The plan was simple. To go out and hunt some monsters, to gain experience fighting and with any luck people would show up to help out. Mab had placed a notice up on the bulletin board earlier stating that on this day there would be someone training on this location, and anyone who wanted to join would be perfectly welcome to join in. Pkers need not bother because Mab would use call of home at the first signs of hostility, so basically if an adventurer would try to hurt her their trip would be a waste of time. Mab would not stick around the sicko’s that liked hurting people for just the fun of it. Mab wanted to try to improve her skills by fighting monsters, not other players. “Hello, I will be training in the savil forerst at location x today. Anyone who wants to join is more than welcome. The monster hunting exercise will start at ten in the morning. I hope to see you there.” The note was signed with just her name. It was simple enough. Mab was about thirty minutes early so no one would be there right now. The day was a typical British day, overcast, and on the verge of raining. It mattered not to the druid, rain or sunshine she would have her training day today. Because the girl was early it gave her some time to think about what she wanted to do if anyone did show up. Mab was not sure to what expect. She had seen notices like this before, and had rarely ever responded to them. But was sure that there were people that did. Mab checked her gear one last time, just to make sure she had brought it all. Food check, drinks check, armor check, weapon in order. Great all she needed to survive today was with her. Mab liked to travel lightly. Carrying too much crap just got in the way, that is why she kept most of her belongings safe in the bank. To prepare herself Mab wanted to summon her wolf pup. Once summoned it would stick around her and give her an extra set of eyes. The costs for summoning where worth it, and if she did so now, she would have some time so her MP could recharge before setting out. So decided Mab summoned the cute wolf puppy that was her protector and guide. Mab ungraciously flopped down on the ground and played with the pup. Mab felt a little guilty as she still had not figured out a name for the cute and cuddly puppy. Mab just did not want a name that was meaningless, or stupid. Besides Mab knew she was not the best person to give creatures names. Usually the names she did give where totally uninspired. Mab disliked that part of herself, so she gave herself some more time to think about it. Maybe, just maybe she could ask people for advice. Petting the pup in front of her Mab allowed her toggled pathfinder skill to stay aware of her surroundings. She called it her spidey sense. If creatures would come too close Mab would notice. This made her feel rather safe indeed. And allowed her to play with the puppy without having to deal with further distractions. The game of roughhousing ended up in a game of playing fetch. No it was not the pup who threw the stick watching Mab running after it like an idiot. No it was not. It was Mab who found a decent sized stick to throw around and the puppies tail whisked with delight. Loving this game of fetch. As Mab threw the stick it would not fly away very far at all. But far enough for the pup to run after it and even be able to snatch it from the sky before it even landed on the floor. Looking very proud the wolf pup came walking back to Mab. But every time the girl wanted to take the piece of wood from the wolf it would take a step backward. Just avoiding the girl. Wolf pup’s eyes sparkled with an intelligent sense of humor, the wolf had decided to keep what she just caught, and was not gonna give it back to her summoner, it became another game. Wolf pup was very much amused. Mab seemed troubled by the fact the pup kept evading her attempts of getting the stick back. “Oooh now you are asking for it!”Mab called out to the pup as she charged forward lunging herself towards the beast and the stick it was holding. It ended with Mab face planting herself just a few inches short of her summon. The summon decided to declare victory by placing its two front paws on Mab's defenceless back.

Unlike an uncertain, indecisive player, Draze had already been acquainted with his animal companion. While Mab had a playful pup at her beck and call, Draze was burdened with a skittish horse he had dubbed Eustace, on account of it being an entirely useless beast. Said useless beast was currently burdened by Draze, along with his hefty armor and equally sizable weapons, as well as a small amount of supplies, mostly food and water. The two had left Londinium earlier in the day after seeing a sign posted by one "Mab", who claimed to be looking for new players to accompany her on "hunting exercises."
This was a fortunate turn of events indeed. Draze was incredibly inexperienced at the game, a fact reflected by his beginner gear and low level. While he had wished to do a little crafting first, he knew that money and experience was the primary goal of all MMO's, and had resolved to take the fight to the critters that roamed the countryside of Londinium. Of course, he had attempted to do so before, having rode Esutace (then unnamed) into battle against a seemingly innocuous boar. When the beast had fought back, his horse had bucked, disappearing off behind a tree without a backwards glance. Draze had fallen flat on his back, losing a great chunk of his health at the same time, before the boar charged again, sending him to the Cathedral.
"Ugh... I'm eating nothing but pork for a week." Draze groaned as he recalled the pain of the small tusks goring him through one of the many gaps in his "Plate" Armor. Eustace whinnied, as if in sympathy, but Draze knew better. The stupid creature was probably just hungry, even though Draze had called it a mere half an hour ago. He supposed he should feed it sometime soon...
He and his horse cleared a small rise, peering through some low-hanging foliage at the assigned clearing for the meeting. Sure enough, someone was there, a tall, blonde girl who seemed preoccupied with a bundle of fur that barked and yapped at her feet. As he watched, trotting down the slope, she face-planted before what he quickly realized was a puppy. By the time she was face up again, he and his horse were standing besides her, and he reached down with a metal-gloved hand to help her to her feet.
"The name is Draze Borion, Ma'am. Pleasure to meet you. I assume you're Mab?" Draze said, grinning through coarse lips. His character was markedly more ugly than others, a fact that didn't seem to bother him. Eustace skittered nervously, sidestepping once as he noticed the small pup by his feet. Truly, this beast was one of the most useless horses in all of Elder Tale.

Klide was napping on a branch that overhung a beautiful lake. He awoke to the crimson evening light as the sun set over mountains off in the distance. He watched the calm water with calm mist flowing over it, and the small herd of deer drinking from the shore. He was glad that he hadn't been awakened by a troll on a midnight trek. Klide jumped down from his branch and narrowly avoided falling into the lake. Luckily, his feet sank deep enough into the soft soil, that he was able to hold his footing and keep his balance. Klide walked away from the serene scene, and made his way toward town. On his way, he saw a few boars here and there, as well as some deer and occasionally a rabbit, but he was too relaxed to want to hunt anything. Klide entered town and walked toward the inn in which he was staying for the time being. Although he had no possessions to worry about, aside from the supplies he had with him at the time, Klide wanted to sleep in an inn every so often, even if the only benefit was a bed to call his own. Klide walked past the bulletin board and glanced at it carelessly. He saw four words in one of the messages that stood out. "Training, Anyone, Welcome, Hunting" were the words, and Klide decided to look into the message more thoroughly. Klide walked into his room with a yawn, and collapsed into his bed without bothering to strip his armor from his back.
When he awoke the next morning, Klide took his gear, and left the inn without a word. He walked through town toward the destination, and soon realized that he would be early to the meeting point. He walked through the forest and found a clearing that had only a pond in the middle. "Obviously not the right spot." Klide thought to himself. He walked further and eventually found another clearing that was a bit more promising. There was a small pup playing with a young girl who could only be Mab. Klide recognized he instantly from his last adventure with her. He watched for a moment, as she played with the pup, and then she shouted "Oooh now you are asking for it!” At first, Klide thought she had been yelling at him for watching them play from the shadows, but that wasn't it. She jumped at her pup and face planted in front of it. Klide was about to go and help her up, when a new face appeared. A large man on a horse came strutting into the clearing with a smile on his face. The man on the horse introduced himself rather casually by saying "The name is Draze Borion, Ma'am. Pleasure to meet you. I assume you're Mab?" Klide chose then to walk into the clearing and offer a square of cloth to Mab so that she could wipe her face. He then looked up at Draze, and uttered only three words "I am Klide."

Mab looked up, removing her face from the dirt because she heard a voice, there was someone speaking to her. “Whoah, did the horse just speak?” Mab wondered aloud. From her vantage point she could not see the horse’s rider. She could only see the very large beast. The druid decided it would probably be best if she at least moved herself to a sitting position. The hat she was wearing had fallen off, well that made sense she had just face planted herself; so her hat had rolled to the side. Picking the black top hat up the girl straightened the bunny ears that sat firmly to the side and lovingly planted the hat back on her head. “Yeah I am Mab. Nice to meet you Draze.... You mind if I call you Draze?”The druid said to the horse, but now realizing there was a rather short fellow riding the particularly large pony. Again with the “Ma’am(ing)....” what did people think, that she was a general? Or a elderly lady or something? It irked Mab to be called ma’am. Mab could not say why, but it did. With a frown on her face ill hiding her irked state she looked up at the horse and rider. “How did you get up there?”Mab asked still somewhat confused at the sudden entry of the horse and rider. Accepting the piece of cloth Klide gave her Mab examined it first. One could not be too careful. Who knew where that piece of cloth had been, or what it had been used for.... Deciding it had no weird stains or dirt on it Mab used it to clean her face while Klide and Draze had their staring contest. Mab had met Klide before and remembered that this was a very ackward kid. He just never seemed to say much at all. His introduction confirmed that. “Hiya Klide...”Mab said after she had unceremoniously had blown her nose in the cloth. Folded it and tried to hand back the now well dirtied tissue. Not really thinking about it Mab did not realize that the swashbuckler probably would not want it back right now... As it was rather unsanitary. Mab did not really think about it at all. “Sooow...”Mab started saying, unsure if the boys where done with their staring contest. “Training... Tell me Draze, what are wanting to train today?”Focussing her attention to Draze because Mab remembered that Klide really did not like to say too much at once. Though had some useful imput when it mattered. He would speak up if he felt like it. Mab trusted him to do so. Draze was someone Mab had not met before, so she needed to find out what he was like. Also what he wanted to train today. It would make a difference, if he said for instance he wanted to tackle a field boss, she would call him insane and leave it at that. Looking at the figure on the horse Mab did not think the ugly feller would say something that ridiculous. Mab did not really care about peoples appearances, but in this case she was rather amused. Most people in the game looked like pretty princesses, or dashing princes. This guy had made to look himself this way on purpose. Mab was sure there was a story behind it. OOC: Tobin will join us when he is good and ready to do so, in the mean time we will just rp on. As he requested.

Word Count: 274 Draze chuckled, waving a gauntlet-clad hand at Mab before dismounting. "Draze is absolutely fine!" He grinned, landing with a jingle on the grassy ground. He made eye contact with Kilde, the newcomer, as the man introduced himself in what was quite possibly the most blunt method possible. Draze grimaced, eyes furrowing as he looked Kilde up an down. He had to do a lot of looking up more than down, as he was a good deal shorter than both Mab and Kilde. Hell, even Eustace looked down at him (literally, not figuratively. Eustace was so useless it was impossible for him to really look down on someone.)
While normally he would have laughed at someone who designed such a cliche character, Draze was far too preoccupied with the idea of training. Turning back to Mab, he gave a quick grin again, before looking thoughtfully at his weapons. A dented lance and an equally ill-kept shield were all he had, along with Eustace, to flail with when an enemy came near. Up until this point, he hadn't even beaten a single monster.
"I need to replace my gear as quickly as possible. Heck, the description of this stuff even recommends it. Since I'm not a Blacksmith, I need to beat the funds out of some poor critters to afford a new set of gear. With that said... er... I'm sort of new at this?" He hoped Mab, who was obviously a much higher level, would understand. While he didn't want to come across as a complete beginner (which he was), he knew that he needed all the help he could get. Humility was key here.

As Klide stood in between Mab and Draze, he realized the man was relatively short compared to Klide. The horse seemed to give Draze most of his height, as even it looked down at him. Klide stood there for a moment before he looked back at Mab and said "Good Morning, Mab". He looked down at Mab's extended hand and accepted the dirtied cloth, he would simply have to wash it later. Then he looked back at Draze. There was something about him that Klide didn't like, though he couldn't put his finger on it. Draze seemed to be very focused on the task at hand. He said that he needed to replace his gear, and his only method of doing so was to kill beasts in order to buy better equipment. Klide was more focused on getting better at combat, with his limited combat experience, this would be a good chance to gain some more. He could also get a bit more money to buy materials and such. Klide was ready to follow Mab's command again and wanted to get this quest started. No introductions were necessary as those had already occurred, as half-assed as they were. He looked around to make sure no one else was joining the group. Then he looked over at Mab and asked where specifically they were going, and asked what her goal with this quest was. He listened to the songs of birds in the distance, and relaxed while waiting for a reply. Word Count: 250 Tags: Draze , Mab

The first impression Mab got from Draze was that he had a good head on his shoulders and did not overestimate his own abilities. This was good because most starting adventurers had that issue, and ended up dying finding out that mobs even low level ones were more than they could chew off. He was Cleary looking not to die. Mab liked that in her travel companions. Klide well he was still a bit of an enigma. Mab knew a local hunting area nearby with only first level monsters. Not to crouded and almost never got to a mob. This was good because it would give the beginning adventurer time to get used to their skills and would allow them to gain experience slowly. Rushing into things was always a bad call... Mab found that out the hard way. “Lets go!”Mab said. Not wasting time idling here. There was adventure to be had, and well Mab too could use the training. Though she would probably try to find an opponent that would test her skills. Not interfere with the training of the others. The level difference was too great for her to interfere in their battles. That did not mean she wouldn’t help with healing if absolutely needed. “Klide you want to take the lead?”Mab would explain to klide the direction they were headed. It would not take very long as the training area was really close, within ten minutes they would have reached their destination. Mab told them a little of what they could expect. “The area spawns young pitted boars. There are usually no more than two at once there at the same time. We need to wander about to have them re-spawn.”Mab explained while walking in the middle. Draze either riding his horse, or taking it along by hand would be best suited for the back. As the horse could be bait if up front, and if he was charging with the creature well he could do that from the back anyway. “What is the name of your horse?”Mab asked Draze. Mab was well known for two things, her colourful dress code and her curiosity. Mab would ask questions to anyone unless she knew they preferred to be left in piece. Mab accepted though grudgingly peoples private space, and the one thing Mab never seemed to ask about where people’s lives before they got stuck in the Elder Tale world. The wolf pup was trudging next to Mab. Using her sense of smell and her eyes to look out for unknown dangers. Mab herself had toggled her path finder skill to be more aware of her surroundings. It gave her extra room to find hostiles in the area, and avoid needless surprises. Mab had walked into many unpleasant surprises before she understood the nature of this skill. “And how are you today?”Mab asked the horse using her tongue of nature skill to converse with the horse. Mab used this skill because she wanted the horse to understand her. OOC: enemies will be: 2 level 1 pitted boars to begin with.... Young Pittered Boar Level 1-5 Type: Beast Rank: Normal Nature: Docile Found in: Fields and Forests Weakness/Resistances: None Skills: None Description: Due to the fields luscious grasses, boars of all ages emerge to eat their fill throughout the day. Word Count: 477 Why exactly Klide was the lead made little sense, but Draze wasn't going to argue. Perhaps he knew the way even better than Mab? Did the Swashbuckler have some skills that required open space? Draze didn't know, and to be honest, didn't particularly care. He had his own cares to worry about, his skills that needed to be mastered. If he could, he might take some time to observe Klide, and more importantly, Mab. Watching others, especially those of a higher level, would prove invaluable for learning combat skills. Not that that really mattered. He just wanted to buy some fancy new armor, and he grinned for a moment as the thought of the armor he would one day wear came to mind.
Popping out of his reverie, he noticed that Mab seemed pretty intent on explaining something. He caught the last few words, something about boars and spawns. He supposed that was what they would be fighting, though who knew what a 'spawn' was?
Mab had wondered over to his side. Draze was not currently riding, nor accompanying his horse. Thought it had gained many realistic facets, such as a personality and an appetite, it still had some game factors. If Draze ever left his horse alone for more than a few moments, it quickly cantered off into some spot it couldn't be seen. As soon as it was out of view, it disappeared. Draze had a whistle around his neck, which every Cavalier had, that could summon their companion. As Mab's question, he blew a short note on said whistle, and from behind a small bush trotted out Eustace.
"Eustace is his name, and being a horse is his game, I suppose." Draze explained, handing the reigns to Mab, who seemed pretty interested in all sorts of animals. She had a small wolf pup with her, so it figured she was some sort of animal tamer of sorts. While this thought was crossing his mind, she began happily making a series of neighing and snorting noises in a decent approximation of a horse. With Draze watching silently, the two seemed to have a conversation with each other.
"And how are you today?" "OOOhhhh BOy" Eustace whinnied, stamping once as he realized that Mab was talking to him. "YOu WOULDN't BELIEVe WHAt I HAVe To Go THROUGh WITh THIs SCARy GUy. I'm So SCAREd ALl THe TIMe. EVERYTHINg Is So BRIGHt ANd WIERd!" He punctuated this statement by jumping back from a falling leaf, letting out a loud bray of fear as the green missile brushed his nose.
Draze, who could not understand horse, but could see his mount was upset, made to take the reigns from Mab in case something bad happened. They had arrived at the area anyway, and in the distance could be seen a pair of young boars, snuffling the dirt absently.

Klide accepted the role of vanguard without questioning Mab's decision. He walked at the front as Mab conversed with Draze and then the horse Eustace. He was not that interested in the conversation, mostly because he couldn't understand horse. He walked further and further, and soon saw the aforementioned boar hunting spot. He was expecting there to be many boars grazing, but there were only a few. There were two low level boars very close to Klide, but he expected that this fight would not be an easy one, given his lack of experience and low level. He jumped up onto a low hanging branch of a near by tree that he felt would serve his purpose, and climbed the rest. Then he drew his swords and prepared to strike. He jumped down upon one of the boars and impaled the swords in its back. Unfortunately, only one of the swords punctured it's back, the other cut its side and stabbed into the ground. Klide jumped back, pulling both his swords out of their respective penetration points. He then proceeded to jump to avoid the boar as it charged at him, fortunately, it was easy to avoid, as he had grazed its leg and effectively slowed it down a bit. Klide swung his swords in a cross slash and managed to, once again, only graze the boars hide. At this rate, the boar would live much longer than he wanted it to. Klide angled his blades for another strike and charged the boar. Word Count: 253 Tags: Mab , Draze

Mab looked at Draze and asked, “Hey can I give him an apple?”Mab never fed anyone’s animals without their permission. That was a common curtsy. She did not want any creature to fall ill because she was careless and gave it something it was not supposed to have. Mab just listened As the horse told of his complaints Mab plucked an apple from her backpack. Patted Eustaces nose and asked Draze first. If the guardian approved Mab would grab an apple from her backpack and offer it to the horse. Mab kept her palm open leaving the apple in sight of the horse. Mab was letting the horse decide how much to eat in one go. “ How does that taste?” Mab asked the horse, hoping its mood would improve slightly. Mab knew very little about horses. They made bumpy rides and foul tasting steak. That was her complete knowledge about horses. Mab did not feel the urge to share this knowledge. She would feel silly saying so and so she decided to keep this particular opinion to herself. “I hope you do your rider proud today!”Mab said encouraging the horse to be brave. Patting its flank to make it feel more relaxed she quickly kissed the horse on its nose. “There’s a good boy...”Without looking back Mab spoke up, warning Draze; “Draze... you best start saddling up if you want to ride Eustace into battle.”Mab said sensing the boars further down. Mab turned around and watched as Klide sprinted forward to engage the boars. Klide sure was enthusiastic when it came to engaging the enemies, Mab hoped the swashbuckler made sure to check if there weren’t any more boars hiding elsewhere. There weren’t at this time, but it was always good to check before rushing into a fight. Mab wanted to know how these two would deal with this situation, would they work together, or would it be each on their own? Mab held back to ensure the boars would not aggro because of her presence. She readied herself. If healing was needed she would take care of it. Initially though the two starters would have to fight using their owns skills, that is how they would learn the quickest. Mab was not going to spoil them by making it easy. Wolf pup would stay by her side and was also sternly ordered not to go play with the boars. However if it wanted to do some scouting and maybe lure some more prey this side she was welcome to do so. With a happy grin the wolf pup took off and started scouting, off course during the first few moments the wolf would find nothing. But due to her superior nose she would be on the trail of something interesting soon. If this would prove to challenging for the adventurers the wolf did not know. For now it was happily following a trail. It had a similar scent to the walking pieces of bacon they were fighting now.

Draze wasn't exactly fond of his horse, as could be obviously seen, but he didn't hate the poor thing. He nodded at Mab, signalling that she could indeed give the dumb beast an apple. Not like he deserved it or anything.
Eustace, on his part, was ecstatic. "Oh BOy!!!" He whinnied, stomping his way over to Mab. "A REAl APPLe! It LOOKs DELICIOUs!" With that said, he tore into the fruit, great big stupid horsey teeth gnashing away at the red orb as slobber dripped everywhere. He was clearly enjoying himself, making happy little snorts every now and then as the apple went down his gullet.
At Mabs insistence, Draze made to get on his horse in preparation for combat. Of course, having finished his tasty treat, Eustace was back to his skittish old self, and it was a good 3 minutes before Draze was saddled and wielding his weapons, a poorly made Halberd along with a large Great Shield. He wielded both despite their size and weight, his entire body focused on keeping them upright and mobile. It was a good thing he didn't need to run anywhere!
The pair of man and beast faced down their foe. While astride Eustace, Draze had an almost complete control of his steed. It was a facet of the game that allowed beginners to sidestep the difficulty of learning to ride a potentially unruly animal, avoiding unnecessary injury and time wasting. Now that he was ready for combat, he paused. Draze was having a very short flashback to his first fight, and hoped that there wouldn't be a repeat of being gored by a tiny boar.
With a neigh of fear and a shout of what might be apprehension but could easily be mistaken for courage, Draze and Eustace charged forward, bearing down on the second of the pair of boars. His shield was nearly useless in this scenario, so Draze focused on his Halberd, swinging it back, then forward as he charged past the unsuspecting target. His aim was way off, barely nicking the poor critter, but it was enough. The boar let out a squeal of rage as it turned and charged the fleeing horse and rider, but its stubby legs couldn't keep up with Eustace's stride. Draze and his horse had plenty of time to turn about before relaunching their attack, once again swinging his Halberd in a downward strike. This time, the head on rush of both participants payed off, and the Halberd bit deep into the boars shoulder.
A bit too deep it seemed, as Draze was wrenched off his mount when the Halberd refused to come loose. Eustace, freed from his masters will, promptly galloped off to disappear behind a tree. Shakily, Draze tried his best to get to his feet, his movements slowed by the jerking of his Halberd-holding hand and his heavy gear. His shield had been dropped in the fall, unequipped as soon as he was dismounted. The boar, still attached to the Halberd, was furiously backpedaling with many a pained cry as it tried to work the large axe-head out of its body. This was not helping Draze at all, who was being dragged by the pig even as he clambered to his feet.

As Klide was in the middle of his combat with the boar, Draze appeared on his horse and attacked the other boar. Klide couldn't see Draze clearly as he was focused on his own opponent, but it looked like he was in trouble, getting dragged around by the boar. Klide needed to finish his fight quickly if he was to help Draze. He was not one to abandon a party member in need, regardless of his feelings towards them. He had both his swords held at his right side, with his left arm across his chest. He charged at the boar, but failed to measure the distance properly, the boar jumped and embedded it's tusks in his gut. He managed to get up quickly enough, and the wound didn't seem that bad. The boar ran in a wide arc and charged again. One again, Klide held his swords at his right side. he ran at the boar. Klide ducked low as the boar counter charged him. The two were nearing each other at an immense speed, and just before impact, Klide side-stepped and swung his swords at the boar's legs. In the process, the boar's small tusk cut his ankle. However, he successfully lobbed it's front leg off, and grazing the back one. The boar collapsed to the ground. It wouldn't be getting up any time soon. Giving Klide the opportunity to run over to Draze as he attempted to get up. Klide's wounds were deeper than he'd previously thought, and they slowed him down. He waited for an opportunity to present itself, and it did just that. The boar was gradually loosing heath from the blade in its shoulder, and as it passed Klide, He jumped at it with his blades out stretched. He managed to chop at the flesh that held the ax in the boar's side. Thus the ax, along with Draze, were disconnected from the boar. Klide left the rest to Draze, feeling that Draze could handle a boar now the he wasn't being dragged by it. Klide walked back to the boar he'd been fighting, holding one arm to his now bloody gut. He had sheathed one of his swords, and thrust the other into the boars skull, and killing it with that strike. After that, he sat for a moment, letting the pain settle in his gut and in his ankle. He then asked Mab if she would do him a favor and heal his wounds. Word Count: 412 Tags: Draze , Mab

So when Mab thought she would not have to interfere because these two would probably not rush in blindly the druid might have been optimistic. So at nearing the end of their battle both adventurers found themselves in somewhat of a pickle. One was being dragged around by a boar, while his horse had found a tree to cower behind, and the other had managed to finish his target but overreached slightly and ended up with more wounds then he could chew up. It seemed Klide had saved Mab from interfering with the fight as he slew the first boar and wounded the second.. That was alright as it saved Draze from dying probably. Mab choose to support Draze by trusting the guardian would finish the boar off. Klide should learn to trust his party members more. Mab noted. As now both swashbuckler and guardian were pretty hard up the druid selected her Earthbeat healing. This was a healing type that would heal both party members. Eartbeat healing was a healing over time spell, so neither of them would be instantly healed, but since they were first level, their health bars should be full in under a few moments. There was no need to heal up more because there were no new enemies in sight at this instance. Both characters were glowing with gentle green light around them Klide had needlessly caused his wounds to worsen by his attack. Mab wanted to say so to klide. But as she did, the wolfpup, ran past both boys and had behind her, 2 more boars in its wake. The boars were much slower, the wolf pup easily beat them to his destination. “Boys, round two is coming up.... you ready?”Mab asked, not really sounding worried, more believing that they would be up for the task. “If you are not.... Let me know... Then I will deal with them.”Mab added looking at the two starting adventurers. If they needed to catch their breaths, or had any difficulty dealing with the beasts Mab would make sure the boars would aggro on her instead. Not that she liked that, but with her skills she would be more then able to deal with these creatures. They were still low level monsters, perfect for practice. Well perfect for both Draze and Klide. Mab would not really get much experience fighting these two boars. Not that it mattered, she would deal with it as needed. Checking once more their status, and wanting to be sure their health bar was fully charged, Mab used a Cure Bloom on Klide. As his healt bar had not been completely restored yet by the earthbeat healing. Having Klide being surrounded by pink fluffy mist was an added bonus. It looked very pretty around him. That alone made this trip worthwhile. Draze had better not be laughing at the kid who just saved his life, mab hoped. It was better if they worked together a little more perhaps. It took them both together to get one boar down in one go. Instead of dealing with two boar attacks they would have to deal with only one of them. Mab felt sure they would figure this out eventually.

Word Count: 581 Draze was grateful of the speed that characters unburdened by heavy armor could achieve when Kilde charged to his aid. The swashbucklers higher damage allowed him to all but finish off the wounded boar, graciously allowing Draze to score the final blow with a single overhead chop, decapitating the boar moments before it dissipated into a cloud of sparks and bubbles.
"Thanks!" Gasped Draze, his gruff voice breaking the moment of silence after battle. "I needed that!"
Draze was standing by now, turning about as he searched for Eustace. After a moment, he realized the beast was gone, sighing heavily. The whistle that hung around his neck could be used to call his horse, but Draze knew Eustace wouldn't answer for some time. For now, he was back in infantry mode, his dual-wield ability lost.
The guardian jumped slightly as Mab called out her healing spell, watching with wide eyes as the green light suffused everyone present. His health was fairly high already, having only suffered when he fell off his horse, and after a moment the powerful magic had restored him to full. He felt invigorated, and wondered if Mab had any sort of beneficial abilities besides healing up her sleeves. He wouldn't mind some extra power...
Kilde, who was far more wounded, required special attention. The jade suffusion of the Earthbeat Healing had done wonders for him, closing all but the largest wounds. Draze wondered if said injuries would affect Klide's fighting, and he was just about to say something before a sudden pink shock overwhelmed the Swashbuckler. When it had faded a moment later, he was back to full health once more.
"Amazing!" Draze applauded, clapping three times for Mab. "Nothing like a good healer to brighten ones day!"
Just as he turned to thank Mab again, her pet pup zoomed past, and a loud oinking could be heard as another two boars rounded a tree, obviously chasing the little wolf. With a grin, Draze leveled his Halberd, pointing the sharp end at the oncoming enemies. "My turn!" He roared, already taking his slow, long strides to meet the enemy head on. As a Guardian, he had to be on the front lines, and this was an idea Draze clearly supported.
Now, the boars displayed some interesting behaviour here. Having aggro-ed on the pup, they were oblivious to Draze even as he passed between them. Having not done any damage so far, Draze was effectively invisible to them. This was a perfect opportunity for Draze to try his one and only ability. As the small pigs trotted past, Draze's measly armor glowed a faint green for a moment, before he unleashed a howling challenge. "ANCHOR HOWL!"
The boars, still preoccupied on chasing the pup, proved excellent victims to this clever ploy. As the two beasts continued their reckless charge, Draze's weapon glowed a dazzling green, the Halbard leaving an arcing trail as Draze brought it round for a mighty slash at his victims hind legs. Anchor Howl's retaliation blow meant Draze had a little boost on his damage, and he grinned happilly as he saw the two boars yelp in pain from the blows.
His grin quickly faded as the two spun around, his increased threat meaning the pup was forgotten as they began jabbing him with their snouts and tusks. Draze was shoved and pushed, his heavy armor going some way to mitigating the damage as he attempted to bring about his large weapon for another swing.

Klide thanked Mab for the great healing she had done on him, and felt good as new. As Klide began to get up, two boars appeared, chasing what appeared to be Mab's pup. Draze was already up and walked toward the two boars without any hesitation. He stood in between them without getting attacked, as he had not aggro'ed them yet. He suddenly glowed a faint green, and shouted "ANCHOR HOWL!" After which, Draze swept his now glowing halberd though the air and struck both the boars in their hind legs. The boars then turned on him and attacked. Draze seemed to be struggling with holding the two boars off, and was struggling to attack with his halberd. Klide got up and ran to help. He drew his swords as he neared the boars. They had their backs turned to him, and Klide took advantage of that. He brought his swords down and thrust one into the neck of both boars, then he twisted the blades and pulled them out. He slashed his swords at one of the boars and sliced it up quite nicely, the other boar seemed confused on who to attack, both Klide and Draze seemed to have done sufficient damage to piss it off, it just wasn't sure who it hated more at the moment. Klide sliced uts throat before it could decide and watched as its angry face evaporated into sparkles. After sheathing his swords and thanking Draze for taking the brute of the damage from the boars, Klide jumped up and grabbed hold of a branch that over hung the clearing they were in. He hoisted himself up higher into the tree. he looked down at the surrounding area, and saw a small pack of 5 boars off to the east of his party. He jumped down to report his findings. Although 5 was a very large number to be taking on with their low levels, they also had a high level healer among them. Klide was willing to go and take on the pack if the rest of the group was, however, he wanted all three of them to be certain of their decision. He certainly didn't want anyone of them to die, even if they did respawn. Word Count: 375 Tags: Mab , Draze

Mab watched as the striker did his job and helped out Draze. He dispatched the boars without much difficulty, had the boars been a level higher it would have been much more of a problem. Mab was worried about one thing. The swashbucklers weapons, they started to look as if they could fall apart at any time. That was the issue with these starter items. They were almost broken to begin with. Mab recalled the one time she used her own staff. It broke while swatting slimes. Mab decided to warn the tree climbing enthusiast. But would wait until he got back from his tree climbing expedition. “Draze, well done with the anchor howl. That was a good tactic.”The druid complimented the guardian and she meant it. He had done a good job as the tank of the party. Taking the hits so the swashbuckler had the freedom to deal the enemy. “Why don't you go get Eustace... You might need him again...”Mab said as Klide came down from his lookout attempt. “Heya Klide,”Mab said. “Good job!.... eeehm but it is alright to depend on your team members. No need to do it all alone.”Mab felt that she needed to say that, and she gave him a big pat on the back. while she said it. “But hey... at least your weapons didn’t break. hehe”Mab said with a grin on her face. Remembering breaking her own weapon. Five boars at once would be too much for the two first level adventurers. Mab would probably need to help out. But she wanted the swashbuckler to figure that out on her own. Mab could probably keep 2 of the boars distracted, even if they were higher level. They would not be higher than level four or five. Or that was what Mab suspected. “Sure lets go get them.”Mab agreed, she shrugged her shoulders, and started wandering to the new destination. She stopped and turned around. Since Klide was not wounded, she used the Cure Bloom to heal the guardian back to full health. And started walking again. It wasn’t far, and she was sure that Draze would show up, either with his horse or without. The chance was good that he would take appropriate action. The same trust she placed in Klide. “Lemme take care of some too alright!”Mab said to the both of them. Not wanting them to die needlessly. She would wait until each of the boars was sufficiently aggro’d before she would make her move. She did not want all five of the boars to rush at her. So once in the vicinity of the boars Mab asked her pup to zoom attack one of them and keep it occupied, and to slowly lure it to her. That would leave four of the boars up to the others for the moment. Mab was going to use a lighting skill on one of the boars... if it did not kill him immediately it would wound the creature sufficiently for one of the other two to take care of it. Mab would not do so immediately, she would need to wait for the two guys to do their thing first. OOC: the new boars are ranging level 2 to 4.... these will be harder to defeat.... Just as an added challenge?

Word Count: 521 Draze grinned at the praise, thanking Mab for her kind words. They meant alot, and he was ecstatic to know that he was doing the right thing in battle. So much better than that last fiasco with his solo attempt on a boar.
Klide, ever a man of few words, thanked Draze simply before scurrying into a tree, disappearing among the foliage. No doubt he had some plans to scout out the area, so Draze left him to that. He whistled for his mount, who trotted out from behind a thorn bush on the complete opposite of the clearing they were in. The horse came to a stop before Draze, woefully snuffling aroundthe man for an apple or sweet before settling down to graze the short grass patches that sprang from the dirt.
Klide had returned, with news of a larger group of monsters some distance away. Draze mounted Eustace, swinging the shield off his back so he could once again duel wield. As they walked, Draze overheard Mab warn Klide about his damaged weapons. With a start, Draze inspected his own equipment, noticing that his terrible Halberd had suffered majorly, the axe-head jiggling loosely from its fittings to the pole. His armor fared a little better, being of the toughest available type, but was still dented and scraped in places. His shield was pristine, having been unused for the majority of the battle.
Up ahead the group of boars, slightly larger than those they had defeated, snuffled among the dirt for roots and grub. As the Guardian, Draze felt obliged to charge in first, and so he did, Eustace neighing in fear as Draze roared a battle-cry. The pigs were a peaceful sort, and didn't retaliate until Draze had made the first blow, swinging his flimsy weapon in the same manner as before so as to slice at a beast. This time, the cut was good, and Draze galloped onward unhindered, pursued by the five pigs. One boar was soon distracted by a raging ball of fur, Mab's pup making an excellent attack on it. With only 4 boars chasing him, Draze made to turn and perform another strafing run, when a sudden blast of lightning nearly obliterated one of the beasts. Staggering, the boar was on it's last drips of HP, crackling with electricity as it dozily tried to redirect itself towards Mab.
Thinking quickly, Draze began his charge, but pulled up short just before the Boar. As Eustace whinnied in fear, he used Anchor Howl again, the walk between the two boar areas having fulfilled the 30 second cool-down. Too preoccupied by Mabs insane damage, the weakened boar allowed Draze to repeat his last encounters tactic, sweeping his weapon around as the boar trundled past.
As the boar exploded into sparks and bubbles, the remaining three caught up with Draze. Simultaneously headbutting the horse, Eustace panicked, bucking Draze off before galloping away. A loud splinter of wood echoed around the canyon as Draze's Halberd head snapped clean off, leaving him with only his shield. As the 3 boars made to attack him, he raised it defensively, attempting to push them away.

Klide had just come down from his scouting when Mab came over to him and said "Heya Klide." He looked over at her and recognized her greeting. She told him that he'd done a good job, but that it was alright to depend on his team members. "No need to do it all alone.” Klide was grateful for her kindness, and the pat on the back she gave him. "Thank you, Mab. I'm sorry for not relying on both of you more in these fights." Klide was still learning how to fight alongside other people, and since he'd been alone his entire life, it was a struggle to adapt to being able to rely on other people. It was even harder to adapt to complements and encouragement. Mab smiled and said "But hey... at least your weapons didn't break. hehe.” Klide smiled slightly, something he'd not done in a long time. He knew his weapons were on the brink of breaking, with jagged edges and chips in the blade. He said "Yeah, though if that happens, I'll learn how to rely on you both the hard way." Klide then explained what he had seen, the five boars to the east. He offered his warning that if any of them didn't want to go, then there was no need to. Mab said with a shrug "Sure lets go get them." Then she moved a bit towards the east and healed Draze with Cure Blossom. Klide saw Draze look down at his battered weapon. The halberd looked like it would break after only a few swings. Klide and the others walked towards the boars. and they seemed to be bigger than the ones they had faced before, though not by much. Before Klide had even drawn his swords, Draze was charging forward. It was a brave move that showed a lot of trust in his allies. Draze was charging at a group of five boars, the only chance he had of surviving was if his team would help him with their all. Klide had every intention of doing exactly that. Draze now had four boars chasing him, with one preoccupied with Mab's pup. Draze turned and charged through the boars again. A blast of lightning, presumably from Mab, weakened a boar and it charged her instead. the remaining three attacked Draze's horse after he used Anchor Howl again and struck the boar weakened by Mab's magic. Draze was thrown off of his horse, and his ax blade broke away from it's shaft. He was left with a stick and a large shield. He stood behind the shield defensively, and seemed to be struggling to avoid damage. Klide then dove in and used his jagged blades to his advantage. With blades so damaged, they were more like saw blades than sword blades. He dragged the blades across two of the boars backs, tearing the flesh from their hides, and jumped back to avoid their tusks. He hadn't done enough damage to distract them from Draze. He jumped towards them, landing with his blades pointed down to impale the boars, and managed to stab two of them. He grabbed the ax blade on the ground and impaled it in the third boars shoulder. Then he pulled his swords from the boars bodies and ran back for a moment. Two of the boars followed, and he slashed with all his might, keeping them at bay and damaging them simultaneously, though he wouldn't be able to keep it up with his swords damaged the way they were. He jumped over the boars just as they charged and stabbed both blades into one of them. He didn't kill it but he had managed to cut the tendons in both its back legs, so it was unable to run or even walk. He then pulled his swords up out of it. As he was about to finish it, the other boar charged at him and hit one of his swords. It broke the blade in half. Klide took the half sword and chopped down at the boar, but missed. The boar rammed him in the leg and he fell hard. He got to his feet with effort, his leg being torn open. Klide dropped the broken sword and limped over to a tree before the boar attacked. He took a hold of a branch and lifted himself up. The boar stood below the tree and hopped in an effort to attack him. Klide was hanging by one arm, with his undamaged leg wrapped around the branch leaving him parallel to the ground. His damaged leg drooped down, and with the arm not holding onto the branch, Klide attempted to slash at the boar, missing every time. He slipped from the branch due to the shear amount of blood, both his and the boar's, which soaked his cloths. He fell towards the boar and rolled when he hit the ground. his sword flew from his hand and he was defenseless. Klide looked around to see Draze holding his own against the boar attacking his shield. Klide hobbled over to the sword with the broken blade, in an attempt to at least arm himself. The boar behind him charged again and struck his back. Klide fell forward, but he was close enough to the sword now. Just as the boar was about to pounce and dig it's tusks into Klide, he slashed at it's body with the half-blade. The boar dropped to the ground with a squeal. Klide took his weapon and attacked it with the serrated blade. The boar disappeared into sparkles after a few slashes, and Klide was exhausted. He'd been a fool. He should have lured the boars to Mab so that she could help him with them. She was right when she said he didn't need to do things alone. He had to get out of that 'do it alone' mentality or he'd end up dead. With only two boars left, Klide got up and tossed the remainder of his sword to Draze. It would serve Draze better than Klide, and it might give him the advantage he needed to kill the boar. Klide's health had dropped dangerously low, and he needed to avoid death's watchful eye's both for his sake, and for Mab's. He knew how much she hated the idea of having a party member die. Klide and Draze had fought well. The odds were against them in this battle and they stood there, quite the feat. They seemed to have a great mentality. Willing to listen, and willing to cooperate with each other, even though they had not met before prior to this training exercise. Yep these two would do fine. Mab calmly oversaw the battle field and took stock of the remaining enemies. Two boars where defeated, one by Draze and one by Klide. That meant the defender was still getting damage from the two remaining boars. Mab had planned the following. First drawing aggro from the two remaining boars, Mab used Earthbeat healing. Curing both adventurers from their wounds. This would not be immediate but they would feel their health bars raise fast in the next 30 seconds. This act drew the attention of the two boars that were still under the effect of anchor howl. This was great as it would allow Draze another mighty swipe before they reached Mab. Assuming he did so the boars would be wounded indeed. Mab used a secondary skill, Lightening fall. An orb of electricity appeared where the girl held her staff. Targeting the first boar, the creature turned to bubbles as it was already heavily wounded, but the orb did not stop there, it flew on to the next boar finishing that one off too. The lightening dissipated by lack of targets. At this time the zooming wolf pup would have dealt with her enemy too. She had ran into the boars flank, ripping it in half. The creature called out in yelps of victory, as it meandered back to Mab. Looking up at the summoner with demanding eyes. Mab knew what the wolf wanted and she gave it without restraint. She crouched down and hugged the wolf. Her hands moved to the beasts head and she started scratching behind the pups ears. Pup was happy. Mab looked up at the two adventurers. “Well... that was not half bad... was it?”Smiling from ear to ear she looked at the somewhat tired looking guys. “How about we call it a day and head back to town?”Mab suggested. It did not seem wise to the girl to continue at this time. The Swashbuckler and the Guardian looked tired, and they had gained valuable experiences. Mab too, as she had learned a lot about the abilities of the two characters. “So what are your sub classes?”The girl asked curiously. Mab did not think either of them was a pathfinder or a pharmacist. But that did not matter. Maybe they could practice some of their crafts together. Maybe not. It depended on what the boys wanted to do after this. Maybe they had prior engagements. Maybe they were just tired. Well both of them should catch their breath reasonably soon. They just needed to get used to the fighting. Today would have been a good starting point. At least that is how Mab felt about the training day so far.

Word Count: 485 While Klide did an excellent job of taking out his opponents, Draze had to make due with using his shield as a delaying tactic. Loud rings of tusk on metal could be heard as the boars charged again and again, shoving Draze back with the strength of their attacks. It was all he could do to keep blocking, and his health was still going down fairly quickly. He didn't know how long he could keep this up for...
A sudden shock of power overtook him as Mab turned her attention to him, his health bar quickly recovering as her magic went to work. Even as the boars still attacked him, the Earthbeat healing managed to keep him at tip-top health. Mab could not have made a wiser choice, for Klide had just finished his grueling battle, ending it by passing his broken weapon to Draze. Armed once again, Draze could now retaliate, gaining a boost in strength as he swatted the retreating boars. With Mabs power, the boars were quickly dispatched, and the battle won.
Draze collapsed onto the mossy ground, the broken sword and dented shield making a great clang as he dropped them beside him. The guardian was exhausted, the consecutive fights and the damage he had taken having caught up with him. While he was nowhere near as injured as Klide, his armor was in tatters, his shield a twisted mess, and his Halberd was un-usable, so it was impossible for either of the two beginners to continue on at this point.
Luckilly, Mab seemed to have noticed how worn out they were, and had called it quits for the day. Gratefully, Draze gave a short whistle to call his mount again, trotting over to Klide after he climbed onto Eustace to offer the Swashbuckler a ride. He also brought the half-broken sword Klide had passed to him, returning it to it's rightful owner. "It was amazing that you took on those boars by yourself." Draze said, his hand outstretched to help Klide if he chose to get on the horse. "Thanks for lending me your weapon, I needed it badly!"
Mab had posed a question, and Draze spun him and his horse around to face her. "I'm an Artisan, if I remember correctly." He muttered something quietly, before giving a gasp of surprise and waving his hand in front of his face. After a few seconds, it was clear he had accessed his inventory, as a pile of Lv:1 Material suddenly appeared and fell into his lap. "I was gifted this by a kind stranger!" He said excitedly. "He said it was for crafting, and that I could make whatever I wanted with it. What do you think I should do, Mab?"
There were 6 of the Materials in Draze's possession, and it was very obvious the Guardian had not the foggiest clue about how crafting worked. Perhaps someone could enlighten him?
