This thread is for the participants to use if needed to plan and organize
This battle will be taking place in a massive underground train junction. It's circular in shape and about 300 meters across with 25 meters to the ceiling. There are some support pillars which are spaced in the room. There are also a large amount of tunnels leading into the junction, some of which have collapsed and others leading to unexplored areas. A circular track rings the outer edge of the room. There is an elevated operators box for the switches located in the center of the room. The room is reasonably lit with magitech lighting which still is functional, however not all of it has stood the test of time. Some of the lights are broken, leaving areas with shadows or in darkness.
The Phantom train is a hybrid Mechanical Undead/Spirit type. It has a multitude of special attacks and is known for being spontaneous in it's actions and speed.
This team is accompanied by Freedrick, a Ritual Enchanter/Exorcist. Freedrick is short and very thin with a messy head of black hair. He has a very determined but eccentric personality and genuinely wants to help the team... in his own way. He was one of the original explorers that was tasked with mapping the underground. He is not quite as combat savvy as the rest of the team but makes it up with book smarts. He is often independent in what he chooses to do.
Members of this team-
Scoria
Capsule
Caerbannog
Kumori
Tobin

Since this group is so large, there will be the option to split up into 2 smaller teams. They will both be taking part in the same overall fight but will have slightly different roles to compensate for the fact there is only 1 healer. One will be the primary tank group and the other will be an off tank/dps group. They would be in the same fight, it would just be split into more like different points of view of the same fight with both also effecting each other a bit. The split would be 4 and 3 for those. So I'l leave it up to you guys to decide if you want to go with the single large battle of 7 or 2 smaller threads.

I would prefer to participate in two ways; I'll support the main tank and assist with DPS. Or I'll act as the support for the healer and attack from a distance while fending off any surprise monsters.
Btw; who IS the healer? XD

Idk man, I don't see any healers. We've got 2 dps, 2 tanks, a dwarf, a support, and a troll.
I don't care if we split or don't split, though if we do split, Capsule and Scoria need to be on different teams most likely.
I'm going to fight the same way I always do, by trolling the opponent as hard as possible and sending Alraune off to go be useful. Since it's underground with Magitech and all that, I think I might speedcraft some lamps that I can quickly replace crap lighting with?

I imagine the Dwarf and the Ice Bitch would work together. Largely because as a monk he spents as much time airborn as he does on the ground (that being said, I am only going off his icesheet ability. Who doesnt want to see a dwarf on ice). That being said, Dwarf also works well with Caer.
I dont mind whether we spilt or dont spilt though, I imagine Dwarf would be on the Offtank team, since he's Dwarf. It's either that or he's in the Main team, since as the least experienced in boss battles, and presumably because the Tank team will need two tanks, a support/troll and one assassin. Unless we yolo and put two assassins in the off tank party and have three tanks, since Caer and Tob have offensive bants to their characters anyways, and Ass's are hardly squishy (See what I did there? They are nice firm pair of buns!). Plus I imagine the second team would be the more mobile, in it's blind spot sort of affar.
Even if we spilt though, wouldn''t it make sense to be in the same thread? Just group the two teams together on the initative order or something for easier reading. Either way, don't mind too much who I end up with.

I honestly don't mind just having one large thread, so that we all stay on the same page, but I can see why two smaller ones would be easier to manage. I imagine Capsule would be on the latter team, provided Scoria isn't his usual trolly self (yeah, fat chance of that happening).

I have no preference.

Eh, I'm fine with either option. If we do go the "2 threads are better than one" route, again, I don't care which side I'm on.
As far as anything else goes, all I need is a target to thrash.

Alright. So what are we agreeing on then? In terms of spilt Party? It's starting to look like:
Team One - Caer, Dwarf, Ice Bitch, Kumori/Saber
Team Two -Oxf, Capsule, Saber/Kumori.
Since Caer desires to use Dwarf as a weapon, I thought it would make sense that they would be both on the same team. The alternative is we go full tank and do....
Team 1: Caer, Ox, Ice, Kumoir/Saber
Team 2: Dwarf, Cap, Saber/Kumori.
Or even, if we went for the rock and anvil approch, with the tank team pretty much setting up the second team to get aboard the coal train.
Team 1: Ox, Cear, Dwarf, Ice Team 2: Saber and Kumori, Capsule.
Which one? Or something I not considered? PM or state which party you guys layout should be set in stone. Whatever has the most suggestions by Wednesday is most likely team we are going for the event. Sound reasonable?
By the way, it makes sense for someone other then Dwarf to start this. He has no experience in the underground so he will accompany guild buddies. Team leaders? Don't care, Tobin would probably vote for himself, because he's special that way.

I have no objections, but it's worth noting that Scoria can effectively make someone pretty much ignore a large amount of physical damage. Also he's an enabler and if my craft goes through, the light problem will be fixed. Start of thread, Scoria'll just patch up all the lights in a jiffy.
I'm starting to favor the 'all in one thread' strategy, since we'll have to pay attention to what's going on with either side anyway.

Let's go all in one, split into two teams?

I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THIS THREAD EXISTED.
I'd go for one party/thread with all the tanks in one team. Plus troll. The tank team members can take turns grabbing aggro, and the DPS team members can go bitch at each other. Plus Capsule.

Two Ass's, one Cap.
DAMMMMMMNNNNNNNN! XDDD
In all seriousness, the triple tank idea is winning with 2 votes thus far. I was saving vote incase of tiebreaker.

I'm fine with one thread. Four tanks FTW.
Random filler: Every event boss so far had a nickname. I cast my vote for "Ol' Ironsides".

Gonna go with the one-team one-dream thread. I'll operate as a support Assassin and will jump in to DPS if needed.

What level is Ol' Ironsides the Phantom Train? Or is it one of those rare event bosses where you know zilch about its stats? (Level ?? - HP: ??? / MP: ??? kind of thing?)

I think so, basically someone starts the thtread and he comes when he comes. As said, I don't want to start the thread because I don't really know this event that well, I missed out part 1 completely.

Gonna just let y'all know that I may be slow with posting this first round. I'm going to try and get a new set of gear crafted and approved before it's my turn so if necessary, I'll go last. If I can't get the claim through before everyone posts, I'll post with what I've got. Once I get my gear, however, I'll post.
