Haku
Character Info
REAL NAME: Jared BloomREAL GENDER: Male
GAME GENDER: Male
AGE: 23
SEXUALITY: Bisexual
FACE-CLAIM: van hohenheim, FULL METAL ALCHEMIST
PLAYED BY: MYSTERIOUS stranger
RACE: Human
FACTION: Adventurer
Appearance The first thing anyone, absolutely anyone, would notice about Haku is his surprisingly large frame. Standing at a staggering 6' 8, and broad shoulders as well, he is quite the monument of a man. Sharp, chiseled features mark his face, as though made of stone. A well groomed beard and moustache frame his mouth as a thin pair of glasses sits upon his nose. Topaz yellow eyes, match his equally yellow hair, though don't have even a fraction of the hardness as the rest of his face. The rest of his body is just as carved as his face. Large muscles are clearly visible upon his arms and torso, and his broad chest often stretches anything he wears, making it look like he's constantly on the verge of breaking out of any clothing he wears. There is never a point where he doesn't stand tall and proud, with a wide gate and a large smile on his face that almost betrays his stony features. | Personality Friendly. That is the first word you would have to see when understanding the personality of Haku. This is the kind of man who can, and will, be friends with every person he meets. It doesn't matter who they are, he wants to be friends with them, and help them with their endeavors. In fact, it takes quite the act of malice in order to actually anger him. And to his friends (Which is everyone, as far as he is concerned), he acts as a beacon of encouragement. Seeing others work and strive for improvement is something that fills him with joy, and being a helping hand in them acquiring those goals fills him with pride. A jolly sort of soul that is almost never offended, Haku will often put himself in harms way for the sake of others. However, Haku is also known for a fair amount of Hubris, often thinking himself better than those around him. This is not quite ego, though, as this mentality can't be 'hurt', as it were. If someone else is proven to, indeed, be better at him than something, rather than being upset, he would congratulate them, and see them as a new goal in order to improve himself. |
Extra
I don't really have anything. So, here's a dog. Haku likes dogs. But he also likes cats and most other animals.

Biography
Who is Jared Bloom?
Nobody.
Jared is just a guy. He had an okay childhood, with only some minor financial issues, that taught him the value of a dollar, an okay schooling that let him realize that he should always question, and always look to the unknown, an okay teenage years that showed him that jobs aren't always easy, nor easy to come by, and an okay adulthood that has, so far, shown him that, while its not all what he thought, it's not all bad.
And as boring as that may be, all that put together makes Jared. He is a shining example of "Greater than the sum of its parts" as all the boring pieces of his life have made him who he is.
But you're here to actually learn what those different 'boring' things are, aren't you?
Well, as I said, his childhood was okay. He was always friendly, and always helpful. The kind of kid who liked helping teachers as much as kids, and was often a 'teachers pet'. as a result, he didn't have too many people that called him 'friend' but he would always call others his friend, and help when needed. His parents weren't rich, had decent jobs, and with just a little penny pinching, they were able to live comfortably.
Moving up through his pre-teen years, he continued to be the helpful kid, gaining him few friends, but the ones he did have were fast and firm. He was still pretty nerdy, though, and easy to pick on, but it wasn't often he held a grudge. However, he found his own thin, lanky, nerdy frame left him unable to help as much as he'd like.
As a teenager, he got himself a job in sales, and he was good at it. He liked helping people find things, and get things, and in general, he was a good people person. The trouble was when the company didn't want to help people, it wanted to make money, and after feeling oppressive and pushy, instead of friendly, he left. Afterwords, he found himself hopping around between places of employment, not quite able to find a right niche, until his early twenties. It was a job in security, and he was able to feel like he was helping, and protecting, people.
As it stands, Through this whole life, Jared had been a bit of a nerd, and enjoyed playing games possibly a bit too much. But even there, helping people out was always his REAL passtime. He'd often play the role of Tank or Support, helping newbies with things that they need help with. Getting to eldertale was just a result of trying new things out. In fact, he was about to stop playing and try a new MMO, thinking he'd just see what the new expansion was like, probably give it another month, and then move on to something new. But... well, we all know what happened then.
And that's it. He's no prodigy, he's no genius, or aristocrat... he's just a guy, and he's fine with that. you don't need to be someone extraordinary to do extraordinary things, and there's nothing wrong with just wanting to help people.

EQUIPMENT
CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Guardian
Covering: Despite a Warrior class's bulky appearance, their agility in the midst of battle can sometimes be very surprising. When an ally is about to be targeted by an attack, this skill allows the character to switch places with the target and take the force of the attack. It can also be activated in response to an area of effect attack, taking all the damage from affected party members onto oneself. Obviously, as good as the character's reflexes may be, this requires that the ally be in very close proximity. This skill has a maximum range of 3 meters, an animation time of 1 second, and a cooldown of 15 seconds. If used by a character other than a Warrior-based class or Warden, the cooldown is doubled to 30 seconds.
Cool Defense: Toggle skill; the Guardian taps into their mana and creates an additional line of defense between them and the opponent's attacks. For every blow that the target lands on the guardian, a small amount will be nullified. This defense is made all the more apparent when it comes to weak multiple-strike attacks. The Guardian's MP is slowly sapped as this skill remains active.
Resiliance: A passive ability of the Guardian. Due to their highly defensive class role, their HP regenerates faster outside of battle compared to other classes. Additionally, they regenerate a small amount of HP within battle, every couple of seconds. This passive battle healing is not very high, but it might prove to save one's life in the long run.
Level 4 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 4.
Level 7 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 7.
Level 10 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 10.
Level 13 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 13.
Level 16 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 16.
Level 19 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 19.
Level 22 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 22.
Level 25 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 25.
Level 28 Tier I Skill: A Tier I skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. Unlocked at Level 28.
Level 31 Tier II Skill: A skill slot that can be occupied with either an Adventurer or Main Class skill. The skill may be either a Tier I or II skill. Unlocked at Level 31.
Roleplay Class: Body Guard
Valor Guard: Passive. A Bodyguard prides themselves on being able to take a blow for their comrade. When the user takes the hit for an attack that originally targeted another character, increase the user's defense by 25% for the duration of that attack. This buff only applies once per attack.
Crafting Class: Pharmacist
Toxicity Tolerance: Pharmacists have developed a certain resistance around drugs. This skill can be toggled to make a pharmacist immune to status debuffs caused by potions. Additionally, they passively recover twice as fast from Poison and Mind status effects.
