The area known as St. Pancras Station was definitely run down, but this is where there were crafting workshops, or so the rumors said. Having enough money to pick up some of the lowest crafting materials available, Lax made his way down to the station to look for a place to forge himself a new sword. The plate armor would have to wait until he could afford more materials and had the skill to create decent armor and weapons above level 1, but for now he was content to forge a sword for practice. His Katana was currently junk tier, and he wanted to at least make a weapon that had the potential to expand in level and power. The Samurai wandered through the train station, seeing all sorts of crafters working at their trade, but not really finding something that screamed "Lax" enough. When he had made his way through almost all of the various workshops, or at least the ones that had an open door to him, he finally found something that was good enough to call his workplace for the day.
The train car looked so abandoned, tipped over on its side facing away from everywhere else. It looked alone and isolated from the hustle and bustle of various merchants and blacksmiths and tailors and whatever other trades were represented here, all trying to make a name for themselves. Climbing in through a broken window, Lax found it to be quite homely. There was plenty of ventilation as most of the windows were broken and the doors were stuck open, and there was even enough empty space for Lax to be able to get his coal placed. The interface was opened as if the new blacksmith was reaching towards nothing, allowing him to select all of the ingredients that he had available to him. He selected the forging start up skills so that he could get a good fire started, and watched as the fire animation lit up the little area that Lax had designated. The little subway car quickly glowed brighter, growing nice and warm in the afternoon air. That had to be the first step in making a new item, getting a fire ready, so that is where Lax started.
Clearing the trash and stuff off the ground was the next step. While usually disorganized, Lax couldn't have papers tripping him while he was in the process of forging his new sword. An old seat became his workbench, while another became his anvil. Rudimentary, for sure, but they reminded him of himself. Unwanted, unnoticed, abandoned. This time he had brought an actual hammer rather than just a rock, so he'd be much more capable as a smith when he was trying for real. With the fire started, Lax worked on beginning his new sword. He pulled up the interface and selected the coal, removing it from his inventory in order to get a really hot fire going. A hot fire was going to allow him to melt down the metal needed for the weapon, or so he hoped. He'd never done this before.

With the fire all set and roaring nicely, Lax removed the unrefined metal from his inventory and placed it in the fire delicately. His Heatsink skill was toggled on to make that fire treat him less harshly, but even still it was a fire capable of melting down metal into a more refined and easy to use system. Lax puzzled over the forging menu, wondering what he was supposed to be doing. A couple selections later and he was getting the pure metal out of the fire and onto his makeshift workshop table, enjoying the manual labor. It let him think about whatever he want as he hammered away, then let it heat up, then hammered away again. What kind of weapon did he want this to be? Of course he wanted it to be a sword, that much was obvious. He wasn't ready to go about using some other weapons, and while Samurais traditionally used a lot of weapons, he was comfortable being a swordsman for now.
As the blade began to take shape, Lax had to start thinking about the design of the weapon as a whole. Sure he wanted it to be a Katana, but what length, what width? What kind of guard, what kind of hilt? All of these were important in the design of a sword, or so anime would lead him to believe. He'd never been a blacksmith before, and it was merely by the interface of the game, er, world of Elder Tale, that he was able to forge like this. Maybe eventually he'd be able to design cool things without the assistance, but for now he was limited to merely designing in his head and letting the interface guide his actions. The blade soon became more clear, and he opted for a standard hilt without any sort of adornments. The guard, however, he wanted to be special. The guard he designed to look like a radiating flame in a circle away from the weapon. He thought it looked really cool to have that flame stretching out from the blade, and he was happy with how it turned out. He even let himself slip a small secret smile as he admired his own work. No one would see him, after all.
The weapon looked mostly ready, but it still had some finishing touches that needed done. It was too hot to handle, and definitely was too hot to be stable at the present time. It would get dents or scratches real easily in this super heated form. The interface guided him to use the Old Quencher next to get it cooled, but he didn't really have a spot for that yet. Leaving the weapon in the heat to maintain its integrity, Lax cleared away a small section of the train car to make enough room for the next step in the creation process to go through much more smoothly. The weapon would have to be cooled in order to keep it in a pristine condition and battle ready, so the Samurai prepared to get his still unnamed katana out of the fire and into the quencher.

The glowing red sword was removed from the makeshift forge and plunged into the Old Quencher that Lax had set up in a hole. Steam poured out of the hole as the weapon was rapidly cooled, but it was fortunate that it was safely cooled. It could now be handled without any sort of protection, and even used to attack with if Lax so chose. It was a finished product... almost. It may have been cooled, but it wasn't sharpened and it wasn't named yet. So as Lax got to carefully sharpening the weapon, he pondered on the nature of names for weapons. He mentally scrolled through books and movies and shows, but none of those really fit his sword. His sword was special, something he had made with his own hands. It needed a name that he came up with, not some other author. What do I want this weapon to be characterized by... I want it to be a weapon of pain and anger as I strike people down in daylight. I'm no assassin, I'm a hitman. I want it to be a weapon of fire, letting people know that I am there and will not be ignored... I want it to be a primal weapon, something of raw emotion... I've got it."
Taking his Starter Kunai to the weapon, he etched a name into the pommel. "Wrath" he called it. It was a simple name, but primal and raw in its meaning. The weapon represented the rage at Edward's dead past, of being ignored, and the anger that it would take to make something new out of Lax's new life.

A name and a sharp blade were all well and good, but Lax wanted this weapon to have some bite to it. He wanted to reforge it, even though he had just created it, to work on giving it an element. Elemental swords were cool, and with the guard already appearing like a flame radiating outwards, why not try to give it a fire elemental effect to each of its attacks? The interface said a reforge like that needed an unrefined metal and two old quenchers, so Lax quickly bought those off a person of the land milling about in the Station before returning to his cozy workshop in the abandoned train car. Giving the newly christened "Wrath" a new lump of unrefined metal to work with, he set about with the reforging process in his interface. He slowly added metal as he continuously placed the sword into the fire to heat it up, then removed it and worked it slightly before pushing it back in.
It was a much more involved process than with the first forging of the weapon. To reforge it even better involved multiple fine touches added to the blade, adding raw material to its form. Most of the material was used in creating a raised surface along the flat of the blade appearing to be a flame rising from the guard. When all of that was finished, Lax put it into another bucket of Old Quencher to finalize all of the structural work. The harder part was still yet to come.

The structural work was all done for the reforging of Wrath, which involved adding a good deal more raw material in a flame pattern rising from the guard to the tip of the blade. Wanting to imbue the weapon with the element of Fire, Lax plunged the sword into the hot coals of his furnace and began opening up his forging menu. He had all the materials for his reforging, and he had the skill to preform the level 1 task, and he wasn't even attempting a difficult or rare trait to his weapon. He merely wanted Wrath to glow red and burn his enemies as he cut into them. That was too difficult a chance, so he had high hopes for this sword. He'd named it special, and would be more than a little perturbed if he had to start all over again. The next sword, even if it had the same design, wouldn't be named Wrath. It would be either an imitation of Wrath, or its own separate named sword. After heating up the sword to the point where it had absorbed enough energy to be reforged, Lax put it once again into an Old Quencher, finalizing the work on Wrath, for now.
