The sun was rising in the distant horizon, staining the sky with a bloody orange. The orb floated just beneath the crest of the earth, steadily coming closer and closer into view. The light from the morning sun shined down on the Isle of Thule. It illuminated the island, its light piercing through the once stormy air with little resistance as it played its part in bringing life back to the landscape. However, today was different. Even with the storm having passed, the Isle of Thule was silent. No animals stirred from their beds, no birds sang their morning songs, and not even the wind dared cross the land. War raged within the island’s boundaries and all through the night, the sounds of battle had rung out like an unending epic poem. Four Adventurers lay siege to the Isle’s temple, but so far their attempts at victory ended only in their deaths. Again and again, they threw themselves through the doors and down into the stone depths. They approached the fountain within and brandished their weapons, their hearts and minds steeled as the creature within emerged from the watery depths. Hirosame, Capsule, Ryker, and Saber were the names of the brave four… And their enemy? The Genius Crab and Traveler, Brachyura. They tried for many hours in an attempt to break free from the cycle of death, solidifying their strategy. Now, as they spawned outside of the doors once more, they finished putting together the last piece of their strategy, it was the key to their success. Ready, the four walked down into the temple and pushed open its doors once more. They marched inside, weapons at the ready. At the center of the room, the fountain began to rumble. Hirosame took the front with Saber at his back. Behind them, Capsule and Ryker readied their tools to support the two warriors. Just above the fountain, a bright blue orb appeared and began to swirl about its central point of gravity until finally the beast emerged. The orb exploded into a brilliant blue light and Brachyura appeared from within, its body slamming down into the water with tremendous force. Its claws caught on the edge of the fountain, pulling its heavy body out of the water and onto the stone floor. The massive red shelled creature hissed with anger as he took his place on the stage, his body looking weak as he slouched forward. His violet eyes blinked several times as he glanced at the party ahead of him; it was them… The three Adventurers whom had made him look like a fool! “Return it…” Brachyura sneered, his voice a deep, watery rumble as his claws lifted from their slumped positions. Yes, there they were… The ferocious Monk who had fought him with just his hands, the nimble and tricky Assassin who had used an arsenal of weapons to break his body apart, and the Mage who controlled all of those beasts that fought him along with that strangely haired fool… Brachyura remembered the three of them well and simply seeing their faces angered him. They had stolen his precious stone and had made him a joke amongst the others. He was now an exile amongst the Travelers and was doomed to remain where he fell. Those three… They would pay with their lives! “RETURN THE PEBBLE YOU STOLE!!!!” Brachyura roared, his body cracking to life as he snapped his claws at the distant four. He was going to take back his Pebble and regain the power they took from him! He was going to take their puny little humanoid bodies between his claws and snap them into pieces! It was time for their punishment! THIEVES MUST BE PUNISHED! -Raid Info-:Health:

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro had never fought a harder battle in his life. This was something completely new to him. Having died so many times in this instance, along with Saber, Capsule, and Ryker, he was starting to get a bit tired of this fight. And a little annoyed. Maybe a bit mad. Possibly pissed. Or, perhaps he was something more akin to this. Maybe Hiro was a little off color with this whole Brachyura v2 idea, but if it meant what the rewards at the end were real, then he had no reason to not give it a shot. But, spending an entire night fighting the same thing, over and over again, was more than enough for someone much like himself to become a bit irritated with everything involving this monster. Having fought him the first time was enough to bother him with. Now he had to go through this shit? As many times as he had before now, he had to do it again. But, this time, the crew had a firm strategy to react to pretty much everything that this bastard throws at them from this point on. There would be no way that they can lose this time, without getting at the very least, tantalizingly close to killing this guy. The monster spawned once again, a little after they had entered the room. It looked pissed. Good. From what they had gathered before, the monster resets every time they come in and fight it again, though it remembers everything that they had all done before when they had first beaten this thing. Luckily enough for Hiro, he focused mainly on a beat-rush style of skill. As he had been explained by Capsule, she relied on Gauze to help her through most of the fight, while she still had a majority of her own abilities kept to herself. Given the information that Saber had provided, it seemed like he focused on dealing much critical damage, while swapping from ranged to melee. Ryker had yet to even attempt fighting this monster, so they could rely on him for an extra bit of spontaneity, and throw Brachyura off balance a bit. With all of this in their favor, he knew that they would definitely have an edge against this bastard. Mostly because they knew all of his moves by this point. Brachyura was gonna go down, whether he liked it or not. "Let's go." Hiro muttered, loud enough for everybody to hear him. He immediately darted off and to the left, looking to try and position himself away from the party. Basics of this fight, as the tank, meant that he would need to try and keep everybody else out of the way for any splash damage. He immediately used Rafting Taunt to gather up the monster's attention. "Sushi for dinner tonight!" He shouted, slamming his fist into the monster's body. He continued to attack the monster, seemingly uncaring of its initial reaction to his challenge. He knew what to expect for the time being, as they had been through this phase far too may times by this point. He knew what to expect exactly by this point, and knew when to dodge back and avoid the attacks. However, at this moment in time, he was going to be rather offensive, since he had had enough of fighting this son of a clam. Hiro continued to do his dance, while the others situated themselves in their proper locations. This would be the last time that Hiro would need to fight this monster, and he would damn well make sure of it. [attr="class","solcap"] "Mrgrgr..." Capsule was tired of doing this fight back when it was just regular old Brachyura. So repeating this instance several times was especially taxing. Back in the real world, where she could just take a two minute to break to grab a soda or something, constant failure of a dungeon would only be somewhat annoying. Sure, she would gripe under her breath about the lack of process, while her louder and bolder friends would just bitch each other out over a skype call, but at least they would not have the displeasure of experiencing death. For someone who had evaded that horribly sweet kiss for her career up until now, the first time was incredibly jarring. If given the luxury, she might have brooded over it for an hour or more.
But time was of the essence.
Capsule was refused to give up, no matter how many times she was vanquished by the abominable crab man. She had her eyes set on getting that overskill; it was the only reason she had even bothered with the damn side quest. All to bump herself up a level, and acquire something most people could only dream about: a way to break the system that was entirely acceptable to this world, and have something truly unique to herself. She was going to crack that shell open.
Her combat crystal ball joined her side once more, as she opened the generic pages of her grimoire. Ryker was a her side once more, with the rest of the men closer to the front. Capsule casted Keen Edge on the party for what felt like the millionth time. Ideally, they would no need to utilize the full hour buff. She then shot a faint white-blue beam at the crab man, a skill known as Karma Drive. That would grant a ten percent chance to deal a critical (and double damage) blow. In turn, it would give the crit dealer a small refund of mana expended. That was mostly for the benefit of Saber, who was their DPS. For Hiro and his low cooldown Monk skills, Capsule buffed him with Cast-On Beat. It was really good for lowering the cooldown of tier one skills by a second; the higher tiers only got a half second decrease. Last but not least, Capsule buffed Ryker with Magi Howling, so that he could spam heals without suffering from mana strain.
For Brachyura himself, Capsule used Thorn Bind Hostage, to briefly anchor him in place. It would damage him if he tried to break free from the bondage (which she was expecting, since even bosses could be dumb). For herself, Capsule only summoned up her Gehenna Swarm, though her grimoire was firing non-elemental magic bolts in between skills. Now that she had gotten the buffs and debuffs out of the way for the moment, she could focus on attacking the monster with her few offensive abilities. ...And keeping an eye on Ryker, while she was at it. The tiny Cleric might get a bear hug if he attempted anything foolish, like last time. [attr="class","topBox"] [attr="class","bgBox"] [attr="class","actualBG"] [attr="class","nameBox"]Saber Level 90 -- Assassin
[attr="class","titleBox"]This broken glass is all I've got left! [attr="class","textBox"] “I don’t understand.” Saber lay on his back, flattened out as he rematerialized in the world of the living. How many deaths was that now? Five? Six? He couldn’t count and he had actually lost count three times by now, maybe more. The feeling of death was a little much and it was straining his mind. This crab thing had come back from the dead and now it was completely obliterating him, along with the three others he was here with. They had been drawn together by the thought of leveling up beyond ninety and now, it seemed almost pointless. This damned boss was honestly too damn annoying and it almost seemed not worth it. Even for Saber, who had thought himself almost invincible, this was too much. He had never thought he would have experienced death in this world, nor did he think he would experience it this much.
Sitting up, Saber looked towards the distant temple and wiggled his nose beneath his scarf. The bastard crab beyond his sightline was one of the biggest, baddest thorns in his ass he had ever come across, and Saber had fought with some big thorns. No matter what they tried, the party kept wiping. Over and over, the four marched down almost to their deaths right from the beginning. There was almost no end to it and it seemed to be impossible. Brachyura was just too strong and the healer, Ryker, seemed unable to keep up. The shrimp foxtail seemed to mess up the strategy almost every time, especially that once… The idiot, they were so close but no. No he just had to be a dunce who couldn’t follow instructions.
“Whatever…” A light sigh escaped the Assassin’s lips as he lifted himself from the grass, standing up tall as the others recovered as well. Capsule seemed just as annoyed as he did, and Hiro looked pretty pissed. Saber didn’t blame him. Inside his own stomach, Saber was angry as well. He wanted to make the damned crab cry out for its mother as poison filled its eviscerated body, and Saber was more than content with that outcome. However it seemed like they weren’t getting anywhere close. But, there was one good thing to their continuous wiping; they learned the fight, Brachyura didn’t. It was a trait that gave them an edge, and one that Saber thought of as a blessing in disguise. They retained the memories of their deaths and defeats, but Brachyura returned to the version of himself that he was before; any memories of the current battle vanished from his mind.
Once everyone was ready, they descended down into the pit again and Saber drew his bow and an arrow, twirling the projectile in his right hand a few times as he walked. Upon entering the room, he moved to Hiro’s back left and placed himself between the Monk and the two mages. Brachyura wasted no time in coming to the field and as the sight of the light, Saber’s face hardened. He snarled beneath his scarf and twirled his arrow much more aggressively before finally he snapped his fingers down on it. The massive, oversized crab-man slammed down into the water and then pulled itself up and out. Saber’s eyes opened a little and he felt a heat boil within his chest. Anger and rage filled the Assassin at the sight of the stubborn boss. This time, they were going to kill it. After dying so many times, they had come up with a strategy that was prone to work and if not, they had plenty of leeway to work with to keep them from wiping again. If all else failed, they could just use Ryker again for a few moments but hopefully things wouldn’t get that bad again.
Brachyura rumbled something about the pebble, but Saber had turned off his hearing when it came to the damned meat-shell. It was an annoyance that needed to be put in its place, and this time Saber was ready for it. The Assassin lifted his bow and nocked his first arrow as Capsule began her routine; Keen Edge was draped over the party and Saber’s bow reacted nicely to it. Next, she cast Karma Drive on the boss. Upon seeing that, Saber drew back on the bowstring and honed in on his target. Hiro called out the start and rushed forward, his body illuminating briefly as he retrieved a buff as well. Saber nodded silently and stiffened up his posture as he yanked the bowstring taut. An orange sigil appeared on the tip of the arrow.
Saber waited, his eyes hardening as he stared down Brachyura. There were no more chances. This time, they were going to finish it. This time, they were going to break open that red shell and were going to end the pitiful life of the crab. As Hiro engaged, striking the crab and gaining its Aggro, Saber’s bow twitched. His aim adjusted and he focused on his target. Hiro shifted left and as he did, Saber fired. The arrow shot forward and zipped through the air, its shaft twisting and twirling as it flew in a small arc. Then, it stabbed into Brachyura’s upper left arm. The iron arrowhead dug into the crab’s upper left arm’s elbow and buried itself inside. Just as it vanished within the weakpoint and dug into the tender flesh beneath the shell, the orange sigil illuminated and activated. Suddenly, the arrow exploded and cracked the shell from beneath and burned some of the crab’s flesh. Shortly after the first arrow came several more. The Assassin went to work, pelting Brachyura with arrows.
“This asshole….” Saber rumbled within his throat as he watched one of his arrows break on the crab’s hard shell. In response, Saber dug two more into the crab’s arms. Already, its health started to decline and Saber’s eyes relaxed a little as he began to orientate himself. He glanced over his shoulder towards where the mages were and then looked to Hiro. Slowly, Saber shifted forward and placed himself at the mid-point between the two. There, he continued his ranged assault.

Post by Ryker on Oct 17, 2015 5:22:27 GMT
The White haired Cleric opened his eyes as he spawned back in, but he didn’t move. Not an inch. The short foxtail remained flat on his back and stared towards the sky above, motionless and wordless as he quietly thought over what the hell was going on. One minute, he was fishing. The next minute, he was being swooped into some kind of questline by some mage dude who decided to walk up to him. The guy had asked Ryker to help with catching some crab for lunch, so Ryker had agreed. Ryker collected his fishing gear, packed up everything including his lunchbox, and happily trotted along to the location he had been instructed to go. Upon reaching his destination, Ryker found himself on a beach and then on a boat and then suddenly on a lonely island with three other players. It happened so fast, and so stupidly, that by the time Ryker could even question what he was doing with his life, he was already recruited and in the party. When he was added to the list, he noticed a strange consistency with the other three. For one, they were brand new faces. They were also level ninety. That was a red flag, a big bright red flag that wagged its terrible tail right before Ryker’s own eyes. Before he could object, the boat that had taken him to the island returned to the ocean and abandoned him with the other three players.
“Why…?” Ryker said aloud and in a very, very strong monotone voice. He was fine with dying, that didn’t bother him much because after some time, Ryker understood that he lived in a game. There was no denying it. This world was a completely different one than where he had been in before and there was no getting out. It was pretty much like living in some kind of fairy tale land so getting pegged a few times and crunched by a giant claw wasn’t too much of a problem for Ryker. Now, the problem was the fact that he was still here doing this. There was no need for him to be here and there was no reason for him to even attempt this stupid raid. Ryker was a level one Cleric who just wanted to fish. That was it. He didn’t want to fight, he didn’t want to do any kind of support role, and he certainly didn’t want to throw himself at a crab and die thousands of times without any sort of success. But the other three damn well wanted to, it seemed. They were willing to pretty much sacrifice him to do it too. Bastards.
Ryker tilted his head over to his right and stared out towards the distance water that would be lingering beyond the trees and the unseen beach. He wondered what kind of fish were in the waters around the island and he wondered if he could even capture them. With his skills, probably not but it would be worth a shot. Thule was an uninhabited island which meant that the fishing pools had been preserved. If that was true than the catch would be great a few meters from the shore, as long as he had a good boat that kept him from being nibbled on by some curious sharks. That was what he needed; to go fishing and then be devoured by some oversized killer animal. As if getting smacked around by a crab wasn’t good enough.
Ryker let out a rumble and then sat up; watching as the other three picked themselves up off the ground and already had made their decisions to try again. Ryker just wanted to sleep now more than he wanted to fight. He had been up all night with these guys and he wasn’t built for this kind of stuff. He was built for sitting on a pier or on a beach and throwing a line out into the water. Heavy lifting? Forget it. Stressful activities? Nope. RAIDING? OH GODS NO, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT?
“You guys are just way too persistent…” Ryker said aloud as the three started to walk down into the temple. He let out a huff; ignored again. Bastards. What was he, chopped liver? Ryker thought himself somewhat useful but then again, he had botched at least three out of the hundred strategies proposed simply because he’d rather cling to a column than face an oversized, man-eating crab from the depths of hell itself. Was that so wrong? Not wanting to be devoured? Ryker thought so and that was exactly why he chose to run away when the massive beast glanced at him. That was also probably why he kept dying.
“I’m such a good support.” A heavy sigh escaped the cleric’s lips and he pushed himself off the ground, brushing himself up before he trotted along after the others. He kept to the rear of the pack and tucked his hands neatly in his pockets as he followed along. The other three prepared to fight as the massive crab guy spawned back in and Ryker quietly lined up his healing spells again. He had got into the rhythm of what skills would be the best to use and due to the buff given by the zone, Ryker was now level ninety as well and could use almost all of the available skills to him. That was actually pretty cool and he enjoyed it, but his inexperience in combat had got the better of him. Hopefully this time he would be more useful than before.
As Capsule started to cast her spells and the two other guys prepared to fight, Ryker let out a heavy yawn. He wanted to nap, it was nap time. Could it be nap time? Of course not, that would be too easy. Due to it not being nap time, Ryker made it pants time and adjusted his clothes. Then, he made it boring-cleric time. As Hiro and Saber started to attack the crab, Ryker began to ready his skills and started to cast them. He first cast ‘Reactive Heal’ on Hirosame to create a sort of defensive-life steal effect and then pegged the Monk with ‘Divine Punishment’, another reactive skill that would cause damage to the crab each time he decided to try and smack the Monk. Once Hirosame had some friendly buffs, Ryker turned away from the fight entirely and trotted over to behind a pillar, his nine-tails swagging behind him non-chalantly as he summoned a statue to the field; Restoration Relic. Every three seconds, the Relic would heal a random ally. By placing it behind a pillar, it was guarded by most of Brachyura's attacks and could be used to its full potential. After placing that statue, Ryker trotted back over to his spot behind Capsule and cast Samaritan on himself.
His turn coming to a close, the Cleric aided his party-buddies by attacks Brachyura with a few basic Cleric magic attacks and some spells; he placed a mine directly at Brachyura’s feet and also summoned a Martyr Spear that he threw at the oversized crab. After that, the Cleric tucked his hands back into his pockets and began to rock on the soles of his feet. His MP was recovering steadily and Hiro’s health wasn’t waning very much yet so Ryker elected to save his energy. Though, he did cast a quick Cure spell on the Monk, just in case.
“Hey Capsule, have you ever thought about going fishing? You've got a nice body for it. You could probably swim through the water pretty easily.” Ryker’s fox ears twitched as he spoke and he looked at the Enchanter’s back, his eyes checking the status of his allies every half of a second to make sure they didn’t suddenly fall over and die on him. That would create more work for him to do and that was just… too much.

Yes this is how it would all end, the tale of his binding to this fountain and Brachyura’s fated victory! The Pebble of Philosophy was the chain that held him to the waters and it was going to be his release. After being slain and having it stolen from him, Brachyura realized that the only thing he needed to escape from his prison was to use the Pebble the way it was meant to be used; he would assimilate with it and acquire its power. In doing so, he would transcend time and join the others in the Stars above! At least, that was the vision he had during his dying moments. He saw light, felt heat and power, and then saw the Pebble. The Pebble was the key as it always had been, and it would lead him to peace!
“uuuURAAAAAAAHHH!!!” Brachyura snapped his claws and raised them up high in a show of strength and ultimate power as the Adventurers moved towards him. This would be the fight to end it all! He was going to rip the Pebble from their corpses and free himself! Today, Brachyura would become a Celestial!
“You petty fools could never understand the true power of the Pebble!!” The Monk rushed into Brachyura’s range and the oversized Crab immediately engaged, his claws coming down like thunder as he smashed them into the ground. The Monk evaded one, but Brachyura struck him swiftly with the second, grazing his torso before the Adventurer began to strike. The crab felt his shell be smashed by the heavy fists and rumbled within his mouth in anger. With several swift blows and parrys, Brachyura staved off most of the initial damage, but then a heavy feeling chained him down. He felt several magical bolts stab into his shell and glanced down to see chains appear from the floor. He glanced left and gurgled as he saw the distant Enchanter; she was binding him?! A moment later, arrows focused on one of his claws began to connect. A heavy explosion caused the crab to flinch and he felt a terrible heat in his upper left arm. His elbow was stiffened and became difficult to move, green blood leaked from the wound. Another look over revealed the Assassin. Those fools! He would show them true pain!
Brachyura tugged at the chains and ripped them from the floor, keying one of his skills at the same time; Terra Orbital Kick! Brachyura lifted his legs, swinging them at the Monk in a ferocious kick to separate himself from the Adventurer, and then slammed them heavily into the floor. The chains shattered with the force of the impact, and Brachyura felt a pain fill his body as the ground cracked and split. The crabman snapped his claws tight and roared as several rocks rose into the air.
“You think that was pain?! That was nothing compared to the pain I’ve felt!” Brachyura roared as the feeling of ripping muscles spread throughout his body. Using the strength in his legs, Brachyura lifted and spun himself, smashing the lower halves of his legs into the stones as he launched them at the Enchanter and the Assassin. He sent two massive stones towards them, flinging them at a high velocity in an attempt to smash them into the ground. When Brachyura landed, he formed a massive amount of water in his mouth and then fired it towards the small Foxtail; the new face in the fight. The water was formed into an oversized bubble and darted through the air, moving straight for the Cleric. After his ranged attacks were fired, he glared towards the Monk and attacked the red-haired man with another ability; Four Arms!
“I will take back the Pebble!”

[attr="class","capsol"] As the rest of the team started to get into step, like they had practiced doing so so many times before, Hiro continued on with his attacks. He knew that this monster was likely more than willing to send them to an early grave, once again, and that would be the next course of action, whether they wanted it to be or not. Unless, they defied fate. After having tried through this fight so many times before, he realized that he was playing incredibly defensively, and he needed to be more offensive as a result. As such, he had tried to pick up the offensive side while letting Ryker tank it, focusing on healing himself. That proved to be quite effective, up until Ryker exploded after one attack. No amount of healing could have saved him, and as such, the party wiped. Hiro made a note from then on: No more healer tanks. He would stick to his role for the time being, and decided that he would go ahead and and do all the main tanking, while Ryker would keep him alive. Should he need it, Hiro would use one of the items that he had Capsule make a while back, so as to keep him from reaching a bad number. These were to be used in do-or-die situations, when the survival of the team was on the line. Until then, he would refrain from using them. For the time being, Hiro focused on both offense and defense in moderation, since he figured that Saber would do a majority of the damage. Speaking of which, he saw that one of the arms was definitely getting beaten up pretty bad. Smirking, as he always loved to see this bastard getting beaten the hell up, he continued his barrage for a few moments longer. And then, the on-cue action: Four-Arms.
Hiro knew that this move would be coming up quickly, so he activated Eye of the Tiger to give him a sudden boost of speed. His eyes transformed into orange colored cat eyes, and he vaulted over to the side, dodging a fair bit of the attack. He knew that he wouldn't be able to perfect the dodge, but he could still move when he had the chance to. He was now circled further to the beast's side, and began to assault it with his fists further. He wanted to refrain from using any skills, as he would love to keep as much MP as possible for dodging, or aided defenses, such as with skills like Iron Body or Iron Rhino Stance. As such, he deactivated Eye of the Tiger, and resumed his attacks as normal. He would love to help out Ryker at this point in time, but that wasn't what he needed to do for now. He needed to keep the monster's aggro, so that Ryker could be broken out, and that everybody else could do their jobs for now. As such, Hiro would be ready to move at a moment's notice, whenever the next scheduled attack would be.
For knowledge: Used Eye of the Tiger to boost speed, and dodge the brunt of Four-Arms. Some damage will still apply.

[attr="class","solcap"] After doing his part in buffing the team, Ryker did a little foxtrot to a pillar, out of the line of fire. He had a ridiculous amount of tails for such a short figure. Capsule had a hard time ignoring the way his little tails swished from side to side. The urge to tackle him and roughly pet the fox person had long faded after duking it out with suped up Brachyura, however. Once or twice she had grabbed him by the tails to yoink him out of danger (Hiro why), and could not appreciate how soft they were at the time. This time was no different from the last, of course; she had to keep her efforts focused on the crab man, and not the mystical flickering of the nine- tails.
Wait, what? "Fishing? No. I can swim, but I don’t know how to fish." She could probably get Aleksei to teach her someday. Bears were like, natural fishermen, were they not? A brown bear could snatch a spawning trout out of the water with minimum effort, and could do just as well when the fish were not clogging up the streams. So she figured the same could be said of a polar bear, which often had to dive underwater for its meat… and maybe have to rely on a circle of ice, like an Eskimo, to -- God damn it, Ryker. Now was not the time.
Brachie was bleeding a shade of ooze that may or may have not been blood. He also looked rather pissed by the damage. Uh oh. And here was Capsule, without her Gehenna Swarm to swirl around and protect her. She winced when the crab man swung his legs at Hiro, who was trying to do the dodgy Monk thing that his class did best. There was no time to see how that ended, either, for Brachyura had something nasty in store for her and Saber: flying stones.
Rather than run or attempt to dodge, Capsule instinctively summoned up an Astral Wall in front of her and the Assassin. Thanks to her little Jack Frost Strap, the duration would be extended by four seconds… unless the crab man could break it down somehow. At best, it could only buy them enough time to get out of the way, and give Hiro plenty to redraw aggro. Capsule, for example, did not stay put after throwing the wall up. She made a break for a broken pillar opposite the one Ryker had taken refuge behind. It was shorter, and she had to crouch down, but hopefully Brach was too distracted to notice her. Oh, what she would not do to be able to slip into invisibility. [attr="class","textBox"] One arrow after another fired from Saber’s bow as he launched the volley of iron into the air, pelting the massive Crab’s upper left arm with accurate shots into the joints. He focused in on the targeted limb with the intent of either damaging it beyond repair or simply disabling it. Either one would achieve Saber’s goal and would make the job of taking down the crab a lot easier. Before during his individual fight, targeting Brachyura’s arms wasn’t exactly a necessary tactic. By simply attacking the Crab’s core, Saber was able to do almost the same amount of damage. In this case it seemed like attacking the arms themselves would prove far more useful now. But he could not waste too much time with his petty strategy; Hirosame wasn’t a perfect tank and he wasn’t invulnerable. The faster they killed the crab, the faster they could get the hell out of here.
That was when Saber noticed the Crab’s glancing stare. The Assassin narrowed his eyes and stiffened his core and braced his feet, as if readying himself to move. The Elf’s ears twitched slightly and his hands clutched his ranged weaponry tight. Saber pulled an arrow back on the string and held firm. Capsule bound Brachyura to the floor and it had attracted the massive beast; that wasn’t good. The Assassin glanced over his shoulder towards the two mages and then back towards Brachyura. The creature roared and rumbled, shouting as it fought against the chains. Saber huffed and released the tension on his bow, firing the arrow into the crab’s left leg where the thigh met its body. As Brachyura ripped itself from the floor, the arrow was shattered. Saber’s eyes opened wide and he lowered the bow in his hand, taking a step back.
“O-oh.” Saber was honestly a little taken back by that. He had never seen such a force just destroy one of his arrows without really even flinching or anything. In the same motion, Brachyura slammed his feet into the floor and caused it to shake. Several large stones cracked and rose into the air briefly before the Crab-beast kicked them with a tremendous force. The Assassin opened his eyes and swiftly swung his bow over his shoulders and prepared to dodge, bending his knees and lowering his torso slightly. The rocks smashed into the ground and bounced, spiraling towards him and the mages like missiles. Seconds before they smashed into Saber’s face, a massive barrier appeared out of the air. Saber narrowed his eyes and grit his teeth; Capsule.
Using the barrier to his advantage, Saber bolted forward straight towards it. The first rock smashed into the wall and caused it to crack from the force and the second wasn’t too far behind. Just before impact, Saber jumped up and planted his foot firmly on the edge of the barrier. He launched himself up, stepped on the incoming rock to elevated himself up higher into the air and over the attack completely. With the same motion, Saber launched himself with a trajectory that would put him right at Brachyura’s position. Swiftly, Saber reached to his hips and yanked free his two blades, snapping them into a reverse grip as he started to drop. As he closed in on Brachyura, who had turned its attention back to Hirosame, Saber rotated his body and cued his skill; Deadly Dance. With a snap, the Assassin spun in the air like a tornado and squeezed his blades tight.
Brachyura’s weakened armor was no match for the sheer amount of strength the spin had and as Saber came down on the creature’s upper left arm, the black swords sliced right through the shell. The first sword smashed through the shell and carved through a chunk of meaty flesh. The second blade finished the job, severing the arm completely from its joint as it cut through the remaining bit of crabby meat. Green blood splattered out from the wound and a terrible stench spread like poison, causing Saber to gag a little as he landed on the hard floor. Without hesitating, Saber moved forward and sliced at the Crab’s legs, darting through them quickly before bolting out and escaping. Brachyura wasn’t so stupid. Brachyura slapped Saber’s back as the Assassin fled, launching the Elf off his feet with a painful crack. Saber winced and coughed, the strike forcing all of the air in his lungs out as he was twisted.
“This freakin’ crab!” Saber used the momentum of the hit to his advantage and loosened his muscles, letting his body twirl in the air until he was a few feet off the ground. As he came down, Saber tapped his feet down and kicked back up, flipping backwards and landing in a more controlled position. He skidded a few inches but thankfully, he only sustained damage from the smack itself. Saber let out a heavy cough and glared towards the crab. Well, that was a cheap shot.

Post by Ryker on Oct 30, 2015 23:07:30 GMT
The backside of the Enchantress steadily became an imprint on Ryker’s mind as he stood there, staring at her with his near-perfect vision. As she cast her spells and he did his spells, supporting the other two males that were casually duking it out with the crab, Ryker imagined a few lecherous things. He could’ve helped it, but he let his mind wonder. Steadily, slowly, he stripped the woman with his mind. The corners of his lips curved upwards and the nine tails behind him whisked steadily, slowly, and mindlessly as he entranced himself with his thoughts. She had answered his question, or well sort of side-skirted it but that was okay. If she wanted to fish, he could teacher her how to fish. Yes one day, under either the rising sun, the setting sun, or the hovering moon, Ryker could teach this woman how to fish.
She was much bigger than him but those details didn’t exactly matter much. Sometimes, being smaller was a bonus. His face could probably fit snuggly on her che---Oh jesus she didn’t have much of one. She should grow one. Then he could use them like pillows if he ever challenged her to some kind of duel with a stupid condition attached to it. Though, both of their classes sucked for Player-versus-Player combat. If they ever did fight, it would probably be slow and drawn out. But, the other way to do that stuff would be fishing. Yes under the rising sun, the setting sun, or the hovering moon, he could teach this woman how to---Wait, didn’t he just think that?
“Focus…” Ryker turned his eyes back to the fight and watched as Saber did his ranger danger work, firing his arrows at the massive crab-d00d as Hirosame danced around at the things feet. Annnd then it all went to hell. Brachyura let out some kind of angry noise and decided to try attacking everyone with powerful skills. At first, he broke Capsule’s bindings and then did some kind of awesome-overpowered freakin’ earth bending kick, summoned boulders from the ground, and then punted them like pebbles towards himself, Saber, and Capsule. Like, really? What kind of crap is that?
“NOPE!” At the sight, Ryker turned around and immediately ran away. He was having none of that shit. Nope, none of it. He didn’t bother looking to see how the others reacted or how they defended himself. Nope, he ran. He ran as fast as he could and dove behind one of the nearby pillers as he heard a bunch of loud bangs and smashes behind him. The ground quaked, for Pete’s sake. If that didn’t tell him anything of what happened, he didn’t know. Thankfully though, the health bars of his party mate’s didn’t change much. Hiro’s did, but that was it. Ryker sighed at the sight and stood up, his back to the pillar.
SPLASH
Ryker’s eyes shot open as he heard, and felt, a loud impact just behind him. Before he could look to see what the hell it was, he felt a wave of water come down on his body. He stared forward, dumbfounded as to what the hell was going on as water came from the sky and engulfed him. The drowning-wave lasted only a few moments and even as it passed, Ryker remained standing for a few extra seconds before he finally looked over his shoulder. Oh, that was the bubble thing. When he realized what happened, and that he had effectively, and pathetically, dodged a potentially dangerous attack, Ryker turned around and pointed at Brachyura.
“HAHA! YOU MISSED! …Oh.” As he shouted, Saber was kicked in the back and launched across the map. Ryker shut his mouth and got back to clericing. He cast Heal on Hirosame and Saber, recovering their Health steadily while mixing in Healing Light. As Hirosame was the main aggro-guy, Ryker made sure to keep him up with extra shots of health. Reactive Heal helped, but not as much as he initially thought. Once the health bars were up just enough, Ryker pulled out his sword and hugged his pillar. He poked the sword out to the left of his cover-piece and leaned out his head just enough to see where he was looking. He focused his mana into the blade and once enough was set, he fired it.
“Judgement Ray!” Ryker spat and then his sword turned into a bright red flare of doom. Out from the tip a massive ray of deadly magic burst out and shot through the battlefield. The ray pierced Brackyura’s core and cut straight through the armored crab without any bit of resistance. Though, the shot would probably generate a lot of aggro so once he fired his skill, the cleric tucked back behind the pillar.

The heavy claws of the crab assaulted the Monk with speed and raw strength, but their accuracy was nothing to speak of. The nimble player evaded much of Brachyura’s attack, but one of the four connected; it was a firm strike to the Monk’s torso. As the Monk worked to dodge and evade, Brachyura used its claws to move the player into the arc of its lower left arm. The strategy worked, for the most part, and the claw collided with the Monk’s body. However, Hirosame’s quick thinking and skill usage allowed the Monk to avoid the full brunt of the strike. Damage was done, but the full amount was shaved off by a matter of inches. Ryker’s healing regenerated much of the damage and the green light which illuminated the Monk caused Brachyura’s anger to flare. The Crab began to let out a roar, but then its body was struck with a heavy strike and its torso twisted. Glancing left, the Crab Monster watched as the Assassin shattered its thick armor with one of his blades and then finished the monster’s upper left arm with another powerful slice. Pain shot through the Crab and the hot anger turned into a fit of pure, boiling rage.
Its eyes shifted from the Monk and the Crab attempted to strike the Assassin, but Saber was just as quick on his feet. He slipped beneath the Crab Boss and attempted to escape, but Brachyura would have none of that foolishness! With a hard and quick kick to its right, Brachyura launched the Assassin off his feet and into the air. Several punches in the back cut any celebration short and Brachyura’s eyes shifted back towards Hirosame. The annoying human! Brachyura was going to kill him! The massive crab gurgled and rumbled as it slammed a claw into the ground, attempting to strike at Hirosame again. The next strike, though, did not come from a claw, but from a leg. Brachyura lifted its body back up and swept its leg across the floor in a circular motion towards the Monk. If he dodged up, Brachyura would swing its remaining left lower arm in an attempt to swat the human out of the air. Brachyura then recovered its footing and would turn to face Hirosame, whether he dodged upwards, backwards, or was struck by either of his attacks and threw his claws forward in one, heavy assault.
A moment after its arms launched forward, Ryker’s Judgement Ray shot through the battlefield. The massive ray of destruction blasted through Brachyura’s core and cracked its armor in the back, breaking through it in the center of the impact point. Due to the angle of the attack and Brachyura’s movements, its lower right arm was struck in the attack, causing additional damage to the limb*. Chips of the heavy shielding fell to the floor and damage dealt to the crab was heavy; a critical strike. Hirosame’s fists, Saber’s blades, and now Ryker’s death ray had begun to lower Brachyura’s health at a rapid pace and Brachyura could sense that its life energy was steadily being reduced. Though, the Death Ray had now caught the crab’s attention. Brachyura turned to face the distant Cleric and could sense him through the pillar he hid behind. The Foxtail was a distance away, so Brachyura was forced to stomp closer and began to run towards Ryker’s hiding place. As he closed in, Brachyura was struck by a few of Saber’s arrows. The annoying assailant was answered with a quick firing of the crab’s Purgatory Bubble. However, the Judgement Ray had collected far more of Brachyura’s attention; he would rip those tails right out of Ryker’s abdomen!

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro saw the attack incoming from the floor, but he didn't see the repercussion of what would happen, should he attempt to jump up above it. As the Monk went to dodge the fairly simple auto attack, he didn't see in time the claw coming back in from the other side. Without as much room as he would have liked to dodge it at all, he went to brace himself before the impact. Not that it helped, all that much, since he was still caught fairly off guard with it. The Monk was knocked back a decent ways, fumbling to catch himself. He was unable to, and found himself rolling just a little bit. Eventually, he managed to stop rolling, and got back up and onto his feet, just in enough time for the creature to start winding back for a powerful, crushing blow that would hit him dead on. However, thanks to the little cleric off to the side, a powerful ray of energy had managed to slap Brachy senseless. The giant crab enemy decided that he would soon afterwards face in the direction of Ryker, which Hiro would greatly make the monster regret doing. Never turn your back to an angry Monk.
Hiro took the opportunity to begin charging up some energy in his fist, a blue aura beginning to form in his hand. While Brachy-chan had its eyes focused on where the Cleric was, Hiro took the opportunity that he had been given, and started to charge back and up to the Crab. Hiro launched himself up into the air, colliding his fist with Brachyura's shell, fully activating the move Dragon Rising Uppercut (see notes). Afterwards, Hiro had managed to elevate himself slightly, to which he combo'd together a nice Wyvern Kick off of Bracyura. Hiro planted his foot powerfully into its back, and kicked off with a very hard plunge. The rebound kick allowed him to get some decent elevation off the ground, giving him the perfect amount of height to activate and use another powerful skill, Buddhist Palm. The attack would plant his palm on top Brachyura's body, and emanate out about 5 meters from the impact point. The damage would be applied immediately, and the buff from the attack would take its course onto the Monk, increasing his overall HP and attack power by 10% for 15 seconds.
Hiro vaulted off from Brachyura, and began to make use of his attack bonus, since Saber was using ranged attacks from afar. Hiro landed just on the ground a little ways away, and brought his leg around in a powerful roundhouse kick to hit nothing, forming a yellow beam of energy that moved directly toward Brachyura. The Monk then disappeared into the air, high above Brachyura, as he continued the next part of the skill, Warp Fang. As the projectile hit Brachyura, Hiro's leg came crashing down as a powerful dropkick, to which he followed up by landing just a little ways away from the monster. At this moment, the cooldown for Rafting Taunt was up, to which he immediately used. Letting out a ferocious battle cry, Hiro adopted two of his stances. Iron Body and Iron Rhino Stance were both turned on. Hopefully, this was enough of a damage-dealing combo, that he could regain the monster's attention. Thinking ahead a bit, Hiro opened up his inventory, and quickly rummaged through it to pick out one of Capsule's [Greater Mana Potions] that he had had the Enchanter make a while back. Thanks to the low amount of MP that a Monk had access to, after using the potion, his mana would regenerate a fairly decent amount from all that had been expended from thus far. Hiro adopted a defensive stance, as he waited for the next action.

[attr="class","solcap"] From behind her pillar, Capsule watched as shit began to get real. The Astral Wall was holding up long enough for Saber to take greater advantage of it. Amidst the cracks and the falling rocks was the Assassin, kicking off into the air to perform a deadly dance on the crab man. She had no idea who had the bigger balls; Saber, the now flying nun Assassin, or Hiro, their tank. Having to hold the aggro of that monster… Just thinking about it sent shivers down her spine. She could never do something like that. Bravery was only something Capsule held partially. She felt safer when she could cast from afar, and only preferred close quarters combat when she knew it would go in her way, and not work against her.
Ouch, Hiro went flying too, though not as dramatically as Saber. It was more like watching the crab man bowling and missing the pins entirely. Capsule cringed as Brachy approached the downed Monk, only to be caught off guard by Ryker. Ryker, that wily little fox… There was just a teeeensy itty bitty problem. That hoe, Brachyura, was charging towards the fox like he was at an all you can eat buffet. Hiro should have been able to redraw aggro, but Capsule had to keep an eye out for her fellow support. If Brach came back here, her life would also be endangered.
There was nothing she could do for the bubbled Saber, nor did she think an Astral Wall would be enough to contain Brach, so she had to use that one skill. The little silhouette of the Cleric glowed white as she casted Ethereal Port. This would yoink Ryker out of the way and a meter close to her. Assuming Hiro could not grab aggro fast enough, Brach would be sent sprawling onto his back like Charlie Brown against a football. It would also give Hiro more time to do things, and hopefully Saber could burst that bubble in the meantime.
She pulled Ryker closer to her pillar, and hastily moved to a side that was not in the immediate sight of the crab man, as if that would prevent him from knowing they were there. Holy shit, Ryker had a lot of tails. It took a great deal of restraint to not hug him close while she waited for Brachy to neep off. Thanks to Ryker, she could not throw any attacks or other moves against the crab monster. Not until Hiro could get knuckle deep in that red meat. Due to the ‘fog of war’ aspect of a fight and the inability to accurately predict the future one-hundred percent of the time, as well as Brachyura being a sentient being, the party couldn’t say that Brachyura would always perform a certain action. They also couldn’t accurately pin down who would have his aggro after the different attacks, but they could figure out which attacks were more likely to draw the aggro. In addition to that, the group knew how to deal the most amount of damage efficiently. Though, that ‘fog of war’ came into play quite early, earlier than Saber had expected even with the numerous battles against Brachyura the prior night. Brachyura’s actions were random and reflected the ideal that he was truly alive each time they faced him. His movements, decisions, and responses were the key to that conclusion. Brachyura was alive right now. He wasn’t some random mob-spawn. This damned thing had a brain.
“Welp, there goes that.” Saber sheathed his swords and exchanged them for his bow and arrows again, watching as the Crab boss was blasted by Ryker’s beam of holy light. Saber had seen him use that laser thing once before earlier in their fights, but because of its high aggro it was decided that he not use it unless they were in a pinch or unless Brachyura could be easily snatched back to Hiro. The timing put Saber off a little bit, but the distance between the cleric and the now fox-lusty Crab eased his concerns. If Hiro was worth even half of his merit as a Monk-Tank, Brachyura was more likely to be suplexed than he was to reach Ryker. Though, Saber wasn’t about to just sit back and watch it all unfold without doing anything. Thus, he raised his bow and notched an arrow. He fired one, reloaded, and then quickly fired another. From his distant position, Saber launched a small barrage to try and get the crab to at least slow down. Unfortunately, instead of slowing the crab down he simply pissed it off. Brachyura looked towards the Assassin for just a moment and then fired a Purgatory Bubble at him. Saber lowered his bubble and wiggled his nose.
“…Why?” Clutching his bow, Saber’s first instinct was to move. He had to get distance and he needed to be quick. The bubble wouldn’t last forever in the air and if he could put something between himself and it, he could get it to pop. But first, he had to outrun it. With that in mind, Saber twisted on his feet and took off in a mad dash, accelerating in the complete opposite direction. He kept his bow handy and darted for the closest column to him. He kept his eyes forward, not daring to look back as it would slow him down, and pumped his legs as quickly as he could. As he neared the column, he reached over his shoulder and snatched an arrow out of his quiver. One step, two step, three step; Saber activated Hazecloud Vault and jumped straight up towards the column. His right foot touched and he moved upwards higher. He glanced over his right shoulder and saw the bubble arcing upwards, but its size didn’t let it turn as quickly as Saber did. Another step pushed Saber higher and as he neared the ceiling, the Assassin kicked back and shoved himself away from the pillar. The bubble, barely hovering off the edge of the pillar, curved and slammed into the ceiling. Saber huffed and twirled his body around, his mind refocusing on the Crab boss.
With the bubble dealt with, Saber lifted his bow and nocked his arrow quickly. Yanking back on his string, Saber locked in the projectile, calculated the aim for his shot, and then fired it. An orange sigil formed on the arrow’s tip just before it was released and soared through the air like a flare. The Assassin followed the damage trail caused by Ryker’s beam and focused in on the lower-right arm of the crab. The sight line on the distant arm was thin, but as Brachyura moved his bodu moved in a predictable manner. The explosive arrowhead honed in like a missile, its trajectory filled in by the crab as the massive boss moved forward. Just as Brachyura entered the danger-line, the arrow shot through its guard and pegged the inside of the crab’s elbow joint. The arrow head ignited upon impact and blasted apart the damaged shell and a few chunks of flesh. The scent of cooked fish filled the air around the crab as the flame erupted. Saber nodded to himself at the success of his strike, but he wasn’t exactly safe. Now he had to deal with landing…

“Dear Christ no.” The sounds of heavy footsteps caused Ryker’s ears to perk up, and the Cleric’s eyes opened wide. He knew that the ‘laser beam from hell’ skill would draw aggro, but he had hoped that hiding would at least keep him safe for an extra two or three seconds! In those seconds, Hirosame should have been able to get the aggro back! The Monk, with his bare hands, should have been able to punch through the weakened shell and deal a lot of damage.
“Wait, no, Hirosame was attacked. Shit. No, that’s not good.” The realization that Hirosame wouldn’t have been able to attack immediately hit Ryker like an oversized slab of cement falling off of a crumbling building; or simply, it wasn’t good. If Hirosame had been hit by the Crab and pushed back then he wouldn’t have been able to attack right away. Saber had also been kicked, so he was pretty much useless. That meant Brachyura wouldn’t be aggroed by anyone until either Hirosame or Saber recovered from their damage cycles. The Cleric stood up straight and turned around to face the pillar, staring toward his invisible reflection for a few moments. He gulped. Ryker stared at the stone structure for a solid second before slowly, carefully, easily…. quietly… leaning out and checking to see where the crab wa---Oh dear god he was coming right over.
Ryker’s eyes opened up like a deer in the headlights and he stared at the Crab Boss, watching the towering, heavily armored, husk of meaty, muscular flesh as it stomped closer to him. If that thing got anywhere close to him, then the same event like before would happen. Ryker would start to heal himself, try to deal damage, and the others would attempt to bring down Brachyura only to have the Foxtail get pummeled into the ground and eventually murdered like a defenseless rabbit. Yea, that wasn’t fun the first time so it probably wouldn’t change the second. Ryker didn’t want that to happen again anyways. The sheer remembrance of the pain he felt was enough to make the Cleric stiffen up. What didn’t help was that Hirosame and Saber were both out of his view, thus leading him to believe that Ryker was pretty much neeped. And with that being the case….
“NOPE!” Ryker opened up his hand towards Brachyura and began to attack the thing. If no one else was going to attack the crab and do damage, then he would! Maybe! Hopefully! Probably! Oh god he was going to die wasn’t he?! Not this time! Foolish crab! HAH! SUCKER! U GON DAI FI---Ryker don’t forget to attack, k?
Ryker summoned a Miracle Mine in front of Brachyura’s feet, the white circle forming rapidly in the Crab’s path. Just as the Mine finished to form, Brachyura stepped into its deadly circular zone and the mine exploded. He then prepared to fire Martyr Spear, but just as he started the skill his body began to glow. Ryker canceled the skill and glanced down at himself. An instant later, he found himself popping from one location to another. Ryker blinked, his tails whisking curiously behind him as he stared straight ahead, a bit confused and dumbfounded. He backed up slowly, easing his way out of the position he now was and his tails continued to sway behind him… until they smacked into something. Ryker’s eyes opened; did… did Brachyura just… teleport him?
Using his tails, Ryker casually pat at the thing which was behind him and then slowly, very slowly, looked over his shoulder to find himself about to be DEVOUR---
“Oh. It’s Cap.” Ryker retracted his tails and turned around, moving casually behind the new set of cover he had been teleported to.
“Thanks Cap.” He then popped out of cover again, just to point at Brachyura, who was now being pummeled by Hirosame and blown up by Saber.
“I am a ninja Cleric! You cannot catch me that easily!” Ryker boasted happily, his tails whisking behind him excitedly as he cast a few healing spells on Hirosame. Though, the sound of a distant rumble spooked the Cleric and he hopped behind the pillar almost instantly.

The scent of the frightened Foxtail filled Brachyura’s usually clogged nostrils as he clambered in closer and closer to the creature. Yes, he would have vengeance! The foxtail with the most timid, the most afraid, and he seemed to be able to provide support to the others by recovering their life energy. By killing him, it would deal a critical blow to them! What fools! They even left him fully exposed! How dare they show such insolence! Their underestimations of Brachyura’s power would be their downfall and this time, it would be he who would come out victorious! This time, the Pebble of Philosophy would be his!
“raaaAAAAAAAAGGH!!!" Brachyura snapped his claws aggressively as he closed in on the pillar that protected the Foxtail. The little being dared pop its head out and immediately, Brachyura’s eyes locked on to the little runt. Brachyura gurgled with joy and his eyes opened up; Ryker looked at him with eyes full of fear, and it brought joy to Brachyura. Yes, be afraid! Be very afraid!
Suddenly, just before Brachyura could reach the pillar, a black arrow appeared in the corner of the crab boss’s vision. Brachyura’s left foot came sound in a bit of a stutter at the surprise appearance and before he could react to the projectile, the black streak lodged itself into the joint of his lower right arm. The arm was already in pain and Brachyura could feel that it was weak, that was not good! Just as the arrow struck, Brachyura’s fears became even more apparent; the orange glow on the arrow head light up inside of his flesh and then combusted. Just as Brachyura began to recoil from the explosion, he step into a circle of light on the floor that had suddenly appeared. The moment he did, the light erupted into yet another blast. Brachyura let out a heavy roar in pain and anger that filled the battlespace. But how?! He had sworn that he had fired a bubble at the Assassin! HOW?!
Before he could even look to see how Saber had escaped, he felt a gust of wind at his back followed by a tremendous force. The uppercut delivered by Hirosame slammed into Brachyura, his already cracked shell breaking further as the attack struck him directly. The crab stumbled forward, pushed by the heavy force behind the blow. As he stepped forward, Brachyura was pushed downwards slightly by some kind of shove. Before he could recover, Brachyura was slammed into again by another heavy blow. This time, Brachyura slammed down onto his claws and his knees. His life force deteriorated rapidly and the collection of attacks wore him down very quickly. He felt his mind waver and he gurgled as the Monk pounded into him, smashing at his weakened shell with a painful ferocity.
“I… WILL NOT… BE DEFEATED!!!” With a heavy roar, Brachyura pushed himself back to his feet. He would not be killed so easily! These damned Adventurers! They were toying with him, weren’t they?! There would be none of that! No, he was going to kill them! He would kill them all and take back the Pebble of Philosophy! As he roared and found his determination, Brachyura’s body pulsed. Out from within his core, four long tethers shot out and latched onto the four players in the room. On the displays of the players, each was given a number; Hirosame – 1, Saber – 2, Ryker – 3, Capsule – 4.
Now begins the real fight…

[attr="class","capsol"] Things seemed to be going as well as they had been before. Saber had been dealing loads of damage, Ryker had been keeping everybody alive and well, as Capsule had been buffing up their damage, as well as applying her own. Hiro was trying his hardest to tank the big hulking lump of seawater and aggravation, as well as deal what damages he could throughout the duration of the fight. As the last of the arms fell off of the monster, it began to growl and howl, shifting into its second form. This would be one of the more difficult forms by which they would have to fight, as the monster itself would perform a very powerful combination. However, they had been through it so many times before, so they had an idea of how to deal with this monstrosity and his advances. Hiro crouched down, and waited for the first tether to form. Once it had, Hiro would break off into a sprint.
It looked like Brachy meant business this time around, as he had before. Hiro found that he best way to go about this rotation was to have everybody else deal as much damage as possible, including himself, while he neglects his own health for the time being. He would leave it up to Ryker to pick up the slack on his health, as they would all take a small amount of damage after each time the monster used its powerful attack here. So, in the need of having to move fast, Hiro ignited himself on fire, using Hellfire Drive, and accompanied it with the skill Eye of the Tiger. As Brachyura would be charging up this move, Hiro's intense speed and agility would help carry him around the room, gathering up the tethers from everybody. His first target was to meet up with Saber, as he was the furthest away from the party. Hopefully, everybody remembered to move closer to Hiro during this phase, since it was crucial that he take as much of the damage as he possibly can, as well as keeping a lot of the damage off of everybody else. That was the main idea, anyway, as they had practiced before on the earlier iterations of this fight, in this same evening.
Once Hiro had tagged Saber to pick up the tether off of him, he would start to move directly over to Capsule and Ryker, who were, thankfully, directly next to each other. Along with the speed boosts from Eye of the Tiger and Hellfire Drive, combined with the natural movement and mobility of a Monk, Hiro would have been able to meet up with everybody in about 5 seconds time. From there, he would move a little ways further, as the first attack dashes at him. From there, he would stop, as he was a safe distance from everybody else at the moment in time, dropping both Hellfire Drive and Eye of the Tiger, and then strike both of his defensive stances: Iron Body and Iron Rhino Stance. From here, the others would need to pile on the damage, as Hiro would start to pick up the slack during the next rotation. For now, though, Hiro needed to be a tank, and when the cycle goes on it's one-rotation cooldown, he would lay on with the damaging. His teeth gritted, as he stood there and would take the attacks like a man, holding up his defenses as best as he could. When everything was all said and done, and Brachyura's combo would go on its cooldown, is when Hiro would begin to fight again. For now, he just needed to do his job, and do his job well, so nobody else would be put into harm's way.
Notes: Have the party run to meet up with Hiro at designated spots, to make sure all tethers are transferred to him. Saber, move a bit closer to Hiro, while Capsule and Ryker move towards Saber. It'll make a kind of triangle for Hiro to run in, and he should get to everybody before Brachy's attack winds up. Hiro has an extra 10% HP for this post and the next, which should either increase his total HP at the moment, or lower the damage incoming by 10%. Whichever would likely apply.

[attr="class","solcap"] Oh dear sweet Jesus. Ryker’s tails… his tails… were tickling her. There was so much fur. It must take him hours just to bathe. Hell, swimming alone must put quite a strain on the little fox. All that fur, soaked through to the bone… it would definitely weigh him down, but by how much? Over five pounds? Maybe ten? She bit down on the inside of her cheek, cutting off a giggle just in time to see Ryker staring back at her. The tails were quickly withdrawn, Ryker scampering away to heal Hirosame.
It was around that time that Brachyura roared in determination, and the tethers lashed out from his body to link with each player. Capsule was still number four. Woohoo, things were going to really heat up now. She darted away from the safety of her pillar, to take her place in the triangular formation. For too long during this fight, Capsule had been forced to hold back in attacking Brachyura much. Now she could risk throwing in a few hits.
Her first objective was to summon up her Gehenna Swarm for protection. If Brachyura somehow aggroed onto her, the dark orbs would lash out and curse the crab man once again. Beside her, she summoned up not her Snowfield Bear, but her Crystal Reindeer, Kasper. It was a shame that Snow Curtain would deal friendly fire. They could not afford to suffer from extra damage, and the reindeer knew this. He and Capsule shared a quiet bond, and as such, he did not need to be expressly told how to act. He was all too accustomed to aiding his mistress in times of need.
From the tips of his antlers, Kasper fired red and green lasers at Brach. Upon impact, they would hit as hard as any shotgun. This was his only ranged attack, Festive Shotgun. He could keep it up for as much he wanted, basically. Capsule, on the other hand, had a wider variety of skills to choose from. Like Prismatic Laser.
Capsule cracked her knuckles, the pages of her grimoire rapidly flipping as mana condensed and materialized above her, forming a sphere of white light. And then it shattered, splintering into smaller orbs of differing elements. The colorful beams of light crashed down into the ground at the feet of the crab. They burst open, releasing a simultaneous cascade of elemental damage. Capsule exhaled. Her grimoire continued to fire off non-elemental orbs of magic. Hopefully she did not draw too much aggro. Hiro would see to that. Do You Believe in Ghosts?
The wind buffer below the Assassin whipped at him violently as his stomach rose into his throat; the feeling of freefall was sickening. It was something he could never get used to no matter how hard he tried. Saber clenched his teeth and retracted his tongue away from the bones in his jaw. As he hit the ground, he did so hard but even as his toes dug in, the Assassin kept moving. Like a droplet of water, Saber collapsed his body onto the floor and then tucked into a ball, rolling forward twice before slamming down onto a knee. The knee worked like a brake and halted his forward motion, letting the Assassin get control of himself again. Saber let out a huff. Pain in his left ankle made him wince; not the best of landings, but not the worst either. He couldn’t worry about it now though. Now that he was on the floor again he refocused on Brachyura. A tether shot out from the massive crab and latched itself onto Saber’s torso. Saber narrowed his eyes and dared to glance at the boss’s health. From the looks of it, they were now entering stage two, which also meant it was time to shift gears.
Saber twirled his bow and slotted it over his head, locking it tight on his back. The metallic ranged weapon was powerful, but it would prove useless as Saber started to close in on the Crab. The Assassin tucked his nose into the scarf around his face and his fingers folded over the hilts of his swords, sliding the black weapons free once more. They glistened in the dim light of the battle room, Brachyura’s blood still lingering on them from their prior use. They snapped outright in Saber’s hands for a moment before he flicked them into a reverse grip, holding them tight to his arms as he ran towards Brachyura. Hirosame was coming towards him as well, and Saber took an angle that would allow the two to pass. As they did, Hiro snagged the tether off the Assassin. However, Saber quickly stole it back and moved in an arc around the room, picking up the others as well. Once he had all four on himself, like an attack dog that had been let off his leash, Saber opened his stride and closed the gap between himself and the massive crab boss in four steps, his blades twirling into a flurry as he arced around Brachyura’s left side. Brachyura’s attention remained on Hiro for the most part, but the creature’s hands still worked to strike at Saber due to his closeness. Saber huffed and his blades only worked more aggressively in response, shattering through the crab’s hardened shell and tender flesh with loud cracks and splinters.
Due to the difficult nature of the current phase, Saber didn’t waste any time with basic attacks. He knew that time was of the essence and if they wanted to avoid wiping; they needed to stomp Brachyura’s health within a short span of a few seconds. His eyes narrowed and Saber drew in a deep breath. Quickly, he drew up a chain of skills in his mind and moved directly into Brachyura’s face. The massive crab boss looked down in time to see Saber accelerate right into his face. Saber let out a rumble and his body began to blur and his silhouette glowed a pale blue; Stealth Strike. With a heavy crash, Saber twirled his body and his twin swords cut through the crab’s hard shell, splitting it right down the middle. Saber keyed Accel Dance, twirling right and slicing at a claw, leaving his blade lodged in the joint. He stepped back, slipped right, and threw a throwing knife directly up into the shoulder joint of an arm; Explosive Sigil reacted. A massive explosion ripped apart the flesh. Heat and smoke clouded Saber’s body and he vanished, reappearing in the air above Brachyura from behind. He traded his remaining long sword for his twin daggers.
His eyes narrowed and he slashed down, his body smashing against Brachyura as wounds blasted apart all over the creature’s body. Saber cut through the shell, landing a critical blow as Assassinate triggered. Once he touched down, his body shifting from Brachyura’s back to the floor in front of the boss, Saber sheathed his daggers and snatched his short sword, stepping forward and rolling as Perfect Autopsy was triggered. A bubble of mana in Brachyura’s veins blasted through the boss’s body, green blood splurging out from the open wounds as the internal explosion rippled outwards. A second passed and a second being emerged beside Saber, snagged the Assassin, and then threw him back towards Brachyura before vanishing; Doppleganger. As he closed, Saber sighted bright lights coming into view out of the corners of his eyes. He didn’t look back as the lights cut through the crab boss; lasers. Capsule.
The Assassin grabbed onto Brachyura’s open shell with his bare hand and yanked back as he twisted his body sideways, kicking himself over the crab boss’s body as a heavy claw came across to target him. With a pull, the shell cracked from Saber’s strength; a stat he had increased almost as high as his agility. Snarling, Saber pulled out another throwing knife and then dug it into the flesh; Spark Shot poured out of the blade and electrocuted the crab from inside. Brachyura began to move, the boss shifted and swaying as it tried to shake the Assassin off. A claw swiped through the air; Saber flipped over and pulled out his sword swords. As he came down, Deadly Dance keyed and his body began to rotate rapidly, his swords cutting into the crab’s back dozens of times before he touched the ground again. Instantly, Saber moved left and carved out the back of the crab’s left leg. Then, he pulled out a grenade and shoved it into the cut flesh. The pin was yanked as he moved from one leg to the next. Brachyura roared and stomped at the Assassin; Saber dove left to dodge, kicked to his feet, and shoved another grenade into the knee joint on the other leg. Just as he did, the initial grenade blasted out the knee cap of the first leg. Saber felt the wind of the explosion and glared up towards Brachyura, hopping back and skidding into a sprinters stance. The Crab glared down at him but before he could strike, the second grenade went off.
Saber charged forward again, closing the gap between himself and the boss, putting himself right into the monster’s range. Then, his body darkened. Saber’s eyes glazed over and turned into a violent, murderous red color as his entire being melted away into the darkness; Infinite Nocturne activated and the Assassin’s blades clenched in his hands. Brachyura’s claws came down heavy, slamming into Saber’s shadow but his health bar didn’t budge, nor did his body. He stood there, his eyes glaring up towards Brachyura for the short few seconds of the Crab boss’s attacks. Useless. Pathetic. Weak.
“It’ll take more than that to kill me.” Saber snarled and his blades twirled. His skill took effect and as Brachyura’s claws finished attacking and the Boss paused, his own blades danced. Heavy physical blows laced the large being’s body, Saber’s arms twirling and slicing through the weakened shell with ease as the system reacted to Brachyura’s attacks. The Boss billowed out and struggled, his own claws striking at the Assassin but Saber was unaffected by the physical strikes and his blades didn’t slow as he focused purely on dealing damage. With his own damage being dealt along with the others’, Brachyura wouldn’t last in this stage for long.

Post by Ryker on Dec 17, 2015 2:22:06 GMT
At the sound of increased combat, Ryker checked the stats of his compatriots and looked over towards Cap from behind his pillar. She stared off towards Brachyura and then Ryker felt it; he felt touched. The Foxtail squirmed and popped out from behind the pillar to look towards the boss. From Brachyura’s core, some line thing connected the two beings together. Ryker wasn’t the only one with it either; all four of the Adventurers had the line. Ryker’s nose wiggled and he curiously looked up over his head as a number also pinged him. Number three? The hell? What? No. Absolutely not. Was he now marked for death? No, that wasn’t cool. That wasn’t even fair! They had reached his point before, but dammit he had never been third. Sure, fourth. But third? Why? WHAT DID HE EVER DO TO BRACHYURA?
“The laser probably didn’t help.” Shut up, furball.
Ryker looked down at Brachyura and huffed. He drew his sword and wagged it aggressively and threateningly towards the boss, as if daring the being to come at him. He wanted Brachyura to come at him! Then he could beat the living snot balls out of the crab thing! Yes, Ryker would eat hearty after bashing him to bits! Probably not. Ryker would most likely be ripped apart if Brachyura tried to get him; like the last time, and that hurt. A lot. Never again. Rather than do any of that and electing to keep his limbs in one place, Ryker kept to healing and backed up slowly to beside Capsule. The Enchantress summoned up some kind of Reindeer thing (a creature Ryker now wanted to climb up onto and ride like a mighty steed). At its appearance, Ryker kept to simply grinning and walked over to it. He didn’t notice his tether disappearing because of the beauty and gracefulness of the animal. His infatuation suddenly turned into something similar to… love? Yes. He was in love with the beauty of the snow-deer.
“Does this mean we’re going to win this time? Capsule, can I touch it? I wanna touch it. Hey, can I ride up on your back?” Ryker stared up at the Reindeer and spoke gibberish, until its antlers lit up. Ryker’s eyes opened, his throat clenched, and his tails froze up. Lazurs shot out and Ryker looked over to see Saber battling the oversized Crab boss. The lasers pierced through the hardshell of Brachyura. Welp, nope, Ryker wasn’t going to piss off that Reindeer. He turned around and walked away, not a word more. He planted himself beside Capsule, drew up Miracle Mine and Martyr Spear, and flung his attacks at the Boss like a good little cleric. He was going to be a good little Cleric and he was going to live. Anything that decreased his life expectancy was bad right now. Lasers dramatically decreased that number, thus, he would not disturb that Reindeer for the remainder of the fight.
