The members already knew each other, more or less, though their relationships were still being developed. Shiranui and a few others have decided to be a treasure hunting guild. Fame, fortune, adventure, it was quite the plot befitting a medieval-fantasy roleplaying game, which Elder Tale was. Through lengthy conversations and brainstorming, casually clogging the guild chat’s backlog, they’ve decided upon the name “Avarice.” Fancy, rolls of the tongue; I like it! Their next order of business was the guild’s insignia. The crew had gone through a lot of designs thought up by the members until they’ve finally settled on one: A sleek wyvern, curved so that it appears circular. The guild artisan colored it black and neon-green; cool and mystical-looking.

With all this cheap fabric he has, he couldn’t imagine himself making anything that fancy, nor will he make something the least bit durable. He was told that they were going to leave these things in dungeons and ruins they’ve finished pillaging. Perhaps there was a way he could reinforce the banner without sacrificing the aspect of style. I could simply layer fabric upon fabric to an appropriate thickness, thought the tailor. He’d stared at the design on the piece of paper given to him. If only he had actually dragged Adler to at least draw an outline on the cloth. I guess I’ll have to make do, though I’m not sure if I’m much of an artist. Oh, but I know someone else who is, and is not Adler! He didn’t want to call on the Ritual; she was in the guild. No, it was going to be a surprise, considering that he’s been missing for a few days. More than a few days… almost a few weeks now, actually…

His tools were already spread out on the table, and so were the materials. He began with the main cloth for the banner. He thought of making the background be dark so that it brings out the glowing green outline of the design. With the measuring tape, he determined the appropriate dimensions for it. Once that was done, he summoned the “friends list” menu and called his old guild attendant, Mira. He braced himself as best as he could for the hyperactive goof’s arrival, knowing all too well how unpredictable the next series of events could turn into.

“Good-” said Shira, before the ever-so-upbeat voice exploded in his head.

“KIIIII-CHAN~! IT’S BEEN AGES!” said Mira. Shira flinched at the sound of his guild attendant’s high-pitched cry. He sometimes hated telepathic calls; they didn’t seem to have volume controls anywhere, and the voices felt like they were in his head, so it felt a little disturbing.

“*ahem* Good morning, Mira-senpai. How are you today?” continued the Fox in his usual accommodating tone of voice.

“Oh, Ki-chan~ As courteous and polite as ever~ Pretty swell, I say. I just made the best parfait in the whole Londinium! You really must try it, now! Get over here!”

Shira felt like some sort of blade-tipped chain hit him through the chest. Making any sudden or rash movement will disturb the chain, signalling the capture of fresh meat. This is bad… Mira-senpai’s cooking was the worst in the real world. She’s going to be bringing me some if I tell her to come here, thought Shira. But she’s the only artisan I know, and I need this overdue project done! A bead of sweat trickled from his forehead. She’s gonna make her own flavors, I guarantee it! And wasn’t she supposed to be an Artisan?
