It was almost mid day and Lavinia spent the majority of it inside. She spent most of the day pouring over the books the shopkeeper let her borrow, inside the back of his shop. The shop was one where you could buy potions and other medical consumables, however Lavinia wasn't really interested in what was sold here, she was concerned with what knowledge she could acquire here. The shopkeeper didn't seem to mind her presence and didn't even mind answering her questions as he worked. The shop was in its normal comdition, comfortable, smelling of disinfectant, cleaner and was well lit. The shopkeeper, an older man moved busily through the shop, straightening things up, doing some sort of paper work behind the counter or working in the back of the shop where Lavinia is. Reading about mana potions in a book, the potions themselves don't seem to be to difficult to make. This one ingredient, Lavinia has never heard of it before. "Mana Fragments, what are those?" she called to the shopkeeper. "They're exactly exactly what they sound like, crystalized mana. They come from Alchemists mostly. I have some in a box under the work bench." he replied pointing to a section of the work bench. Lavinia nodded and returned to her book, she continued to read about the lesser mana potion. The book mentions how the potion could be improved, but after a certain point adventures stopped buying them, so better versions were never created. As Lavinia turns the page and reads the title of the next section "Potion of the Nighteye" the door to the shop opens and the shopkeeper goes to the counter to await the customers request. Ame found herself standing outside of the local potions shop, looking up at the sign. She needed some mana potions, and figured this would be the place that she need to go. She had found that her mana lasted a decent amount of time, but she was worried about going into large fights without any back up. She wanted to be fully prepared and it didn't hurt to have some back up, especially when she used her Martyr Spear, which consumed a large portion of mana. She opened the door and walked inside. "Hello there." She smiled to the shop keeper, not noticing the petit summoner that she knew well sitting behind the counter as well. She waved and began looking around. She saw many different potions, some red, some blue, some other colours. Her eyes widened at the sight of so many.
She slowly made her way up to the desk, Lavinia still hidden behind the shop keeper. "I'm looking for some mana potions. Can you tell me how much they are?" She spoke sweetly to the person of the land, noticing that most were so friendly, and seemed to have their own minds. The older man in front of her would probably be no different than the woman who constantly allowed her to use her kitchen for her cooking needs. She loved the PoL almost as much as she loved the other adventures she had met so far. Everyone was great to her, and she loved being in parties with everyone. She definitely was what she should be, a support class.

Lavinia at first doesn't realize the customer is in fact Kitty, but the fact that it is Kitty for some reason makes Lavinia hungry. Maybe its Kitty's delicious meals, who knows "I'll have to go find something to eat after I finish this section." she thought before getting back to her book. Kitty asked the the shopkeeper for mana potions, the shopkeeper had plenty in stock and the prices were pretty good too. "Of course we do young lady, they are..." said the shopkeeper before Lavinia cut him off. "Kitty?!" Lavinia explaimed standing from her chair, book still in hand. "You need mana potions? I could make you some if you'd like." she said smiling at Kitty. The shopkeeper smiled at them "You know her?" the shopkeeper asked Lavinia refering to Kitty. Lavinia nodded in response "Oh yes, shes a good friend." she said looking at Kitty still smiling. "Well, feel free to use whatever you like, as usual." he told Lavinia then he turned to Kitty "If you'll excuse me, I have more work to do." he said politely and returned to his work around the shop. "Well, how many do you need? " she says as she motions for Kitty to follow her and heads to the back of the shop where everything is made. The back of the shop has racks of herbs drying, various liquids for making potion known, and dozens of empty vials for the finished potions themselves. Lavinia spins around crosses her arms and waits patiently for Kitty to tell her how many she needs. Word Count: 260 Tagged: kittygrey

Ame stood staring in shock at Lavinia, eyes wide, mouth open. "Wha- What are you doing here?" She shook her head and closed her eyes, almost as if she was dreaming or something, though when she opened them again, Lavinia was still in the shop. She smiled widely and nodded at her. "Oh yes, I do! Thank you! Five of them should be plenty!" She walked over to the counter opening and thanked the NPC as he strode away. She slid behind the counter and sat down. "Utilizing the PoL's I see! It's okay, I do too! You should come to my place of 'work' I suppose you could call it, sometime! I'll cook you a nice meal!" Her voice was excited as she looked down at the books. She thought maybe she could treat her to something to eat in repayment of making her potions, though like most, she probably would just want the money, which was also okay by her standards. She had completed her first job not long ago and had gotten paid on it too, a substantial about by her standards. She was completely grateful though, and didn't mind sharing her wealth with others, especially one she thought of as a good friend. She had almost forgotten that Lavinia was a potions maker, what were they called again? "Hey Lavinia, whats your subclass called again?" Though Ame was smart, she knew she would have a hard time being what Lavinia was, as she was bad with formula's and such, which was why she had chosen chef as her class, she knew she could cook, and loved it more than pretty much anything in the world, this one, or the other one.

Kitty's reaction to Lavinia being here amused her making her chuckle "I'm learning." she says holding up the book to show kitty. Hearing the way Kitty describes how they are using the People of the Land Lavinia doesn't really agree with it. To Lavinia they seem just as much real as the adventures are, maybe Kitty didn't realize this yet but she dismissed the thought since she has work to do now. "Just five? Sounds easily enough." she said as opens her book to the recipe for the mana potions. She fetches all the materials mentioned in the book from the various shelves and places them on the work bench in front of her. "I'm a Pharmacist, okay lets get started." Lavinia says as she takes the mana fragments and places them in a glass container full of a dark blue solvent. "First, we take the mana fragments and dissolve them in this solvent so they can be ingested like a drink." she says glancing at the book and back at the glass container every so often. "This should take a minute. So while they are dissolving we can start the next step." she says as she takes a small device for heating things and places it on the bench. "Once they dissolve we add the whole mixture to another mixture that will dilute the solvent. But that mixture must be heated, so..." she says as she places another glass container on the hot plate that is filled with a blue liquid typical color for mana potions. While she waits for the fragments to dissolve and the blue liquid to heat up to a low boil Lavinia can't help but ask "So, how are you and Balore?" she says quietly with a sly smirk but loud enough Kitty's fox ears should be able to hear her. Lavinia was curious, she had no real proof that Kitty had a 'thing' for Balore, just a hunch going off the body language she gives in certain situations with him. It really wasn't any of Lavinia's business either, as usual curiosity would get the better of her but she was ready to be rejected too. Word Count: 361 Tagged: kittygrey

Ame smiled to Lavinia, happy to see that she was doing her work, and learning her crafting skill so well. She knew that the man would be a good teacher for her, as she found the PoL had minds of their own. They weren't just NPC's that said the same thing over and over, no, they were more real, having their own thoughts and such. She had conversed with the woman that she used the kitchen off of, and found it strange, and somewhat odd that the PoL had held a conversation so well, but, even still, the monsters of this world seemed to have their own minds as well, so she probably would have been sad if the PoL's were different. She nodded her head as Lavinia spoke again. It was more of a tester for her to try out the mana potions, and with her race and staff giving her lesser mana costs, she figured five would be a good starter number.
ame slapped her head to her forehead. "Pharmacist, right! For some reason, I want to say alchemist..." She let out a small giggle and shook her head. She hoped she hadn't offended Lavinia with not remembering the name. She knew what she did as a crafting skill, but she had just wanted to call it something else. Some other games that she had played had named them alchemists, which was why she probably had a hard time with the word pharmacist, they were similar roles that even sounded similar. But she nodded, making a mental note of the name and watched, and listened as Lavinia worked. She would watch her glance back to the book every so often and smiled as she spoke her instructions aloud, following them quite well. She continued to watch as she went on, using different instruments for different things, but her eyes widened once she hear the last thing Lavinia had said.
Ame's ears perked up, and twitched at the question. Her tail, sensing her anxiety, found itself trying to tuck itself anywhere it could. She looked over at Lavinia as pink flushed her entire face. "Huh? Me and Balore? Uh.. uh.." She paused, wondering what she meant, even though she knew what she had meant. She hung her head low and continued. "I guess you've caught me haa~ I don't know. I doubt he'd like someone like me anyways, but, I do think he is very nice and," She paused again, her eyes shifting as she cringed her face with anxiousness. "He's very handsome too. But at the same time, I don't actually know him. And I suppose, that I might like someone else as well." She felt her pinkness increase as she lifted her head and shifted her eyes to Lavinia. "I'm really dumb when it comes to this sort of thing, if you couldn't tell." She hoped Lavinia wasn't the judging type, but she also knew she wanted someone to talk to, and she was really the person she would call a good friend in this world, so she hoped she could talk to her.

Lavinia chuckled at Kitty mixing up the two crafting classes. Lavinia remembers the description of the Alchemist crafting class, it sounded rather fun to take if it was your sort of thing. "Alchemist does sound like a fun crafting choice." she says as she mixes the glass container of dissolving mana fragments. Glancing back at the recipe she sticks a thermometer into the blue liquid sitting on the hot plate and checks the temperature of the liquid. "Not quite warm enough." she says leaving the thermometer in glass container. As Kitty fumbles over her own words at Lavinia's obvious accusation of her feelings for Balore Lavinia sets out another glass container of solvent and adds two more mana fragments to the mixture. As Lavinia moves to continue sturing the first batch and smiles as she thinks Lavinia has caught her when in fact shes wrong, kinda. "I didn't really have any proof, only a hunch, until now." as she says this she feels a pang of guilt for manipulating Kitty into telling her this so she quickly apologizes and lets Kitty continue. "He is very handsome, and absolutely clueless, most guys tend to be." she said starting kind of shyly and then amusement towards the end of the statement. "Does she not know how beuitful she is?" Lavinia asked herself amused "If you'll excuse my bluntness, any guy with a brain, whether its between his ears or his legs would be stupid to not give someone like you a chance." she says seriously as she continues to slowly mix the glass container. "Your gorgeous, funny, kind and an amazing cook. If I was a guy I'd snatch you right up, quick." she continues going from serious to laughing at the end. Lavinia again checks the mixture on the hot plate and sees that its the correct temperature, she quickly holds the glass container she was stirring up to the light to ensure the mana fragments were dissolved and they were. With a precision and speed that made it look like she knew what she was doing she poured the dissolved mana fragments into the liquid on the hot plate. She then took the combined mixture and placed it on a pad off to the side to cool. "Once that cools a bit we put it in vials and this batch should make five. That container is pretty much one big mana potion. Though if you drink it all at once it would probably kill you." she says as she moves the other container in front of her and begins sturing just like before. "Someone else?" Lavinia asks curiously wondering who this other guy could be. Word Count: 445 Tagged: kittygrey

Ame felt a blush surround her cheeks as Lavinia chuckled at her mix up. She nodded, also thinking that it had sounded cool, though being a chef was her top choice, and she would choose it again if she could go back. She loved her character. The looks were based on her own, but she found that her personality had changed upon entering Elder Tale, something she would ponder over several times as she continued to remain here. She wondered why she couldn't be the same person in her real life, but, ultimately she knew the reason. She watched Lavinia work, letting her thoughts escape her mind for the moment and then she looked at Lavinia as she apologized. She knew that eventually she had wanted to speak with her about her conflict, and felt bad that she had apologized, but she also knew the reason. It was a tactic of manipulation, but if she really didn't want to answer, she could have just blown the question off. She shook her head to her in a way of saying not to worry. She was happy that she had brought it up.
At Lavinia's words of Balore, she felt her face become hot and she knew that her face was red, though she wouldn't pay it any mind as she heard her next words. Her eyes flew open and her face remained flushed as she lunged forward and took Lavinia into a hug. She wrapped her arms around her tightly and then shyly stepped back, sitting back down where she had been before. "R- Really? You really think that much of me?" She looked down at her hands, folded neatly in her lap. "Thank you very much." She smiled widely and then looked back up. She felt as though for the first time, she could really trust someone. She thought very highly of Lavinia as well. She was very intelligent, funny, and super cute! She kind of wished that she would call her Nee- san, the way that her little sister had called her when she had first been adopted by her family, though she was too embarrassed to ask such a question. Perhaps one day she would ask, though the mere thought made her blush, which would have been apparent if her face hadn't already been as red as the reddest roses, or a really bad sun burn.
Ame looked to her, nodding at her statement of letting it cool, and then her eyes widened. "Well, that's good to know. Don't drink too much unless you plan on committing suicide." She let out a small giggle as she was, of course, just joking. She didn't have it in her to do anything like that, but just for safe measure she added, "just kidding, of course!" She hoped Lavinia wouldn't take her words too seriously. With her next question, she would lower her gaze to her hands again. "Well, I don't really know him either. The truth is, I'm afraid to further anything, with anyone, since this, though as real as it is, is just a game. The other, he's a fox tail cleric as well. I met him only a few hours before I met you, and Balore. I know you said that any guy would be stupid not to give me a chance, but, I don't think he likes me in that way. I don't think either of them do, but, they are both very sweet, and equally hot." She paused, looking up at Lavinia, her eyes beginning to tear up slightly. "What am I supposed to do Lavinia? I'm scared.. What happens when we get out of here? What happens if we meet? Say they both like me, and I have to choose between them, what if we meet in the real world? What if that person doesn't like me, or I them?" She sniffled back her tears and shook her head. Those were a lot of 'what ifs' in one sentence and she just, couldn't handle it. She shook her head again and continued. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be acting this way. Especially after you said those things about me. I'm grateful, but in reality, I'm different from Kitty. Sure, we have the same features, the same face, but here, I feel like I'm a different person." She lowered her head again. She didn't know what else to say, or what to do, and she doubted Lavinia had the answers, but, she was really the only one she could talk to about this matter, so, even if it was to release some of her anxiety, she figured it would do some good for her. She already felt better after all.

Kitty's sudden lunge toward her actually caught Lavinia off guard so she jumped a bit when Kitty hugged her. "Careful!" she says giggling as she almost spills the container she is mixing as Kitty hugs her. "I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it." she said softly. Kitty's joke at using the potion to commit suicide forces the memories of her parents death into her head. This particular time, a fuzzy image of her mother pointing the gun at her a flash then at her own head and another flash. She stopped mixing as her grip tightened on the glass utensil, her gaze focused on the container in front of her. Her eyes reflect the ache in her chest as she appears to be off in some other world in her head. The glass mixing utensil snapping between her fingers finally snaps her back to her senses. Lavainia gasps and apologizes to Kitty quickly as she retrieves a set of tweezers from a drawer and plucks the pieces of glass from the mixture. Lucky it just broke into large pieces or she'd have to do it all over again. Lavinia listened carefully to Kitty speak as she mixed some more testing the temperature of the other container. Jerking her hand away because it's still hot as she works quietly listening to Kitty's every word. Lavinia decided it would be best to let Kitty finish completely before she replied and really the answer was pretty simple at least for Lavinia. It was funny how having an outside perspective makes things so clear. "Well, don't you just have hot guys raining down all around you." she said hoping the joke would lighten the mood a bit, even if it was awful. Lavinia didn't reply for a minute to collect her thoughts. As she did this she took 5 vials from a drawer and placed them and 5 corks on the workbench. She then fetched a funnel from another drawer and places it in the top of one of the vials. Carefully testing the glass container finally being cool enough to handle bare handed so she picks it up and carefully starts filling the first of the three vials it will fill. As she does this she finally replies to Kitty. "You remember our conversation the other day? The one about protecting others? I decided from that day I'll live like this world is the real world." she says still pouring. "We may get out of here tomorrow, next week, 50 years from now or never. We really don't know if we'll even die of old age. So isn't that reason enough to live the life here to its fullest? If it isn't we might as well just stay in town and never leave, or make friends or in your case fall in love. Understand?" she continues as she finishes filling the third vial. Setting the now empty glass container off to the side, Lavinia scoops up 3 of the corks and places them in the top of the vials and then carefully slides them to Kitty "Three down." she says with a smile before she continues answering Kitty's concerns. Taking the second container and holding it up to the light it still requires more mixing. Lavinia continues mixing as she begins to speak again "Well, I'm sure you've heard about the couples that meet online, then eventually get married. Isn't that kind of just like this, but with better previews or whatever?" she says laughing as she finished the mixture placing it on the hot plate. Now Kitty has Lavinia's full attention for a moment, looking at her "You really just worry to much about it. It could end up neither are interested or both then things get rough. But the more you worry the more stressful becomes, if it happens, it happens. Then if they don't like you or whatever, you'll move on eventually. If they aren't the one they aren't. But isn't at least worth finding out if they are?" she says smiling at her, she wonders why Kitty didn't think of this in her own. Taking the same thermometer and placing it in the container Lavinia checks it knowing it won't be ready yet. "Are you so sure your different? Give this a thought. What if, this is in fact the real you? The you that's buried underneath that mask you wear every day to protect yourself." she says softly with her normal smile looking right into kitty's eyes. Ame found herself giggling with Lavinia as she told her to be careful, and then feels a soft blush against her cheeks as she smiles sweetly, but with her joke about the mana potions, she sees Lavinia's eyes take on a different look. It made her heart sink looking at the sadness in them, and she began to wonder what sort of life Lavinia had lived in her real life. Had her past been dark, like her own? What had happened to this sweet girl for her to have a look like that in her eye's and that feeling in her heart. Ame felt sad as she continued to look at her. She almost wanted to ask, but, she couldn't bring herself too. How would she even go about asking about the sadness in her eyes? She sighed softly and put her head down. How could she ask about someone else's past when she, herself, didn't feel as though she could even reveal her own. It wasn't fair, but as she began to speak, changing the subject, she watched Lavinia take on a different role.
She could see the interest in her eyes, and her joke made her giggle a bit. She really hoped it wouldn't start raining hot guys, she had enough on her plate and with that thought, she felt herself giggle a bit more before finishing. As she listened to what Lavinia was saying, she couldn't help but to lean in closer. It wasn't that she couldn't hear her or anything, but a thought popped into her head that made her body react even further to what she was telling her. She nodded her head as she found herself staring at Lavinia. She couldn't help it, her words felt so intense. With the mention of 'better previews,' Ame let out a soft laugh but as she continued, she, herself continued to nod and as she finished her last line, Ame felt her head tilt to the side. Her heart was pounding, and she was sure that if it were real life, her palms would be sweating from the intense conversation that had went on. She looked at Lavinia and smiled.
"Has anyone ever told you that you are wise far beyond your years?" Not that she knew her real age, but she knew she was in her teens, minimum. She sighed lightly and nodded. "You're right, Lavinia. I should live like this is my real life, especially since right now, it is. And, if one of them really is my true love, then I'd call it fate being thrown here, into this game." She smiled, and knew what she wanted to do. She would get to know the two of them, and if they really liked her, she would know which to choose, and if she didn't, then she would know neither was right for her. But then her mind wandered to Lavinia's last words. 'The mask I wear to protect myself?' She knew it was true. She had been so hurt so young, that she allowed others to hurt her, and she rarely did anything about it. Here, in this world, she stood up for herself, and fought for the friends she thought were worth fighting for. She was calm, cool and collective, and she had a tonne of friends. She had thought on more than one occasion that she wanted to be her character, but the reality was, she was her character! "Lavinia, you really are a genius, you know!"
She beamed a happy smile at her and laughed softly, clapping her hands together. "I'm not going to be afraid anymore." She thought about how strange it was, that at some point in her life she had had a similar conversation with someone who used to be her friend and had given her similar advice, but because she was now the one asking the questions, she had had no clue. Only the help of the petite Lavinia had allowed her mind to become at ease. She smiled still as she spoke once more. "You said you love strawberries right? Afterwards, I would like to make you something with them. I don't really know what you like, but I know lots of recipes. Strawberry and chicken salad, strawberry parfait, I could even make strawberry jam if you'd want? I'd like to treat you, for being such a great friend, and such a wonderful person!" She smiled widely, allowing her eyes to show her appreciation, but also in a way, begging her to allow her to cook for her. She also found herself not wanting to let the conversation stop either.

Kitty's compliment at Lavinia's wisdom took her by surprise "Wha-what no I'm not!" she argued "Its... just easier to see things clearly from an outside perspective." she says shyly. She knew she was smart, but that is only because she had decent problem solving skills and was bright enough to have a general understanding of most things, but wise? That was a first for Lavinia in either world. "If we traded places I would probably be just as lost as you." she said, she didn't really like the thought of being wise, made her feel like she was getting old. As Kitty reiterated Lavinia's advise she checked the temperature of the glass container, its getting close. Fetching two more vials and corks from the workbench Lavinia removes the final batch of mana potions and places it on the pad to cool. As Lavinia prepares the last set of vials to be filled Kitty comments on how Lavinia is a genius. This was one of the things she took pride in, her skill to reason and work her way through unknown things to better understand them. All the reply Lavinia gave was a noncommittal shug of her shoulders, but the sly grin on her face screamed "I know". Lavinia didn't reply to Kitty saying she wont be afraid anymore, she was just glad Kitty finally understood things the way she did. "I do, I love Strawberries, Strawberry and chicken salad sounds good. I don't think I've ever had that before." she says smiling, blushing at Kitty's compliments. As Lavinia spoke she took the glass container and begain filling the last two vials. As she filled them the last one was slightly to full to put the cork on so she puts the cork in the last one. "Take a sip of that its a bit to full. Plus you can see how it tastes, I've never made these before." Lavinia said to Kitty handing her the full vial and the cork, intending for Kitty to place the cork in once she took the sip. Now that Lavinia was done crafting for Kitty she was actually kind of hungry. "Now that I'm not working, I'm actually kind of hungry." she says smiling at Kitty with that all to familiar smile.
