Hey there everyone, Azoth here just wanting to update you all on what is currently going on around the Forum. Most of you are in the CBox and have been paying attention to my updates and such, but there are obvious times when things slip under the rug or I make a quick update and it's just foolish to spam the CBox with the little things. So, as I did before, here's an update on all of the patchwork that has been going on around this place.
The Reset
If it hasn't become apparent yet, this Forum will be undergoing a full reset most likely next weekend. At the pace things are going, this is very likely but things can always change. With the reset, a new Quest-based Leveling system is being implemented along with a new Plotline and setting inside the world of Elder Tale. All players will be forced to restart and are being given the option to start either just from level 1 with their old characters, or begin anew with fresh faces. It is up to you all what you'd like to do. More information on the Reset itself can be found here; [Site Reset Procedures]
The Plot and Timeline
Just a few moments ago, I adjusted the setting of our little Forum. I created a reason as to why people disappeared and were locked into the game and also implemented a reason for those who join the forum later to be late getting started.
The new beginning Plot is formed around the idea that a Hacker group of some sort is behind the disappearances and people are disappearing all over the world at the same time as the update for the Unfounded Kingdom. A figure named "Hysteria" appears and sends a message, telling the world that he and his group are imposing a "will of the gods" and are sending people to their judgement. He has also called these people "The Ascended", which is you players but those who join now will never know this.
Players who join later, after this initial Reset, will bring this information to the world and will appear at regular intervals of ten minutes. Depending on the advancement of time in the game world, players will appear almost exactly as they sign up so new players will no longer have to explain the problem of "doing nothing for two years but sitting on my ass". Instead, players appear and find themselves suddenly stuck in the world. Players do not even have to be playing Elder Tale to get stuck. They could have been playing any kind of game. You may use this for Character Development, should you choose.
Character Registration Updates
A new template (actually a bit old since I used it before) has been uploaded to the Character Registration section. Many of you have already jumped on it and have begun creating your characters. For those slower, I have updated the links and the coding a bit to make things easier. I have pasted the Template code into Pastebin and have linked the bins where the templates are. If your template is botched or I tell you that there are some issues, please use these links to adjust your profiles. I've already seen a few that need some fixing and I can only assume there will be more. Kinda hoping to make this as easy as possible, so bear with me.
AP Claims
I will reiterate this over and over as much as necessary just to ensure everyone understands. Not saying anyone has done anything wrong, but I just want this information spread.
Each player is urged to gather up their last AP Claims and post them as soon as possible. You only get one more and the more AP you have, the more AP you can use in the cash shop. At the end of this week, I will be closing the AP Board for good.
Class Updates
I do wish to note that the Heretic and Warden Classes are no longer available to be played from the beginning. You must now complete an In-Game Quest line in order to gain access to these classes. These classes are originally Lander-based classes so Adventurers will have to prove that they wish to take on the class roles should they wish to have them.
A few Subclasses will also be getting some reworks in order to make them more "playable". Expect many of the Roleplay Classes to have reworks with the new system.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to post them below. Thanks.
