AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It has been made aware to us recently that newer members have been met with a number of guild recruitment messages early in their time here, some before they've even submitted an application in the registration thread. While guild recruitment is by no means an illegal offense, it is in poor taste to immediately bring new members into a guild before they have even settled into the forum. We are a friendly and nurturing community and wish for our members to figure out what they want for themselves in time. That is why it has been decided by the Log Horizon staff to create a rule regarding guild recruitment.
No Guild may actively try and recruit a member who has not been here any less than two weeks. This grace period is for new members to figure out what they want to do with their character, look around and see what guilds are out there, and decide for themselves with no outside influence who they wish to throw their hat in with. Any guild members who violate this rule must be reported immediately and action will be taken against them. If a new member wishes to join a guild before the two week grace period expires, they are welcome to, but pressing new members to join your guild will not be tolerated.
Violators of this grace period will be met with a severe penalty. We emphasize that this will be a GUILD WIDE penalty so listen close, engrave it in your hearts. IF your guild is caught violating this rule, the penalty is removal of all guild AP bonuses for one week. If you are caught continuing to break this rule a second time, the penalty will be two weeks. Three for a third time. They stack. You break the rule three times, you will have essentially crippled your guild benefits for a month.
We ask you please take this matter seriously as it effects all of us.
