"Murder them," the venomous flower bud cooed into her ear. "Smash them! Tear them! Dig them up! Leave not one leaf or thorn untouched!" Capsule shuffled about feebly. The large patch of briers and vines she found herself entangled in dug in more and more, pulling her further from the surface. Prior to this current predicament, the redheaded Enchanter was fleeing from a level forty six Brier Weasel. Her trek outside the city this afternoon was cut short by the small group of vine tailed monsters lingering near the gate. It was nothing she could not handle on her own, or so she had assumed at the time.
The weasels she first saw were under the level of ten, and therefore not a threat to the level fifty Enchanter. If push came to shove, Mind Shock would be more than enough to disorient the little demons, and off she could be on her merry little way. That was what she was thinking, until the higher level daemon made itself known. Mind Shock was casted as a precaution, though in her panic she ran away from the safety the city boasted, and out into the wilderness. With the Weasels on her heels, Capsule unwittingly threw herself into a thicket, foolishly assuming that she would roll to a safe stop outside of the thorns. This was not like the time with Kass, though; instead of rolling out of the patch minimally scathed, the fabric of her cloak and armor snagged and held her in place.
Of what became of the Weasels, she could not say, however it seemed that another, easier target caught their attention sometime after the Enchanter fell in. Only one succumbed to its curiosity, and after sniffing at the Enchanter from a few feet away, it darted off. That left Capsule alone to fight for her freedom, and to do so she used the sharp edge of her kukri. Chibi Maya-chan continued to curse and hiss murderous commands in her ear. Something the flower bud said caught the woman's interest - burn them. Capsule lacked the ability to do so at the moment, but maybe, just maybe…
"Nngh!" Pain radiated up her arm when she accidentally nicked herself with her own blade. Luckily for her, it was a clean cut, so the pain was minimal. The drops of blood from her now free arm caused Chibi Maya-chan some distress. Her ranting grew incoherent as she reverted to a language unfamiliar to Capsule. Chibi Maya-chan was quick to discard her own race, but at least she gave Capsule some solid ideas. A potion to damage plants and plantlike monsters should definitely be a thing, and would have been nice to have when they were fighting the Maledict Mayahuel, Chibi Maya-chan's "mother". Most land based plants feared fire, right? So why shouldn't something that acted as an incendiary device give them cause to pause?
Capsule devised a plan while she hacked herself free of the thorns and vines binding her in place. It was a shaky research plan at best, but surely it was possible. If she could not make an incendiary device, then some kind of toxic poison for plants would work. If not, she could always make a volatile potion.
The last chop of her kukri freed her legs, which she swung around to get her momentum moving. Chibi Maya-chan went from otherworldly cursing to flinging childish insults at the thicket behind them. 'It looks like I finally have an excuse to try and blow things up.' Her knowledge in the field of chemistry was lacking, which was all that mattered, no? Sometimes the biggest mistakes could give rise to wonderful things.
