Spectre had decided to go solo the whole day. After all, he was someone who felt most comfortable when he was playing the game alone. While it is fun to breeze through the lower level monsters as a group, it gets boring soon. He needed to feel the adrenaline that rushes through his body when he is outnumbered. Also, he needed to know how much he can handle alone. It was always a good idea to know one’s limits.
Still in his basic gear—which he was not at all comfortable with—he walked out of Londonium district and towards the large valley, Windsor Greatwood. Reading the map, he saw that he had to cross this large valley in order to get the next region, which is the Sarum Frontier. He figured it wouldn’t be easy to cross this alone but he was determined to do so. Even if it takes longer than it would take if he parties up with people, it doesn’t matter. The feeling of accomplishment when he achieves this alone would make him forget all the perils that he may endure during this task.
Spectre was meaning to read about the beasts he might encounter in this region the previous night; but he got lazy and slept off instead. It didn’t bother him though. Even if he dies, he’s just going to respawn back at Londonium. And it’s not like he has progressed much into the game to care about penalties. As usual, his carefree self was taking the whole thing as casually as possible.
Within few minutes, Spectre realized that he is not going to encounter anything anytime soon if he is going to follow the main road. “Where’s the fun in that?” he asked himself with a smirk and walked into the fields. He hoped he gets lucky and finds some low level beast to test his mettle on. And guess what? He did get lucky. A lone Level 1 Young Pittered Boar had wandered away from its elder counterparts and is grazing the field. Spectre couldn’t say whether the young boar noticed him or not. It continued to eat the grass without showing any kind of reaction to his presence.
With a wide grin, he unsheathed his dual long swords and started inching towards his target. He activated his Silent Move skill offered by the Tracker subclass to ensure the young boar doesn’t flee. The skill, unfortunately, reduces his movement speed; but it was worth it. The poor boar did not see what was coming to it until the last moment. When Spectre was close enough, he used the Mirage Dealer skill. His body lunged forward and he slashed an X at the Young Pittered Boar with both his swords, sending it staggering back. And the attack did not end there. He then almost instantly moved behind his target. With his quick, instinctive reflex, he swiftly turned around and slashed at the boar again. The young boar fell and breathed its final breath with a confused look.
