Five feet, ten inches dead, weighing in at a hundred and twelve pounds, three ounces, of mostly muscle, and with a slim, but quite toned body and little, barely c-cup peaches. The most striking things about her that are made obvious would be her pale skin tone, that would look fit on an albino, and her bright, silver-gray eyes, that seem to shine in the light just a little. However, the oddest and most startling things are shown only in certain circumstances. From the base of her neck, and from just past her shoulders, down to about mid-thigh are a collection of scars, several of them rather striking, and most permanent markings on her otherwise unblemished skin. The majority are about 1-2 inches in length, and some curve slightly as well, and several cross over one another. The other, comes in the form of her tattoo, which spans from about halfway down her back to just over her rear, and takes the form of a black rose symbol, highly detailed and while marred slightly by her scars, is still as close to it's original print as possible. Her hair tends to change it's color often, but the style remains the same cut. Ruby also likes her armor, but if she isn't wearing something like that then she likes a quilted jacket and plain trousers. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] Ruby's personality is a layered, multifaceted crystal, reflecting a different bit to a different person. She seems to be, at her base, a reserved, shy girl who tends to keep herself away from most people unless approached first. In-game, this is why she prefers a class who can solo, so she doesn't have to rely on others. Used to harsh criticism and even harsher punishments for failure, Ruby is a little jumpy when other people try to correct her, and while she knows that they're just trying to help, sixteen years of abuse haven't taught her to accept anything less than perfection. Ruby is shy to make friends, and has very little social skills outside of what she was taught due to her social class, meaning that she has a hard time 'loosening up.' In those rare times she does, though, she's very excitable and joyful, all that a hyperactive sixteen year old should be. When she isn't, she prefers to try and keep her head level, though if she misses a deadline she will definitely freak out about it. If something is set for her as a deadline, she'll do her best to meet it, and it doesn't matter to her how much she completes each short term period, as long as she finishes on time or early at the end. Ruby also possesses a high intelligence, and while she's not exactly sympathetic or empathetic to most people, she can at least gather basic understandings of what someone is feeling based on observable factors and adjust her behavior accordingly. Having had no real friends either, she's quick to accept them when offered, though her reserved nature tends to lead most people to leave her be. Which, to her, is ok, because nothing was ever given to her, leading her to expect that she deserves whatever misfortune comes her way. Even with her flaws, Ruby likes a variety of hobbies and knows how to keep herself entertained, enjoying singing, kendo, and drawing, especially of the firearms that her late biological mother had introduced her into the world of. Before the game, it wasn't uncommon to see Ruby surrounded by textbooks, balled up pieces of paper, and at least four different notebooks, and a tablet computer all at once. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] The best is the only acceptable path. That's how ruby was raised, or at least, in theory. In reality, the girl was born to a high class family who'd moved to London from America. Having a mother who was rarely home and consistently traveling to some far off place as a corporate executive for a firearms company, and a father who often drank too much and gambled the money he had inherited from Ruby's grandmother away on the stock market resulted in a rather lonesome childhood for the girl, as instead of being enrolled in a private academy or even a public school, she was home-tutored, always desiring the praise and attention of her parents, though she rarely got it. When she did get attention, it was usually in the form of beatings by her father, in an attempt to make her 'not stupid' as he'd put once, in basic, babyish terms. Even so, she was driven to the attention of her mother, consistently trying to impress her in hopes that she would give her the parental affection Ruby so desired. Sadly, her mother ended up passing away far before Ruby could ever catch her eye, due to a series of unfortunate events, leaving the young girl in the total custody of her father, who in all honesty wanted nothing to do with her. Just a few months after her biological mother's death, her father remarried, angering the then seven year old Ruby even further against her father. Her stepmother was just as abusive to Ruby physically, and even more strict upon her, even going to far as to pick out which courses she was to be tutored in and forcing her into kendo training against Ruby's will. This turned out to be a small blessing in disguise, leading the girl to find one of the few things she enjoyed. The patient, no-mistakes nature of the sport, or at least, how it was taught to her, matched so flawlessly with how she'd been raised that she was almost a prodigy, going on to win tournaments which, for the first time in years, managed to put smiles on her face. This also wasn't to last, as her father decided to take her out of said classes, saying that she had no reason to be using his money for such a thing. The beatings from her parents she received almost daily had become even more coordinated, and even went so far as to result in the use of other things besides just fists, including going so far as to whip or lash her for a mistake. To her parents, any sign of failure or weakness, any flaw in their daughter, was a crack to use and abuse in order to rid themselves of their own failures and sadness. In what spare time Ruby had, she enjoyed playing online games, seeing it as the only way she'd ever get to be a 'normal' girl and have actual friends. Her favorites tended towards RTS and MMORPG, leading her to discover Elder Tale and several other games. She even preferred the same class that she thought fit her best- Samurai, incorporating strategy and high power into a tanky build that could hold it's own, on it's own. To her ,that was simply the perfect combination. She played it simply, just like she did in her real life, though she did at least make an attempt to be social. Now that she's in the game, she's adjusting, slowly, to being treated like a person as opposed to how it had once been. To her, being in a new world might just be her second try at life.
