Curious about the state of animal taming in Elder Tale, Caerbannog pinned up an offer to help any one aspiring animal trainer to learn the ropes. Or at least, as much of a rope as she could teach, since the samurai herself just winged it mostly. But in all her travels, she was able to learn much about the creatures of Elder Tale; she also had the good fortune of having met fellow tamers such as Oxford who had a weasel, the dwarf who was a dwarf, and Capsule who had a rabbit and a golem. The samurai herself liked rabbits and weasels, but due to the limit on the amount of creatures that an animal trainer could keep in their Monster Slot, she couldn’t catch ‘em all. After she had pinned up the offer as an ad on one of the boards scattered around Londinium, the samurai headed towards the meeting place. Its coordinates had been written explicitly on the ad which she put up, and so Caerbannog expected for an adventurer to show up soon. Well, a lander could show up instead; either way, she’d get to teach someone about scouting or even taming a creature of Elder Tale. The meeting place was a short walk outside the gates of the city, well out of the safe zone. The main road was still within her line of sight, and the samurai merely leaned against a tree as she waited for someone to take up the ad and approach her. Caerbannog knew that she probably would not need to be fully-equipped for a day scouting low leveled creatures, but one can never be too sure especially with random appearances of high-leveled weasels. They rarely attacked unless threatened, but there was always the danger of dying if one was not careful. And so the samurai wore her usual yoroi though its samurai-esque appearance was hidden away by her vanity clothing, the black schoolgirl uniform Zankapfel. By her side, she had her usual weapon, the nagamaki Nottulfr; and around her neck there was the Black Star. The wolf-hair leaned against a tree and then she looked down at her shoes as she waited for a fellow animal trainer to come by.

“What a fine day this looks like to be turning in to” Eonis had said to himself as he was exploring through the major city for anything that would occupy his time for the day, he was mingling with the Landers and adventurers as he was making his way through. Eonis was seeing a group having a conversation and join in giving his opinion until he felt that either they wanted him to leave or that he no longer could positively contribute to the topic of the conversation, he continued this loop until he was able to hear a rumor from multiple groups about a famous adventurer offering training for the animal trainer sub class. His interest piqued for the greatest amount today Eonis walked to one of the many bulletin boards erected around the city and to his pleasure he saw the posting offering training to anyone in the animal trainer class, it even had the coordinates so that whoever took it would not have to stress about making an arrangement place. So he decided to take the flyer and with a ping the quest went to notify the person that posted, thus he began his journey to the arranged meeting place. “But first, let me buy some food” Eonis had said to himself as he made a side journey to the market and bout enough food to make a four entrée dinner, after he had done this he began his journey to the coordinates.
With the coordinates appearing in his HUD he had no trouble finding the place that he was supposed to meet the apparently famous adventurer, as he was walking at the pace that he counted as a leisurely stroll he began to repeat the name of the poster over and over trying to put the name to a face. He had never been good when it came to small details like remembering peoples name and things like that. It continued to weigh down on his mind but it did not prove to be that much of a burden to the aloof man, while occupied by his thoughts he had come out of them in time to see he walked past the gates and was currently walking on the main road at a rather accelerated pace. “Oh man I guess I must be somewhat late if I’m walking this fast without thinking about it” Eonis had said to nothing. After about fifteen more seconds of him consciously using the stride of his legs to reach his destination he had come off the main road and he saw a figure dressed in all black leaning against a tree and she seemed to wait patiently for something. As Eonis had been repeating the name of the poster for the past while he was able to tell from the name posted above the figure to tell that it was the person that offered training to other animal trainers, taking a closer look he had taken note of the fact that it was a she and she was wearing what appeared to be a sailor uniform, Eonis thought this was different considering the fact that most people would choose to wear armor or regular clothing. In a gesture of being polite Eonis had extended his armored hand and spoke “Hello, my name is Eonis and I am an animal trainer like yourself, I hope we get along.” While he was waiting for the powerful adventurer to return the gesture his head had gave him a strong pang of pain forcing the man to wince drawing his hand quickly and hold in an a way to relieve the pain. Then something in his memory was starting to jog, only one image had shown itself and it was a powerful one for it was a shady figure with blue glowing eyes as he stared directly at the man’s soul. This had worried him but it also confused him as he had no connection to the woman in front of him, so he continued to extend his hand forward to the girl in hopes of him not being taken as rude.

Though the beautiful black shine of her shoes was a nice thing to look at, the approach of a fellow adventurer was an even more welcome sight. Caerbannog looked up as a guardian walked towards her and held out a hand for her to take as a greeting. Handshakes... so physical. Nonetheless, she did not want to come off as rude, and so the samurai straightened herself up, gave the man a firm handshake and let go as soon as the greeting was done. The adventurer did seem familiar, and when she noticed the name which he also mentioned, memories of one fine evening when she thought that the guy was dead in the streets of Londinium flashed back in her mind. “Aa... nice to see you again,” Caer simply said to the guardian and then she turned towards the denser part of the woods. Between the trees, the creatures of Elder Tale lurked, curious of the approaching adventurer. But before training could begin, an all-important question had to be asked. “What would you like to scout?” the wolf-hair only glanced over her shoulder at Eonis, and then she followed up her question, “Do you have food for it?”Those were two simple questions that she asked so that she could assess Eonis’ thoughts about animal training. There was no correct or incorrect answer even regarding food; it was merely a test of how much he knew so that the samurai could avoid sounding redundant. Additionally, she would be able to direct the scouting session depending on what the guardian wanted.

The greeting was only as long as it was rude so it only lasted a few seconds. The girl said her greetings to him like they met before but he had no clue where he knew her from, not bothering to explore any further he began to follow her without question. She seemed to be all about business as she did not add anything extra so Eonis came to the conclusion that he was not meant to speak much, this may have made sense as the duo was there to attract animals to their person so making a lot of useless noise. The girl with the impossible name “Thank goodness that I had enough sense to buy some food for all animals today” Eonis had said out loud as he took a sigh of relief when asked such an important question. “I have a few pieces of fruit, some cabbages and deer meat.” He had informed the short girl in black of his supplies, and for an extra notch on his level of pre planning he asked around for a animal that would be easy to recruited to helping out anyone that would try.
“I asked around and I was told that a Brier Weasel would be a good mob to scout, can we try training on those first?” Eonis had spoken to Caerbonnog. He did a check once more through his inventory to see if he had enough foods to be able to attract one: he had apples, bananas, a good amont of already cooked poultry, and a few heads of cabbage. Eonis didn’t know what weasels usually ate especially in the game but he knew that he was ready for mostly anything thattheir diet may have encompassed.

Though the guardian did not seem to recognize her, and she thought that way because he did not seem to be as enthusiastic as speaking to her compared to their evening meeting, Caerbannog thought nothing of it and proceeded to the training regimen. Eonis at least answered her question spot on and did not make any long-winded assessments of himself or of his surroundings. The animal trainer skill ‘Scout’, after all, was already concisely and precisely defined. If one was to scout a creature of Elder Tale, they should not aggravate it. That, is, given that Scout was the primary skill of animal trainers and thus the tamer could only hope to remain on the creature’s good side. Domesticize was a whole matter altogether, and could effectively turn the target’s favor towards the tamer if used properly. Since her training was offered to starting animal trainers, the samurai assumed that Eonis only had Scout and did not have Domesticize yet. “A weasel?” the wolf-hair stopped and stared at Eonis for a second to be sure that he was serious. Once Caerbannog ascertained that the guardian was indeed serious when he said that he wanted to scout a weasel, she nodded at him and then continued her walk deeper into the woods. She halted on a spot which was just far enough for the sun’s light to barely be able to go through the thick canopy, but still close enough for them to see the main road though it was distant. She glanced at Eonis’ level and noted that it was at fourteen. The wolf-hair knew that weasels, unlike dull green slimes, frenmic rabbits and young pittered boars, started out at Level 8. If scouting went awry, there was a chance that the target would attack the tamer. If they found a Level 8 weasel, that would be a good gap since 14 was much higher than 8, and Eonis was a guardian so he would be able to survive a kick to the face. They would have to avoid the freak weasels though... how high did their levels even go? All Caerbannog knew was that she came across a Level 40+ brier weasel once. There was another thing that she wanted to know about the guardian; a long shot, but was there a possibility that he could speak the language of the creatures of Elder Tale? “Can you speak their language?” was the samurai’s question. She used the skill Tongue of Nature; her ‘accent’ leaned towards Lapine, the language of rabbits, for her own tamed creatures were rabbits of Elder Tale. To non-speakers, the question would have sounded like the controlled squeak of a frenmic rabbit. She waited for the guardian to respond before they moved on to the next phase, which was to search behind the trees, fallen logs and low bushes for any signs of foraging, scoutable beasts.

After he had said the what animal he was recommended on scouting she had turned to repeat what he had said in a questioning tone. This seemed to bring up red flags in his mind as he began to wonder was there something about the weasels in the area that he was not made aware of, maybe there was an additional effect that he did not know of as he just heard about weasels from the rumors that were coming from the mouths of various individuals so he would not be able to get the fine details if there was anything especially dangerous about them. He went through his head trying to remember what else he heard after they talked about the weasels but as usual he had a hard time remembering anything after the mention of the weasels, someday he may try to improve his memory.
She didn't even wait for him to answer as she looked to be in deep thought for a few seconds then she turned to him and did the most curious of action, she actually did a series of squeaks in a attempt to communicate. "I'm sorry but what?" said Eonis while looking down at the odd girl, he then began to try to take cues from the past few seconds and the expression on her face to see what she was talking about. All he could remember from their previous conversation she asked him how prepared he was so that did not know any clues from there. The expression on her face did not help much either as he could no read it so in response to this short detection he said quietly "I have no idea what you are trying to say, please speak a language that is perceivable by human tongue." Ah, so it was a no-go. Eonis could not understand what she said, so that meant that he did not have the skill Tongue of Nature. The way that the guardian reacted was funny though; his bluntness made Caerbannog laugh, which was a rare thing for strangers to be able to do. “Skill Tongue of Nature,” the samurai said with a giggle, “Let’s you speak to the creatures of Elder Tale.”There wasn’t much to be said about the skill for it was pretty straightforward, but she understood that it could have sounded like a complicated thing from someone who has not used it before. Moreover, given the guardian’s level, it also made sense that he did not have the skill. He would have prioritized unlocking his guardian skills rather than taking an animal-speaking one. “Okay, look for weasels. Gesture, speak softly or use telepathic call,” Caerbannog instructed her companion, her face once again serious and no-nonsense. The samurai took a stick, a small branch that had fallen from a tree, and used it to brush aside some low bushes. She was careful not to move too alarmingly and not to poke some hiding rabbits in the eye. Frenmic rabbits was mostly shy and just bounded away when they noticed the adventurers. The wolf-hair continued to walk deeper into the woods, using the stick to check low vegetation for any occupants instead of poking her head into trouble. Soon they chanced upon a small clearing with a group of boars; the young ones were guarded by one larger pittered boar as they all sniffed at some dew-laden greens. Caer stopped on her tracks as the pittered boar turned to look at her and Eonis, but due to their distance from the group of creatures, the boars merely stared at the adventurers. Any step closer though and the pittered boar would charge at the two. What to do?

With a slight blush to the response to the giggle Eonis was going to comment about the details of the skill but she gave an order to begin the search for weasels, when she added the options of how to communicate he nodded and going to his menu he brought up his party screen and selected the option to include someone in his friends list. Hoping that this would not hinder the girl he began to create some space between the two so that if there were a target engage or scout they could close in like a pincer formation. Hopefully she would notice him making distance from her but still advancing in the same direction for her to notice, as he continued on he copied the girls motions to move brushes out the way be instead he used his shield as he felt that was a little safer. He continued to clear brushes out the way taking note of the surrounding trees and the occasional rabbit until he came upon a clearing, in most cases this would not be something that would become the direction of both the directions attentions but he saw what was in the clearing. It was a group of boars and as they would in nature they were protecting their young by making a circle around them, he saw that the adults had spotted the two and he knew that if any sudden movements were made they would be deemed hostile and would engage the two, he knew he could beat them but scouting animals after that much noise would prove troublesome. While he was in cover he came up with the idea to give them food so he signaled the girl with a open hand with his fingers facing upwards telling her to halt. He went backwards in to the treeline so they won't be startled by the menu opening, with a few seconds passing by he came out from behind his tree with an apple. He held it up doe Caer to see and he rolled it towards the clearing careful not to seem like he was throwing it, only time would tell if the group of boars accept the food and let them pass. The situation was not all that complicated since there was only ONE pittered boar in the group of boars, as noted earlier by Caerbannog. However, there was the risk of alarming nearby creatures if the boar went on a rampage, so a means to pacify the beast was a good idea. Thankfully, Eonis thought of something along those lines and even went the extra mile of just rolling it over to the group of beasts instead of throwing it. The samurai nodded in approval of the guardian’s action. As for the boar, it let the young pittered ones eat the apple since the food item seemed edible and ‘safe’ by boar standards. It loomed over the smaller boars though and would not let the adventurers approach them, so there goes the chance to scout young pittered boars. Maybe the adult boar was some sort of nanny and was being paid by the hour, and would rather not lose any of his charges to the bipeds. Whatever the reason, Caerbannog knew better than to try and communicate with the boar; that species was particularly bipolar much like a woman on her period. Since the adult boar remained on guard and did not loosen up despite the presence of the bright red fruit, the samurai knew that their chance to scout the young pittered boars was next to zero. --Animals here are like animals in the real world,-- she said to her party mate telepathically, --Enticed by the basic necessities like food and shelter.--Once the young pittered boars were done with the apple, the adult boar huffed and led them away from the adventurers. Eventually, the group vanished from the clearing and left a bunch of half-eaten greens on their wake. Caerbannog motioned towards the clearing, letting Eonis lead the way this time on their search for scoutable beasts.
