His hair looks quite messy for the most part, only fixing it on special occasions, like for a job interview or school application photo. His voice is dull and quiet in tone. he more than often wears business casual clothes, even when he isn't working. Real Life In game: Gene is completely removed in appearance to his real-life counterpart, having unrealistically blonde spiky hair, a very muscular build, bold facial features, and sharp blue eyes. He stands at 5'11" and weighs 160 lbs. This appearance was made to be more akin to that of a western-style fantasy character and has made his voice more outspoken and brimming with confidence. He likes to wear sleeveless shirts (sometimes with shoulder pads) and any pair of pants as long as they don't fit too tight around the legs or are too short. In Game [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]In real life, Ken is a quiet person and prefers to keep to himself rather than get involved or stand up for himself/others. He's used to taking orders and getting pushed around or fooled by everyone around him. He's not the most confident individual or the best at anything, hesitating most of the time and staying away from things he's not entirely familiar with. he has a tendency to over-analyze things in fear that he might mess up even the simplest of tasks. He has a lot of pent-up anger and frustration since he's too afraid to express how he feels and often isolates himself from the rest of the world, slowly turning him into a very bitter person. In Elder Tale, however, he's able to express himself freely without any doubts or fear of consequences. In this world, he feels like he could do anything, defeat any enemy, like he was invincible. He was a different person all together, caring little for how other felt about him, often just laughing off any failures or mishaps. He's a very hotblooded person, especially in the heat of battle. He's no leader in mindset, so he prefers to follow others than lead himself or just go solo. The one thing he absolutely detests is seeing anyone other than himself get hurt because of his actions, seeing anyone (especially girls) sad/heartbroken, and seeing others get bullied. He'll stand up for anyone he thinks is in trouble and try to solve the problem at hand. He acts very casual and can be very blunt or lack tact. His actions are influenced more by his feelings rather than his thoughts like his other self. All he ever wants is to just have fun with some friends and create a few precious memories with them. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"]Kenjiro grew up in Tokyo with his mother, father, and younger brother. His father worked hard to raise a family in a bustling suburban neighborhood and his mother took care of them and the house while he was away at work. His brother, Hoshio, was an active tot and troublemaker while Ken would always try keeping him out of the inevitable trouble he'd get himself (and sometimes him) into. As years past, he'd continue being the responsible elder brother and look out for his younger sibling while his parents worked to keep them fed and bathed, but it all eventually changed. When his their father got promoted to manager of one of the branches of his company, they made enough money to move out of their old home into one that was much more luxurious. Ken did well in school with above average grades, but his parents pushed him to go further in his studies. For the most part, he liked to play games with friends online since he couldn't make any anywhere else. He rarely went outside unless it was to do run errands or go places with family. His brother, on the other hand, made lots of friends and was on his way to being a star athlete. His parents were more proud of him than they were of Ken because of this, despite Hoshio's grades being worse than his own. Of course he didn't mind that he got more praised, he just wanted to be left in peace, and he was as long as he did well. After graduating high school and his brother became a 1st year, Ken didn't know what he wanted to do and went to college to get his major in data analyses, seeing as there were jobs in that field at his father's place of work. His folks didn't have great expectations for him, unlike his brother who went through a growth spurt and towered over him in stature. Hoshio would always be out partying, going on dates with different girls, winning local sporting events, everything that Kenjiro failed miserably at. He grew an inferiority complex and became distant from his little brother, making their sibling relationship virtually nonexistent. After graduating from a two-year course, he came under his father's employ and was harder on him than the rest of his coworkers to show them that he wasn't getting any preferential treatment from the manager, sometimes making an example out of him to straighten them out. He worked a miserable desk job, always dressed in suits, his closet filled business-type outfits. All while Hoshio was succeeding at life in high school as a 3rd year, becoming a sports idol and role model to a lot of other students. He wanted to be happy for him, but he couldn't help but feel so weak and inferior to him and made him fall into a melancholic state. He didn't mind before, but now he'd get no praise and would only ever get nagged or scolded for messing up at work or not measure up to his brother's greatness. In all that time he never even got a girlfriend, so he was also accompanied by loneliness. Whenever he saw his brother or anyone else having a good time with a girl, his heart would sink and he'd retreat back into his shell that was his room. His life sucked, so he saved up enough money to purchase a copy of Elder Tale, a revolutionary MMORPG that had been running longer than any other online game, and played it for the following months. All of his doubts and worries melted away as he played on, fighting mobs and other players in intense battles with great vigor. He would sometimes get praise for being reckless and outdoing himself, just having a laugh with everyone. To him this was an ideal world where there were no more problems or worries for anyone playing. As long as he could live in this world, he didn't need anyone else's praises or attention. Then the newest expansion, The Novasphere Pioneers, was released was quickly installed onto Kenjiro's computer. When he realized what was going on, that everyone found themselves stuck inside of this game world in a strange and unfamiliar setting, he slowly began to revert back to his self in the real world with the fear of death clinging to his shoulders. But that fear suddenly vanished after a player was killed in the mass hysteria and was brought back to life in the Cathedral. All that remained now was questions like "How did we get here?"
