: Equipment : Starter Katana : Skills : Healing Light “Why you little…” Ryker rumbled as the creature in front of him began to hiss and stick its tongue out at him. It was a snake, a level one Broken Horned Snake. It looked like one of those horned snakes, but obviously the horns were broken. Its appearance was unsightly, and Ryker didn’t understand what the hell it was at first, and then he recalled what a water snake looked like. Funny thing was, the slithering rat-muncher in front of him looked nothing like a water snake. It was way to fat and its scales were far too pointy. It was also overly aggressive. And yet, Ryker still found it hilarious that the little thing was trying to nip at him.
As a Cleric Ryker’s first ability was a healing spell, Healing Light, and he was learning that it was very useful in such a simple situation. Against a weak monster like the snake in front of him, Ryker simply just beat the thing over the head while ensuring that he kept himself healed. The snake was a bit of a biter, but it was just as scared of Ryker as Ryker was of it; Ryker wasn’t scared. Then again, it didn’t seem like the snake knew how to use any venom. That was good because Ryker didn’t know how to use the katana he was swinging around. It was sort of sharp, hardly shined, and was a little longer than Ryker would have liked which made it difficult to use. In addition to that, the back of the weapon was more fun to use than the sharp edge. With each hit, the snake shook and did a bit of a stagger motion with its head. Ryker chuckled every time.
“Ouch!” Ryker yelped as the snake shot forward, latching onto his thigh in a fit of anger. Again. Its teeth sank deep into his leg, puncturing the muscle and poking the bone beneath, but they were quickly retracted after the attacked person smacked the snake over the head multiple times in rapid succession. The creature hissed loudly, flexed back, and slithered a few feet away. As Ryker cast his healing spell on himself, the Snake curled up into a ball and stared at him. It was almost mocking Ryker as it sat there, under the shade of a tree, out of the sunlight. Ryker rumbled and wiggled his nose at the sight. He shook the sword in his hand and snarled, exposing the pair of fangs which his new race gave him.
“I’m gonna chop your head off, skin you, and wear your flesh like a bandana!” The threat from Ryker seemed to make the snake hesitate. It perked up a little, stopped hissing, and stared at the white fox boy. Ryker stared back for a long moment before standing up straight. What did he just say? “Wait… what? No. Ew. That’s just nasty.” The fox shuddered at the thought of doing something so disgusting and gagged a little. He would never wear a snake, let alone skin it. He would rather just push the thing away or feed it to a bird. Then at least it was more natural. “I’m just gonna kill you…” Ryker mumbled, wiggling his katana before batting the snake over the head again. Little rat-muncher…

Walking into the grove for a productive day of grinding, Himir had began to look around for a small companion to help him grind some monsters. During his search for the best suitable monster, Himir had picked up some unsavory words from some distance away from his current position. Following the source of the noise, Himir had come across a short fox-tail with white hair fighting snake. Looking at the fox-tail Himir noticed that the male fox-tail was a healer, this had put a large smile on Himir's face as this would be his first time working together with another player, and he was a healer to boot, Himir's tail was wagging in excitement.
Drawing his sword and shield, Himir had charged forward to assist the Katana wielding cleric in hopes of finding his first friend and someone to level up with. Coming from an entry point that would not allow the snake to be alerted of Himir's hulking figure, he charged shield first into the snake smashing, the flat of the shield into the snake followed up by two slashes of his sword. To make sure that Himir was the target of the monster, he had placed himself between the snake and the cleric, thinking this was enough to take the aggro from the potential friend.

: Equipment : Starter Katana : Skills : Healing Light “Waaacha!” A heavy smack from the side of his blade caused the snake to hiss loudly as its head snapped away. It glared at the white haired fox and set back up for another attack, but was once again struck. This time, Ryker drove the slithering animal’s head into the dirt. The dual impact caused a little more damage than initially anticipated, but that did not matter. The snake’s health had dropped into the yellow zone now and Ryker was even closer to getting his reward; a delicious dose of venomous experience and slime covered items which would mysteriously appear in exchange for the snake’s body. Aw yis. Aw. Yis.
However before Ryker could attack again or really do anything, the sound of metal clanging echoed through the small area. Ryker stared at the snake for a moment as his ears twitched, attempting to find the source, before turning his head toward the noise; it was another player! More specifically, it was one of the more heavily armored folk who liked to run up and attack things while taking a lot of damage. What were they? They were the Knight class right? Yea, the knight class. Wait, no. That wasn’t the name… Knight, Paladin, Shieldman, Guardi—That’s it! Guardians! He was a Guardian. Man, Ryker needed to get his classes down. But then again, there were multiple classes who could use heavy armor. After picking his own class, Cleric, he discovered that he too could wear some big clunky pieces of metal to protect himself. The game even gave him some to wear. Robes were much more fitting of a mage though, and far more comfortable. Though, he could see why some players would sacrifice being comfortable for survivability. Ryker didn’t like to die. He had not been lucky enough to know the experience so far and he would like to keep it that way.
“Uh… Excuse me…” As Ryker watched the player charge forward, he pardoned himself from in front of the snake and stepped to the side. The snake perked up and hissed loudly for a minute, most likely confused, but by the time it finally heard the train coming from behind it was already too late. The snake was bashed into violently by the new arrival’s shield, shoving the little creature airborne for a few feet as the Guardian slowed to a halt. Still a little dazed by the impact, the snake was struck twice by the new player’s sword. All in all, quite a bit of damage had fallen on the Snake and its health bar reflected that. Ryker, a little frightened by the vicious scene he had just seen, stayed still and stared at the new face. Though, as he looked the new player from head to toe, he caught sight of the snake’s health bar.
Making his way over to the front of the shield-user, Ryker raised his old sword and then smacked the snake on the top of the head a couple times. The blunt damage stacked up and finally caused the weary creature to flop over onto its side. It lay there for a moment, still, quiet, hissing, until the game finally blessed it with transport to a higher plane of existence. When that occurred, the snake popped into dozens of little lights, items, and an experience screen appeared in front of Ryker. The Fox grinned and his ears wiggled a little from the joy as he collected his keep.
“Thanks for the help, fellow.” As Ryker dismissed his screens, in a very sloppy manner at that, he acknowledged the appearance of the new face and was quite happy for it. Without him, he would have been duking it out for a lot longer than he had wanted. Now he could at least move on, but first; Ryker cast Healing Light on himself, letting his health recover steadily.
“What brings you out this way?” Rather than jump into combat with his health broken up a little, Ryker decided to take some time to learn of the new Adventurer. It wasn’t every day that a train came charging out from the trees to run over an attacker.

Sheathing his sword in to the inside of his shield, Himir began to run the fight back in his head over and over. He thought about how quickly his new ally had adjusted to his entry and he took note on how he can attack from his back. "I came here for a day of grinding, I saw you fighting that snake and thought that you could use a ally." said Himir, he smiled the biggest smile he could and his ears and tails were perked up and he seemed to be absolutely glowing.

: Equipment : Starter Katana : Skills : Healing Light “Grinding huh?” Ryker repeated. That was actually a good idea! Ryker was still level one and he didn’t exactly plan to increase his level at all, but now with the appearance of this Adventurer he had the opportunity to better himself. There was no way that he would let that slip, so Ryker extended his hand out towards the Guardian in a sign of both acceptance and a bit of a subtle contract. This man had come to grind before Ryker was even in his mind and now was willing to assist Ryker if necessary. However, it would most likely be the other way around. Ryker was just a Healer, which meant that he would play the support role. Either way, it would be experience for them both.
“I definitely could use some help! My name is Ryker, friend. Pleasure to meet you.” Grinning as he spoke, Ryker held his hand out for a shake. After the greeting and introduction, he opened his menu, fumbled through the screens, and started a party. Upon doing so, he extended an invitation to his fellow Adventurer.
“I am a Cleric, a Healer, so I’ll play as your support. I don’t have an amazing healing spell so try not to get too roughed up. I’ll do what I can to make sure you stay alive.” As he spoke, Ryker tended to the wounds he had gathered himself from his battle with the snake. He cast Healing Light on himself once its cooldown timer finished and then wiggled a little in the warmth. Oh how that felt nice…
“Now let’s have some fun, shall we?” Chuckling a little to himself, Ryker turned to look at the various monsters in the zone. He held his own legs back and instead waited for the Guardian to move first. He would follow close behind wherever his new partner went.

Accepting his invite Himir shook his new ally's hand hoping for a productive day. "I'm excited to see what you can do with that katana, thanks for offering to be my support too,", Thinking about the katana Himir had theorized that this will not be the stereotypical healer that sits bck and lets the tank do most of the damage. "I am a animal trainer so if I can I will attempt to get a little buddy every once in a while, I new to it so it takes a while and there is a chance they will get aggressive with me if I fail."
"Excuse me for a moment. i need to get an ally." looking around the area for the nearest health bar, Himir had found a level 3 snake slithering around through branches and trees. Getting down low as to not alert the snake of his hulking appearance Himir stalked to within 15 meters of the creature, activating his Scout ability Himir held his hand out waiting for the snake to respond to his call. The snake raised its body and stared at Himir, seeming to decide whether to accept his invitation to help or not. Slithering towards the large metal figure, the snake then began to crawl up and through Himir's armor until it was wrapping itself around his head like a scaly crown. This sensation gave the guardian a bad case of hives, but he could not let the nearby Cleric or the snake know of his feeling.
Walking back towards the white fox-tail Himir had seen that he was staring at the snake wrapping himself around his head. Thinking of a way to lighten the mood Himir put on one of the biggest smiles he ever done and said "look, I'm the king of the snakes!", looking around at the other snakes spawning Himir had targeted the first snake he saw. It was level 4 and seemed to be waiting to be killed, selecting the snake as his target the snake wrapped around his head uncoiled and used Himir's head as a launching pad and flew towards the stronger snake; following up after the snake Himir rushed towards his target with his shield ready to bash the unfortunate creature, his animal companion took one bite from the larger snake giving Himir a good window of time for multiple strikes. Himir was withing range for his sword to hit so he slashed downwards with his sword and spun with the momentum and brought the edge of his shield down onto the snakes back to forcing it to release his companion. Unfortunately this had drawn the attention of two other snakes in his immediate vicinity, a level one snake and a level 5 snake had began to slither towards Himir ready to bite this savage aggressor to death. Himir looked back towards his ally and said with determination "this fight may get a little difficult, if me and my companion fall I want you to run."

: Equipment : Starter Katana : Skills : Healing Light At first Ryker wanted to tell the Guardian how wrong he was about the katana the Cleric held, but instead he held his tongue for the moment, or maybe he wouldn’t say anything at all. Ryker was unsure yet but he would have to tell the player at some point, probably. The reason Ryker hesitated was because before his cousin essentially pushed Ryker to play Elder Tale, he had never picked up anything which could be considered a weapon aside from his fishing knife. Due to the uses it had, he put into the label of “tool”, not weapon. He had also never been in any kind of real, true, altercation which led to any sort of fighting. The closest thing to fighting Ryker ever got into was arguments over prices, and those never really got too bad. Though, Ryker could also consider his fight with the snake earlier his first however that was something virtual. It was also only three minutes or so ago, so that left Ryker with probably five minutes of combat experience up to the point he was at. Dear god and this player thought he had some skill. No, bad.
Yet, before Ryker could speak up, his new party friend explained that he was an animal trainer. Rather than be happy about such a thing, Ryker waited for the words which followed; the man added that he was new to the class. That actually was not much of a surprise. Ryker seemed to be bumping into a lot of newer players and the appearance of another wasn’t very unexpected. Londinium was the starting area of course. Although, learning that his new partner could pull in a third friend didn’t put him at ease either. If he thought that Ryker was a good fighter, and the man was going to put himself on the line to protect the two of them, than Ryker seriously needed to explain himself. At least then the other player wouldn’t end up doing anything extreme which could very quickly end up to the group all dying. Ryker was a Cleric, a terrible one at that, and the Katana he had was literally just a metal stick with a slightly sharp side. Its edge was only sharp because of the fantastic craftsmanship, nothing else. There were also chips in the blade’s edge and some rust had begun to build on the handle. Even if Ryker had any skill at all, his weapon was a terrible one to hold.
“Uh… Mister… uh…” Ryker hesitated for a moment before he threw out a random name, as the Adventurer hadn’t really introduced himself. To save himself, Ryker read the player’s name off the party list which hovered just off to the side of his visual display. Thank the heavens for virtual reality…
“Mister Eonis. I’m not—“ Ryker started to speak, but before he could get anything more out Eonis excused himself to… find another ally? That must have meant that he was going to use his Animal Trainer skill. Ryker had very little experience with animals aside from fish so he kept back and waited patiently, watching at the player walked away towards a distant snake. While he waited, Ryker began to pull together words that he would say to Eonis once he returned. It worried him to no end knowing that the man could endanger himself over a meager misconception, and Ryker didn’t want that kind of blood on his hands. He didn’t want blood on his hands at all!
But, he kept his mouth shut and waited. Crossing his arms, Ryker watched as the friendly player made his way back towards Ryker. At first, there wasn’t much of a change in his appearance and Ryker tilted his head in question of what he had done. Yet that didn’t last long. Out from beneath Eonis’s armor, a snake slithered its way up and began to wrap itself around the player’s head. Ryker grimaced at the sight and stared for a moment, and even as the Guardian smiled and joked, it didn’t put Ryker at ease. That was a monster which could easily snap and bit his head while constricting his neck. Either he was extremely brave or had a death wish; Ryker hoped it was bravery.
“Sir, I have to—“ Just as he spoke up, again, the worrywart was cut off as Eonis turned his attention towards the closest snake he could. A moment later, his new friend launched off his head and the two began combat. Ryker rumbled a little, angry with himself that he had no spoken up sooner, and squeezed his aged katana. There was no going back now. Raising his right hand as the battle ensued, Ryker cast Healing Light on his ally, bathing the player in a bright collection of warmth which would heal him steadily. Then, he began to countdown in his head.
“Eonis, I don’t have any skill with my weapon; I’m a fisherman!” Moving up to the Guardian’s right, Ryker sliced at the neck of an incoming level one snake, striking it with all of his might. His arm wiggled and his body tensed up as his teeth clenched. He felt goosebumps flow over his body as adrenaline flowed through him. That… was very aggressive…
“I’m very poor at combat!” He shouted, hoping that his ally heard him as he stared at the snake… which was now… looking at him… Ryker’s eyes opened wide as he realized what he had just done; drawn the hate of the creature.
“Oh crap...” Ryker quickly pulled his weapon away from the Snake and backpedaled quickly, immediately creating a massive gap between himself and the oversized reptile as the pair of red eyes shined and refocused on him. That was not smart.

Noticing Ryker suddenly creating distance from the level one snake, Himir roaring loudly and with great fury disengaged from his current target and charged at the unfortunate reptile targeting his ally. Thinking about how quickly he needed to get back to his companion that is currently handling a snake more powerful than itself by one level and a more stronger snake on the way, Himir came from behind the snakes view and slashed at it's body diagonally and followed up with a powerful bashing from the flat of his shield. Catching it's attention instantly the snake charged forward and bit at Himir's sword hand, it's bite connected but it did minimal damage due to Himir's plate armor and thanks to Ryker's healing spell. Yanking the small snake off, the enraged guardian threw the small beast to the ground and slashed at it with his sword ferociously until it shined a disappeared into many colorful fragments.
Coming down from his berserk state, Himir turned to see if his companion was hurt in any way and he saw that his entire demeanor seemed to be nervous and hesitant. Himir then thought about the situation that he must have put the cleric into, fighting three snakes two of which were higher levels than all members of the current party, one healing spell, and a over excited tank. This would make any person feel nervous and to make matters worse he did not even formally introduce himself, those facts began to weigh down on Himir's fighting spirit and for a moment he began to feel dejected, his ears and tail drooping down low along with his back so it seemed his entire frame was actually shrinking. Himir stood motionless staring at the incoming level five snake approaching his person with a dangerous gleam in its eyes, turning to look at his companion on what to do next.

: Equipment : Starter Katana : Skills : Healing Light "Move, move, move, move, move!” That was all which went through Ryker’s mind as he backpedaled from the snake in front of him; he needed to get away from it as quickly as possible and get into a defensive stance where he could at least prepare for an attack. The snakes were fast and snapped at a much faster pace than Ryker could react to. The one he had fought solo was hard enough but the Guardian was attracting plenty of them now, and that would make it nearly impossible for Ryker to avoid everything. Distance would be his friend, but so would the Hate meters.
After getting a few meters between himself and the snake, Eonis made his way across the field and intercepted the lone snake that was looking at Ryker. Ryker initially wanted to jump back in, but he restrained himself. He had run away and had no right to show courage now. Instead he cast Healing Light on Eonis, switching from an aggressive player to support as he had said he would. Due to his spell and Eonis’s armor, the snake bite which the Guardian received dealt minor damage. That was a relief and it would most likely be the only one. Glancing over to his left, Ryker caught sight of the “friendly”, semi-domesticated Snake duking it out with its unfriendly counterpart. It was doing well, but the enemy was stronger. It had a higher level and there was no doubt in Ryker’s mind that it was stronger physically as well. Even so, Ryker was hesitant of casting a healing spell on a monster. Other players were one story, but defending a beast which could just as quickly turn on him did not sound like a genius idea. It sounded like suicide.
And yet, Ryker grit his teeth and narrowed his eyes. Whether the snake was a previous enemy or not did not matter. Right then, in that moment, that animal was putting its life on the line to protect Ryker and Eonis. There was no changing that, so Ryker would not ignore its bravery. Upon the timer for his healing spell blanking out, Ryker’s right hand shot forward and he fired a spell at the slightly tamed Snake, causing its health to steadily begin to recover. His job as a Healer was to ensure that all allies survived the fight with as little damage as possible, and that included tamed beasts. For now, Ryker would ensure its survival to the best of his ability. There was no excuse for anything less.
“Fight on, little one.” Ryker whispered to himself while he glanced towards the timer on his spell once more. As he did so, he noticed that Eonis had finished with the snake Ryker had attacked. Now he was standing there, why? What made it worse was that the player was looking at him. His expression was weak, as if he had given up. The wolf-like features the man bared reflected his internal emotions, and it made Ryker uneasy. Squeezing his katana, Ryker’s own fox ears folded back. He hated fighting.
“Don’t quit now!” The fox shouted. His knees shook, but he had faced much bigger monsters in the seas he had once fished in! These snakes were small fry compared to mother nature’s most glorious creatures of the deep! Sprinting forward towards where the two snakes were fighting, Ryker imagined himself fighting with a fishing rod in the middle of the ocean. He imagined himself wrestling with a catfish he had baited with his own hand. He didn’t know what he would do, but he was going to do something. Something was better than nothing!
As he ran, Ryker let his sword hang off to his side while holding its handle firmly with both hands, just as he did a fishing pole. Ryker narrowed his eyes on the friendly and enemy snake, sliding himself just off to the left of them. Once he reached the two, he cut with all of his might across the air, cutting the enemy snake on its right side. The impact left a bright red line in its body and its health bar reflected the impact. Immediately after striking it, Ryker took a step back and cast Healing Light on the friendly snake. Just as he cast the spell and its effect began to take place, Ryker moved to his right and rotated to behind the creature as to put the incoming enemy in his view as well. He hated fighting, but he feared dying much more.

Himir's fighting spirit was leaving him by the second, he was trying to get the right words out of his mouth that would inspire himself and his ally but they would not come. "I'm going to get me and my friend killed" repeated in his mind over and over again, looking like it would cause his party to wipe the dejected guardian had seen the cleric's spell heal his companion. This shook Himir from his daze and then he heard the little fox-tail shout "Don't quit now!" and run into the fight that seemed lost just moments before. Feeding of the fervor that was emitted from the cleric, Himir yelled a battle cry at the top of his lungs and stabbed his sword in to the ground and punched himself in the face with great force, causing minor damage to himself. His confidence coming back faster than it left Himir decided to get depressed after his battle and ran in to the battle.
Seeing the battle unfolding before his eyes Himir stopped his charge to stand on Ryker's left side and said with a sincere voice "...Thanks." before running towards the strongest of the three snakes that engaged the small party. Knowing this fight to be a very difficult one, Himir rushed in with his shield raised waiting for the opponent to strike first so he could counter. The snake was much more aggressive than any of the other snakes encountered before as it struck at Himir rapidly and with great force. All Himir could do was hold his shield over his more important vitals each time the snake attacked. All he could do here was bash it with his shield in hopes of holding out for assistance from his companion and party member.

: Equipment : Starter Katana : Skills : Healing Light “Hello there…” Ryker mumbled as the snake he struck turned to look at him, but he didn’t move as the allied snake took advantage of the opening and latched its fangs into the unfriendly beast’s neck, or well… It was a snake so it had no neck… so it latched its fangs into the area beneath the head. Yea, that one, and that one did enough damage to switch the Hate once again. The quick change spared Ryker from doing any frivolous moving about and he remained in place, watching the battle and the timer of his healing spell. Patience and teamwork would keep him alive, and the Snake he had accepted as a friend was assisting him in doing so. As he prepared to move forward again, Ryker’s left ear was bombed by a loud howl.
The noise was enough to fill Ryker’s own “Hate” meter, and the player looked over in time to see his fellow Adventurer punching himself in the face. The sight dumbfounded the Cleric, and as the timer of his skill hit zero, Ryker casually cast it on the Wolf-Hair. Just as quickly as the timer had ended, it reset, and the caster was unsure of what had just happened. He was seriously confused. Why did the guy just punch himself in the face? Was that some way of getting off or something? If it was, Ryker didn’t know of it. He hated pain, getting hurt, or anything which resembled him being in some sort of agony. Maybe that’s why he didn’t understand it. Yet he did not speak out or attempt to put the Adventurer down because, for whatever reason, he was now extremely excited… was he a masochist?
“Focus…” Squeezing the handle of his weapon to get himself back on track, Ryker looked away from his strange, very aggressive partner, and back to the battle in front of him. The lower level snake was taking a beating; it’s health was dropping steadily and its will to fight seemed to be falling with it as its number of attacks began to drop. On the other hand, the higher level snake was gaining momentum and its health was barely in the yellow. Not good.
As his fellow Adventurer appeared to his side, Ryker turned his head a little to look at him from the corner of his eye. At least he had moved and from the sound of his gratitude, he was ready to fight again. That was good. If he wasn’t, Ryker was probably going to die, and that would not have been fun. Yet, there was still a chance of death so he would not allow himself to fall under the spell of supreme invincibility. That was reserved for fools, and Ryker was not a fool... at times. He had his moments, but now was not one of them. I think…
What do you mean, ‘you think’? I don’t trust your judgment yet. Judgment?! You put me here! Shut up and do your job, Cleric.
Ryker sighed hard and closed his eyes for a moment, collecting his thoughts before he finally glared towards the two snakes dueling. Quickly, he cast Healing Light on the friendly creature and then dashed forward, running up behind the distracted foe so he could attack safely without being injured. Holding his sword firmly with both hands, he drove it straight through the Snake’s core, stabbing as much of his blade through its body until his momentum was completely dispersed. A second later, he felt a bite. It hurt, and it was strange. The enemy snake’s head was up in the air… away from him…
Confused, Ryker looked down to his leg and noticed a very, very important mistake. His attack had been successful as he had struck his target. Yet he had not synchronized anything with the friendly snake. Upon driving his sword into one snake, he had moved it forward and essentially replaced it with himself, just when the other snake attacked. Now, he stood with the enemy snake on his sword and the friendly snake in his thigh.
Well done, Genius. “Ow.”

Still taking a great amount of damage from the snake, Himir had started to slowly realize something horrible. He felt his body getting weaker and weaker at each passing second. At first he thought that he would only have to worry about the snakes physical damage, but as time wore on he came too a sudden realization that he was constantly being applied a poison that began to wear him down from the inside where he has no defenses yet. He continued to fight back the best he could but at his level with no skills to use as a defense against the poison he was powerless against this creature in a one vs one fight. Hoping that his ally and companion are doing better he had heard a the sound of something like a death hiss, turning to see how successful the other two were his mind stopped functioning at the higher levels as he could not believe the sight he was seeing,it looked like his snake had betrayed his own trust and attacked Ryker. To keep himself from rampaging on the scouted snake, Himir began chanting "No one will be hurt" over and over again while being attacked by the shield. At this point the snake was only reapplying its poison as a way of toying with Himir.

“Leggo.” Ryker rumbled, bumping the friendly snake on the head with his free hand while pushing his sword forward to deter the unfriendly snake from snapping at him. The light impact made the creature flinch and retreat, freeing the Cleric from the not-so-good of a position, but he wasn’t out of the fire yet. With the friendly snake out of his thigh, Ryker’s attention returned to the snake that he had piledrived. It hissed loudly and was wiggling ferociously, attempting to either get free or rotate enough to bite the Adventuer. Ryker grimaced at the sight.
“You slippery fiend.” The name and taunt came out much flatter than Ryker had expected, almost as if he was entertained by the Snake’s feeble attempts. Although as fun as it was to see the creature flail about, Ryker wasn’t going to torture the thing. It probably would have been smart to let its health steadily decline, yet it was just to disturbing to watch. With that in mind Ryker made a choice; he pulled his sword off the snake and kicked it across the grass a few feet. Instantly upon its release, the friendly snake was on top of it, making Ryker flinch. The larger snake hissed loudly and slithered about but the younger, healthier creature coiled itself around the larger monster. It was a quick sneak attack; and it was working.
Taking the time to recover, Ryker hopped backwards and glanced over to his ally. Getting tied up with his own monster was a foolish mistake as a Support player, but it was a necessary move as his Guardian had fallen short on his own duty. Now Ryker had a little more on his plate than he wanted, but it was manageable. His health was stable, in the green, and increasing it seemed because of the video game’s auto-recovery, putting his mind at ease for the moment. Eonis, on the other hand, was in combat and his health bar was going in the completely opposite direction. What didn’t help was a little marking beside his name; a status effect. Ryker didn’t know what the symbols meant, or what ones were good or bad, but at the rate his ally was losing health it couldn’t have been good. Not one bit. Even so, Ryker didn’t have anything in his lousy excuse for a toolbox to do anything about the effect. So, he simply cast Healing Light on his ally and restarted the countdown in his mind.
Stealing a glance to the friendly snake which was wrestling with the dying unfriendly reptile, Ryker ensured that the situation there was under control. He didn’t feel like getting hit in the back. A well placed strike from behind could be devastating, and Ryker didn’t exactly want to test how much. However today he wouldn’t have to worry, for the moment, so he turned his attention towards his Human Ally and quickly made his way across the grassy floor towards him. As the snake was enthralled with the shiny shield the Guardian was using to defend himself, Ryker zipped around behind the creature and attacked from behind. Three strikes were all Ryker delivered, and they carved a nifty little collection of interlocking lines in the animal’s skin. He would have hit the thing more, but he didn’t want the Hate being pulled off his tank. Instead the Healer backed off and took the moment to heal his ally once more, reversing the steady decline of the man’s health bar. It seemed they would have to fight a war of attrition for now…

Finally able to avoid going into his guard dog state Hmir took a deep breath causing himself to regain some of his mostly lost composure. Poison still ticking away from Himir's health he felt himself getting weaker by the second, but he was still holding because he did not want this dangerous enemy to go to his physically weaker allies. The snake now seemed to slow down it's strikes and now seemed to be striking once every 5 seconds instead of every 2 seconds, this had caused Himir to take more damage from the bites themselves along with the poison. Hoping for the other snake to be finished off soon his wish was answered when a slight *ping* came up telling him that his snake was about to finish off it's enemy and will need a new one soon. "Good, I really need some help soon" thought Himir, sudden;y Himir felt his body getting stronger again as he had seen his health go from the yellow back into the green. In a strong case of deja vu, three strikes were delivered onto the back of the snake and Himir had finally seen the snakes health drop below 70%. Thinking that he may lose aggro if he doesn't react, Himir decided to go to his mental limits and right before the snake had struck he thrust his sword into the open mouth of the snake. It's health taking a great drop into 60%, Himir getting a surge in spirit for the deathly situation turned into a decisive victory.

Just after the Cleric had struck the enemy snake, his Guardian ally reached out from beneath the massive metal in his arms shield and struck the creature right where Ryker had initially sliced. The damage increased further than he had expected but it had done more than that, which Ryker was more thankful for; all of the Hate Ryker had potentially generated vanished after the impact of the Guardian’s sword. That was good. Now he could focus on other things, like being a Cleric for example. That would probably be smart seeing as Eonis, the friendly snake, and even himself were all having health issues at the moment. Some had more problems than others but that was beside the point. Ryker wasn’t a fighter; he was a Healer for godsakes. The damage he did to the creatures was pitiful! Well, at least he was doing something.
A disgruntled noise of sorts escaped Ryker’s lips and he waddled backwards a few extra steps as the countdown for his skill reached zero once more. He eyed his well-armored partner and targeted him with the Game’s strange screen, highlighting the player’s health bar, and then cast Healing Light on him to assist with keeping the man alive. He was infected with poison, and the snake was continuing to inject him with said poison with nearly every bite. Due to this, it didn’t seem like it would matter if Ryker had a de-poison spell or whatever. The instant he used it, the Snake would gladly just bite the Guardian again. It was pointless to attempt to stop such a thing. Ryker needed a buff which would keep the poison from being injected, and even that was out of the question; he was still level one.
“Meh.” The mumble fell out of the annoyed Cleric’s mouth almost second-mindedly as his eyes switched from the Guardian to the Friendly Snake. It was nearly done with its tasty meal of sorts, but the question Ryker had was whether or not it would remain friendly. It had been through quite a bit since the fight started so healing it was a difficult call to make. He still wanted to help it, as it had helped him, but its intentions were unknown to Ryker; he also sucked at gambling.
With that in mind Ryker kept the two Snakes in the corner of his eye. For now he would let it be. There would be no point in rescuing a beast which would quickly whip around just to bite at him again. That would just be stupid! And Ryker may have been foolish, but he wasn’t dumb enough to sign his own death warrant. No sir, he was to genius for that! So, he didn’t heal the friendly snake. Instead, when it was ready again, he healed Eonis once more to keep the player alive. If the Snake was going to turn, than Ryker would rather it be nearly dead than half-way dead. That would make a huge difference, especially since he would have to deal with it himself.

Thanks to the combo that he was able to perform with his cleric ally, the snakes health dropped in too 50%, getting excited from the potential of getting out of this deadly situation alive and in a way to distract himself from his weakening body, Himir said "After we get out of this alive let's go buy a drink, on me!" telling his friend without looking away from the snake. Looking back at the creature with a new sense of urgency, Himir lowered his center of gravity and raised his shield until his torso was completely covered by his shield and he pointed his sword at the creature until he had represented a old spartan. The snake had just raised itself getting ready for another heavy strike that would undoubtedly be the equivalent of getting hit in the gut. "Okay, just like in the movies", Himir whispered to himself; the snake uncurled itself and flung forward in another attempt to bring down to the man in metal, as soon as the guardian saw the fang's of the snake he lowered his head behind his shield and jumped forward extending his shield effectively turning himself in to a baseball; this is the first time during his fight with the beast that he forced it to go on the defensive, in a attempt to avoid the incoming wall the snake attempted to back into a nearby hole next to a tree but that had proved to be a costly mistake for the retreating creature.
Still rushing forward Himir had finally felt a thud in his charge and thinking that he had hit a tree he jumped back immediately getting back into his precious stance ready to react and block from any direction that the snake may strike from, looking around for any signs of his enemy Himir heard a weakened hiss coming from behind his shield. Raising his head above his shield he saw that the snake had taken enough damage from the shield charge and being smashed into a tree that it's health looked to be at about 20%. Thinking that his victory was assured the guardian chuckled, he felt himself chuckle a little too loudly because he felt Ryker looking at himself strangely "I should hold up on the things that I do in excitement, Ryker thinks I'm strange enough as it is" Himir mumbled to himself. While in his fit of joy his entire body continued to throb and the guardian felt his body begin to go numb from the poison that continued to be reapplied. He looked back at his ally in a toothy smile in a way to show that he was going to be alright, he felt his right hand go numb as he began to lose grip on his sword. Trying to keep his smile through the the throbbing and the numbing he tried to grip his sword as tight as he could but to no avail he could not keep a strong grip on his swordhand and his starter blade finally fell from his hand as he could no longer muster the strength to hold it. As his sword fell to the ground Himir's body followed suite as he dropped to one knee as a resistance to stand up; looking at his health bar the guardian had seen that his health was a small bit higher than the snakes but luckily it had begun to stop its gradual decline. Himir had decided that he cannot die and leave his ally like this, so he used his shield to as a crutch and stood up for what felt like the final time in his life, even though he knew he would respawn back at the cathedral it didn't help that his instincts told him he was about to die.

“Drink?” Ryker questioned and looked up at the Guardian as he shouted. The Cleric wiggled his nose and made a slightly pained face. If the man meant alcohol, than a respectful decline would probably be best. Ryker didn’t exactly like alcohol and the only time he had drank anything of the sort was during dinner. Wine made some things a little sweeter as long as he didn’t drink too much of it. Drinking it for fun wasn’t exactly something Ryker did. Now, as a celebration he might have one or two glasses, but he had seen what others meant by “going out for a drink”. He wasn’t that kind of person. But that would be for later. For now they needed to get to that point of survival, and they were close.
Wiggling the weapon in his hand, Ryker slashed at the snake in front of him once more, whacking the thing in its raised and exposed back with a strange cut to say the least. He had swung with all of his might but right before impact Ryker hesitated, making the damage dealt much weaker than it should have been. It made the Cleric grumble a little because of how afraid he still was of the creature. Though just after hitting the creature, Ryker realized his partner was moving. The Guardian shifted his posture and took a slightly more protective stance. The ears on the Fox-tail’s head twitched and he casually cast Healing Light on the man before looking at the snake. Then he looked back at the Guardian. Weren’t… they supposed to be… attacking?
“Uh… EoooNISS!” As the snake shot forward in another attack, the Guardian exploded forward into a flying charge, smashing into the snake while also coming right for him. Ryker’s eyes shot open and he instinctively dove out of the way to his right. As he jumped, Ryker tossed his sword across the ground as to make sure he wouldn’t land on it. However it probably would have hurt less to land on that opposed to the hard ground he smashed into a second later. His health took a slight drop because of the unpracticed faceplant and the Cleric was a little dazed, but he forced himself to get up to his knees and out of the disgusting dirt. The ground was not soft here. Not one bit.
“The hell…” Using the sleeve of his robe, Ryker performed a quick cleaning of his face to keep the natural particles of blindingness out of his eyes. It took him a moment, but when he looked up he reminded himself that a little dirt was better than what would have happened if he stayed still. The snake had been bashed against the tree by the Guardian and was on the verge of death, but it seemed it had done its job as a monster. The Guardian Ryker was with was on the edge of death and Ryker’s healing spell wasn’t doing much to help it, that made Ryker a little disappointed in himself and he could feel his ears quivering. He snarled low in his throat and grabbed his sword off the ground.
With the weapon held tight in his hand the Cleric bolted across the open zone to where his ally was and slipped by the Guardian. The snake hissed loudly as it prepared to strike the armored player once more but in the middle of its strike, Ryker thrust his Katana forward and shoved the weapon through the snake’s head. The large mouth of the Snake snapped shut, its own fangs piercing the tough reptilian flesh and a posion moniker flashed beside its health bar. Ryker didn’t stop there though and drove right through the Snake’s flimsy head until several inches of his sword were buried into the trunk of the tree behind it, impaling the creature against it. The snake flailed about, unable to free itself from the weapon as its health declined steadily. Ryker rumbled a little at the sight and wanted to end its life, yet there would be none of that. The Snake would get a taste of its own medicine.
Turning about his heels, Ryker cast Healing Light once more on Eonis, fighting against the poison further. There had to be a way to get rid of the poison, but how? Was there a fruit he could give the player? Maybe there was something he was missing, something so blatantly obvious and simple that he would obviously miss it.
“Eonis, tap on the poison thing on your screen and see if it gives you any information. See what it says. Check for any sort of heal or something which says how to make the poison go away.” Ryker pulled up his own menu and began to stumble through the thing, attempting to get to the party screen. He kept getting lost though, which wasn’t helping.

"Alright give me a second, I can't really maneuver this menu that well yet." Taking his arm out of his last remaining arm, the guardian struggled to raise his arm that was completely numb to maneuver through the menu but to no avail he could not muster strength in his sword arm to select the weightless button in front of him. regrettably the guardian had to remove his hand from his shield to get a better grip of the menu, with some trouble he was able to go to his status menu and look at the details of his ailment that was causing him to walk closer to death's door. "I found it" Himir informed his support, "It says that poison damage is caused to the target every 4 seconds, it also says that this lasts for 30 seconds until it is reapplied again the duration will be refreshed. I'm guessing that we have to defeat this thing as quickly as possible and hope that my health recovers faster when I'm out of battle." As he was saying this his pet had just finished off its opponent with half of it's health left over, Thinking that he has to finish this quickly or be finished off, Himir directed his companion to charge at the snake that was suffering from it's own poison and attempt to make it bleed out even further. When Himir thought about the irony of the his companion getting more killing blows than it's master a ping came up telling Himir had 1 minute and some seconds until his companions's loyalty would disappear. "And we should do it quickly, I have to send my companion away from us or I risk me being finished off and you fighting that thing by yourself." With his cleric ally in mind he sent his extra damage dealer away from the weakened group to a distance far away and told it to hold it's position until further notice. Looking at the situation he felt that he could not hold for long and he needed to cause as much damage as possible, so he did something he thought he would never do; he decided to pick up his sword and leave his shield on the ground.
Looking at the white fox-tail he said "We need to kill this thing before I fall or I won't be able to sleep that well." limping over to the tree with a snake attached to it, Himir rose his sword and brought it down on the snake as often as he could. He knew that his body was breaking down from the struggle of standing up and operating like he was at 100% so he guessed that he was not doing much damage. The poison still eating away at his health until he was in the red, Himir lost all feeling in his left leg and he fell to 1 knee in a attempt to not give up, he knew that if he was poisoned one more time he may not survive his ordeal. "It's all up to you, Sorry to leave this to you" the numb guardian said with a smile, but he knew the charatceristics of canines and he knew that his tail and ears would be telling people otherwise.

Finally after an annoying few moments of slightly bothered poking and smacking at his menu, Ryker was able to open up the party menu. As he was doing so, he continued to monitor the Guardian’s health. It was still on a steady decline but his spell was keeping it from getting much worse than it already was. However it was just delaying the inevitable. Ryker wasn’t exactly going to be able to save the other player if the effect didn’t wear off soon. With that in mind, Ryker moved his fingers with a bit of urgency. He navigated to the party member list where he could see Eonis’s name and checked the player’s status. Thankfully, Ryker could actually read what the effect was. As expected, it wasn’t a good effect. At the same time Eonis spoke the effect, Ryker was reading it but the Cleric in him did a little more dissecting of the effect.
Currently, the effect was at twenty seconds in his countdown. The effect lasted for thirty seconds and caused poison damage every four. The poison damage was mediocre at best but due to Eonis’s level, it was dealing enough damage to potentially be fatal. He probably would be dead if Ryker wasn’t still casting a healing spell on him. The fact that the snake was stuck to the tree and incapacitated was also helpful. So, due to the poison not being reapplied, Ryker had to stave off Eonis’s death for twenty seconds. Then he could leave the recovery process to the game itself. Fantastic. Knowledge of a situation was something that had kept Ryker alive and now that he knew what he was dealing with, he had a better bet of saving his ally as well.
Closing his menu, Ryker watched as Eonis dispatched the friendly snake to a distant location, as its duty had been finished. There was only one enemy left and it was now stuck to a tree so there was no need for its assistance. At least it hadn’t been killed and Ryker was thankful for that. However, that meant Ryker was stuck with the dirty job. Eonis was unable to perform any sort of combat abilities in his current state but that was understandable. Ryker had no qualms with the Guardian because of the pain he was in and would have preferred to send him back to London if possible, but it seemed he was determined to see things through. That was something Ryker could respect.
Yet, what he did find stupid about the Guardian was his will to fight. Even though he was poisoned and on the verge of death, the man was foolish enough to stand and approached the snake with his sword in hand. Ryker rumbled a little and would have smacked the man upside the head if he had a stick long enough to reach. It was too bad that he didn’t. The Cleric didn’t have to do that though, as the Guardian ended up collapsing to a knee after just a few swings at the snake. Ryker sighed and walked up beside the Guardian as the man knelt down.
“I’m going to borrow this.” Rather than pull his own sword out of the tree and release the beast, Ryker carefully took the sword from the Guardian’s hand and held it firmly. It was heavy and, for the shorter player, required to hands to hold. The Cleric grunted a little as he held it up and swung the edge of the weapon at the snake, cutting it open in multiple places as to ensure a rapid decline of its health. The poison effect which was nipping away helped and actually saved Ryker a lot of time. After only a few swings, the thing actually shattered apart, leaving only Ryker’s sword in the tree as a reminder of where it was.
“Welp, there goes that.” Ryker rumbled as he stabbed the Guardian’s sword into the ground for a moment. The Cleric then retrieved his own sword and sheathed it. Then, he carried the Guardian’s back to its rightful owners. As he approached the man again, Ryker cast another healing spell on the player to continue his blockading of the poison effect. The man’s health was now in the red, and that bothered Ryker more than being attacked by three snakes did.
“Do you have any potions you could use? Probably a stupid question, as you would’ve used them already…” A light chuckled escaped Ryker’s lips as he stabbed the Guardian’s sword into the ground beside the other player just in case he wanted to use it to stand. “I personally don’t have any or I’d be stuffing it down your throat right now.”

"I don't have any potions but with that wretched thing gone I hope me natural healing outside of battle should be able to help stave of death along with your healing" Eonis had forced himself to say. Looking at his health he saw that he was still in the red but thanks to the party having no hostiles target within their rage he should be able to live through this ordeal. Thinking about when he was assaulted with his throbbing he figured whenever he took poison damage his body throbbed in response to him getting close to death, "I have about four more ticks of damage left until I hit 0, if i can survive the first two ticks I should be fine." the guardian had informed his cleric ally as a way of telling him not have the worried look on his face.
Waiting on the next 4 seconds seemed like torture as Eonis was waiting for the throb of his body that would tell him that he took poison damage. As the time came for the guardian to take damage he knew what would follow as he was aware that his health was in the red and getting closer to his "death". Thinking back into the fight he thought about how he could have avoided this, "I should checked the area for any more enemies, sorry" Eonis looked at his ally with drooping ears apologetically. As he was about to continue his apology the fourth second came once again as he took poison damage, thankfully along with the second tick of poison damage he blacked out for a bit but a warm feeling brought him back to life as if someone poured warm water on his back and the water spread all around him causing him to open his eyes just in time to see Ryker finish his healing spell on himself.
Considering how long he had left he informed the cleric "I have about two more ticks of damage and this stupid effect will be gone, without you I would not have survived this fight to even half of what it was." Eonis told Ryker in a complimenting manor. Waiting for the last ticks of damage seemed to be lasting forever, finally as the time for the next third application of his poison to attack him he felt his body throb a bit stronger than before. This last second made him freeze up completely as he felt the poison seemed to want to put him through as much suffering as possible. "I'm going to black out for a bit I think this poison is going to knock me unconscious for a bit, maybe if my health gets backup to a certain point I may wake..." as he was speaking the final attack of poison struck Eonis and he felt like his head would explode and his eyelids suddenly felt like weights and black splotches began to appear over his vision as he tried to stay consciousness but to no avail as he felt his body could no longer fight the temptation to force him to black out.
