Meeting an old friend Scroll within the box Dusk slowly fell upon the land, as Sayinh wandered home from the town of Londinium. Well, it wasn’t really his home, just the clearing in the woods that he had claimed to be his. The homemade, wood sign in which he had engraved his name, was at the start of the clearing. Nothing out of the ordinary. The vine haddock was still there, as usual. The stone, which he used as an armor stand whenever he went to sleep, was still covered in a thick layer of soft, green moss. The giant tree, standing in the middle with is gorgeous, majestic crown of leaves wavered slowly in the breeze. - Tomorrow, I’m gonna do something tomorrow. I’ve slacked off for way too long now. -, the Guardian thought as he prepared to practice his “Combat Dancing”. It showed to be rather useful in various battles, to be light on the feet, to be able to dance around the enemies effortlessly trying to catch you. The past couple of months had been all about the delivery job, he had taken… And Silver, Silver too. He almost forgot about Charles, as he started thinking of her, blushing a bit, he lost focus and fell directly onto his back scrolling through different scenarios he wanted with her. This would turn out to be the first girl he was ever together with, besides his sister, but she doesn’t count in that particular way. Well, there was Kat, he hadn’t heard from her since he left. Well, it would probably complicate things too. He rolled onto his side, looking into the deep forest.
He sighed, confused and ready to go to sleep. It probably wasn’t even 8pm yet, and he felt like a heavy load of tiredness pressed his body down into the ground. His eyes got heavier as the seconds flew by. - No point in torturing myself trying to stay awake. -, he thought, as he stripped from his usual armor, and moved up towards the vines.
Just a second before he fell asleep, a loud shriek sounded throughout the back of the forest. Sayinh quickly sat up, as his head had to adapt to the quick switch in movement speed. As he jumped down from the tree, he looked into the forest, seeking out the pig that made that horrible, loud noise. He literally jumped into his armor, rushing towards the site of where he heard the scream. At his arrival he saw a boar, standing in front of a low-leveled player, not that he was much higher levelled than he, but he had no chance against the foe standing in front of him. “So you’re the one waking up Boarboar? Seems like you need a hand, may I be the one lending you one?”, he said, as a faint smirk went across his face. TAG: Nivek WORDS: 473 NOTES: ~~~

HP: 60 % MP: 52 % It was early morning, in the town of Londinium. Nivek had prepared his backpack and his gear he had decided to go into the forest to look for herbs. There was a fog covering the town and forest, and not a sound to hear. However, Nivek had decided to go early, to get most out of the day. Nivek ran through Londinium and out to Windsor Greatwood to look for herbs. When Nivek entered the forest, he could hear the wind blowing and felt a cold breeze against his face. - I better get starting before more people show up. – Nivek thought to himself and wandered into the woods. A few hours later Nivek sat down in a little clearing and started to count the herbs he had found. “Just a few more and I should have all I need”. Nivek said to himself. He tied his backpack and put it back on. - So what now? Do I go further in, or do I turn back and might find some herbs I missed? – Nivek thought. “It is a low level area, so it shouldn’t be a problem if I go a bit further in“, he said. It was a little past noon and Nivek had finally gathered all the herbs he needed, and had decided to go back to Londinium. However, when he was about to turn back he heard something from between the trees. Nivek turned around and faced the trees while he activated inferno strike on both his sword and dagger. He stared into the shadows of the trees and waited, after a few seconds something appeared from between the trees. It was a boar. Nivek thought to himself – I guess it could be fun to go hunting a little; I still got some time before it gets dark after all -. Nivek stepped towards the boar and when the boar saw him, it started to charge at Nivek. Nivek stepped aside when the boar came charging and attacked it from the side, it was easy for him to dodge the attacks from the boar, while at the same time, attacking it with his sword and dagger. It was not a long battle against the boar, but Nivek thought it could be fun to keep going. There was still a few hours before dusk, so Nivek started hunting for boars. Nivek slowly hunted down the boars, he made sure never to engage more than two boars at a time. Because if he were to engage more than two, he would have a hard time toggling spellwalk on and off when he needed to. Which he only did when he had to activate inferno strike on his sword and dagger. After many battles against the boars Nivek sat down on a tree stump to catch his breath, dusk was slowly starting to fall upon the land. “I think that was about it for today, I got all the herbs I came for and I also got to do some hunting.” Nivek said to himself. Nivek stood up and started walking towards Londinium, when he suddenly heard a loud shriek. Nivek grabbed his weapons and turned around; a giant boar had appeared in front of Nivek. Nivek was tired from earlier and this boar was much stronger than the small ones. Nivek had but one option, he had to run but he was sure that the boar could catch up with him in no time. It was at this moment when Nivek faced the giant boar he heard a familiar voice from behind him. Nivek looked over his shoulder and saw a guardian with a faint smirk on his face, asking him if he needed help. Nivek started laughing. “Sure thing”. Word count: 622 Tags: sayinh

Boarboar strikes again Scroll within the box HP: 87% MP: 89%
The Sorcerer turned and laughed at Sayinh. “Sure, go ahead”, was answered and Sayinh put up his shield and sword. The Guardian waited for the boar the make the first move, it was always easier to counterattack than to go full frontal on the beast. After what felt like minutes, Sayinh gave in to the boar, tired of keeping the staring-contest going. The Guardian simply yelled at the beast, which reacted panic fully by charging towards Nivek. - Great, just as planned, it took the bait. -, Sayinh thought before charging into the side of the rushing boar. He slammed the shield into the beast, approximately at the ribs, making the boar release another shriek, this time in pain though.
Anger filled the air around them, almost as if it was flowing out of the boar. The normal pitch black eyes had turned red, as a sign of hostility. “I’m gonna need your help, I may be tanky, but that’s also what I am. I will let you handle the DPS part of this battle. Can I entrust this part to you? Don’t you worry about your remaining health, I’ll take the shots that has you as its target, and I will keep you alive at all costs. Let’s slay this monster!”, Sayinh loudly spoke towards his comrade. “Just like old days.”, he chuckled before charging in to take all the attention.
He ran forward, to get up close to the boar, since its large slow build would make it slow on turns and twists. If he could just move around between trees, under branches and over each and every boulder standing in his path. He drew his sword, and swung it right above the ankle, only taking away a slither of health. Very well knowing the Sorcerer only was level 1, and probably didn’t have the highest DPS output, he thought of several outcomes. Anything from they both live and everything will turn out in their favor, to they both get charged down and will lose all of their HP. Certainly, the favorable outcome would of course be the first one. The Guardian and the boar almost collided, as they got excessively close for Sayinhs own good. He reacted within split seconds, and slid underneath the boar and lunged forward his shield. He couldn’t swing his sword because of the restrained space beneath the boar.
The boar was sent flying, landing on its back, wriggling to get back onto its feet. “Your turn to shine! Don’t worry about being hit, I got you”, Sayinh yelled to the Sorcerer. He activated Taunting Shout, to make sure the Sorcerer, Nivek, didn’t pull too much agro. This reminded him of the first time he fought Dumah, well, with the help of Actaeon that was. The feeling of setting up a nice attack onto the opponent never seized to bore him.
He looked at his partner, already charging towards the target only short seconds after the Guardians attack. Another slither of its health went down, only for Sayinh to notice that the Taunting Shout effect had worn off. The boar charged towards the Sorcerer, but to its infortune, Sayinh quickly reacted, using Covering, switching places with the Sorcerer. As soon as the Guardian landed at where Nivek had stood just microseconds ago, he was launched into a tree behind him. The destructive force of a ramming boar, was stronger than he thought. The tree however, had taken a tougher beating than the Guardian had. It was torn in splinters, spreading out to every side. Sayinh looked at his HP bar, worried of having taken too much damage from that last attack, but it wasn’t as bad as he thought. Down approximately 350HP, and 230MP. “I told you I got you”, he said as he readied to head back. The smile upon his face just wouldn’t wash off. The thrill of battle was certainly the best. HP: 70 % MP: 37 % The guardian had agreed to help Nivek and stood in front of the boar now. Nivek could feel the tension in the air, the guardian and boar had stared at each other for what felt like minutes, when suddenly the guardian yelled at the boar, which surprised the boar and made it run towards Nivek. Nivek stood ready to guard the attack, when the guardian charged in and slammed his shield into the boar’s ribs. Thanks to the attack from the guardian, Nivek didn’t have to guard against the boar. Nivek and the guardian looked at each other. - Okay, he got my back so all I got to do, is to focus on dealing as much damage as I can -. Nivek thought to himself, the guardian got the boar under control. The boar had recovered from the attack by the guardian and now Nivek felt it. The tension in the air had doubled if not tripled. The boar’s eyes had turned red and it was clear that the fight was about to get serious. The guardian had asked Nivek to not worry about his health or anything, the guardian would handle all that. All Nivek had to do, was to focus on the DPS. However, when they looked at the difference in levels and the boar they were up against, Nivek wasn’t sure about how much damage he was able to do. The guardian told Nivek not to worry, even if it was just a little damage it would still be helpful. Nivek thought about different opportunities and got an idea. “Okay I got it.” Nivek said to the guardian, casting inferno strike on both his and the guardian’s weapons. - This way both our damage outputs should become higher -. Nivek thought. The guardian ran towards the boar to get close, the plan was to lure the boar around between trees and over boulders, because the boar would have to slow down, which could open up opportunities for an attack to land. Nivek stood by and waited for the right chance to strike, while the guardian chased the boar around and got a few attacks in on the boar. The guardian collided with the boar and slid under it, which sent the boar flying. The guardian yelled to Nivek and now it was his time the shine. The guardian had activated Taunting Shout and Nivek used the opening to charge in and attack the boar. The boar was still trying to recover and get back on its feet, but Nivek was fast and before the boar could get back up, Nivek had already charged all the way up to the boar and he started to attack while jumping and dashing around the boar. The boar had gotten back up and Nivek jumped back to get some distance between him and the enemy. The guardian stood a few meters away and waited. Suddenly the boar started charging, but it was towards Nivek. - The effect of Taunting Shout must have worn off -. Nivek thought, while he tried to dodge the charging boar. But to Nivek’s surprise, he was suddenly teleported out of the boar’s path. Nivek looked back just in time to catch a glimpse of the guardian hitting a tree behind him. The guardian had activated Covering, which made Nivek and the guardian switch places, so that the guardian had taken the hit from the boar, instead of Nivek. The power of the ramming boar had been stronger than the guardian thought, however Nivek could see that the tree the guardian was rammed into had taken a bigger hit. The tree had been torn to splinters which was spreading out to every side. It had been a big hit, but the guardian seemed to be alright. Nivek stood up and prepared for their next move. The guardian told Nivek not to worry, he got his back and Nivek nodded. Nivek looked at the guardian and it was clear to see that he was exited. The guardian was smiling and Nivek was feeling the same thing. The thrill of battle was something you just never got tired of. Nivek used Concoction on himself, just to be on the safe side. The battle had been going on for a while and Nivek was starting to get tired. - We have to finish this soon, I don’t have unlimited mana and it is getting harder to move around -. Nivek thought. From the previous attacks Nivek tried to come up with a plan. The boar wasn’t that fast and if they used the trees and rocks they could easily dodge it. Nivek kept thinking and thinking and finally he got an idea. The guardian was agroing the boar and keeping it away from Nivek. Nivek looked around for a good spot to set up a trap. The idea that had struck Nivek was to use a rock or some trees to capture the boar or knock it out. If they could do that it should give them a window of opportunity to get a decent amount of damage on the boar. Nivek yelled to the guardian, “Try to let the boar go after me! I got an idea.” The guardian looked at Nivek and sent the boar towards him. Nivek started to run towards two trees he had found. The trees were close enough for Nivek to run through, but if his plan was working the boar would get stuck between the trees. Nivek ran as fast as he could and jumped between the trees. When he landed he looked back, just in time to see the boar run into the trees. Nivek stood up and slowly took a few steps back, the boar was stuck and Nivek called on the guardian. “The boar is stuck; we can attack it no…”. Nivek heard a loud cracking sound behind him. Nivek turned and saw that the boar was starting to get free. The cracking sound was from the trees. The boar was too strong and the trees it was stuck between fell to the ground. Nivek could see that the trap didn’t work and now the boar was more pissed off than before. - So the trap with the trees didn’t work… time to plan B I guess -. Nivek thought. Nivek started to run again. He was aware that the idea with the trees maybe wouldn’t work and that’s why he prepared another trap. Earlier Nivek saw a big boulder and the ground in front of it was kind of soft. Nivek was running towards the boulder and when he reached it he turned around and stared at the boar. When the boar was just about in range Nivek prepared to dodge it. The boar charged directly at Nivek but just when it was about to hit him, he jumped to the side and dodged the attack. Because of the soft ground the boar couldn’t slowdown and slammed head first into the boulder. Nivek quickly stood up and draw his weapons. He yelled out to the guardian. “Now! Attack it now!”. Ending the battle, once and for all Scroll within the box HP: 76% MP: 92%
*Crack*. Sayinhs neck was a bit stiff after crashing into the tree. Nothing serious though, not that it ever had been. The Guardian always played it safe, not taking the risk of dying. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. Simply put, he always stayed alive. - Say what you want, this guy packs a punch -, he thought, looking up at the boar.
The Guardian started circling around Boarboar, looking for weak- and blind spots. A breeze went past them, making the leaves rattle. He took a deep breath, before lunging towards the boar. The Guardian stabbed the beast, right into the shoulder, or at least what looked like it the most. As he fought with the beast, or… slaughtered it thanks to Niveks Elemental Empowerment, he thought of various strategies for taking it down. The question was… which one was the fastest? The beast and the Guardian exchanged hits here and there, both lowering in hit points. “I have an idea, let me agro him!”, he heard from just a few meters behind him. It was the Sorcerer, calling because he had a plan. The question that remained… would it work? Not that he had a reason to doubt him. When they first met, Nivek had always been a great tactician.
The Guardian nodded, and started to run towards Nivek. He then jumped out of the way, letting Nivek getting chased down by the boar, yet he stayed on his toes, ready to jump in if it were to be needed. The battle had almost turned into a game of tag, and the precipitants were the Sorcerer, and the Boar. Covering was still down for quite some time, since it was just recently used. Shield Slam has just gone off cooldown, so he had a way of pushing it away if it was needed. Anchor Howl was also up, so he could hold the beast for up to 10 seconds if it was needed. The two ran back and forth, through trees here and there, before Nivek jumped through two tight trees. The boar, which certainly was larger than the slick, rather thin Sorcerer. A series of minor cracking was heard, as the boar got stuck between the trees. “The boar is stuck, we can a”, the Sorcerer didn’t get so say any more than that before the Guardian yelled “IT’S NOT ENOUGH, RUN!”.
The trees cracked, as the boar had torn them from their roots. The Guardian rushed the Sorcerer to help, only to be met by a hand signaling; ‘Don’t, I still got this’. Sayinh slowed down, then started following the, yet again, running Sorcerer, still ready to take action if the boar got too close. The Sorcerer took a weird turn, running directly towards a boulder. - Why would he corner himself, he’ll be tied up there… -, the Guardian thought as he prepared Cool Defense to get in between the two. As the Guardian was just about to cast the spell, Nivek jumped sideways, and before the boar could react, it slammed into the boulder, rendering it unconscious. “Now, attack it now!”, the Sorcerer said.
Just as the Sorcerer told the Guardian to attack, a faint *Pling* popped up in front of Sayinh. It was a message that his change of Subclass had been approved. He was now a Chef, Hunter, instead of a Blacksmith, Apprentice. - Yes! Finally I’ll be able to cook -, he thought. “No don’t. He’s a valuable source of meat. Rather good meat too, Rank B+. Let’s tie him up. We can skin him and then slaughter him for his great meat. We’ll eat like kings tonight!”, he said, smiling at his fellow Adventurer. His stomach agreed with him, since he hadn’t gotten anything to eat since the apple he ate for lunch.
The Guardian put his sword through the boars head, from underneath the jaw, through the brain. “May I borrow you Dagger? My sword is a little big for skinning him.”, the Guardian asked Nivek. A slight nod came from the Sorcerer as a reply, and he stretched out his arm, holding the dagger. “Thanks”, he said, receiving his tool of butchering.
He started out, by skinning the beast. ‘Hide of the Restless Boar’, no wonder he’s so pissed off if he doesn’t get any sleep. When he was still back in the ‘real world’, he sometimes went down to see their personal butcher, learning to slaughter his own pig when he was only 7 years old. A knife had always been nifty in Sayinhs hands, because of his love for knifes. He had had a knife in his drawer in his room, which he usually sat and played with, when he was bored, or Rose were unable to play, for various reasons.
He cut through the boar, as if it was butter. “Lovely knife you got here. It’s sharper than it looks”, he said, smiling of joy. - I’m gonna eat some meat! Yeah, I’m gonna eat some meat!”, he practically sung in his head. Notifications popped up in his interface. “Chuck Steak added to inventory” “Tenderloin added to inventory” “Pork Loin added to inventory”, and it kept going. “Let’s take to town, sell some of the meat, buy some spices and so on for preparing this.”, the Guardian said, as he finished up the last bit of the boar. “Let’s get going then”, he said as he rose, and started to walk. “You with me?”, he said, looking over his left shoulder. After Nivek got back on his feet, he looked at the boar. The guardian had told him to wait; the guardian probably had something he could use the boar for. The Guardian took his sword, stuck it through the boar’s head, and asked Nivek if he could borrow Nivek´s dagger. The Guardian´s sword was a little big for skinning an animal. “Sure go ahead”. Nivek said and lent the dagger to the Guardian. The guardian thanked Nivek and started skinning the boar. Nivek stood and admired the Guardian for some time. The Guardian looked very skilled with a small blade, like the dagger he borrowed from Nivek. The way the Guardian moved the knife, just underneath the skin of the boar to separate it from the meat under it. Nivek where almost enthralled by the skinning process, it was his first time ever seeing something like this. Nivek where suddenly awakened from his daydream. The Guardian praised Nivek´s dagger and told him it was sharper than it looked. “Thanks, I try to keep it as sharp as possible”. Nivek said while smiling to the Guardian. The Guardian was almost finished with the skinning of the boar. Nivek just stood in silence and watched. The Guardian stood up and asked Nivek if he wanted to go back to town and sell some of the meat. “Sure, you just lead on and I follow”. Nivek said. The Guardian had already started walking towards Londinium, while Nivek could hear The Guardian talk about all the different spices he had to pick up, so that he could prepare the rest of the meat he didn’t sell. Nivek ran, so that he could catch up to the Guardian. Nivek could see the Guardian looking over his shoulder to see if Nivek was with him, Nivek answered with a smile while he ran up beside the Guardian. The road leading out of the forest and into the city was clear. Nivek stretched his hands towards the sky while leaning back. “Thank you by the way, I don’t know if I could have handled it without your help”. Nivek said to the guardian, while they walked beside each other. “But how fun for us to run into each other like this, it’s been quite some time since we last met”. Nivek followed up. The Guardian agreed with Nivek and said that it had been too long since last time. It was late when the two of them arrived in town. Nivek closed his eyes and took a deep breath, “The atmosphere is something different here in town, compared to the forest”. Nivek said to the Guardian. Nivek had always liked the town when it was dark. All the lights from the different stores and inns, together with the sound of people laughing while having fun. This is the reason Nivek had been hanging out in the town for so long and just recently started going out into the forest. Nivek and the Guardian started walking towards the market district. Nivek had been at the market a few times, not to buy something, but he loved to watch all the different kind of things that you could buy, at the different shops. The first stop was a stand that sold all different kinds of meat. It was here The Guardian would like to sell the meat from the boar. After some debating between the merchant and the Guardian, they seem to have come to an agreement, because the Guardian walked back towards Nivek with a big smile on his face. After the Guardian had gotten his money from the merchant they decided to sit down for a moment, before continuing their “shopping”. While they sat and laughed Nivek felt something he hadn’t felt in a long time, it was a feeling of friendship. Sayinh, or the Guardian, had been his first and only friend, but where Sayinh had rushed out into the world, Nivek had been staying in town and did nothing. That’s why it was so long since the two of them had seen each other. -The feeling of friendship…- he thought. Nivek liked this feeling. He thought about how lucky he had been to run into Sayinh again and smiled to himself. Nivek wondered if he was the only one there was glad about them running into each other, or if Sayinh also was happy about it. Suddenly Nivek stood up and turned to Sayinh. “Guess we should keep going if we want to get the last stuff we need before the shops close”. Sayinh agreed, and the two of them started walking again. They still needed to get a cauldron, spices and vegetables. At the time they got to the shop where Sayinh had seen a cauldron for sale, only one were left for sale. Sayinh hurried inside to buy it, while Nivek waited outside. Nivek didn’t waited for long before Sayinh appeared again. “Let’s go get the vegetables next”. Nivek said to Sayinh and started walking again. When they got to the grocery store they picked up vegetables like carrots and potatoes. The only thing left on their list was spices, but it was starting to get late and it wasn’t long before the different shops would close, therefor they had to hurry. Nivek and Sayinh almost ran the last distance towards the shop. When they arrived at the store Sayinh went inside and Nivek waited outside. This time Nivek waited for quite some time. When he looked at the time he could see that the shop was supposed to be closed, but Sayinh hadn’t appeared yet. Suddenly the door to the shop flew up and Sayinh walked out. Nivek could see that Sayinh was looking really angry, because as he walked out from the shop Nivek could hear that Sayinh shouted something in an angry voice. Nivek didn’t know what had happened inside the store, but from the way Sayinh looked, he guessed that he was mad. Later Nivek asked Sayinh about what happened with the merchant. Sayinh said that the merchant had been trying to scam him, and wanted more gold for the spices, than they were worth. That’s why it took so long, because Sayinh was trying to push the price down. But in the end they still needed spices, but all the shops had closed. “Wait just a moment”, Nivek said to Sayinh and looked through his bag. “Maybe we can use some of the herbs and plants I found in the forest?”. Nivek asked and looked at Sayinh. Word count: 1089 sayinh

Shopping… yay. Scroll within the box The streets were filled with people, as the evening slowly fell upon the land. The sharp lighting from the various forms lanterns and replicas of street lightings, were definitely different than the moonlight in shining through the leaves in the woods. The happy atmosphere lifted off every form of stress, or negative- thoughts and feelings. Kids running around with sticks, playing, skirmish fighting, laughing and overall just having a great time. A lovely smell of flowers, food and… sweat, swirled around the air, causing an arousing feeling in whoever walked through. “We’re gonna need cauldron and some herbs for the stew. But first, we need to sell some of this meat. Let’s head to the Dull Butcher, I know the shop owner as a regular at his place… he’s quite the nice guy”, the Guardian said, smiling towards an elderly woman waving them in. He lifted his hand, shook lightly on his head in refusal and mimicking an apology. The cobblestone beneath their feet had been closely put together, forming a sturdy pavement supported by hardened clay. The two adventurers headed towards the small store, conveniently placed almost at the other side of the city, in which a large variety of meats glistered in behind the glass. A deep voice rung through the room, as the shop owner made his approach from the back room. “O’haithar Sayinh, ya brought’a friend wit’cha I see”, he said as the Guardian slowly rose, opening his interface. [Tenderloin] ... [Use]. “I’ve gotten ahold of this piece of lovely meat, and my buddy ‘n’ I wanna cook some of the other pieces t’night.”, he said, holding up the freshly cut tenderloin. “So I wanted to ask… What would you give for this lovely piece of B+ rate meat?”, slowly presenting the piece of meat, forwarding it to the shop owner. “I cut it myself, so the cut should be fine”, the Guardian said, as the butcher took the tenderloin, looking it through thoroughly. “Well, the cut is indeed as good as always”, he said, continued by mumbling his meat-quality checklist. It would always put a smile on the Guardians face, when the butcher praised him. He was the only one of the townspeople, Sayinh had really taken time to get to know. After a short while, he stopped the inspection and gaped at the two adventurers. “These veins are cut, they ain’t torn! The knife ya used must’ve been extremely sharp”, he pointed out, as his face almost touched the meat now. “I’ll give ya a’hundred for this piece, my friend”, he said, having starry eyes and a watery mouth creek. As they walked towards the butcher shop, the Guardian had spotted a cauldron big enough for them to cook above open fire, it would cost them 65 gold. So with this one piece of meat, they could buy the pot, and maybe some spices and vegetables for the stew, soup, whatever the Guardian chose pull out of that pig carcass. “Certainly!, the Guardian replied, astonished about the amount that sole piece made of income. Sayinh met up with the Sorcerer, who had gone outside before him. He looked at Nivek, tilted his head a little bit, before grinning at him, whilst shaking a small pouch he hold in his hand. “Now we need spices, and some vegetables. I saw a cauldron at one of the shop behind us, if it ain’t gone, we should be good to go. Though, we should have a moment before the shops start closing, wanna take a short one here?”, he said and pointed towards a tree surrounded by benches. The Sorcerer was already on his way there, hence… yes. They sat down and talked. Talked about the old days. How they used to hunt rabbits and peep at the girls in the baths. Laughs and happy memories were exchanged, as the stars peeked from behind the clouds. After a little while of silence, the Sorcerer stood up, and said it probably was about time to move on… before the shops closed. “’Guess you’re right”, Sayinh said, as he too, rose from the bench. The Guardian led the way, tightly followed by Nivek. - Let’s see, the convenience store is the one closest. Let’s head there and get the vegetables after the cauldron -, the Guardian thought. He started making a grocery list in his head. Vegetables- Potatoes
- Carrots
- Peas
- Salt
- Pepper
- Basil
- Cinnamon
- Garlic
“Yup, we should be good to go.”, he mumbled to himself, as the two went past various stores and stands. “First stop, the Cauldron. It’s right over there”, he said as he pointed towards a shop, no more than a few meters from them. They parted, as the Sorcerer waited outside and Sayinh went into the store. *Cling*, a small bell rung as he walked in the door. “Well hello there”, the shop-owner said, smiling towards the Guardians lightly sunburned face. “Greetings”, Sayinh answered, already walking towards his object of choice. “Already chosen something?”, she asked, slowly following the armored up Guardian. “I’ve been looking at a Cauldron, the one you have back here”, he said and pointed towards the back of the room. “But the thing is… it costs 65 pieces, and I do only have 60”, nervously he flapped his mouth. He had never ‘lied’ before, because it was something his mother had taught him at a quite young age. “Hmm…”, a low humming-like sound came from the lady. “That’s fine sweetheart, you just forget about those last 5 pieces, and take this with you”, she said as she walked back to the desk. The Guardian gave a light jump, before picking up the cauldron and heading towards the desk. [Gold]…[Use Amount]…[60] The gold popped out in a small pouch, which the Guardian placed on the desk, thanked the woman and left the store. Right outside, Nivek was standing still waiting for the Guardian. “Yues, ready to move on?”, he asked, rhetorically as he already was on the move. The ‘grocery store’, was a more of a small inroad in the outskirts of the street. Fortunately they had the ingredients, even though it was nothing big they needed. “That was quick 12 pieces spent. I hope the spices ain’t too pricey…”, the Guardian said as they hurried out of the shop. “We’ve gotta pick up the pace if we wanna make it, they’re about to close.”, he said, and started to run towards the nearest spice-selling shop. As they finally arrived at the shop, breathless and slightly sweating, they split up again, the Guardian moved inside, as the Sorcerer waited outside. Sure enough, as the Guardian had thought; all the spices they needed were there, and even more. Coriander, Bay leaves, Thyme, Curry and various other spices from far lands. - I knew he had connections, but this is overwhelming -, the Guardian thought as he browsed through the various seasonings. “GAH!”, the Guardian suddenly stopped his trails, as he was overwhelmed and disgusted by his findings. “27 GOLD FOR A SINGLE ROLL OF CINNAMON?!”, he yelled, looking around for a salesman. “Excuse me, anyone here?”, walking up to the desk, eagerly peeking towards the back room. A short, burly built man came shuffling in in boots that were about 2 sizes too large for his feet. “Who’s the one yelling like a madman out here?”, he asked. His voice was tiny, and sounded like his nose was filled with paper. “I am! How can you make yourself sell a single cinnamon roll for 27 gold?! They’re not worth more than 6 pieces a roll!”, the Guardian angrily said. “You surely can’t be serious about that price?”, he asked, looking the salesman deeply in the eyes. “If you can’t accept it, leave my damn store right this f☠@#ing instance!”, the salesman yelled hushing Sayinh out. - God damn’it, that man won’t ever sell his damn spices with those, half a diamond per cinnamon roll, prices -, the Guardian thought whilst mumbling gibberish, stomping in the ground as he was thrown out of the store. “God damn it! F☠@#ing dumb piece of… GOD!”, he yelled out into the thin air. The Sorcerer looked at him… Not really surprising, since he yelled and cussed like that. Nivek had asked the Guardian what happened in there. “Just that, that little, burly, midget, of a salesman, sold cinnamon rolls for freaking whole 27 pieces of gold. That’s almost four times what they’re worth!”, Sayinh answered, taking a deep breath to calm himself down. “But now all the shops have closed, so, the food’s gonna be more or less tasteless without the seasoning. I’m sorry”. He looked down into the ground. - Damn it.. I was looking forward to this too! -. “Wait a second”, the Sorcerer took off his backpack and started searching through it. “Maybe we could use some of the herbs I collected in the forest”, he said. - Well… It could work, depending on what he’s got -. “Well, we wouldn’t know until we’ve tried it, right?”, the Guardian replied. “Let’s get back then. We can use my ‘home’ as our cover for the night as well.”, he said. Sayinhs stomach grumbled as they made it out of the town… - I’m starting to get hungry now too. I can’t wait for the stew to be finished. -, he thought. TAG: Nivek WORDS: 1560 NOTES: I make next post in cycle too. Just felt like it was a good place to end it.

Last minutes of conciousness Scroll within the box The path towards the place Sayinh called ’home’ was very dark and slightly scary for newcomers at this time of night. The vines and moss were cold, mushy and a little bit wet because of the dew. The Guardian knew this feeling very well, and had come to like the feeling of the vines slide across his cheek as he walked past them. - I wonder how this is for Nivek. I remember my first time walking here at nighttime… It felt horrible at the time, because it was so unexpected -. He looked over his shoulder checking up on the Sorcerer.
The moonlight shun upon the center of the clearing, lighting up the dark corners of the forest. It was truly, always an astonishing sight, when the moon-shun drops of water falls from the tree’s crown’s leaves. “We should gather some wood, before it gets too wet from sucking in the dew”. The Guardian was already on his way to gather stick and twigs to light the fire. Slightly bigger pieces laid all around the forest. Leftover pieces from people being there to cook anything in the open free. Fancy, as Sayinh is, he gathered a bunch of round-ish stones to decorate around the bonfire. He placed the twigs and sticks he had gathered… “Could you do a little magic trick, and light up our wood?”, he asked Nivek. “We just gotta keep it going… Now; what do you have in your bag? We need something cinnamon-like. That and; Basil, Salt, Pepper”. – The salt and pepper were rather easy to get, since we could get it in the convenience store - , he thought, as he looked through the bag Nivek had had with him. “Hmm…, he hummed after looking through the bag. “No Garlic… Damn. Theeen, what do we have as compensation?”. He searched the bag, in and out. No thing to compensate for the missing garlic. – Damn, well we can’t do anything against it, of course it wouldn’t turn out to be perfect. We’ll do with what we’ve got for now. We just need the water now. Both for the cooking, as well as the prep work -.
The river was still clear as glass, with a slight blueish color to reassure it was water. Sayinh took off his armor, leaving him standing in a pair of boxers as well as his shirt. He stored everything but his Chest piece in his inventory. The chest piece would function as the boys’ cutting board, for the carrots and potatoes, as well as the spices. He slowly dipped the chest piece in the water, and scrubbed it with a ball of moss, removing the stained blood from the boar. – First the potatoes. The easiest way to do it, is to boil them first, then the skin is easier to peel off. Whilst they’re cooking, we can peel- the peas and cut the carrots -.
He scrubbed the potatoes free of dirt, filled the cauldron halfway with water and placed it over the fire. He then filled it, with the potatoes and started preparing the spices, he put Nivek in charge of peeling the carrots and peas. Sayinh took the back half of the chest plate and cut the basil. He used a small leather pouch to store it, since he didn’t have anything more… hygienic. Next, the meat. [Pork Loin] … [Use] “Careful, he said, only mere seconds before slamming the meat onto the chest plate. A loud sound rung through the air, as the Guardian slammed the pork loin flat on his armor. Some swift cuts and throwing around with salt and pepper, and the tenderloin was ready to get roasted.
His bad tendency of looking through everything more than 10 times during cooking food, stroke again. He started searching through the bag once more. Though he didn’t expect the result to change. Right before closing the back, and putting it away, he saw a small pouch, hidden in the back. It seemed kind of stuffed, question was… with what? He clicked the locking mechanism open. His eyes started glistering, as he took a couple of the herb and started dancing and whooping. “RAMSONS! Why didn’t you tell me you had collected Ramsons!”. Ramsons have a close resemblance with garlic, in terms of taste. The Guardian rushed to the river, cleaned the ramsons and finely sliced them. Sayinh then turned to the cauldron and poked one of the potatoes with his sword. They were ready to take off the heat. They weren’t cooked completely through, but that was fine, since they were to cook even more when the stew was to be made. [Helmet] … [Use]. He rinsed the helmet, and used it as a bowl to carry the potatoes whilst they readied the meat. “Can I have you remove the parts looking icky? The skin itself can principally stay on unless you really want to remove it”. He looked back at the cauldron, and then the meat. “In it goes!”, the Guardian said and put in the meat. The pleasant sizzling sound, as well as the lovely smell of cooking meat arose from the cauldron.
When the meat had been browned, he added a bit of water, and slit the potatoes into the water. The potatoes smothered up the water, so it wasn’t all that sobby. The spices were added to the mix, he used the sword as a ladle to stir the stew. Now they just had to wait for it to simmer through.
The Guardian, only wearing his underwear, lied down and looked towards the starry sky. The cold moss beneath him gave of an incredible soothing feeling. His eyelids turned quite heavy, and the enchanting smell of grass, forest, burning wood, all in all the lovely outside, we enough for him almost to fall asleep. “So… have you started going on hunts and such now? Last I saw you, we were doing nothing in Stratford. Good olds, good olds”, he asked and smiled, reminded by the times the two of them had had back in the day. To keep himself going, the Guardian rose from the cold, slightly wet ground and threw his head above the cauldron, cause the fragrance from the stew to blow his consciousness back. – Damn it smells lovely. Approximately 7 more minutes and it’s ready. –.
Sayinh found a couple of bowls and spoons and knives. Wooden bowls were easily found and was rather cheap. “The food’s ready in just a second. Can’t you help me move this log, so we at least have a place to sit”, he asked the Sorcerer, and looked at a log laying not far away from the fireplace. “I’m sorry, I have no soup spoon to pour the stew, so we have to just grab it with the bowl itself”
They sat down, talked, laughed and ate to their hearts content. The flames kept the food and their bodies warm. The stars shun upon them, as the moon rose to its fullest. “It has sure been great, if you have nowhere for the night, you can crash here. You know you can”, the Guardian said, looking towards the glistering sky. He put down the bowl besides him, and let himself fall over onto his back. “Have you thought of what to do now? I mean… it would be a shame if you once again do nothing but wander around town, simply looking at what everyone else accomplishes” the Guardian said. Unfortunately, as the Sorcerer started telling his plans, Sayinh’s mind went blank, and his eyelids shut. He heard distant talking, but it was all smooshed together, and didn’t make any sense.
That was when he doze off, into the world of dreams.
