Ryuu would try to shrug off Kyuu who was pulling at his cloak. She would stop for a few moments but then she would start up again. He looked at her and glared at her. “What..?”. His question was met with an enthusiastic yell of glee for ‘fluffy ears’ as she pointed at their companion. Ryuu looked over at Stryke and he sighed as Stryke lowered his head to allow her to pet it. “You know… you don’t have to let her pet your head if you don’t like it,” he said trying to make it so that he did not feel obligated to lower his head for her.
Stryke let her pet the fluffiness of the fox-tail, but Ryuu did not approve. “If he doesn’t mind, go ahead…” he said, establishing the ground rules of this ‘petting’ thing. He didn’t want to treat other people like dogs or pets when they were sentient beings. He would’ve said human, but seeing how humans weren’t always human, and were fox-tails, were-cats, and other races, sentient being would be the most appropriate name for the players and for the landers.
“I’m sorry for her erratic behavior… I would say that she’s usually not like this… but unfortunately, I’d be lying to you,” he stated, wondering if Kyuu would catch what he was saying. He wondered what Kyuu would do to ‘punish’ him. She was never any good at it, even if she attempted to. She’d eventually lose her patience or simply get distracted, since Ryuu was a hard man to break. He didn’t mind much, since it was hard to annoy Ryuu. Most of the time, Kyuu’s attempts to get back at Ryuu were failures. There were few times they did work. One was when he was studying for a final and she was in his room playing games. He didn’t mind playing games, but after Ryuu told her she was such a child when she almost broke his TV while playing the game because she got really frustrated, she turned up the TV really loud and began throwing his game boxes at him. Because he was studying for a somewhat important test, he lit up and went off on her, but there were few times that had happened. Only in extreme cases did he actually yell at Kyuu, because he knew that every time he did, she’d cry, and when she cried, Ryuu felt bad. It was a vicious cycle, which ended up with him buying a new plushie or taking her out for some ice cream later. She really is the cause of all my financial problems… he thought after he began thinking of how many things he’s bought for her or helped her with things in school because she barely spoke to anyone. This included the cashiers, registrar’s office, her teachers, her project groups. She did pay him back for her school materials, but when he pretty much always got food for her because she resorted to vending machine food when he wasn’t around, he was pretty much taking care of a child. She hated speaking, and since vending machines give take money without the buyer having to talk, it was all too right for her to be able to get food without ordering it from a person. Even those fast-food restaurants that had machine booths allowed her to purchase food. It was slightly better than getting vending machine food, but still, Ryuu did not support her unhealthy lifestyle of vending machine foods. OOC NOTES: 584 words

The samurai did not mind the curious eyes which stared at her as she reached out and very, very gently touched Stryke’s fluffy ears. Landers were used to the appearance of various races and classes, and most of the other adventurers in that place either did not care for fluffy things or were too preoccupied with their own problems... but Kyuu was Kyuu and she wanted to touch that fluffiness. TOUCH. THAT. FLUFFINESS. And that, she did.
“ Thank you~ “ the girl softly cooed after the swashbuckler so kindly let her pet his fluffy ears, even though he so obviously disliked it.
Caerbannog still had an awed expression. The fluffiness of those ears made her momentarily forget about her dilemma, which was being stuck in the game as a tank. Ryuu’s comment about her behavior snapped the girl back to their reality, but even then, it was obvious that she was no longer so uncomfortable around Stryke. Instead of a big, scary adventurer, Caerbannog since then saw the towering man as a super-friendly player... mainly because he let her touch his fluffy ears.
“ Fluffiness is interesting, “ she said to Stryke, “ Not like Oshiro-san - “
The samurai then reached out to grab and pull Kumori’s ponytail.
“ – boring. “
She did not like Ryuu’s overbearing tone. And he wondered why she was so formal with him? In the girl’s mind, he was rather annoying like a stepmom that she never wanted. Still, she had to admit that he helped her out more than he should. In the end, her actions towards him only made her look like a child- an image that she wanted to discard already.

Leo let his head fall forward as an instinctive reaction of remembering the annoyances of being a half furry, it was an habit of his, like the weight of the world was all on top of his head. He couldn't expect in the slightest that both Kumori and Caerbannog misunderstood it as a sign of passive acceptance on what was going to happen.
As Leo was lost in his train of thoughts once again, suddenly a hand came closer and closer to his head, he didn't notice until it made contact with his wolf ears. Leo was brought back to reality with the force of a train wreck, he opened his eyes wide when he felt a jolt coming from his ear and progressively expanded all the way back on his spine. Leo sweated cold and stared down horrified on the table and then back on the owner of that hand, which was Caerbannog. Leo was in complete shock and he had no idea what was happening, why the hell did she decide by herself to touch his ears without even asking him? Leo didn't know what to do, he wanted to jump out like a cat when exposed to water but he also didn't want to scare her too much, in the end he decided to let her do what she wanted and pray that this thing would be over quickly.
The sensation of having those kind of ears, having fur around them and having them touched by something other than yourself was beyond creepy, it was an alien feeling that Leo wasn't sure he could get used to even if he spent a hundred years inside his wolf hair's body. Caerbannog gently petted him and to add insult to injury even another strange and horrifying phenomenon cursed Leo, somehow his tail started to wig happily back and forth on its own. By now Leo had the most horrified look on his face yet, just when he thought that this body couldn't give him any more surprise here it was, making him wig his tail just like a dog would when petted. Maybe the kids around town were right and he was just in a complete denial, maybe he really was a friggin' puppy.
Fortunately the torture ended and Caerbannog retreated her hand from his fluffy ear, funnily enough the look on their faces was almost inverted from when Leo first met the girl, he had soulless look of horror while Caerbannog was like in a state of complete bliss.
The girl thanked him but Leo was too much emotionally scarred and pride-crushed to respond back, he then heard the words "Fluffiness is interesting" from her. So that was his future, his dreams of becoming a strong and feared warrior were crushed beside his eyes, ruthlessly replaced by him becoming "Fluffiness the puppy", joy of children and girls with an obsession of fluffy things. Leo let his back rest on the seat-back, rolled his head back and finally let all his frustration out with the greatest sigh known to men.

“Again, apologies for my friend,” he replied, noticing the discomfort that Stryke was feeling. He sighed but he welcomed Stryke’s kindness. At least he did not lash out at Kyuu, else she’d have been crying by now and Ryuu would have to figure out how to make ice cream in the game. Before he could say more and apologize, Kyuu pulled his ponytail. “Ahh!” he cried out in surprise and pain. He looked at Kyuu with his typical mean face. “Hey, I’m not boring!” he replied to her after she pulled his ponytail. He flicked her forehead gently. “I’m just making sure you don’t offend anybody… especially those of the fluffy kind,” he said to her. He looked over to Stryke. He stood and offered his hand to him to shake. “Thank you for joining us for lunch. I apologize for her sometimes weird behavior. You tend to get used to it when you hang out with her a lot, but I usually keep her from going too far. If she does something that you don’t like, just let her know, and she’ll back off… You don’t have to be accepting of your fate. Make people respect you, or you will never be respected.” he said to him. He looked at Kyuu and nodded to her indicating she follow suit. While in these situations, Ryuu acted like a mother, he was still more of an older brother when it came to her. If she needed protecting, Ryuu was always there to give her that, and it was irrefutable that he cared a lot for his friend Kyuu. OOC NOTES: 267 words

“ Owie... “ the black-haired samurai rubbed her forehead after Kumori flicked it.
The girl crossed her arms and pouted much like a spoiled child who didn’t get her way, although she already did. It was only a playful way of showing that she did not like her friend’s words or actions, but with what he said next, Caerbannog righted herself. The child-like, wide-eyed expression was gone and she was back to her more serious appearance, though not as stiff and lifeless as before. When she looked at Stryke, he really did seem uncomfortable with his wolf hair features out; mostly because of what the girl did. His sigh was an obvious sign that he was bothered by it.
“ I... “ the samurai wanted to say something nice to the swashbuckler before they parted ways, “ I think you’re really cool! “
Caerbannog then stood up and bowed to Stryke, a respectful farewell which she learned from the maternal side of her family. She then ran off to follow the assassin. Not wanting to get lost in the crowd, the samurai held tightly onto the back of Kumori’s cloak. She looked back at Stryke one last time and waved at him before she left with her stepmom- er, her friend.

Leo reopened his eyes and found Caerbannog and Kumori bickering on whether he was boring or not, Leo smiled upon seeing that little scene of friendly argument. The two adventurers were really lucky to have each other in this strange new world and Leo couldn't help but feel a bit jealous of them, even if most of the time he preferred to do things on his own.
Liking to be alone from time to time didn't mean that he was a loner, he still needed someone to talk to and give his thoughts a voice, even the wildest wolf needed a little help from his kinds to survive and keep hunting another day. Unfortunately for him, Leo didn't have any acquaintances from real life stuck in the game with him, he indeed made some friends during his hunting sessions but because of his personality he never really opened to them. It felt weird, he was always surrounded by people and yet he felt alone, he was already beginning to miss the company of a true friend by his side, someone who could comprehend and give him strength and confidence during his weakest moments.
When the two adventurers finished their little argument, Leo suddenly heard the word fluffy coming from Kumori's mouth and promptly shifted his expression from a smiling one to one of annoyance, his ears also fell forward reflecting his feelings,
"I swear, if they say fluffy one more time..."
He thought in annoyance. Kumori stood up and extended his arm while thanking him on joining on the lunch, and also he somewhat lectured Leo on how to be respected. Leo raised an eyebrow while looking at the pony tailed assassin, he surely didn't need in the slightest that someone told him how to stand up for himself, especially since it just isn't a wise idea to get on Leo's bad side anyway.
"humph, Gimme a break"
Leo thought, then he got up too and shook the assassin's hand,
"It's been a pleasure getting to know you two, and don't worry for me, I can stand up for myself pretty fine""
He said with his usual confident look in his eyes, somehow there was always a great contrast to what Leo had in his mind and what he actually told to people, he didn't want to be rude, that wasn't his style at all. Caerbannog remained silent while the two men talked, then she followed Kumori as he took his leave. Leo returned to his seat and stretched, he wanted to stay there relaxing for a few more minutes before calling it a day and go back to the inn owned by that bear sized woman.
As Leo sit back, he raised his head to see that Caerbannog was still standing before him. Leo was about ask her why she was still there but the girl anticipated him once again,
“ I... I think you’re really cool! “
After saying that, she bowed and then rushed to catch up to Kumori. Leo was left confused and puzzled with that leaving, that girl was a living mystery. Leo scrolled his head to shake off his confusion, he crossed his arms behind his head and looked at the ceiling of the shop,
"This world just keeps getting weirder and weirder every passing day"
