Lesser Mana Potion 1 / 3
Materials Used:
1 Impure Solvent (Material Lv. 6) 2 Mana Fragments |
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Han’s hands were actually trembling with excitement now; simply because this was one of the potions that she had been waiting for; the Mana Potion. Sure, the description may have said that it could only restore a certain amount of mana per level; but it was definitely better than nothing. The little snag here though, was that it required Mana Fragments, something that she didn’t have… or so she thought. She then made a quick dash out of her ‘hole’ and then looked for the nearest stall that was selling Mana Fragments; and was running back as fast as she could manage, holding a small bag that had ten pieces of the important commodity, after forking over 200 Gold in exchange for them. Thank gods they’re cheap… she thought as she then re-entered her little hiding hole and then went right away to the working space; and then setting the bag that had the precious cargo ever so carefully on the table top. Knowing that the Mana Fragments would immediately melt upon physical contact, she would have to handle this with extreme care; and as such she had gone over to her ‘kit’ and extracted a pair of tongs that were normally used for holding test tubes over fires; but this one was used to handle Mana Fragments instead.
They’re extremely picky, she thought as she then set the tongs down on the working space; and then grabbed her updated copy of recipes; before giving it the once-over and then seeing that she had to grind the Mana Fragments into a fine powder before mixing it together with the Impure Solvent; which she guessed could be impure tap water that had to be left in another bowl to stand for a while. She then looked at the actual recipe and saw that it would involve steeping one of the Fragments in a bowl full of Solvent; while the other Fragment was to be ground up into as fine a powder as possible before being mixed together with the steeped solution. There was even a foot note on the recipe and she read it, albeit to herself: “Warning: make sure that the Mana Fragment does not touch any part of your exposed body, because these Fragments will melt on contact with oils found on human skin,” and at that she placed the copy of the recipe down, and eyed the bag that she’d recently purchased suspiciously. Oh, so that’s why the guy who sold me these fragments said to be extremely careful when handling these things… she thought with this pensive look on her face. “Alright, time to wear the gloves!” she continued to nobody in particular; and in moments she had on a pair of working gloves.
“Now, first step…” she said to herself, taking out the bottle of Impure Solvent and then pouring the entire contents out into the recently-washed glass bowl and then leaving it there to stand. She knew that leaving the Solvent to stand exposed to the air would actually make the final product much better; and unless the recipe called for it, she’d often do this first. Now that the bowl had been filled, she then picked up the tongs, before shifting the bag containing the Mana Fragments closer to her person; and then carefully grasping the tongs in her right hand. she then opened the bag with her left, and saw that there were ten glittering stones that were glowing a faint bluish hue; and she then plucked one out of the pile; and then held it in the tongs as long as she could manage while getting the mortar and pestle ready with her left hand. Sometimes it just sucked having to do things with one hand; but Han was getting used to doing it anyway; and she then carefully placed the glowing Mana Fragment in the mortar. Once the ‘precious cargo’ had been deposited in the bowl, she then placed the tongs near the bag that contained the Mana Fragments; and then picked up the pestle, ready to grind the poor thing into dust.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Han then took a look at the Mana Fragment that now sat in the bowl; and then sighed, before proceeding to crush and grind the Fragment into a fine powder underneath the pestle. She was thankful that the working gloves she was wearing extended almost all the way up to her elbow; so she didn’t have to worry about any of the Fragments scattering and melting by complete accident on her skin. This proceeded in silence for some time, until she took another look at the recipe that she was following and saw that the water had to be left standing for at least five minutes before adding the second Mana Fragment in order to let the ‘magic’ it was emanating to seep into the water. Well, I haven’t been doing this for more than one minute, so I better keep grinding this… she thought to herself as she continued to pound the Mana Fragment in order to be able to at least get half of the steps done; she sighed in relief as she read the rest of the steps and saw that this was a no-cook mixture! The pounding sound of the pestle served to relax her as she tried to keep track of the time; and there was an unearthly glow coming from the bowl by the time she looked down at it once again.
“Looks pretty…” she said to herself, seeing that the crushed-up Mana Fragment was now shimmering like iridescent glitter; so she left the mortar and pestle alone for the meantime, and then picked up the tongs as well as the bag of Mana Fragments once again. This time, though, she approached the bowl and ever so carefully inserted the tongs inside yet again; before managing to pluck out another one of the Fragments that she needed to toss into the Solvent that had now been left to air out. Once she had the Fragment, she slowly dropped it, and watched as the bluish hue of the Mana Fragment glowed softly through the water, making it turn a soft shade of sky blue; even if the Solvent was supposed to be colorless. “This looks even prettier…” she thought as she then went back to the mortar and pestle and continued to grind up the remaining chunks of the first Fragment she’d deposited there initially; and after some time, the entire bowl was now emitting a weird glow that looked more serene than sinister. She then snatched up the recipe list that she had and saw that she would have to swill the water that had the other Fragment before adding the ground-up Fragment to the mix; and then…
“Well this recipe sure is complicated, I have to crush the other one as well after letting it steep in the water?” she muttered to herself, before deciding to move the mortar and pestle as close to the glass bowl as possible so that she didn’t have to keep going back and forth between the two work tables she had set up right now. She then hefted up said utensils and moved much closer to where the bowl was; and then saw that she’d left the tongs near the bowl. Perfect, she thought with a grin as she dropped out the glass stirrer and then stuck it in the bowl, swilling the water and the Fragment together; and was it just her imagination; or was the Fragment actually flaking while it was in the water…? She then blinked and then continued swilling it until the water seemingly took on a glowing, soft hue as well. She then extracted the Mana Fragment using the tongs and then left the wet Fragment to dry as she picked up the pestle and then proceeded to tip it over the bowl, making sure that none of the glittery powder was wasted. It took some maneuvering (no thanks to the glass stirrer) to make sure that all the powder safely made it to the distilled Solvent.
After checking the recipe once again, she then saw that she would have to ground up the steeped Fragment and then add that to the now-mixed solution and then mix it all together… “Man, this recipe is crazy…” she said to herself as she then began stirring the powder and the solution together; watching as the soft hue grew in intensity as the powdery particles were dissolved due to the mixing motions that she was doing right now.

Lesser Mana Potion 3 / 3

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | As the soft glow changed and took on a more powerful hue, Han then saw that after a certain number of stirs, she’d have to leave the mixed solution alone again; wondering why it had to be left to the air. This is one strange recipe… she thought as she left the stirrer against tone side of the bowl and let that mixture stand for a while. Returning back to the mortar and pestle that now contained the steeped Mana Fragment; she clucked her tongue at the glowing fragment, before sighing and picking up the pestle in order to grind the beautiful Fragment that was glowing in the bowl. “Oh well,” she sighed, pounding the thing into crystal. With each successive crunch of the pestle, she couldn’t help but sigh; but it was going to be used for the greater good anyway; and she shelved her annoyance and returned to the task. The grinding noise also helped her think; and then once the grating noise was gone, she shook the bowl and saw that there was something in it that looked like glitter glue; but not like it at the same time. “Weird,” she said to nobody in particular as she then shook the bowl and then saw that it was glowing like something that could glow in the dark, if given the chance.
She then consulted the recipe and saw that the last few steps would call for mixing this newly-crushed Fragment into the solution, before letting it stand for a bit and then bottling. So that’s what she did: she then picked up the mortar and poured it into the shimmering liquid, while tapping and shaking the sides to make sure that none of the solution was wasted; and then picked up the glass stirrer and proceeded to mix the glowing water together; in order to try to dispel the unusual glow that was coming from the liquid beneath her. She then noticed that after two minutes of non-stop stirring, the glow was receding somewhat, but not completely as the final solution didn’t have a glow. Ah, that’s why it has to be left alone so that whatever is making it glow would just… evaporate and then leave it as it is, she thought to herself, looking at the mixture and then moving to start clean-up of the used mortar and pestle in order to be able to have it ready for the final Pharmacist potion that she could make; because after the two new additions, that was basically the end of the line for it… at least for the moment.
She went over to the ‘wash area’ and proceeded to scrub off as much of the glowing powder on the utensils that she’d used, and after spending around five minutes, she stole a glance and saw that most of the glow was gone; but there was still hints and traces remaining. Once she was sure that the mortar and pestle were clean, she then took it back and then placed it on the other work table in order to let it dry; before returning to the bowl of the mixture; and then swilling it together a few more times, and then leaving it alone as she prepared the funnel and the bottle that she was going to use in order to bottle the solution. After making sure that everything was ready, she took another glance at the solution, and saw that it was now a perfect shade of blue and that it was not glowing; she then sighed in relief as she picked up the bowl and then inserted the funnel into the neck of the bottle. Slowly but surely, she filled up the bottle and saw that it was just enough for one use; she then wondered just how potent this version of her Mana Potion would be; since she’d used an ingredient that was level six along with two Mana Fragments. “Not my place to think,” she said to herself, picking up a cork and gently shaking out the funnel, before stoppering the bottle and taking the bowl, along with the stirrer and funnel, to the ‘wash area’.
Eight down, and one more to go… she thought as she proceeded to clean up the remaining used utensils, and then taking them back in order to let them dry, before proceeding with the last thing she needed to make before proceeding with her ever-lengthening research queue; which was the Anti-Poison Poultice.
