The girl had taken a hammer with her, and decided that she would make use of something that she had learned about recently. An event of sorts where one person, higher up in the guild chain of command, was asking for a bunch of people to get to work on constructing rail roads, as they had purchased the right to a plot of land within the city, and wanted to make it into a station, where trains would be able to enter and exit the city from. In order for them to be able to operate in different parts of the current server, though, construction needed to be done on the rails themselves, as she imagined that they were rather run down and could no longer be used. As ironic enough as it is, a level 1 Blacksmith was going to fix some railroads. She had heard of a campsite, where some construction was being done, and decided that she might as well try and get some on-hand experience, as well as make some money while doing what she could. It would probably be a sight to behold that a Shaman, clad in plate armor, was holding a hammer, and wanted to do some blacksmithing. She was more than prepared to take insults, though she would not give the ones doing the insulting much of any mind. Their thoughts were not important to her, and only those of people who would help her mattered. Though, there would be the ever-present problem of her not really wanting to talk much for herself, having only done so a few times during the Brachyura fight, when she had fused with her shikigami that she no longer held. Talking would be a problem. All of this, Royah kept in the back of her mind. She proceeded to walk into the camp and go through to the railroad itself. It seemed that the people working at the campsite were already making some very good progress, and that the people working there must know about what they were doing. She would stand there and observe others for the time being, watching how they go about making certain things. She wanted to work on the roads themselves, though it might do her some good to learn how to make many other things as well. But, once she was in the camp, she very quickly found herself to be lost. Showing a little bit of panic on her face, she started to wander around aimlessly, hoping that she would find someone or something to help her find out where she was, and how she could get over to the rails themselves, so she could set up a small tent or something to fix tools, armor, or even work on the railroad itself. Until then, though, one would see a shorter girl wandering around, with a slightly worried face upon her. Word Count: 482 Words/482 Words Tag: Capsule

[attr="class","solcap"] There was another event going on now, though there was no combat involved in this one, unless people felt the need to be violent. There was no time travel either, or a group of mysterious Landers to contend with. No; this was a simple commerce event, in which trains were heavily involved. Technological advancements in this world greatly interested Capsule, especially when it involved technology. Thanks to Hiro and his guild, she might have an easier time of shipping her wares now -- not to mention she could just take a train, rather than suffer saddle soreness from her Crystal Reindeer. As much as she liked looking cool (literally, as well as figuratively), Capsule also valued comfort. Her polar bear made for a better mount than the reindeer, but there was still the issue of proper seating to consider, nor did Aleksei fancy being ridden everywhere. And Bosco... assuming she was allowed to bring dogs on board, the poor pup would not have to suffer walking or being slung over the back of a much larger beast.
Capsule was also shamelessly biased in where she wanted to help. Sarum and Avon appealed more to her than the other areas, chiefly because she owned property in one, and still had some business to conduct in Avon. London would also be teeming with the bulk of the volunteer force, so it made no sense to add further clutter. There was also the issue of inexperienced Adventurers hurting themselves, and she could only imagine how hectic the larger work sites could get. Working with a smaller number of people who were more likely to know what they were doing suited her best.
At the campsite, Capsule was in the process of setting up a large white tent, a red cross stitched into the front. Doing this by hand was a pain, and as someone who rarely, if ever, used them, Capsule was going nowhere fast. Frustrated, she left her bear to deal with the collapsed fabric. Poor Aleksei was doing his best to help, but she needed someone with thumbs, not thickly furred paws. There were plenty of well erected tents scattered around the camp, so she figured someone would be able to help her.
The woman paused, distracted by the sight of a small figure wandering around aimlessly. Almost by instinct now, Capsule brought up the short girl's basic information; a low leveled Shaman by the name of Royah. She looked lost, too. Blacksmithing could be dangerous, and this area had some nasty monsters that could really crush a low leveled Adventurer. The trouble of the tent was put on the back burner for now, as Capsule cautiously approached the Shaman.
"Hallo." She held up a hand in a small wave, once she was at a close distance. "You look lost." That was Capsule -- straight to the point. "Were you looking for the construction site?" The train event was kind of a big deal, so Capsule could assume the girl was looking to help out, and not just out exploring the landscape. Shocked and surprised, the girl quickly turned around, as she heard a voice from nearby, letting out a little squeak as she did this. A woman, taller than her, had spoken to her. She was just thinking about trying to head in the direction of where the work was being done, though she absolutely did not want to deal with a large number of people insulting her due to her size. Yeah, what she thought earlier about not caring about what people say? That was a bit of a lie, because if she did not get any positive recognition, then she would not get any work done. That would be horrible for her and her possibilities of working here, as well as helping out with the train road construction. She wanted to turn around and run away, but this woman seemed to be just a bit as cautious as she was. "A... Ahh..." She stuttered a bit, trying to find the words to say. She was still standing in a surprised fashion, and she caught herself in the act of it. She quickly tried to assume a more natural looking stance, though it came across as rather forced. "Yes... I am a bit... lost." She said, in a silent tone. She didn't know how exactly to portray herself in this given scenario, as normally she wouldn't have been caught off guard in such a way. She felt stupid for acting like a child in this regard, despite the fact that she is only a teenager at this point. She wanted to explain what her exact problem was, but that wouldn't help at all. If this person didn't know what they were doing either, then she would be definitely lost, and even more lost, with someone else who had no idea what they needed to do. That would likely be a bad thing. In that moment, though, Royah noticed the incredible difference between their two levels. This person was really high up there! Maybe she could help her out... "I would like to work on either the railroad itself, or work in constructing and fixing tools." She said, plainly. Immediately afterward, she stood up straight, and bowed low to the woman. "Could you perhaps take me somewhere where I can set up a tent and begin working on various tools?" She stayed in the bowing posture for as long as she would need to, until either this woman told her to buzz off or help her out. Whichever happened first, she would likely get an answer or two. It was at this moment, though, that she realized that she hadn't spoken quite this much in a long time. Weird that she only speaks this much when just meeting new people. This thought pertained in her mind for a little while, or, at least, it would. Word Count: 474 Words/956 Words Tag: Capsule

[attr="class","solcap"] The girl reacted in a way that Capsule may have last year. She was much more shyer and less certain back then, but had since gained a bit of confidence. Most of her problems centered around her social awkwardness, brought on by her own isolation from society. Spending too much time around animals or monsters, and not enough near humans, was having a greater adverse effect than she feared. People were so bothersome, though… it was easier to be around beings that had no interest in pleasantries like small talk or conversation.
Capsule did her best to give a comforting smile to the nervous girl. This was not easy for either of them, so the least she could do was appear comforting -- no matter what her default expression said. Inwardly, she sighed in relief when the girl expressed interest in assisting the railroad construction. That was a nasty bit of business the woman had no desire or means of helping in; the most she would be able to do was some cleaning or digging, whichever was easiest for someone of her class choice. "Yeah, I can… Oh." Royah was bowing. As far as Capsule knew, that was a formal thing to do if you were Asian.
A little self-conscious now, the Enchanter could not help but adjust her posture until she was standing tall, and not with the typical slouch of the shoulders. "I know where they are set up, yes. You can uh, straighten up now," she said, when it did not seem Royah would pop up anytime soon. It was strange not being the odd one out for once. Whether it was crashing through the abbey wall while riding a golem into a wedding, or spooking little necromancers with her realistic goat mask, Capsule found it effortless to ruin a first impression.
Assuming Royah was done with her bow, Capsule would go through the motions of helping her out. Other than dealing with her utter failure of a tent, she had no prior engagements. No one had gotten hurt (yet), and most of the workers were the sort to only ask for medical care as an excuse to flirt with the Enchanter. It had happened twice already, but her darling Snowfield Bear scared the men away with ease. "It is actually not that far away from here, but unless you were flying overhead, you would not be able to see them." She was on the move now, but keeping her gait at a pace Royah could keep up with.
There was a neat circle of large tents further down, spread out in a wide circumference. One of the tents boasted smithing supplies, ranging from small carts to an assortment of tools. Another tent was manned by chefs and brewers, to provide the workers with drinks and refreshments. In the thick of the circle, groups of Adventurers were going to and fro, arms laden with iron or wielding pickaxes and hammers. This was where the heart of the work was, but the less social workers had spread out on their own, beyond the main area and snaking away towards other areas.
"I think this part is for the station, actually, but everyone else is working on the road itself." She pointed at the tent with the supplies. "Even if you think you have everything, it might be a good idea to double check. We can find a suitable working location afterwards." Capsule did not know the first thing about blacksmithing, but it could not hurt to try, right? Her back straightened right up as the woman before her said that she would be available to help. Her expression was neutral, and showed no real difference in emotional state. Inside, though, Royah was thanking this girl profusely. For the sake of not trying to seem annoying, though, she refrained from giving any outward emotion that would portray such an emotion. Emotion, emotion, too many things pertaining to emotions. Either way, though, she began to follow the woman, who seemed to be so kind enough as to slow her pace down so the shaman could keep up. It was nice to know that the place she was looking for was moderately hard to find, unless one flew over this cuckoo's nest. Wait. Flight? Was such a thing possible in this world right now? She began to get excited about the concept. Just a little while later, though, they had come to a circular area of tents, where she assumed a large number of people were working on crafting. Her eyes began to shimmer a bit, as she walked over toward one of the stalls that held a bunch of blacksmithing items. There didn't appear to be anybody at the station, though she figured that if it was there for people to work with, then this stuff was all free reign, right? This thought in her mind, she began to gather up a whole bunch of materials that she would need. Metals, plates, nails, and absolutely anything else she would need for crafting items, repairing them, and maintaining other things. Eventually, she came to have a large pile of stuff in her arms, as she teetered back to the lady nearby her. Her head was still visible over the rubbish, though, and a very victorious grin appeared on her face. She offered a thumbs up to the lady, signifying that she was all set to go. She would still be able to see where the lady went, though, probably. To make things better for herself, though, she put a small amount of coinage on the counter of the vacant storage facility, to help pay for whatever might not be able to be taken. Given that nobody else was there, she figured that it was within her rights to take what she needed. Besides, if she had to have permission to take them, then she would have asked. But since nobody was there, she would make tools and armor out of the stuff she took, and then give them back to the place. It was a win-win for both sides. She got the experience, they got some money, and they'll have more items as a result. What could go wrong with this deal? Word Count: 451 Words/1397 Words Tag: Capsule

[attr="class","solcap"] Capsule could not help but notice how impassive and silent Royah was being. It did not bother her, but was more of a relief than anything. Small talk was something Capsule hated doing. It just seemed so damn pointless, and Royah certainly did not strike her as the talkative sort. So why even bother pressing the issue? 'Comfortable silences are so much better,' she thought as Royah collected tools and material. Looked like she had turned out to be in need of supplies, after all. That pile, though…
The Enchanter gave the Shaman a thumbs up in return, eyes not straying from the precarious pile loaded in her arms. If Aleksei were here, she might have offered to let the girl use him as a pack mule. That stuff looked kind of heavy, and the girl was wearing plate armor. She could also be used to the heavy weight, who knows? Capsule just knew that she would barely be able to manage at that level; Enchanters had low strength stats, and she had never had much in the way of upper body strength, even though she participated in free running.
For the sake of Royah's arms, Capsule sopped tarrying and led the girl away from the large circle of tents. She was leading her closer to where she had set up shop, a decent distance from the main procession, but not too far away that it would be a hassle to reach in a crisis. Besides, she had planned to do some supervision when she was not stocking up on potions. The best way to treat an injury was to prevent it in the first place. But first, she had to see about getting her tent erected…
As she passed her pitiful heap of a tent, the head of her polar bear poked out from under a flap. The bear briefly sized Royah up, before determining that she was not a threat, and pulled his head back under. "This is a good spot." She had stopped a good distance from her tent, in an area that was decently isolated from other Adventurers. Walls made for good neighbors, and tents were poor substitutes, making distance valuable. "You will find that less people will harass you over here." That was mostly thanks to Capsule being at a higher level than most of the scrubs out here, and the presence of a protective, ten foot tall and twelve hundred pound polar bear. "If you need anything, don’t be afraid to ask." She may not be a blacksmith, but Capsule had plenty of advice to give, should Royah need it. The girl followed the lady to a point, until she saw a mangled attempt at a tent, and then suddenly a bear stuck its head out. She was confused by the sight, but the bear went back inside before much longer. Cocking her head to the side, she was about to question the existence of such a thing, but felt it better to let sleeping dogs lie. Or, bears. She would have to do something about the tent, though, as it was a wreck. But that would be for later. Royah continued to follow the enchanter, to a point that seemed to be out of the way of most things. Dropping all the items that she had brought with her on the ground very loudly, she started to look over the plot. She zipped around it all, sizing it all up as she went around, just to make sure that it was what she needed it to be. After having looked over it thoroughly, she turned to face the enchanter, before nodding at her last statement. The shaman walked right over and started to set up the tent masterfully. Back when she was in the real world, she used to go camping a lot with friends, as they really liked the outdoors. Royah was almost always in charge of setting up the tents, since she was generally pretty good at it. It seemed to have gone up rather quickly, and she started to bring in all the supplies that she had stolen borrowed from the stand just a little ways away. The first thing she would need to do was set up a table. A sturdy enough one for her to work with. Running back out of the tent with her slightly arms behind herself, she ran back to the stand form before, and picked up a few things in her inventory. Royah ran back to the place where she had started to set up, with the broken down tent nearby. She looked at it again, confused. Shoving it off to a side in her mind, she opened up her inventory once again at the tent. "Bwa ha!" She exclaimed happily, as a whole furnace and an anvil appeared just outside of the tent, both making very loud thuds as this happened. A powerfully triumphant smile appeared on the girl's face, but then her mind clicked back to the tent from earlier. Before she could even start doing her own work, she needed to make sure that everybody else was able to do their work, too. She looked at the tent for a bit longer, before deciding to run over to it, and looked it over some more. Picking up one of the sides of the tent, she started to move it around, though found herself being lost in how it was all folded up like this already. She let go of it again, and continued to look it over. Word Count: 490 Words/1887 Words Tag: Capsule

[attr="class","solcap"] After leaving Royah to get started on her own tasks, Capsule turned back to the mess that was her tent. If her brothers were here, they would have whipped it into shape by now. The lucky sods got to go camping and hiking, whereas Capsule was either too young or deemed too much of a burden to bring along. The former was a really bogus excuse on their part, since even small children could enjoy the thrill of camping out under the stars. She sucked in a deep breath and slowly let it out. This sucked.
Royah, on the other hand, had managed to set her tent up with an ease and speed that Capsule envied. «Come on, Aleksei. You hold this section up.» She gestured for the bear to sit in the middle of the tent, and hold it up as far as he could without pulling it free from the ground. Capsule stared dubiously at the tent draped bear, a small hammer and peg in her hands. All she had to do was stretch the fabric out and hammer the corners down, right? She vaguely recalled trying to set up a tent during the Sarum exploration event. That had went horribly; her tent ended up being propped up by a stick, and could only be entered by crawling flat on her belly. Sitting up would have knocked it over, too, so she only ventured into the tent to sleep or rest.
She was untangling one end of the tent when Royah returned from a brief trip to the main area. It would have been better to ask for some assistance, but a bit of pride prevented her from doing so. Then again, she must look silly, obviously struggling to set up her tent. Thankfully, Royah came over on her own accord, to poke at the heap of loose fabric. "My wilderness survival skills are mostly reserved for herbalism." Capsule laughed, albeit nervously. Starting with a large tent might not have been a bright idea.
"Uh, if you don’t mind helping, we could probably set this up faster." With Royah's help, the odds of failure would be drastically lowered. The girl had thumbs, after all; Aleksei would just make a bigger mess if he did anything but sit there and hold up the midsection. 'Igloos are less cumbersome than tents.' She knew for a fact that she could construct one of those, since it just involved packing snow in place. This was the lady's tent? Really? The one with the bear in it? Why? That seemed far too weird for this person who seemed to wonderfully normal, if a little shy and reserved. Nothing that she had a problem with, though, since the girl herself was also of that mindset from time to time. Granted, this time to time time-frame was generally a lot of the time, though she paid it not much mind a lot of the time. Too much time being said and used. Royah decided that she would fix up this sloppy tent, despite who owned it. So, she started to fix up the sides a little bit more. She had cut in front of the lady a little bit, but she paid no mind. She didn't bump into her or anything, but she did happen to get a little close. Hopefully the lady didn't mind. That being said, she straightened out the sides. Afterwards, she looked at the lady, pointing at the point where the stake would go in the ground. "Put the stake in there for now, and hammer it in." Having just one side in for the moment wasn't the end of the world, and it actually helped make things go along a little easier. Since this was a larger tent, she figured that this would take a little more effort to make it up in time. Again with the time. Dammit. Hopefully the lady had put in the stake, as Royah crawled into the small tent, and started to poke up the wooden poles up and into the ground. There were a good number of them, thanks to this being such a massive tent. But, that didn't mean that she had much of a problem. Besides, she had a person and an animal to help her. She looked over to the bear, and pointed to the poles on the opposite side. "Please make sure those don't fall down, Mr. Bear."While the two of them were working inside, probably, she called out to the lady. "Hey, lady person! You can start putting in the rest of the stakes now!" Probably the rudest thing she had said all day, and she would probably regret it, but she hadn't given Royah her name yet. Despite the fact that Royah should have given her own name first, she brushed the thought off to the side. Once the stakes on the outside portion of where she stood was up, she walked over and began to put up the wooden pole in the middle of the tent, which gave it the iconic look from outside. The girl walked outside, and started to look at the lady, putting up her thumb. She ran back over to her own tent, and started to arrange things on her table that she had borrowed, looking through everything she wanted to use up first. [attr="class","solcap"] Trying not to look too dumbfounded, Capsule watched as Royah scuttled around the tent. Aleksei made a face as the Shaman poked, prodded, and straightened out the sides of the tent. Once, she cut a little too close to Capsule, who reflexively leaned out of the girl's way. Capsule felt like she was in the way, but she could hardly step away and preoccupy her time with something else; this was her tent, after all. Royah was only helping.
The Shaman pointed out a section of the ground for Capsule to drive a stake into. But wasn’t she supposed to like, do that through part of the tent? She stole a glance at Royah's tent. It had stakes, too, but… The realization made her want to slap herself on the forehead. The stakes were there for the sake of rope, to tie and anchor the individual pieces together. No wonder her tent had not stayed up. "All right," she said, her tone of voice coming across as distant. She kneeled down and pressed the pointed end of the stake into the ground.
While Capsule hammered in the stake, Royah had wiggled into the tent with Aleksei. The bear narrowed his eyes at the girl and her little poles. He could probably make them fall just by roaring at them, or with one good puff of breath, like that wolf from the story with the pigs in houses. Just like the pigs, the tiny human was possessive of her frail abode of twigs. She had made it a point to turn to Aleksei and gesture at that side of the tent. The bear gave a soft snort in agreement. He would flatten this cloth house at a later date.
Outside of the tent, Capsule paused as she was referred to as "lady person." It dawned on her then that the two of them had not formally exchanged names. That was something normal people did when they first met each other, but Capsule saw little point in doing so. She was so used to the interface by now, that she could effortlessly access information on other players. It was difficult at some point, but working as a field monitor gave her plenty of practice. That and a lot of soloing.
"The name is Capsule," she hollered back. Note to self: introduce yourself in the beginning. How rude had it made her look to gloss over one of the basic human rituals? Too late to lament on that now. She went along one side, adding in the stakes and hitching them to their respective ropes. Soon enough, half of the tent was standing tall by the time she reached the other side. The middle of it was no longer being held by the bear, but by a wooden pole. Now this was how a tent should look.
Aleksei lumbered out of the tent with Royah, looking relieved to be done with the tedious work. She would have to make it up to him later. Capsule gave Royah a little thumbs up in return, and then lowered her hand as the girl ran back to her own tent. "Thanks…" Tent making in the future should be a breeze. For now, she wanted to focus on a bit of crafting. With the hard part of the way, Capsule went about setting up a small campfire for a kettle. The girl never responded with her own name, because she figured that Capsule would have seen it already. The interface with her own name would have appeared right in her face, and since Royah was a bit smaller than the lady, then she would have had to look up even higher to find the name. At least, that's how she figured it would work. That would be her lie, and that is what she would stick to. Anyways, the girl would now have to actually do some blacksmithing things, such as tempering items and making new things out of them. Which was exactly why she had had the furnace and anvil there now. She started to look at it all rather funnily, since she had barely any idea how to even attempt to make anything out of this crap. Well, time to look up the skill list, to see what she could do. So, it seemed as though she only knew the most basic of basics for now, and that was just making a weapon or armor out of the stuff she had had before herself. For the time being, that would be a rather good place to start off. Royah began to take an old weapon, and started to hammer it, as an overlay of damaged parts began to appear on her vision. She made a little noise, sounding impressed by this thing, and began to lightly tap the parts that were bent and out of shape. Nothing too hard about this part, mostly because she had to learn from the start and work her way up from the bottom. She would start from the bottom, and somehow keep the whole team from being there, as it were. Her idea of making a new weapon at some point today, as well as some armor for herself, would have to come with time, and she wanted to make sure she got it right. What better way to do that than messing up other peoples' weapons and armor? She continued to hit the weapon, while trying also to make sure that she could appropriately fix it up, before she decided that she would need to heat it up and temper the weapon. She hadn't seen people do this before, though it made sense that she could start here. With the furnace already burning somehow, she supposed thanks to the magic of the inventory, she started to put it inside, to let it heat up a little bit. She waited. And waited. And waited. And waited a little more, because she took it back out, flipping it over, and waited some more. A bunch of waiting was needed for this, huh? Kinda dumb, but hey, if she was going to make it right, she might as well start with the hard way. Then, from there, she could just use the game's system to make crafting much easier for herself. That would all come with time, though, as she continued to wait for a little longer, before taking the sword out of the furnace with the clamps that she had also stol- borrowed. She then started to hammer it some more, trying to make less dents in it, and make it more of a straight weapon. The blade was glowing orange-red, signifying that it was more than likely, and she isn't a scientist on the matter so she may be guessing: Very warm. Again, she isn't a doctor, so she was mostly guessing here. But all scientific research aside, she was getting very close to being done with the repairs of this weapon. Once it was done, Royah would hold high the first weapon she ever repaired! A giant, black and white molten lava death ray launcher!... Okay, so maybe it's a dagger, but who is counting, right? Not her. Word Count: 637 Words/3005 Words Tag: Capsule

[attr="class","solcap"] Whether or not the girl got her name, Capsule could not say. Her main concern right now was getting her wares ready. She may have been bad at setting up tents, but she knew how to start a fire, and methods of preventing it from spreading. Most of her early crafting had been performed with makeshift fires, after some trial and error. She formed a ring in the dirt with stones, and neatly arranged some small twigs and sticks in the center. Little sparks lit up the air and sprinkled around her face as she began to start the fire, causing her to squint.
Aleksei growled softly as small flames latched onto one of the sticks. If that upset him, he would not be any happier with Royah's progress. The girl was waving around an orange red blade. The process of making metal weapons and armor was well beyond Capsule's ability to understand. Tailoring and woodcrafting was more up her alley. Her mother taught her how to knit and sew, and on her own she had dabbled with wooden handicrafts. Those were easily accessible hobbies, whereas blacksmithing seemed expensive… and quite difficult.
Capsule set up a stand, complete with cooking pot, over the steadily growing flames. A bucket of fresh, spring water was dumped into the waiting pot. Left to its own devices, the water would slowly reach a boil. That would give the woman an ample amount of time to get the herbs ready. She intended to make a batch of medicinal formulas. They paled in comparison to medicinal tablets, but she lacked a stove to make the latter.
Now came the fun part. She dragged a small table from the shade of her tent (this was formally borrowed from the supply area), and placed it to the side of the fire. Aleksei perked up a bit. He knew what to expect next. She waved a hand under his nose. «You should really go find your own store of honey.» The bear curled a corner of his lip, revealing part of a barely concealed fang. Oh, that was cute. She pulled out a pot of honey from her inventory, which he eagerly snatched up and bounded away with.
From her magic bag, Capsule pulled out a bunch of greens -- all healing herbs -- and set them down on the table. Last came her paring knife and mortar and pestle. She took as many herbs as she could fit in one hand, and pressed them down against the tabletop. With nimble fingers and an almost automatic chopping pattern, Capsule neatly diced the greens. She moved with speed and precision, moving onto the next handful of herbs as soon as she finished the first.
Within two minutes, the small pile of whole herbs were diminished. They were made even smaller by cutting them a second time, until the remains were finely minced. The Pharmacist coolly dusted her hands together. One of these days, she would invest in a lab coat… or maybe an apron? She shrugged and began separating the diced herbs into smaller sections of their own. This next step required a lot of bumping and grinding. Now that he laser rifle of pure damnation and destruction was completed, she decided that she would make something like it, though this time much bigger. Royah needed a new sword, one that wasn't awful as could be. She started by grabbing a few plates of metal, and a mold for a large katana. Something like the nodachi that she had already, but only... Not as bad as the nodachi she currently had. Something better. Bigger. Stronger. Built to last longer. And maybe enchanted with a bit of fire and light damage. Okay, so maybe that last part was a bit of her imagination, though she wanted to do work on an expansion to the weapon itself so that it would be able to have some kind of reforge, which she would absolutely love to have happen on anything she decides to create from now. But that would be for later. For now, she just wanted to get to work on making the weapon. This would be the first part, and she just wanted to get the base going. She wanted to go ahead and get this working, so the plan was to make this, and then work on enhancing it. And then make armor. And then find a tailor to make her a suit of clothing that she could wear as vanity clothing thanks to the fact that her armor was definitely starting to weigh her down and didn't seem all that appealing at all despite being armor that she needed to wear for tanking which was totally against the class choice that she had chosen but made up for in shields and subclasses. Even Royah needed to take in a deep breath after thinking that sentence. She felt lightheaded just by extension, since it had seemed like she actually saying that stuff. Either way, though, she decided that she would continue working on this project, and kept attempting to form the weapon. She needed to melt down something in order to make the weapon fill the mold, but that seemed like it would take a long time. She decided to go ahead and started that up, melting down the scraps of the weapons that she had borrowed. Waste not, want not. So she decided in the meantime to... Sit around, waiting for the thing to melt. Maybe she could have been doing something productive, but that didn't seem like fun. Nor did sitting around, waiting for the metal to melt, for that matter. Maybe she would walk around for a little while, but leaving all her things out where anybody could grab them seemed like a bad idea. So, she just sat there, twiddling her thumbs. This was boring, but she had to do it. Word Count: 457 Words/3462 Words Tag: Capsule

[attr="class","solcap"] Her first batch of minced herbs were relocated into her mortar and pestle. As Capsule moved the small club around, she wondered if there was a way to do this all en masse. Perhaps she could use a large mixing bowl instead? But that would probably take longer to get everything down into a workable substance… Her mind trailed off as she continued to work. So far, she could not think of an efficient way to make what she needed. Was there even such a thing in the real world? Like, a giant machine that could do her job in a matter of seconds? If so, she would have to call on Hiro for assistance.
Capsule dumped the contents of her bowl mortar onto a stretch of parchment. She reached for the second section of herbs, and performed the same tedious method to reduce it to a powdery substance. There was nothing exciting about this work, which was why she loathed doing it in mentor sessions. This was best done alone or in larger groups, so the budding Pharmacists could discuss quietly among themselves. Her peering over the lone shoulder of a student would reduce her mind to jelly.
As she worked, Capsule found her eye drawn to the Shaman, who was not as active as before. She supposed there was a lull in her work, or she was thinking hard about something. "You all right over there," the woman called out. It was somewhat embarrassing to be raising her voice, even if it were just the two of them over here. That unmistakable feeling of being watched was nagging at Capsule, who was trying her best to ignore it.
Thanks to her strict upbringing, she was always wary of her father coming up from behind and smacking her upside the head for yelling. It was illogical, as he rarely visited her usual haunts, but that fear had followed her long after she moved out. Even here, she got nervous sometimes. Fear did not listen to reason until you overcame it. Another bowl full of powder was dumped onto a growing pile.
Uneasy and waiting for any sort of response, Capsule poured what she had so far into the steadily steaming pot. It was not boiling yet, but it would be soon enough. There was still plenty of work to be done, too, so she could make one batch of potions and prepare another soon afterwords. It occurred to the girl that she could have been working on something else in the meantime, waiting for the metal to melt. She felt stupid, very painfully so, as the realization had come in a very powerful slap to her face, so to speak. Well, possibly literally as well, as she had face-palmed herself for not having thought of it earlier. She started to look over at some of the armor she had in the pile of other equipment that she had borrowed from the stall, and started to wonder how she could improve it. Instead of doing that, though, she turned her attention to her own armor, which was still the beat up, painful started equipment. She decided that she would go ahead and make some new armor for herself. At least, after she responded to the enchanter nearby, who had addressed her. Royah lift up her hand, and nodded, letting out a bit of air as she had done so, as if to further confirm that she was okay. She would have explained that she was just bored as she waited for metal to melt, but her idea of making some new armor from the scraps that had been left over was too fresh in her mind to let it sit for too much longer. She started to grab onto some of the metals, and would start to form them somehow. She didn't know quite what she was doing at the current time, but maybe an overlay would appear on her interface to tell her what to do. When that didn't work, she decided to just open up the crafting menu in the interface, and work from there. Selecting the Basic Equipment: Plate Armor skill, she decided that she would go from there, and do all the things that had been instructed. The first thing to do was make sure she had enough materials to get started with. Well, there was no shortage of pliable metal for her, which she confirmed quickly by looking at the massive stack of stuff nearby her, so she went with that as her response to that inquiry. After that, she would need to start a base. Well, maybe the beat up old armor that she had on was enough of a start, so she would work with that. The next few things, she didn't really understand, but decided that she would go ahead and work on them nonetheless. The girl had transformed from a thumb-twiddling, very bored young lady into a still-quite-slow-moving crafter. She had begun on the next bit of stuff, which was the armor, while the metal would still melt for a little while more. She wasn't sure if she liked this whole blacksmithing thing, but she chocked it up to being an acquired taste of sorts. Maybe she'd like it in due time. [attr="class","solcap"] The simple sign from Royah hinted that the girl was fine. She looked so bored, though… Capsule could sympathize, as her crafting class could be pretty damn dull at times, as well as repetitive. That was likely a common trend for all crafting classes, however. The recipes were not so diverse in many occasions, so you essentially ended up doing the same steps over and over, but for different items. Pharmacist was really bad about that. There were only so many ways for you to slice and dice and boil an herb. Speaking of boiling…
Capsule peeked into her quietly simmering pot. A few bubbles rose to the top and popped. She gently stirred the contents with a long wooden spoon. The first batch would be done in no time. A small handful of tablets with impure chemicals were tossed in, and two small bottles of impure solvent followed after them. These were whisked around in the pot for about thirty seconds. Already she could smell the medicinal effects wafting up from the pot. Now, if she just allowed it to sit…
To expediate the process, Capsule utilized the system in such a way that it behaved as a microwave to speed up the production process. This was essentially speed crafting, except she had gone through all of the trouble of preparing everything by hand. It was oh so very useful to wealthy and high leveled crafters. Anyone lower or just getting started would prefer the cheapest way possible, so not to overburden themselves or empty out their wallets too fast. Plus, it really was best to learn by hand, even if the act was incredibly tedious and time consuming. Experience was essential in this world and the other.
The ding came ten seconds later. Capsule had barely had time to pick up a set of vials before it did so. This last part was sadly not set to automatic, which meant that she had the fun job of applying the potion to their containers by hand. Her wooden spoon was exchange for a small ladle, and a funnel was placed balanced into the first vial. This first batch was enough for fifteen to twenty potions, a task that would take her several minutes to complete. They still needed to take a few minutes to cool down before she could even think about capping them. And then they had to be boxed. Once that was all done, she had the pleasure of starting all over again, and repeating the same steps.
