This morning I had heard news of other players going around and PKing others and taking what was theirs for themselves, though we still fortunately revive at the cathedral, stuff like this shouldn't be happening. People shouldn't be casually murdered or extorted for their hard earned materials and gold, and those who say they can just respawn are just excusing the actions of these people. Although now that I think of it everyone was really down in the slumps, moping around, and very few are actually doing anything productive, and fewer are doing things productive for society. Finally I realized that people are just dealing with this situation however they want to because they have no drive, no goals, not even common law. All of us had that luxury in the real world and now it's gone and people don't know how to deal with it, finally I said to myself enough is enough, people need order, people need goals and they need them now. But how would people be able to do that? How would ordinary guys playing games be able to create a functioning legal system from scratch? And most importantly how would it be able to be implemented? Then I told myself enough with the how's, I need to focus on what I can do, and what can be benifitial to everyone around me. Then my stomach started growling "*sigh* another meal of nothingness again" so I then went out to find the cheapest food but then something came to mind, "if this is now a real world can't we make food manually?" But then I realized that I never cooked my own food ever, in fact I probably wouldn't know where to start, but I finally bloody realized that there is a subclass of chef in this game, so then and there I looked around and tried asking people if they knew anyone with the subclass of chef, and I finally found one chef........ who was level 2. Safe to say I would still have to eat tasteless food for a while, and as I bought my tasteless food, crying while eating it, someone came up to me and asked if I was the one asking around for someone with a chef subclass. I answered him "Yes, do you happen to be a chef? And if so what's your level?" and this stranger replied saying his skill was level 40 and how his level would matter right now. Then and there I told him that if he cooked a meal manually, without this interface, we could actually have some god damned flavor in our food, because all the ingredients still have flavor. This stranger considered this and said that he thinks it might work but tells me not to expect any miracles, so he takes me to his house (HOW DOES ONE HAVE A HOUSE THIS EARLY!?) and starts trying to cook a basic breakfast of eggs and sausage. This man asks me to see what I think of this once it's finished and now the time has come to see if my theory was correct, I immediately see that it looks exactly how it should and also smells like it should, very good signs so far. Finally unable to bear scrutinizing it any longer I take a bite of each........ "GOOD LORD I AM SO HAPPY, IT ACTUALLY IS FRICKEN FOOD!" and as I eat it all down I thank him for trusting me on this and giving me the opportunity to eat real food again after a long excruciating day. Then I finally ask for this kind man's name and he says "Dan Springer" and I look at his status..... and I was quite a bit shocked there, seeing that his status said "Person of the Land" and I suddenly was absolutely sure that this is an actual alternate dimension, that just so happens to be exactly like the game I was playing, "Elder Tales". Dan finally notices my shocked and thinking expression and asks me "What's wrong?" which I reply with "Nothing really, what I'm interested in is just who exactly are you Dan, I mean it's natural to learn about someone you trust right?" with which he positively replies to me and starts telling me about himself and how he used to live in a large farmhouse with friends, relatives, and even strangers coming by for the cooking and a nice friendly chat. As he continues to explain he tells me about a person he admired and had a crush on, who just happened to be the cook of that household, and to get closer to her he started his career as a chef and started cooking to win the heart of the person he loved. Finally he stopped and told me that he was to embarrassed to say anything more about this I ask him "Would it also be okay if I told you about my life, to keep ourselves on equal footing and to not be embarrassed?" with which he replies "Sure, go ahead, I would also like to learn more about you friend." and then I start to tell him who I am starting with "My name is Tremora Veritain and I am an adventurer, others call me DeathNaught." I did not need to be socially adept to be able to see the shock on his face, and he seemed to visibly pale a slight bit, saying that he had no idea I was an adventurer because he said all of them seem to have no emotion. This fact shocked me, and it also seemed to tell me no matter the fact that this is a real world, it was influenced by gamers constantly, yet they had no actual awareness into this world until now. Trying to think of a way to explain my shock right now to him, as he picked up on it, I blurted out saying adventurers are from another dimension, which seemed to greatly pale, and scare him. Now clumsily, I kept on trying to tell him I'm sorry for scaring him, and fortunately, he sensed my honesty and seemed to greatly relax, and he decided to ask me what my life was like, aside from the being in another dimension part of course, and then I thoroughly told my life story to him, and he was a bit taken aback from the fact that I was a wealthy child with a great mind and grades, along with the fact about the country I lived in, and specifically the place I lived in, which just so happened to look exactly like a dungeon, the Windsor Castle. With this startling fact in mind I realized the equivalent to my home in this world in overrun with infinentely spawning monsters, with this in mind I take my stuff and right before I head out to the Windsor Greatwood he tells me that it's suicide trying to go there, and I responded saying that I accept that but I need to see it and I also need to level myself in preparation for eventually going there, and saying that he didn't need to worry about my wellbeing also, because adventurers don't die. With that I left my friend Dan Springer and went to train and get materials, gold, and experience to prepare myself, and as I went there I started to decimate the local Dull Green Slimes, trying to keep on doing what I need to do I kept on destroying them with Magi Lightning, Grand Fall. After I felt a tad exhausted and quite hungry I saw my friend Dan Springer coming to me on the road back, offering me some fresh cooked egg sandwiches, and then I started eating with him, talking about stuff since both our nerves have long since cooled, which made talking about surprising stuff a lot easier. Finally Dan continued with his story and I was quite sad to hear that by the time he was about to confess his feelings to the one he loved, she replied saying she was flattered but was already engaged with the one she loved, who just so happened to be Dan's best friend. With this in mind Dan said that he broke his friendship up and decided to head to the capital for some better opportunities. That was so saddening that I cried for him, realizing his willingness to open up to me, and also realizing that I had actually made a connection with Dan, somewhat akin to actual friendship, and with Dan realizing this too he decided to comfort me. After the talk we had I realized that he probably is as intelligent as I am and also as alone, with this in mind he accompanied me back to the capital and we did some errands and chores at his house. As I was about to leave for the night to stay at the previous inn, he offered me a room in his house to at least sleep in, with this display of friendship I just couldn't say no and graciously accepted his offer, with this I happily stayed the night in my new friend's house, now with a smile instead of a frown, and looking forward to the new day at the end of the night.
