Saproth would have wanted to scream, “We fight in the shade!” for comic relief as arrows flew at them earlier, if not for the head injury he had sustained from the primary surprise attack. Pitch darkness concealed the attack which rendered them unable to retaliate if not instantly.
Still dazed and confused, Saproth still had the self-awareness to roll himself any way to avoid more damage from the falling rocks as big as a grown Orc. As he tried to roll away, he rolled only another body he wasn’t sure who’s, only that they both needed help. Saproth tried to push the body with him to roll away.
It was only moments ago when he was filled with optimism realizing in confidence that a squad of their size was too big to defeat so easily. Counting a number of average to veteran members, it was so far from his mind that they would be encountering such a blunder so fast. It was also the same time Saproth felt uneasy with the looks Saskai have been throwing his way, like a mother looking out for a child... which Saproth thought was weird since she already knew that they might be if not the same age, he might be even older in the real world. This made him uneasy but on second thought, he didn’t mind counting on ‘extra care’ being relatively new to this world and all.
He was also hoping that judging from the stench of the crevasse that there were trying to fit into, that there would at least be some flora he could collect along the way to improve his and OG Loc’s pharmacist abilities.
Through the pain, Saproth also wondered if these sensations of ‘daze’ and ‘confusion’ as the game preserves them were specifically meant for game characters to experience or simply a by-product of real people being pulled into a game and having to experience the same effects that follow blunt damage.
But this was no time to wonder, Saproth thought, they were all in risk of death, and it seemed a number of them have already gone that way. Only now he realized what they were up against as he heard someone yelling, “KOBOLDS!” the race more efficiently known for tricks, traps and ambush, as they were all experiencing at the moment.
But if Saproth’s memory hasn’t been damaged by the head trauma, he remembered Kobolds are easily frightened... by anything if he remembered correctly.
