Cutting them down to Size!

The honey gathering was rather easy now, it was not hard once they had taken the guardians of the hive out of the way he quietly watched as the girl used the smoke to knock the remaining bees out. With the honey collected from the hive the two would seemingly being to head back, every now, and then Bunji would have to move to the side a bit to prevent the smoke from the burning branch to enter his nostrils; causing some irritation with the unpleasant smell. With his katana at the waist the young man continue walking, keeping his senses heightened as he made sure to keep himself aware of their surroundings, they had faded some wild boars, a vicious beehive there was really no telling what other creatures lurked in this wild habitat. Eventually the two came to a clearing where the girl seemed to choose as her spot to begin preparing everything, the red haired fox tail would watch as the girl approached a nearby rock setting down a raspberry she would say a single word that echoed in his mind 'Squish', it did not take long for him to understand what she wanted.

Watching the example, he took in the details from her actions alone; so he was to squish the raspberries, and make a distance between them? He could manage that, reaching fo the scabbard of his katana he would it from his waist setting the weapon down next to him as he sat legs crossed. Grabbing some raspberries, he would set them up with a bit of space between them as he began to use the smaller rock to press down on them with the weight of the smaller rock. Using this tactic he would flatten the raspberries on the surface of the hot rock, which he had to admit was rather hot to the touch. He continued to repeat the process, setting up the plump raspberries then flattening them forcing their juices to spill, and stain the surface of the rock with red streaks. Once he had finished them all up he would set the rock down to his side, looking over at Caerbannog, he would wave a hand overheard to get her attention with the movement of his free limb. "Yo, I finished it up...uhm what do we do with them now?" he asked as he stood up picking his katana up with him from up high he looked down noticing how the rock looked like it was painted on with a bunch of rd dots which were really just the flattered raspberries.

He had zero knowledge on cooking, so he was just unsure as to how this was going to play into whatever meal this girl planned to make but he was curious, and he was happy that he got to help he at least would get to experience something new. The young fox tail stood silently waiting for the girl to give her next instructions, or better yet show him what she wanted him to do next.

Once the carrots and raspberries were cut and squished respectively, Caerbannog walked to a nearby tree and tried to get one big leaf. It was completely green, glossy, and about the size of her palm. To her annoyance, even the lowest branch was much too high for her. Hesitant but not too proud, the samurai looked at Bunji, waved at him then pointed to the leaf.

“ Please? “ she asked.

The chef patiently waited for Bunji to get the leaf and hand it to her. Afterwards, she would walk back to the carrots and raspberries. The girl would take out the honey and put some of it on the leaf, and then she would put some raspberries in it. She’d swirl the honey around the raspberries, and once they were completely covered, Caerbannog would take one slice of carrot and put a honey-covered raspberry on it. The girl then ate it just to make sure that it did not taste too strange. She then made another one and gestured for Bunji to take it.

“ Wants? “ she would ask the foxtail while offering the food item to him.

It was something easy to make and if the foxtail followed everything that she did, he could probably replicate it even though he was not a chef. Caerbannog’s first attempt, the one which she ate, looked a bit strange though because it had too much honey. It had seemed as if the raspberry was bleeding onto the carrot. The second one, which she handed to Bunji, looked slightly better: like a glossy raspberry on a little orange platter.

And what of the taste? The raspberry had a distinct fragrance, and wild honey was a little sour; their strange flavours would be balanced by the crispness and subtle sweetness of the carrot. It would only work with a fresh carrot, for a cooked one would have too much of a starchy texture.

The young man would stand quietly watching the girl as she wandered over to a nearby tree, he would approach the tree after the girl gestured towards one of the many leafs that decorated the many branches of the trees. He would approach the tree reaching up specifically for the leaf she had pointed out, grabbing hold for the base of the leaf he would yank it back making sure not to damage the leaf too much, once he handed it to her the young fox tail watched quietly as the girl put it all together. Overall from what he gathered, the leaf worked as a simple utensil in this recipe to prevent all the drizzled honey from getting all over the girls hand most likely, with the carrots, and the flattened raspberries resting over the circular carrots. He watched as she ate it, his red eyes blinking curiously as the girl suddenly put together another serving then held it out for him to take, he would give her a smile that was accompanied by a nod taking the carrot with the raspberry he would look it over watching the honey glazed treat for a moment. Popping it into his mouth he would stand there letting the surprisingly thick honey glaze of the surface of his tongue, giving his taste buds a bit of a tingle, when he bit down on the hard carrot with the soft raspberry layered over it.

His ears would twitch rather happily, his tail would wag side by side a bit faster, and a soft smile would tug at the corner of his lips "Mmm" he said as he nodded before swallowing the chewed up treat, some of the sweetness from both the carrot and the honey still lingering over his taste buds. "Wow, Caerbannog, that was good!" he said to the girl giving her a thumbs up with both hands, with that done he would look back at the raspberries, taking the leaf from the girls hand he would quickly mimic her throwing together his own mixture with the carrot, and raspberry bathed in the natural honey. He would hand it to her, "Is it just as good as yours?" he asked her with a soft chuckle wondering if she would even accept his own little silly gesture.

Long out of combat, Caerbannog’s wolf ears and tail had vanished. If they hadn’t, they would have twitched while she waited for Bunji’s comments on her cooking. Though it really was not ‘cooking’, more like putting ingredients together; it was something that even non-chef adventurers could do. When the other samurai seemed to have liked the sweets and tried to make his own, Caerbannog did not stop him and instead let him use the ingredients which they had gathered and prepared together.

“ Uwaa- “ she exclaimed, eyes widened, when she tried the sweets which the foxtail managed to create, “ It’s good! “

Putting two and two together, the girl pointed at the ingredients: one, two three.

“ All basic, “ she said, “ Not pre-made. “

She then poked a honey-dipped raspberry.

“ Combine, “ Caerbannog said to the foxtail, “ No cooking. “

The system did not allow non-chefs to generate food from system-assisted activities such as steaming, boiling, or frying. But if it was just a basic mixture of the ingredients which had their own core properties already, perhaps even non-chefs could do it. As long as none of the ingredients were pre-processed by the system, so it seemed. But… words. Much words already. After all that, the wolf hair samurai was visibly exhausted. Her body was fine but her mind was not quite there anymore.

“ Okay? Get? “ she wearily asked Bunji while preparing a few more of those sweets.

Once done, she would let the other samurai take some of the sweets or the ingredients if he wanted to. Then, Caerbannog would put away what was left of it.

He watched the girl as she tried the one he had put together, he lacked the fine skill that the girl had so portion control was out of the question on his end but either way the girl seemed to enjoy his snack, he would smile feeling rather proud of himself for pulling this off’ the girls reaction was a positive one after all. He would watch quietly as she began to unfold the instructions to putting this together, it was still a bit odd how she communicated with him but little by little he had become accustomed to it he was sure if she ran into him again he would get more used to her speech pattern. The Fox tails ears would find themselves wiggling just a bit as he listened to the girls words, giving her a thumbs up just as she was wrapping up he would say “I get it, just need some raspberries, then I need to fight off some bees to get honey, and I can reap the rewards” he said with a chuckle tossing in some sense of humor as he lowered his hand to his side. Watching as the girl threw together a few more of the snacks she seemed to give some space for him to take some if he wanted to, the redhead would nod his head towards the girl “Thanks, very much I really appreciate it” he said as he took a few of the snacks, wasting no time to pop them into his mouth.

Chewing around the sweet nectar of delight that where these particular snacks he would give her one more nod, “I think its about time we call it a day right?” he said to her, raising a free hand to give the girl one more thumbs up he shot her a soft smile from his features, “Watch your back out there, and see ya around” he said as he tossed another of the raspberry snacks into his mouth before turning to walk off towards the beaten path. As the fox tail walked, his tail found itself swaying side by side behind him as he finished off the last of the raspberry snacks he opened the user interface immediately a series of selections, and tabs floated just within hands reach in front of him. The male pressed a few tabs, clicked a few options; a message space opened giving him the ability to type up a quick message “Hey there Caerbannog! Its the Fox Tail Bunji, just sending you a friend request so we can team up again some time soon! : D “ with the smiley face neatly tucked in there he sent the request.

Closing the menu Bunji found himself walking along once again, until he hopped out of the wilderness and the narrow path that lead back to civilization…”Those were good” he said to himself still tasting the sweet honey over his taste buds.

Though mentally exhausted because of all the words that she had to use, Caerbannog was pleased that the other adventurer understood what she meant. Or at least he was being polite and made it look that way. She nodded at the fox tail then went on her way back to the city, though on a different path than the one which Bunji used. A few moments later, a notification popped up on her screen – why do those things pop up on her face?! Probably because she wasn’t used to controlling it?

- Friend request? – the samurai wondered what to do with it, because she still was not used to dealing with Elder Tale’s game interface.

After much concentration, and while careful not to click the Decline button, Caerbannog confirmed Bunji’s request. That put her Friends List to the highest that it had ever been; a whopping amount of three! Stryke, Kumori, Bunji. Proud of her accomplishments, the girl headed back to Londenium cheerfully.
