he" or a "she". Since the incident that transported them to the world of Elder Tale he felt different. He wasn't scared nor stressed... simply anxious. He pondered on what happened for last few days and wasn't sure what to do. This could also be the reason why he reacted so sharply to such a menial thing as someone bumping into him. This girl must have, just like him, be confused about the whole situation. If he thought about what just happened for a bit longer than a second, he would probably came to the conclusion he now did- that it was stupid of him to demand bigger apology than the lass gave him. He shouldn't have stopped her and just kept walking... but now it was too late... he got himself into an unneeded situation.
"So… how are you… umm, sir?”
An invisible light bulb just flashed over his head. This could be a good occasion to blow off some steam. Ringo grinned in his own head and made the most girlish pose he could come up with. He switched his weight to the right leg and put his right hand on his hip. He put the other hand onto his chest. With a silly smile on his face he said in the most manly voice that he could muster:
"Excuuuuuse me but... I'm a lovely lady!"
He sent a nonchalant wink towards the girl. It wasn't his style... hell, he even wasn't sure what he was doing... Nonetheless... he simply wanted to talk with someone. Even someone who considers himself a loner like him needed that from time to time.

New Acquaintances “Excuuuuuse me but... I'm a lovely lady!” That line made Shanalua go confused. First, she thought that he’s a she, then she’s a he, and he’s a she again. Confusing, right? But it’s also funny in a way, and it’s like that guy’s having a split personality disorder… maybe not. Maybe it’s just because reasons. But still, it’s funny. “You’re a lovely lady?” Shanalua asked. “But you sounded like a guy earlier…” And that’s the point. Sounding like a guy earlier, but is a lovely lady now. Confusing, it is, but like as said before, it’s also funny. “And like I said, how are you, sir… or should I say… ma’am?”The ‘or should I say ma’am’ part… it’s like that ‘or should I say…’ cliché. Seriously. But yeah, not really a cliché, but still it’s sort of commonly used. Shanalua kind of dislikes clichés for being…well, clichés, but the tragic backstory cliché happened to her. But later, after asking how is the ‘lovely lady’, she remembered that thing ‘she’ did, which made Shanalua laugh.

| “You’re a lovely lady? But you sounded like a guy earlier…” the girl said clearly confused. He could see the cogs in her head spinning as she searched for a right answer to the current peculiar situation... at least that's what Ringo thought. She did not look angry, just confused. For a second he imagined that she might get angry because of the unhandy situation he created.
The man raised his hand from his hip and started twirling the end of one of his long bangs. He again rebalanced both his legs and put the hand from his chest onto his hip. He was quite amused.
“And like I said, how are you, sir… or should I say… ma’am?” continued the girl.
Ringo chuckled loudly and said with his normal voice:
"Sir is fine! I'm a guy! I was just teasing you a bit. My name is..." He paused for a bit. He stopped twirling his hair and scratched his chin with a pondering look. He was not sure whether he should introduce himself with his real name or with the name of his character. He thought for a second. This wasn't the old world anymore. It was a brand new start for everyone and lingering to the past wasn't needed. He lowered his scratching hand and said firmly: "Well, just call me Ringo!"
He raised his hand from his hip and waved nonchalantly.
"Sorry for that. The past few days were pretty hectic with all what happened. You know with getting... "sucked" into Elder Tale and stuff. I might have overreacted a bit by stopping you and demanding further apology. I also wasn't really looking where I was going."
He wasn't sure why he was explaining himself. Maybe he simply wanted to talk to someone? Or maybe it was just how he was? Nonetheless, the conversation was going. For how long? He didn't know. It was too early to decide if it would last.
