Forging a Contract: Moon Dance Village Opens!

Hiro stood up, and stretched, working the sleepiness out of his system slowly. He had been here in Moon Dance Village for quite some time now, at least 5 days, doing random odd jobs and missions for the people. But, today was the day that this would all change. Today was going to be the day that Moon Dance Village and the adventurers, represented by Hiro himself, would forge a treaty that will allow adventurers to step into the boundaries of the village, and engage in commerce, questing, and other methods that will bring prosperity to people of both places. This would also include the fact that the adventurers and people of Moon Dance Village can work together and request aid at any given point, should an emergency arise. This was basically a contract to allow the people of both sides entrance to either settlement, and the ability to converse and coexist with one another. While this could probably happen without any kind of formal document, it was nice to have some kind of formal agreement between the two, just to be safe.

Since it was a contract, after all, Hiro wasn't able to write it at all himself. Which is why he decided to call in the help of a scribe: Someone who was looking to get some experience in their crafting class, and help forge a peaceful agreement between two peoples. Granted, that last part was only a little bit of it. Despite this, though, Hiro was more than excited to go through with this, and had asked around for some help in finding a Scribe to help him out. Eventually, a scribe named @vrayne was found, and he asked this woman to help him in his endeavor. Of course, this meant that she'd probably need to walk all the way from London to here, which was a hell of a trek, but it was more than worth it, he figured. Besides, this might be a good chance to get even more people in on the Moon Dance Village idea. Allowing it to be absorbed into the protective sphere of the adventurers was probably going to be the best thing for this village that has happened in a while. They were probably looking forward to it as much as he was, if not more.

But, I'm sure the question would arise as to how and why Hirosame was a good candidate for the negotiations between the adventurers and the people of Moon Dance Village. The answer to this is two parts. First of all, Hiro had been spending a few days here in the village, and had gotten to know a lot of the people who worked and lived here. He was pretty well known throughout the village by this point, as a kind of ambassador between the peoples. The second note is that he is the leader of Apocrypha, one of the largest guilds in existence for the European server, and the name held a lot of weight. Since he was a figurehead in the reconstruction of the city for a while, has taken part in a few Field Boss battles, and has proven himself a capable ally on and off the field of battle, most adventurers would look up to him in this way. So, there really wasn't anybody else who was more fit to the task than he was. He felt a bit ashamed, thinking so highly of himself in such a way, but it was true. Hiro leaned up against one of the nearby Sakura trees, waiting for Vrayne to show up. They had some time before the meeting, so he'd try to get to know this woman a bit more. Who knows? Maybe they could walk away from here with a treaty, and a few friend, to boot? Optimism is key!

Moon Dance Village. It was the first time Vrayne had ever heard of such a village but she approached one of the People of the Land walking around asking whether or not the adventurers around London knew a scribe around. The coincidence was a bit too uncanny for the sorcerer to bite the bait at first, but after speaking with the man and receiving a brief explanation about his quest of finding a scribe, Vrayne ended up volunteering anyway. It was a great way to up her scribe level, and it wasn’t like she was exactly busy at the time, or ever, so why not? She thought with a shrug.

And indeed, the trip from London to the so-called Moon Dance Village was a quite the torture, the whole walk taking far too long and exhausting much to the green-haired’s delight and she was definitely beginning to hate this. The only good thing about the whole journey was the fact that she had a few people along with her, ensuring her safety as, as what everybody knew already, she was merely a level one. A newbie of the game who liked to jump into the opportunities for an uncalled adventure and Vrayne’s sure that this was going to be one of them. If things came at its best, she might even make a name of herself, finally save herself from sounding like nothing but a total loser within the game who does nothing but have herself killed the whole time. The trip was—is tiring, yes, but the walk was going to be worth-it in the end, for sure.

The man behind all of this, Hirosame, she believes, had already arranged beforehand for them to meet somewhere within the village, underneath a sakura tree that has the level one scribe shuddering at the thought of meeting up in such a setting. Too clichéd, too corny for her liking. She can’t possibly be too picky though, especially not when she should be thankful that she has been accepted for this task despite being an inexperienced newbie.

❝You’re Hirosame, I presume?❞ The pace of her steps slows down until it came into a full halt, now standing in front of the male with the auburn hair and emerald eyes and Vrayne held her hand out to him for an exchange of handshakes once she’s received an acknowledgement to her question, her other hand shoved within the pocket of her purple hoodie. ❝I’m Vrayne, it’s a pleasure to meet you.❞ Her tone was cold and low as usual, as though unwelcoming and tired or even angry, though that wasn’t anything to be concerned of, her voice is simply stuck in that utterly unfeminine low tone and she hoped it wouldn’t cause any misunderstanding between her and the red-haired before her. Many other players (especially PKers) did mistake it as her trying to be intimating, after all. Back to business though, the female’s hand fell back to the side after the handshake, the lower part of her face still covered with the long collar of her red jacket which she wore underneath her hoodie as she waited for the conversation to continue. To flow more naturally even. ❝There’s still time, right?❞ She began, with a glance at the village, ❝mind touring me around while explaining to me bits about the contract and what it is for?❞

Hiro wasn't kept waiting for long at all, and soon enough, @vrayne showed up before him. This girl seemed to prefer being on her own, or at least, that's what he gathered from the presence of the female. Not to mention, she definitely had the aura around her that she didn't like most other people. Well, it wasn't a good idea to judge a book by its cover, so he ignored the stereotypes that followed his assumptions based on how the girl looked. She might have been just a shy and kind person, much like Saeko was for a while. He could be wrong about that fact, though, and she's a lot more cheerful than he expected. He didn't know for sure, but was more than willing to find out over time. The female stopped a few feet before him, and extended her hand in greeting. "Yeah, call me Hiro." He said, gently taking her hand and shaking it. After a moment, he withdrew his hand, and smiled at the female. "Good to make your acquaintance, Vrayne." The female averted her eyes after asking about the time before the meeting, and what it was they were going to do.

"Sure, there's time. Hell, you can see just about everything from right here." Hiro pointed upwards without turning to face the direction himself. "Up there's the Moon Spirit, which provides light to this place, day in, day out." He paused for just a moment to let the girl examine it. "Its light isn't too bright, and can be easily looked upon by human eyes. Think of it as something like Fireworks back in the other world: Bright, but not harmful to our eyes. The village is named partially after this floating orb, giving it the name of Moon Dance Village. Next up on the list, is the Sakura Spirit." Hiro then pointed up towards the shrine on the hill, at the gigantic Sakura tree behind a small oriental shrine. "That shrine is where the people gather to pray for a good harvest, peaceful seasons, and whatever else have you. The tree is seen as the guardian spirit, giving them a protected presence, just like a tree's branches and leaves protect the ground from immense sunlight. As oriental as this village is, it's rather beautiful here." Hiro looked up to the tree, and felt a calmness wash over him as he did, the first time he saw it.

Returning his attention to Vrayne, it was about time that he go ahead and explain the situation to her. "So, the reason why we're both here is that a contract will be formed between us Adventurers and the people of this village, to promote prosperity, happiness, growth, and whatever else we decide is valid. The contract will allow the Adventurers to enter and exit the village, as well as allow villagers to enter and exit London or other player-controlled areas. This exchange will allow everybody to move freely from one place to another, and let culture spread a bit more. I'm here as the representative of the Adventurers, and you're here to make the contract, as we go along talking about it." He winced a bit, and an apologetic look appeared on his face. "I'm sorry that that's all you're here for, Vrayne. But, just think about it! You'll be the one forging the bond between two peoples, and letting everybody get further ahead in life, together!" Hopefully this little segment that he had just spouted from his face hole would give her a bit more purpose for being here.

All that having been said, there was still a bit extra time before the meeting was set to begin. "Well, we have a bit of time before the start of the thing, so is there anything else you'd like to know? Anything else you wanna see or understand about this place? Anything you need to know from or about me? Anything I should know about you?" Question after question. Hiro mentally slapped himself across the face to make him stop. If there was something important enough for her to tell him, she'd tell him. If there was something she needed to know about from him, he'd tell her. That's just how it's going to work. Asking questions one after the other wasn't going to get anybody any further. So, for now, they would probably just need to wait for things to get moving soon enough. However, there was still half an hour before the meeting, which was plenty of time to go anywhere in the village, since it was so small a place. If she wanted to see anything, he could pretty much take her wherever she wanted to go. He'd leave that up to her own discretion, though, and just remained silent for now.
