[attr="class","capsol"] The train next to the monk had steam pouring out of it, as it waited for its maiden voyage across the newly-created railways of the Isle of Grain. Having been connected by a land bridge to the rest of the English Island, it was fairly easy for people to start working on this neck of the woods. Hiro had helped out with the construction as well, and decided that he would go ahead and take the maiden voyage himself. Of course, this mean that everybody else who had worked on the railways were sent home early with pay, just to make sure he had the railroad to himself for the time being. He wanted to make sure everything was okay, especially for the sake of if anything goes wrong, it would be his ass on the line, not anybody else's. Well, one other person, but that's beside the point. Hiro wanted to be as up-to-date on the railroad situation since he had started asking around for people to help him out with the entire thing, starting with Pattington Station. The city itself was already being taken care of, and a few other people seemed to have shared interest in making the Isle of Grain go along, too.
Hiro was working on the train itself, making sure that it was in tip-top condition to begin its voyage. Granted, Hiro had to have the train brought out to this location, which meant it had to be driven, but it was definitely important to make sure that everything was working well enough. Especially since this train would not only carry himself, but also another. Hiro had invited Sayha along, his friend and newly-made guild mate, if she would like to come along. Hiro knew that she was a Scribe, and he needed someone to help him out with making the maps for the train route in the Isle of Grain. Others were doing the same thing in other parts of the Unfounded Kingdom, as the Train hype seemed to have blown into something wonderful like this. Hiro was more than just excited to see this all come to fruition, since he had been dreaming of a day like this since he had first improved upon the given steam engine. Speaking of which, it was just the engine for today, as they wouldn't need any cargo to do what it was that they needed to do. The trains that he made himself ran off of their own power, so there wasn't any need for alternate fuels. Efficiency at its best.
Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he looked around himself a little. The gauges in the train seemed like they were working just fine, and all the levers were well maintained. All that he needed to do was wait for Sayha to arrive, brief her on the situation, and then they could get the show on the road. Perhaps this would be a lot of fun, since Hiro hadn't been able to go all out with driving a train yet, though he knew exactly how it operated. He wouldn't tell Sayha about that fact, though, as that would likely bring about some unneeded concern. Hiro knew what he was doing, more than likely, so there wasn't any reason to really be cautious about it. He started to push the thought off to the side, as he began to tinker with the train engine a bit more. He wanted to make sure that everything was as good as it could be, and nothing would fall apart. He stepped out of the train, and started to walk along the sides of it, looking at all the bolts on the outside. It was a finely crafted machine, as he was proud enough to say, and he smiled at the fact. He continued to look around until he came to the front of the engine, where the name of the guild was plastered on the front, with two emblems for both Solstice and Asterial Age prominently standing out. He then started to walk over to the cab of the train again, where he would wait for Sayha to arrive.

Sayha had finished her first task as a Scribe by making her pen, paper, and ink. Now, she was making her way to the Isle of Grain just off the Thames Coastline to meet up with Hiro, her friend and now guild leader. The second part she hadn’t quite gotten used to. It had only been a few days since she joined the guild after round 2 of Hide’n’Seek. It had also not been that long since Hiro announced the commotion about getting the trains up and running. Since then though, there had been a huge amount of activity not just in Londinium but everywhere a station was. It was actually kind of exciting, and Sayha could imagine it being very widely used. Sayha saw the bridge long before she arrived on the Coastline. It had finished being built not too long ago, and now there was a constant bridge between the two rather than a land bridge that was dependent on tides. Since the train wasn’t running yet, Sayha walked along the train tracks on the bridge. After making it across, Sayha just continued to follow the train tracks to the station there.
When she arrived, it was empty, which was not what she had expected. She had thought that there was still work needing to be done. Then, she saw Hiro waiting for her by the cab of the train. She wasn’t sure if he could see her so she lifted her hand in the air to let him know she was there. After a moment, she put it down and finished her walk by stopping near Hiro.
“I thought there would be more people around,” Sayha said, “I thought there was still some last minute tweaks that needed to be finished before the trial run.”

[attr="class","capsol"] As Hiro was waiting, he thought about something else he would need to do, in order to fully prepare for the voyages that may come ahead. However, as he was thinking about this, he noticed a form beginning to appear from out of the corner of his eye. Looking over, Hiro smiled as he saw Sayha walking over to him. He raised his own hand in greeting, as he waited for her to get close enough to talk. It was nice to see that she had made it, and he figured that she needed some time in order to get some supplies ready to go. Though, she seemed surprised at the lack of people around, which she honestly should have been. While it was probably strange to even think that such a massive operation as this was no longer in effect, or that the number of people around was definitely a lot smaller than one would expect for such a thing to take place, he had his own reasons. Reason that he would explain in just a few moments. Hiro started to head up into the cab of the train, using the ladder on the side to climb up and into it. He turned around for a moment to explain.
"Well, I decided to let everybody head home kinda early today. Figured it would be good for them to take some time off, with pay, after such hard work." He stood back up fully, opening his arms out wide, motioning to the vast area around them. "Thanks to them, the railroad itself is pretty much done!" He let out this last bit with a good deal of pride in his voice. After a moment, letting the words themselves sink into his body, he looked back at the girl on the ground. "And, this is where you and I come in. We're gonna take this here train cab, and ride it all across the Isle of Grain, making note of all the stations we pass along the way." Hiro smiled at her. "I think I may have mentioned before, but you're here to be the mapper." He walked over to the cab's controls, where he began to look around and make sure everything was in tip-top condition. He shouted over to Sayha, so he could be heard even at the helm of the cab. "We'll be riding around the Isle, which has a few more stations than you'd think, and all of it will come about to be one giant loop, by the end of it! It really is an area that extends the entirety of the Isle, and a bit further outward, as well!"
Confirming that everything was all set to go, Hiro walked over to the ladder again, kneeling down. He pointed to the other side of the train than he was on. "Once we get all the way around, we'll end up going the other way from here. And then, from there, it'll be straight back to London. Cool, right?" He showed obvious emotion and invigoration for the journey ahead of them, and he wanted Sayha to also be as excited as he was. Though, he realized that he had a bit of a power over her, which he would exert for no reason other than to make her feel welcome. Standing up straight, Hiro looked to her. "Sayha, as your guild leader, I would like to request your assistance in the undertaking of this adventure." Giving her a formal salute, Hiro leaned back down, and held out his hand to her. "Once you're on, we'll get moving. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?" Hiro's voice was sincere, though he was barely able to hold back his enthusiasm by this point. He was more than ready to get things going, as quick as possible. But, he would be patient, and hold his hand out for Sayha to either accept or deny it, and then hop onto the train, or tell him to do it himself. The latter of the options seemed a bit less likely, as Hiro felt that Sayha was willing to help out here. He waited, though, for her response, and would help her aboard in due time, should she accept.

Sayha listened to Hiro as he explained why there wasn’t anyone around as well as what the exact plan of the day was. She couldn’t help but smile because his demeanor was that of a kid in a candy store; though she was surprised that he was containing his excitement as much as he was. Sayha herself was more interested and intrigued than excited for a few reasons. One was that she simply had never ridden a train before. She knew that there were train near where she lived back in the US as well as in England, but she just never had to ride them. Second, she never really thought about any other way of transportation before in this world. She really didn’t mind walking since that was how she always got everywhere anyway. Though, she did know about mounts in the game, but she had yet to see one since she and everyone else became trapped. Thirdly, she had her concerns that it would work. She had all the faith in Hiro; that was not the issue. To be honest, she didn’t even know why she was so concerned. Maybe it was the engine, maybe it was something else.
For the time being, Sayha pushed her doubts aside. Hiro, as her guild leader, asked for her assistance with the adventure of taking the train on its first outing. Sayha smiled again. Being officially asked was odd for her, and she highly doubted she would get used to it.
“Well if you’re asking me officially, I can’t possibly say no now can I?” Sayha said lightheartedly, taking Hiro’s hand. After, she carefully climbed up the ladder with his help.
“I’ll warn you though that I’m not sure how good my map-making skills are. This will be my first time using my skills outside of just making the basics of what I need,” Sayha explained, “So I hope the train doesn’t go too fast or else I may not be able to keep up. Also, is there anywhere specifically you want me to be on the train?”

[attr="class","capsol"] Helping Sayha up into the cab of the train, making sure that she didn't fall, he stepped back a bit, and walked over to the controls. Making sure that everything was in line, he heard Sayha mention that she hadn't used the skills much before, to which he didn't really worry all that much about. She would figure out how to go about things given enough time passing, so he would let her do whatever she needed to do in order to make things happen for herself. He turned to her and smirked a bit, after she mentioned that she hoped the train didn't go too fast. He was going to make it fast, but he wouldn't tell her that. All she needed to do was mark down where all the stations were, and the train's route would be planned from there. The railroad made one big circle around the island, where people could come and go from. There wasn't a whole lot of stuff to do here on the Isle of Grain, but it seemed to be a fairly well populated area, all in all. Enough to warrant building a track that looped all around, and various stations along the way, for people to enjoy what the Isle had to offer.
"Well, as for making the maps." Hiro began, tinkering just a little bit more with the gauges, tapping on the side of one of them lightly. "I mostly just need you to record where the stations are on the map of the Isle, as we get to them. There will be landmarks to show where we are, so that should make things easier to remember." He walked back over to where Sayha was, and began to flip up a few switches on the back of the train cab. With all of the switches released, he began to pull on a metallic handle, and a table rolled out, with metal rims to prevent items from spilling out. Another little invention of his, that he had added, which he would explain. Small green orbs were placed on the table in the front 2 corners, then above where the table slid out from against the back of the cab, and a small working compass in the middle of the table. He slapped it lightly, and a few legs folded down from the bottom, forming a sturdy base for the table. He looked to Sayha and smiled. "A little invention of mine." He began, walking over to the front of the table, and pressing a button on the bottom of it. The small orbs began to create a constant flow of wind, heading forward toward the controls of the train. He let it run for a bit
"This here's what I like to call a Wind-Cancelling Appliance." Hiro spoke after a few seconds, and turned it off. "Something you might find handy here. This mechanism uses Wind Source Spheres, angled slightly, to create a no-wind zone, which only works when we reach a certain speed. It works by cancelling out the backward-facing winds around the table, using forward-facing winds to counteract it, thus creating a small area where wind will not influence papers, utensils, or other small objects, easily moved by the wind." He placed his hands on his hips triumphantly. "Just another reason why I've decided to name this specific engine 'The Explorer', due to its uses for setting up maps and the like, for later train usage." He was quite proud of all that he had done, but he remembered Sayha's previous question about where she should be. "Oh, as for where to stay, just anywhere in the cab will do." He walked over to the other side of the table, and flipped a few more switches, bringing out a small bench of sorts for her to sit at. "If you'd like, you can sit here, or you can stand. It's entirely up to you." He walked over to the controls again, placing his hands on the main console, and looked back to Sayha. "Whenever you're all situated, we can get moving! You can place whatever you need on the table for now, it won't be too bad once we get started. Promise!"

Sayha watched as Hiro went over to the controls, tinkering with them. He explained he mostly just needed her to record where the stations were so they can make up an official path for the train to follow. Then, Hiro walked back to where she was. After flipping some switches, a table and bench appeared. Hiro explained what it was and how it works, but she didn’t follow along well. Those types of details she didn’t understand at all. What she did catch was that he named the engine “The Explorer” which had amused her. Hiro said she was welcome anywhere in the cab and even had a bench materialize. Sayha pulled out one of the pieces of paper she had made earlier along with her ink and pen and set them out on the table. “What I’ll do is I’ll make a rough initial map while we’re on the go, and I’ll make notes as to where each of the stations are. Once that’s done, I’ll go into town and get a map I can borrow so I can copy it down. Then I’ll put the stations on the final map, and we can mark out the final route on that copy as well.”
Sayha, on the page she had pulled out, make a quick line for the railroad that would lead of the Isle of Grain and put a small star where the station that they were currently at was. She also wrote a small note next to it stating it was the starting point.
“I’m ready to go, or at least as ready as I’m going to get,” Sayha nodded at him, getting ready to hold down her stuff on the table just in case.

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro let Sayha finish what she was saying, and nodded to her about her plan. Probably a good thing to think, especially since they would likely not be stopping at any of the situations along the way. This was meant to be an expedition where they just ran around everything, saw where the stations were, and then marked where they were on the paper that Sayha had brought with her. With all this in mind, she gave him the final nod, where he immediately nodded back, and smiled a good deal. "Here we go, then." Hiro said, moving a few of the levers. The train started to steam a little bit on the outside, as everything began to move into the places that it needed to go. Hiro kept a close eye on the gauges, to make sure that pressure wouldn't overflow into the engine, and to keep an eye on the speed they were moving at. Thankfully enough, this engine was self-efficient, in that it didn't need anything other than its own systems to work. Having decided to use a few Fire Source Spheres to produce the heat and flames needed to run the locomotive, without needing anything else to power it.
The wheels on the side began to very, very slowly turn, as the train itself began to move. Hiro felt a sudden jolt of joy, and his eyes lit up. He leaned over to the side of the train, where a window-like hole was made for him to look out the side of, and started to look down at the train's wheels. They were, indeed, beginning to move. Celebrating slightly, he leaned back inside, and started to work the levers a bit more, all the while, the train was beginning to speed up every slightly. Keeping an eye on the gauges, to make sure he wasn't messing anything up. He knew exactly how to operate the vehicle, in theory, and had to resort to figuring everything else out on the job. This was the minor backlash that he had to deal with, since he himself never took the time to actually make the trains himself. But, he was usually quite busy, so he didn't have as much time as he would have liked to actually go ahead and learn on hand. He had been going over how to fully operate the train over the past few days, as he was getting the whole hubbub for the station back in London together, because this was his ultimate goal. While he thought about this, he looked over everything one more time.
Everything seemed to be working just fine, and they were starting to move faster. Hiro leaned out the side again, watching the station pass them by as they moved. The excitement had completely filled up his eyes by this point, as he looked back inside at Sayha for just a moment. "Watch your ears, it's about to get loud!" He shouted, his eagerness about to boil over by this point. Hiro leaned back out of the window, reached up above himself in the cab, and began to blast the whistle, which made an iconic noise. He let it ring out for a few seconds, after which he let out his own cheer. "Hell yeah!" He shouted. He really was a child at heart, mostly because he's been wanting to do this for a very long time now. Ever since he was a kid, he loved trains, and he felt that his admiration for them had somehow built up over such a long time. Honestly, he was glad that he was in this world now, as it had given him the opportunity to do this, which he likely wouldn't have been able to do back in the other world. Leaning back inside, he checked the gauges another time, as the speed of the train began to get up to a nice 15 miles per hour. He looked over at Sayha, a massive grin on his face. "Sorry, I've always wanted to do that." He explained, as he looked ahead again at the gauges and levers. Their trip was now officially underway.

As Hiro began to get the train going, Sayha watched him, rather amused. It took a few moments, for everything to come together, and she felt the train jolt forward. Hiro was probably beyond ecstatic since the train started moving, and she couldn’t help but chuckle under her breath. As the train began to move, Sayha carefully began to sketch the path the train took, looking around for any noticeable landmarks to sketch or note in for reference. Even though she was technically working, she found herself enjoying the job. It was her first time on a train, and it actually felt safer than in a car, on or boat, or in a plane, all of which she had been on.
After a moment, Hiro told her to watch her ears, and she instantly knew what he was going to do. However since she was sketching, she really had no way to cover them so she dealt with the very loud whistle without any protection. After Hiro blasted it a few times, she noticed some of the Landers stop and watch the train in awe. They probably had never seen a train moving before so it really was no surprise. Of course, they were probably just as excited about the train system as the adventurers were. After all, it would be safer travel than walking from place to place.
Sayha then recalled when Hiro told her about his plan with the trains and the station. At first, Sayha was skeptical to say the least. However after he explained what all had been done already, she allowed herself to be curious and believe it would happen. Sayha then recalled her explaining that he was going to be holding a meeting between him and the other guild leaders. It hadn’t happened quite yet, but she knew that there was at least one other guild leader that was almost as excited as Hiro was. She couldn’t imagine the other guild leaders not being on board, especially once this demo was completed.

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro was more than enthralled with what he was doing at the moment. He might not have had a fascination with trains, though more an obsession to want to go somewhere quick; an obsession with traveling. To him, it wasn't about the destination, but more about the journey. As they had passed by a few Landers, Hiro refrained from blasting the whistle anymore, so that they wouldn't be shocked even more. Hiro gave them a wave as the train rolled by. Just afterward, though, he started to look over the gauges again, making sure everything as in good shape. He leaned out the window again, looking ahead of themselves. The wind was moving fairly fast, as they were traveling at about 40 Miles per Hour by this point, having sped up drastically since when they had left the station. He looked at the path ahead, seeing that they were about to get to the first turn within a minute, signifying the first of some turns. He leaned back inside, and began to decrease the speed they were going at by 10 Miles per Hour, since making turns with a large mass, moving at this speed, would possibly topple them over.
Not one to take risks of such magnitude, with the end result possibly ending up with the loss of the train, and potentially their lives, he figured he might as well slow them down a bit. Beyond the curves was an ocean-side track, which was rather elevated above the water's edge, and had a fair deal of land between itself and the water, so in case of anything happening, no trains would fall into the water. Checking the gauges once more, he moved over to the boiler, which he opened up. A blast of heat escaped from it, as the Fire Source Spheres were still channeling energy to create the flames needed for the train to run. Closing it back up, he returned to the controls. "Just a note, we're about to get to a series of curves here, so do what you need to do in order to keep your stuff in line." He turned back, still a smile on his face. "It's not a tight curve, though I just figured I'd mention." He looked to the controls once more, moving a few levers. "After about 3 minutes, we should pass by where a station is, though I'll let you know when we get close." Finishing up with the levers, he started to look out the side again, just as they were getting to the curve.
The train turned to the right for about 10 seconds, until it came to a point where it would keep going straight for a little ways more, until a much longer curve to the left, having them head almost directly east, with a gentle curve to the left still present. They would come to a short section where the road went straight east, and on that portion would be the station. They weren't quite there yet, so Hiro didn't have to worry about letting Sayha know they were getting close for now. For the time being, though, Hiro leaned onto the window, and looked out at the sea, just a ways from them. The sunlight glimmered on the surface of the water, causing him to smile and feel at ease. "This is the kinda stuff I live for, y'know?" He spoke softly, though loud enough for Sayha to possibly hear. "This is why I wanted to do this kind of thing, for times like this. Moving around on a train, looking out to the side, and seeing the ocean spread out before you." He lost himself in thought for just a moment, the smile still ever present on his face. He then realized that he may not have thanked Sayha for coming along, to which he stood back up straight and turned around. "Dunno if I did already, but I wanted to say thanks for coming along and helping out." He raised up his thumb to the girl. "Means a lot to me. Really." He concluded with that, and looked out to the side. "Oh, we should be getting close to that station by now. Should be a minute down the track from here." He went back to the controls, attempting to focus on the task they had ahead.

Sayha could tell that Hiro had been speeding up which made her sketching slightly more difficult scale-wise. Though she planned on going back and walking along the tracks to make the route a bit more precise… though she planned on doing that at a later time. A rough sketch was really all they needed for the time being once it was overlapped with the Isle of Grain map. Sayha, then, felt the train slowing down. After she felt that, Hiro warned her that they were coming into a curve. Sayha nodded and continued to sketch, making a little note on the corner of the page which way was north. As they came upon the curve, Sayha turned the paper with the curve so that the top was facing the direction they were moving. Hiro gave Sayha a heads up that a station would be approaching, and she paid close attention to outside so she wouldn’t miss any landmarks nearby so she would know where it went map wise.
Hiro then began to talk about why he wanted the train so badly, and Sayha couldn’t fault him. Then he thanked her for helping him. Almost right after, he warned of the station approaching. Once it did, Sayha marked it down on her map along with a small sketch of a building that had been nearby.
“I’m glad I’m able to help you,” Sayha replied, “You’re just as passionate about your trains as I am with my martial arts. Everyone has their thing. Mechanical stuff, however above my head it is, is yours. It’s just a shame more people aren’t able to find their passion here, but maybe with time they will.”
Sayha continued to sketch, not saying anything for a while, “Though how many stations are there along the tracks counting the two that I have already?”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro, though still fixed on what he was doing with the controls, listened to Sayha as she spoke. He hadn't given her much time to respond after he had thanked her, to which she responded with a gladdened disposition. He wasn't quite able to turn to face her quite yet, though he was caught off guard just a bit, by Sayha's mentioning of Hiro having found his passion, even in this world. He stopped what he was doing, and wondered to himself. "My passion?" Hiro asked softly. What exactly was his passion in this world? Or in any world, for that matter? What was it that he absolutely enjoyed, no matter what circumstance it was in? He honestly couldn't tell. Perhaps, one could say that he enjoyed singing as much as he did making things with machinery, though he wouldn't have called that his passion, either. Maybe both the machinery and singing were just hobbies of his? He could definitely get into a job with the machinery, if he goes around and makes enough things, to get basic understanding of how machination works, but that was for when they were out of this world.
He couldn't help but wonder what exactly it was he was passionate about, though he had snapped his mind back to reality suddenly, as Sayha had asked him a question. He turned over to face her again by this point, having dropped everything that he was thinking about, though his face still betrayed the illusion of being deep in thought. His mind eventually clicked to what it was that Sayha had asked, and he blinked a few times. "Oh, right." He said, turning back ahead and looking up. How many were there? Well, they had already passed by 1, and they started at one. "If I remember correctly, there's something like 7 of them. 6 or 7, I'm fairly sure it's one of those two numbers." He turned back around to face her, a smile on his face. "Though the next one isn't for a while down the track, so you can relax and enjoy the view for a bit. We have maybe 10 or 12 minutes before we hit the next one, due to there being a small town somewhere near the center of the island. Our tracks will head to the south of it, next to one of their roads where they transport goods to and from town." He would explain more, but that wasn't for now.
He then thought further on the passion that he had been portraying, and decided that it wasn't that big a deal to worry all that much about it right now. He was definitely having a lot of fun with just doing what he was doing, and when all this was done, he was going to have to do some kind of celebration, where everybody who had done work by this point would be thanked somehow. Speaking of everybody in the group, Hiro figured that he might as well make a bit of small talk. He pulled a lever to slow the train down a bit more, getting them cruising at a nice 28 Mph, and he leaned up against the side of the cab, looking over at Sayha. "So, how's being in the guild been? Never had a chance to ask before." It hadn't been all that long since Sayha had joined up, but it was still important to him to know if she was being cared for well enough. "You been staying at the Palace, or have you still bee bopping around inns? I've made sure that the guild house has everything we could need for the time being, so if there's anything you'd like to have there for yourself, all you need to do is ask." It was a guild leader's job to care for his guild members, and make sure that what they needed was ready for them in a timely manner. He considered this as a possible test of how well he and the guild were doing to make Sayha comfortable, so he waited to hear her response.

After Sayha had spoken, she briefly heard Hiro question what she had said. Then after she had asked him a question, it seemed to take a moment for it to register with him. Sayha looked up as he answered, but something seemed to be off about him. However after a moment, the look seemed to be gone. Sayha thought about asking him about it, but before she could answer he had asked her a question regarding how things have been for her since she joined the guild and if she was still staying at inns or if she had taken up residence in the guild hall. Sayha looked back down at the map, continuing to sketch and not answering right away. After a moment, she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “To be honest, I haven’t been by the guild hall yet,” Sayha confessed. It probably should have been one of the first things she did after joining the guild, going to the guild hall and meeting some of the other members. It made sense after all. However, it really wasn’t that simple to her, and her mixed feelings showed on her face.
Sayha, with all her heart, wanted to find a place that she belonged. For a long while, she did have one. And that was with her martial arts classes. She had people she considered close friends, some of them having very similar attitudes to her. She felt like she had belonged. However in all of her online games, she had trouble finding one, no matter how hard she tried. At one point, she realized that maybe she was trying too hard, but then when she stopped trying she was told she wasn’t trying hard enough.
It had been kind of a fluke she met Hiro, but she considered him a close friend. After a slight confrontation between the two, they had made up… and Sayha had asked to join his guild. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to go to the guild building…
“It’s… complicated…” Sayha eventually responded, “It’s not like I don’t want to go it’s just… complicated.” She took a deep breath, realizing that just saying that it’s complicated didn’t mean much, “You’re probably going to laugh but it’s because I’m… anxious? I guess that would be the right word.”
“You know how I told you that I took martial arts classes?” Sayha continued, “Well… to be completely honest that was the first time I felt like I belonged somewhere. I did the classes for years… I never expected that I’d be ripped out of them. You see… I was born in America, and I lived there up until a few years ago. My mother passed when I was three, and my father remarried when I was six. I didn’t get along with my step-mother at all… still wouldn’t even if I were on the other side. She doesn’t understand me, and she doesn’t want to. To her, I’m just a hindrance. I didn’t do great in public school so my father pulled me out so I could homeschool myself, and when he did he enrolled me in the martial arts classes. The classes gave me structure, and I certainly didn’t have that at home. Then after I graduated homeschooling myself, my step-mother barks and complains that she’s homesick even though she visited England on almost a quarterly basis… so my father decided to move us there so she wouldn’t be ‘inconvenienced.’”
Sayha had to pause and take a few deep breaths, realizing that she had become bitter near the end. “After I was dragged to England, I was alone pretty much since then… I was sixteen as well. I guess what I’m trying to say is is that I’m kind of worried that a. no one else will like me and b. that if I do like it there that something will happen and I will be left alone again. That probably sounds really childish…”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro was actually a bit surprised at the answer he had been given by the Assassin nearby him. He understood that she had loved her martial arts, though he didn't know just how deep it went, until now. Hiro hadn't feel like that, given his own personal history with things, though he knew what it was like to not really feel like he belonged. Maybe he'd explain a bit about his own situation, so perhaps Sayha didn't feel alone? She had finished her thoughts with a line that he disagreed with. "No, there's nothing chilidish about it." He started, a stern look about him. "You don't want to be alone in a place you're not familiar with. That's a fairly common fear, even if you don't think it is." He turned his head over to look back outside for a moment, still seeing the water from where they were. The train was still cruising along nicely, and Hiro knew that there wouldn't be any sort of station or stop anywhere for a little while, so he figured he could talk for a bit without being distracted. Looking back to Sayha, he continued with what he was saying.
"I'm sorry that you were taken from a place you loved, though. Even more so that it was to move to a different part of the world." He wasn't going to make this about him, so he stopped there, hoping that his sincerity flowed through well enough. "Nobody else can imagine how it feels but you, though it's important to know that you're not really alone in all of that. At least, not here, anyways. I know nobody else's real lives are the same, but here, I think we're all in the same boat. When we all got here, we only had our few friends that we knew from beforehand, at best, and that was about it. From there, everybody had to make their own way, and find something to do. If everybody stayed in one spot, then nothing would get done, y'know?" He fell silent for a moment, thinking about what he wanted to say from there. Maybe at this point he would try and explain a bit of his own life. Self-disclosure should be a mutual thing between friends, really, as it helps deepen the friendship between two people. It builds more trust, really, and that's the kind of stuff that Hiro enjoyed about friendships. Having people you can trust is a wonderful thing.
He walked over nearby the table where Sayha had set her stuff down, and leaned up against the back of the cab. "I'm not originally British, either, as I think I've explained before. When I was two, my biological parents left me alone in the house we stayed in, and asked for my foster parents to care for me instead. My mom and my birth mother knew each other from school and had been friends, but my birth parents moved back to Japan after a while. When my foster parents were coming to visit, well, they were greeted with a letter and a two year old, soundly sleeping in his bed." He chuckled. "I was so young, I don't even remember my birth parents at all. I hardly remember the incident, to be honest. But, I felt it was likely probably important that I also share a bit of info, since you did about yourself." He wasn't sure why he was laughing, even remotely, though he shook his head. "Either way, I'm not gonna force you to come to the Guild House. But I'd just like to mention that, if you do decide to come check it out, let me know." He gave Sayha a little thumbs up and a smile. "I'll be there, so you don't just show up without anybody else there, okay? Everybody there's nice, so you'll see that everybody is welcomed, no matter what. And don't you worry about it going anywhere, if you do like it."
Hiro stood straight up, throwing his arms up into the air. "Come Hell or high water, ain't nothing's gonna stop Apocrypha!" He walked over to Sayha, and put a hand on her shoulder, broadening his smile. "And you're stuck with us now, you hear that?" He let go of her shoulder, though still standing nearby. "We don't like to leave anybody behind, and we have no intention of letting that happen to anybody. That's just how we roll." He gave her another soft smile, and walked back over to the gauges, to make sure that there wouldn't be anything wrong for the time being. The pressure seemed fine, the engine's temperature was in an allowable margin, and their speed hadn't decreased or increased too much. With everything seeming to be okay, he turned back to Sayha. "On that note, though, I'd like to mention that I'd really like it if you'd come see the Guild House. I really feel like you'll enjoy it there, and you'll feel a bit less anxious when you actually arrive. Like I said, I'd be there, so you don't have much of anything to worry about. I'll make sure everything's alright for you." He faced the controls again, cranking up the speed just a little bit, and shouted back to Sayha to finish his thought. "I'm your guild leader! It's my job to make sure everything is okay, for your comfort!" He fell silent for a bit. Maybe he didn't cheer Sayha up, even a little, but he hoped that just by talking with her, she might feel a little better.

Sayha was relieved when Hiro told her fear was common; it meant that he understood how she felt. He went on to say that he was sorry that she was ripped from a place that she loved and say that everyone was now in the same boat even if their pasts were different. After that, he walked over near the table she was at, and she turned to face him. Hiro explained more about his past; it seemed he didn’t have the best past either. When Hiro offered to be there when she made her way to the Guild House, she smiled slightly. Then he told her that she was stuck with them for now on, and that she wouldn’t be left behind. She then chuckled when he said that it was his duty as the guild leaser.
“Thank you, Hiro,” Sayha smiled, “It means a lot for you to say that.” She paused, continuing her sketch so she wouldn’t be behind. “If you really want me to go, then we can go after the train ride. I’ll have to come back to the Isle of Grain to finish the map which will be no big deal. I’ll make sure that it gets done in time for the guilds’ meeting that you talked about before. That way you can show it to the other guild leaders at least as a preliminary map. Also, that reminds me of something. To level up my scribe level, I was thinking about making maps of all the areas we can get to… though having them just for myself doesn’t seem very fair so I was thinking of having them posted somewhere. Maybe we, or I, could post them in the train stations, though if they go in every single one I’ll need help making them.”
There was silence for a few moments as Sayha’s thoughts ran through her head. “Though I do have a question for you… do you go out of the way for all of your guild members or is it just me?”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro was glad that Sayha was now in a better mood, even more so that she was thankful for it. He felt himself relax a little more, though he didn't show it quite as much, as his back was turned to the Assassin. He let out a small sigh, hopefully small enough that Sayha wouldn't pick up on it. She then began to say that they could go and head over to the guild house sometime after all this was done, though she mentioned that she wanted to get the work done before much else happens. However, her offer to have the project done by the time the meeting would be held made him think less on the topic, and decided that he would go ahead and just take her to the guild house sometime soon. It would be better if she was able to see the place soon enough, and while they both were there, they might as well go and take care of that. Perhaps he could even offer her a room to stay in, like everybody else had been offered. While he thought, though, Sayha said she would try and map out everything for everywhere else, to which Hiro nodded. That would be a good enough idea, probably.
A small silence followed, which was broken by a question from the Assassin. Hiro looked up slightly, and turned his body to face toward Sayha, a smile on his face. "Yeah, everybody's important to me. I'd prefer to treat everybody the same, whether it's part of my job description as leader or not." He looked up even further, to the ceiling of the cab. "I don't think it's fair to treat anybody any differently than anybody else, y'know? Just strikes me as something that I shouldn't do, unless I'm given a viable reason to treat them differently. Though, that includes stuff like they pissed me off, pissed one of my friends off, or anything malicious in general." He paused for a second, thinking about it. "On the flip-side, though, if I'm in a relationship with a girl, then I'll likely treat them a bit differently, too. But that's not the point." Hiro looked over at Sayha again, chuckling. "I generally treat everybody the same, unless given circumstances require that I don't." He would likely leave it at that, since there wasn't much else to say on the matter. He turned to look at the controls and gauges, and then leaned his head outside, looking to see where they were on the track.
Hiro returned to the controls, increasing the speed a little bit. They were at a good enough point in the bend that they would be able to speed it up a bit without too much trouble. The curve was rather slight, but precautions needed to be guaranteed. While he did this, though, he thought about some more possible conversational topics. He liked talking with Sayha. It was actually pretty fun. Maybe he should explain more about the guild meeting thing that he was planning? That sounded like a good idea. "So, I'm not sure if I talked enough about the meeting that would be coming up soon. Basically what I plan to do is bring around a few people whom I've met over the time spent here, and one guild whom I had never met before, to the station where everything will be taking place from, Pattington Station. I intend for them to understand what it is I'd like to have happen there, and since you said you were thinking about making maps for everywhere, could I possibly ask you to come and be another rep for the guild? Those maps you make would likely be helpful for explanation, so I'd appreciate it if you could do that for me." He knew that he had been asking a lot from Sayha, but if she had the time and ability to do those things, then he would greatly appreciate it. As he stacked up his own debt to the girl by this point, he waited for her response.

After Sayha asked her question, Hiro turned to her with a smile, explaining that the treated everyone the same. Though his last part of that slightly confused her when he said that would probably treat the person he was in a relationship differently. What did he mean by that? Maybe she was trying to read too much into it… which would be her normal. It wouldn’t have been the first time she did something like that. She didn’t want to make it seem awkward so she chose to say nothing. Hiro turned back to the train controls, and Sayha kept mapping, occasionally looking out the window. She hadn’t spent much time on the Isle of Grain before simply as there hadn’t been a need to. However with her making the train route map and her leveling her scribe subclass, she had a good feeling that she would be back many times to finish it.
Hiro started talking, drawing her attention back to him. He explained more about the Guild Meeting, which was kind of nice. She had a feeling that she would have found out the details after the meeting. When Hiro asked her to go to the meeting with him, she was surprised.
“Yeah, I can go to the meeting,” Sayha replied, “I don’t have many other plans, and I doubt anything will overlap. Though, why are you asking me? Wouldn’t it be better for a more senior guild member to go to the meeting? The only other guild leader I’ve run into is Dumah of… Noihara if I’m remembering correctly… That was… and interesting time to say the least.”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro had figured that the Assassin would wonder why Hiro would ask her along. Though, he also wasn't aware that she knew the leader of the newly-sprouted guild, Noihara, already. Beneficial to say the least, he nodded at the whole thought of it all. He would need to explain how things currently were in the guild, perhaps going off by who was there in the guild at the moment, and who was generally around. That would be fun. "Well, first of all," Hiro began. "It's good to know that you've already met the leader of Noihara. Will probably make things a bit easier for everybody, if nobody is among complete strangers. So, there's a reason, in and of itself." He looked ahead at the tracks again, trying to see how it looked for now. He could talk for a bit, and explain things for now. "As for why I'm asking you along, well, there's a few reasons behind that. Midori, the other co-leader of Apocrypha, has been in a lot of work lately, and taking care of things that she needs to take care of, in order to stay alive. I don't blame her, though I wish she were more around to help out with things."
"Saeko, one of the other members of the guild, tends to just laze around the house, wondering if a friend of ours, Caerbannog, will ever show back up. Those two Samurai seemed to have hit it off quite well, when they first met, and they used to go drinking every so often." His mind wandered for a moment. "Although, I do wonder what Caer's up to, nowadays..." He shook his head a bit, and got back on track. "Anyways, I know that Artemisia's been doing a bit of job-hunting as of late, and has been fairly busy with things. She's been around the Guild House a lot, though, so it's not like she's not there. I just don't want to bother her while she's busy looking for jobs. Valerie, who is, I believe, the third highest level in the guild, has been vanishing and reappearing at different intervals. I think she said it had to do with some kind of school work." He shrugged and chuckled a bit. "I have no idea what kind of school work she needs to get done, even in this world, but hey, I'll let her do what she wants. Ain't my place to tell her not to do stuff, y'know?" Hiro looked ahead for a moment at the controls. "Hope she's doing alright, though."
"Blue, our resident Songstress, has been off making a name for herself over around the server, performing music for everybody who will listen. Mostly an attempt for job-hunting, but I know she's doing what she wants to do in the meantime. Youka, whom you may know by another name, isn't too into politics, or anything guild-related for that matter. She likes to hang out and relax a lot, though there's nothing wrong with that. Gotta say, though..." He paused again, a cringe appearing on his face. "She's intelligent in the ways of... Attacking guys, if you will." He shuddered at the thought. That was the last time that he wanted to be punched in the nuts. Even in this world, where it didn't actually hurt. The pain still flowed through. He stood back up straight, a soft smile on his face. "Everybody else is off doing their own things, really, though they stop in from time to time. It really is quite lively when things get going, though, so don't you doubt that. Though, I'm asking you to come along, because I feel like you can really help me out with this. So, thank you for your help." Hiro nodded to her, his smile broadening.

Sayha wasn’t sure good of a thing it was for her to know Dumah considering the last time she had spoken to him was back when she first started to level. Though, that was something to worry about later. There was still the possibility that she could run into him again before the meeting, which was completely possible. Sayha then listened to Hiro list off the other members. Midori was the co-leader with Hiro and, in Sayha’s opinion, should be the one to go with him, but when Hiro said she was super busy, she shrugged internally. Saeko didn’t seem highly motivated so not having her along didn’t surprise Sayha at all. Artemisia had been job hunting, but she didn’t quite get how job-hunting could be hard. After all, just going regular hunting could earn you a decent sum of money for any expenses she could have. Valerie appeared and reappeared at her choosing so she was unpredictable. Blue was a singer, like Hiro was, but seemed to be much more popular, but she was job hunting as well. Youka guessed Hiro meant that she was the Violent Loli he had mentioned in passing and chuckled under her breath when he mentioned her.
“Well, I’m not planning on being overly busy or job hunting anytime soon,” Sayha said, “I’m glad to help whenever you need it. Though in fairness, expect me to recall some favors in case I need help with something.” Sayha smiled by the time she finished talking. It wasn’t like she needed help at that particular point in time, but it would be good to know that if she were in a bind that she’d have someone she could ask to help her.

[attr="class","capsol"] More than glad, Hiro laughed a bit after Sayha had mentioned that she would expect a few favors in return. "That's only fair. I accept your ultimatum." It wasn't even an ultimatum, either, since he knew that he'd try and pay her back somehow. On a whim, Hiro looked out the window and saw that they were getting close to the station. "We're just about to the station, just so you know. Get ready to-" Hiro was cut off by a ringing in his ear. "Oh, one sec." He was being called by someone over the telepathic link that they all shared. Raising a hand to his ear, he spoke. "Hey, what's up?"
"Boss, got some bad news." The surly voice on the other side spoke. "Looks like we built the tracks a bit too close to the water, and a massive wave came over and knocked down the supports to one of the tracks on the Isle."
"What!?" Hiro shouted, immediately moving to the levers and powering everything down. "Where was this at? Are you there right now?" Hiro could hear the waves in the background, but he didn't know if the man on the line was even near the tracks.
"It's a while down the track, about halfway through the run. I know you're on a train right now, but if you could just drop it off at the station, we can take care of the rest." The man said, letting out a grunt. "So much for a day off, right?"
Hiro returned a grunt of his own, though it was more like a sigh. "Yeah, sorry about that, Marco. Had no idea it would happen." He resumed control over the levers and brought them back up to speed. They would need to get to the station, and leave from there. It was far too dangerous to keep going along the route, even if it was just that one section that went bad. "I'll head over there later on to see what's up, but I have a bit of a promise to keep for a little while. Can I leave things to you for now?"
"Yeah, sure thing. You do what you've gotta do. We'll make sure everything's safe for the time being." The man on the other line said, triumphantly. "You're paying us overtime for this, you know!" He said, jokingly.
Hiro chuckled. "Yeah, yeah, I know. Thanks for your hard work." After he brought his hand back down, he looked out the side of the train, and saw the station in the far distance. "Welp, bit of bad news, Sayha." Hiro began, as he started to slow the train down. Having turned all the knobs and adjusting all the levers, he knew that the train would stop inside the station. After he made sure of this, he turned around. "It looks like a section of the track up ahead has been damaged by the ocean, making it too dangerous to keep on with this route, for now. I had it built too close to the water, and a big old wave came ashore and wrecked it. It'll take some time to repair, which I'll be off to do in a bit, but if you want to, we can go ahead and make our way to the Guild House for a bit, so you can get to know some of the people there. I'll leave that up to you, though." Returning to the gauges and everything, he started to look over it all once again. He needed to make sure that the train would come to a stop at the station, while he waited for her reply.

Sayha chuckled under her breath when Hiro accepted her “ultimatum” even though it really wasn’t one. It wasn’t like she had anything planned at that particular moment in time. Having back up on call would be nice, especially since Hiro was both a tank and max level. She was slowly working on leveling, though she had been kind of distracted as of late due to the whole train commotion going on. Hiro said that they were getting ready to approach a station when he cut out suddenly. When he put his hand to his ear, she realized someone was calling him via the telepathics which meant it must have been important. While studying Hiro, she figured that something didn’t sound good or that there was some sort of problem, and she saw Hiro go to flip some switches which made the train slow down. Hiro, once he was done, apologized to her and explained that some of the tracks up ahead were damaged by the ocean since they were built too close to the water. That definitely didn’t sound good. Iron plus salt plus water did not bode well in any world. Hiro said that he would be helping with the repairs, but he offered to take her by the guild house first.
“Going to the Guild House sounds good,” Sayha replied, “Though, are you sure you got the time? The repairs sound like they may take a while, and I don’t want to pull you away from this for too long if it needs to get done.”
