Potion of Nighteye 1 / 3
Ingredients Used:
Base Herb (Material Lv. 4) Impure Solvent (Material Lv. 5) Impure Solvent (Material Lv. 6) |
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Now that Han was finished making the Burn Cream, she decided to go on and try another recipe that was on the ever-shortening list of available potions and solutions that a Pharmacist could normally make. Seeing that her research claim on the Anti-Stun Tablets had yet to be verified, she sighed, wondering what was taking them so long to get around to doing that. Instead, she then decided to turn her sights on the next solution she was going to try to make, which was the Potion of Nighteye. It sounds better if it’s the Nighteye Solution, but who am I to argue? She thought as she then began setting up her work space once more. This time around, she noticed that it wouldn’t require the use of the ‘pot’ that she’d already taken out earlier; but it would require the use of another, much smaller utensil she never thought she’d use. “So… I have to toss everything together like I’m making spiked drinks for a party…” she said to herself, pondering at the possibilities of having spiked drinks in her possession. Ahh, I should have gone for Brewer instead of Pharmacist, but there are a lot of status ailments out there, and you never know if they would need healing… she thought to herself as she selected the ingredients she would be using for this attempt, finally deciding on one Base Herb, as well as two bottles of the Impure Solvent.
Maybe I should take my time and analyze the ingredients first… she thought with this dubious look on her face as she went through her ‘satchel’ where most of her Pharmacist Kit was stored, and finally came up with the medium-sized, clear glass bowl and then set it down atop the table. She then picked up the recently-cleaned mortar and pestle (which was looking a bit worn out) and then went back to the ‘kit’ and then started looking for the other mixer that she hadn’t even used yet; it was a smaller one; yet it was made of glass. I guess there’s a reason why this stirrer should only be used for no-cook solutions… she thought to herself as she emerged with a clear rod made of glass. She then carefully placed it in the bowl, before referring to her copy of the recipe that she was going to follow for today. Seeing that this recipe had something similar to the Burn Cream’s steps, she then uncorked one bottle of the Solvent and then slowly but surely poured it into the bowl; as the first part dictated that one bottle should be emptied of contents and left to stand for a while during the preparation steps. Wondering what the other bottle of Solvent, as well as the distinctly minty-scented Base Herb she was going to use would fall into the equation, she then scanned the next few lines of the recipe.
Ah, so that’s how it’s done… I have to steep the Herb in the other bottle of Solvent then? Wonder how this is going to work… she thought, about to perform the procedure when she noticed that she’d very nearly missed a line of text in the recipe. Ah shit, good thing I checked the steps… she thought to herself, smacking a palm to her face; because there was a step that said that the Herb had to be torn in half; and the other half had to be mashed in the mortar and pestle until it released its juices. “Oops,” she said to herself, quickly picking up said Herb and then very carefully ripping it down the middle; before placing one half of it in the other bottle of Solvent to steep. She then turned her attention to the other half of the Herb in the bowl, and then clicked her tongue; did she really have to mash this poor thing beyond recognition? She then snorted as she picked up the pestle and began pounding on the poor herb, hoping that the way she was grinding into it didn’t reduce the effectiveness of the entire Potion of Nighteye once she was done mashing the poor herb into nothingness.
After some time, she then checked the bowl and saw that there was some verge of liquid coming from the now powerful-smelling mint that was wafting up from the bowl, and she then consulted the recipe and saw that she had to mash as much ‘juice’ out of the Herb as possible; before adding that to the standing Solvent solution that was in the bowl. I wonder why one half of it has to stand exposed to the air… she thought to herself, continuously mashing the poor thing into a pulp. Maybe it has something to do like with water from the faucet back out in the real world… let it stand for a while to let the bad ingredients evaporate from it? She continued to herself, whistling a tune as she continued pounding into the bowl.

Potion of Nighteye 2 / 3

Base Herb (Material Lv. 4) Impure Solvent (Material Lv. 5) Impure Solvent (Material Lv. 6) |
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Her whistling helped her to concentrate on the task at hand, now that the pounding sound was getting much louder than she’d normally want it to be. Checking to see that the minty scent was now more powering than it was earlier, Han then saw that the herb she was pounding was almost reduced to pulp. Seeing that there was approximately enough for the solution at hand, she then consulted the recipe and then saw that the next step would be to pour the extracted juice from the mashed herb into the standing Solvent—the bowl that she’d not disturbed after emptying the contents of one bottle into it and just ‘letting it be’ for a while until she was done. She then squinted at the steps and saw that the next thing she needed to do was to mix the two juices together after combining. She then hefted the mortar into her hands and then ever so gently poured out the extracted ‘mint juice’ into the Solvent, being very careful not to let the mashed-up Herb fall into the liquid as well. Once the mortar had been sufficiently drained, she then picked up the glass stirrer and then consulted the recipe one more time, and saw that she had to swill the stirrer through the liquid, making sure that it was evenly distributed.
“Here goes...” she said to herself, slowly but surely mixing the extracted juice together with the Solvent, and watching as the juice melded together with the Solvent, forming some kind of greenish-colored ‘water’ as she called it; and then taking a sniff. Hmm, smells quite good now… she thought to herself, continuing to gently mix the two ingredients together in a clockwise direction, before her free hand snatched up the other bottle where the remaining half of the herb was steeping in the Solvent and bringing it much closer to where she was working. She then cast another glance towards the recipe that she was following, and saw that once the desired ‘greenish hue’ had been reached, the other bottle containing the steeped solution should be added and then mixed accordingly. “Well that looks easy enough…” she said to herself, before seeing that there was ‘fine print’ underneath the rest of the steps needed. Ah crap, how did I not see that? She thought to herself, quickly casting a furtive glance at the bottle with the steeped solution, realizing that she had to take the remaining half of the Herb out of the bottle and then pour the entire contents out into the bowl that contained the mixed solution.
“Crap, how am I going to do this…” she hissed to herself, looking again at the bottle and seeing that the herb was floating at the very top, close to the bottle’s mouth. Hoping that it was a safe idea, she then uncorked the bottle and then tried to fish out the herb with her hand—before remembering that all the mixtures had to be made without human contamination! “Crap, you forgot to put on the gloves!” she hissed, her hand almost sinking into the solution. She then pulled back and went over to her ‘kit’ and then extracted a pair of gloves, and then repeated the process, secretly glad she still had the impulse to stop herself from doing something stupid. After she had removed the submerged herb, she then tipped the bottle over, watching as the two different solutions mixed together, and a hissing sound emanated from the surface. I hope this is right… she thought, picking up the stirrer and continuing to mix the two solutions together; who knew that something this easy to make had such a complicated recipe?!
After some mixing, she saw that the solution as now swirling between a shade of forest-green and something reminiscent of grass, and there were additional instructions. “Wait a second, what?!” she said out of surprise, seeing that she now had to grind the steeped herb and extract the imbibed juices and then add it to the current mixture which she was supposed to let stand for some time! “Oh, you have got to be kidding me…” she said to herself as she then went over to the mortar and pestle, and then dumped the soggy herb into the bowl. She then picked up the mortar and began grinding and pounding it into dust (or what semblance of dust she could manage with a soggy herb that distinctly now smelled of something other than mint) in order to be able to extract as much juice as she could; she really needed to move on to the last few steps in order to be able to concoct the next potion on her list so that she could at least have experience with all the existing recipes!

Potion of Nighteye 3 / 3
Ingredients Used:
Base Herb (Material Lv. 4) Impure Solvent (Material Lv. 5) Impure Solvent (Material Lv. 6) |
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | The pestle was now grinding into the mortar (mostly out of frustration) and Han didn’t realize that she was doing it until the ingratiating, grinding sound caught her attention. She then stopped and saw that the herb now looked like it had been attacked by a creature; yet there was still juice that she had managed to extract! “Hah, at least I got something out of it,” she said to herself, quickly taking another look at the steps she needed to complete in order to be able to wrap up with this particular recipe! She then flicked the pulpy herb out and away from the bowl and then brought it once again towards the standing solution that was now shimmering strangely, and then dumped in the contents of the bowl and heard another sizzling noise as liquid met liquid. She then picked up the glass stirrer and then began swirling the liquid together once again; seeing that the shift in color was now flashing through all known variations of the color green. Hoping that she was right, she then consulted the final few steps and saw that she would have to stir it a certain number of times and then let it stand again, before repackaging it into a fresh bottle for future use.
She then began whistling once again, as she kept an eye on the potion’s surface, while mentally counting how many stirs she needed to complete before letting the entire thing just stand and be exposed to the air. After she’d reached the desired number of stirs, she then let the glass stirrer fall to one side, and heard it clearly ringing throughout the room; and then she went off to begin cleaning up her work space and in order to prepare for the remaining two solutions that she was going to make; she then took a look outside the window and saw that it was getting to be pretty late in the day. But I have to keep going… she thought to herself as she began washing the battered mortar and pestle, before setting them out to air-dry. She then cast a glance at the bowl and saw that the colors had stopped shifting, and it was now a hazy, yet distinct shade of sea-green. Wondering if enough time had passed, she then made her way over to the bowl and then picked up the stirrer; and then licked the end that had been submerged in the solution. It tasted quite prickly, at first… but then she found herself blinking several times, because the environment was seemingly swirling around in a haze; before everything suddenly turned into this weird shade of phosphorescent green.
“Did it work…?” she said to herself as she cast her gaze towards a particularly dark segment of the room where she was currently located in; and saw that she could see everything in that direction; although the slight problem was that everything was this hazy neon-green in her line of vision. “Heh, at least I know it works,” she said to herself, licking her lips (and the rest of the glass stirrer) in order to test the full strength of the solution that she’d just made. Seeing that it was working out just fine, she then began cleaning up the stirrer, before putting it away; and then reaching for a fresh, empty bottle. She then slowly ladled the contents into the bottle before placing a cork in the mouth, therefore sealing it. She also noticed that the potion itself was glowing the same hazy green color she’d been seeing everything in for some time now, and chuckled to herself; what if the potion had something that made it seemingly ‘glow in the dark’? Satisfied with the results, she then proceeded to clean out the bowl; in order to be able to prepare for the next thing that she was going to brew.
