At the crafting table, Ruemia proceeded to draw sketch after sketch of possible limb designs that were both functional and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. She took a rather great amount of time in anything artistic since it had been the only thing in her life where she didn’t have to worry about whether she was holding her pencil in an elegant manner or if her handwriting was perfectly horizontal. Her finished product was what mattered, despite any way she decided to execute it. It was one of the reasons why she loved to paint. There were no rules, and there was no wrong answer. It is a purely creative activity that could be interpreted in any way you wanted to. Of course, if Ruemia ever debated this with her parents, they would probably say otherwise. Everything had to be politically correct. She didn’t have any knowledge about golem mechanics or engineering, but she did know the mechanics of a human body and how limbs moved. Perhaps that would help her out for designing a puppet that would actually be able to operate. Ruemia’s sketches were mainly of seventeenth century French-looking pierrots, but when she drew their limbs, she made sure to keep in mind the material they were going to form these golems out of. Because they were going to be using wood and metal, the silver-haired artisan did her best to compensate. Like on a wooden figurine of a human body, she sketched circles where there were connecting points on the body. On the side of the sketches of her pierrot, she began to doodle mask designs for every mood. Perhaps she’d be able to paint these and keep a collection of them. This way, the golem would have a different face for whatever occasion. A light smile played on Ruemia’s lips as she continued to draw. |
