[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]UNLUCKY COINCIDENCE [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Joseph Navarra [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Male [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 30 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: original, UnCo [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Unlucky Coincidence [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"]His appearance as a Werecat resembles his real life appearance. (UnCo (short for Unlucky Coincidence) is a rather unfortunate soul... at least, that is how Joseph always portrayed him. His down-on-his-luck nature was always reflected in his physical appearance. His glasses always seem to be cracked, though they give him no problems vision-wise as his bright green eyes see quite clearly through them. Both of his ears are nicked, his left canine is chipped, his forehead seems to permenantly bear a pair of band-aids in an x-shape and his tail is bent and bandaged in two places. Since he is usually wearing his Shaman Robes, it's rather difficult to see if he bares any kind of following scars, though it is rather easy to tell his chubby form. No matter where he is or what he's doing, he always seems to have an easy going smile. When he's not geared for adventure, he can be seen wearing a loose grey tunic and a simple pair of slacks along with a leather smock covered in various paints. Any time he isn't spending enjoying time with friends, he spends touching up his beloved puppet Fortuna alongside his shikigami, Felicity. With how the entirety of Elder Tale has come to life, he has come to talk to both as if they were living, thinking creatures in their own right, breathing life into both. Felicity takes the form of a twin tailed white cat with bright blue eyes, a matching blue magatama on its forehead. Far larger than an average housecat, she reaches up to UnCo's knee. Fortuna the puppet is a wooden affair, painstakingly carved to resemble a young woman with long blonde hair and a gentle smile on her lips. Matching his own Shaman theme, the puppet is usually dressed in a pure white miko robe with the odd addition of a large bell collar around her neck. She bares a red magatama on her forehead, sitting in a reversed teardrop position, and is usually seen donning a pair of monk claws sized for her. When Felicity fuses into Fortuna, the puppet gains a pair of cat ears and twin cat tails, her left eye staying the same bright red color it usually is, but the right shifting to Felicity's bright blue, the red and blue magatamas fitting perfectly on her forehead to form a perfect circle. To save time, UnCo calls this form 'Lady Luck'. In real life, Joseph is not too different from unCo, being a chubby, bespectacled young man with tan skin and an easy smile. Unlike UnCo, he generally doesn't have any physical damage shown on his person, and his glasses are usually whole, though thanksto Elder Tale he HAS taken up puppeteering in real life, taking the time to have a real Lady Luck made. He would put on little shows for children at the local library every so often based on his adventures on Elder Tale, with Lady Luck as the main character, [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]After the initial shock of finding himself in a feline body, UnCo has basically adapted and returned to his easygoing personality. Due to his character being taller than his original self, UnCo has a tendency to trip every so often, usually falling face first into the ground. Despite this, he usually laughs off his minor misfortunes, chalking it up to his luck acting up. Because of his penchant for clumsiness or misfortunes, UnCo has a tendency to worry about those around him, generally putting a higher focus on the survival of the team and weaker members over himself. He particularly worries about children thrust into Elder Tale since the Calamity. Because of this, he has taken it upon himself to try and gather as many low level charachters and children as possible in order to teach them the ropes and try to keep their spirits up. Should anyone or anything happen to harm one of his charges, UnCo will generally become rather angry, no matter the level difference between himself and the offender. More often than not, the change in demeanor and the shift in his tone is enough to make bullies back off, and luckily any monsters that have chased after his charges when they bit off more than they can chew have been within his skill range to kill... but some worry that someday UnCo might end up biting more than HE can chew. When he's not helping children, UnCo can be found tending to his puppet Fortuna with his shikigami Felicity at his side, talking to them both as he works. To him, they are the equivalent of his closest family. Almost his children. The reason for this is the fact that he is a father of two daughters, Jannica and Felicia, children he had adopted as his own and who loved to sit on his lap and help him play Elder Tale. They helped him make UnCo and absolutely adored his puppet and shikigami, and even though his girlfriend is a great mother figure for them, all he can do is worry about their well being in his quiet moments and hope they are alright. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Most of Joseph's life has revolved around Elder Tale, having been a part of the game when it first came out. He had played many characters in his time, being a part of a few guilds here and there and making friends along the way. His school friends would enjoy talking about strategies and where to go, and he ended up going along with them, skirting through school and life til graduation hit. Ending up at a part time job, his only joy was meeting his friends in Elder Tale and playing the game... until his 21st birthday, where he took a look around his small apartment and felt a deep loneliness hit him. He had his friends... but what he wanted was family. Taking some time out from the game, he began to work on a small project, if not to ease his loneliness, then to perhaps get him out of the house more outside of work and interact with people again. Thus, he started to put on puppet shows for children at his local library. It was rather easy to get the gig, since he never asked for money. At first, the children were leary... but as he kept coming back, he found that mmore children would come each time, enjoying his retelling of his Elder Tales adventures through the use of Lady Luck. A few parents and older siblings started to recognize a few of his sotories, and so he started building up a few more friends through Elder Tale to talk to both in real life and in game. Then, he met Leona. She had started working at the library after he did the puppet gig for about a year, becoming a regular staple of children's entertainment for the area. At least.. as staple as one can get when they perform for two hours every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. WHetrher it was his love for performing for the children, his corny acting, the fact she had caught him sneaking glances her way every so often, or something else, she had approached him and asked for lunch sometime. After giving a very eloquent response along the lines of 'Um.. s-s-s-sure!" From there, they started going into regular dates and after a year, moved in together. A few months after that, he started to do small tutorial videos using Lady Luck for those children who wanted to try Elder Tale, with Leona actually performing her voice. While it wasn't any kind of major hit, the kids who grew up to his stories enjoyed them and found them useful. One day, Joseph got a gig at a local orphanage to perform for the kids as a special treat. Honored (and flattered that he was actually getting paid for this) he took the job and performed for them. The smiles on the kids' faces were horribly diabetes inducing... but two children in particular seemed quite enamored with Lady Luck. Two little girls, one seven the other four, stuck behind after the show to talk with Joseph, asking all sorts of questions about the puppet and the man who pulled her strings. They had even given him big hugs before running off to play. Looking at Leona, who accompanied him on the gig, Joseph had the kind of look a child gets when they come across a puppy they simply had to have. And while comparing children to small animals is morally questionable, the point made itself... and little Jannica and little Felicia were later adopted and added to their not so little household. Time went on, as it does, with Joseph and Leona eventually getting better jobs to help support their new family, talking about marriage and still continuing the puppet shows and videos. Elder Tale was bonding time between papa Joseph and his little girls, and Joseph and Leona began to have talks of weddings and maybe a third child to round out the family. Everything seemed to be going well... Then the expansion hit and the Catastrophe happened. The only thing he can thank his lucky stars for is that his little girls weren't with him when he was dragged in...After his initial moment of shock and depression, Joseph, now Unlucky Coincidence, could only shake his head and look up at the sky. After all, with so much good fortune, it was only a matter of time before bad luck hit in a big way. Forms either a stationary barrier or a barrier around a target that continues to exist until the "energy" of the barrier expires. Energy will decrease slowly over time and decrease from damage taken. [attr="class","skill"]Timber: Toggle skill. Woodcrafters naturally have an affinity for chopping and carving wood, making their abilities key in harming monsters that happen to be arboreal in nature. Woodcrafters deal 20% more damage to Plant-type monsters. They can also cancel buffs on Plant-type monsters upon a successful hit. [attr="class","skill"]Act One - Exposition: This skill passively allows the character to use a Puppet in battle at the cost of an off-hand equip.
