Fear struck the charcoal feline headed figure named Elphyr, his pulse quickened as his gaze darted about his new surroundings, the plain expression of shock plastered on the face of his avatar. There were some who were in panicked, others which ignored them and went about their daily lives and some who observed like he was doing. Well, Observing was an overstatement. Truthfully, he was panicking internally, and the same questions that aroused from those which were noisy entered his thoughts as well, except of course, ones that asked of the whereabouts of a GM. He didn’t know what that was. He swallowed the lump in his throat, forcing himself not to scream. He was naïve to his current location and the fact that he was trapped in the character he made about what seemed to be less than an hour ago. Well, that was what he assumed at least. He wasn’t sure of how much time had passed between the time he woke and then. “A walk…” He decided in his mind. “I need a walk.” He would ignore the fact that everyone was clothed weirdly, or that there seemed to be no technology. Ignore everything and focus on one thing. Past a few steps, he broke into a sprint, not minding where he headed. He needed something to occupy himself, something that would hopefully calm him down. It was then where he caught sight of the black furry thing attached to his arm. His hands…. Paws? He wasn’t sure. What seemed like hands were covered in black fur. This discovery caused him to halt in his steps. His main goal changed from clearing his head to finding water, a mirror, glass, anything that could allow him to see his reflection. A stall nearby, tended to by a burly old man with a beard, caught his attention. He rushed over, grabbing the hilt of a sword that had been laid out and looked at the blade. “Hm? Aah good choice young man” Was the man’s immediate reaction as he gave a nod of approval with his arms folded. “That there-“He stopped short of his words, cocking his head as he had heard a soft sound escape the feline. “What was that?” he asked, “Speak up kid you’ll never get anywhere mumbling.” “How...?” His voice came out as a slight squeak.

Elphyr had left the merchant, mumbling a word of thanks and something along the lines of having no money. He kept his gaze low and on the ground, pondering on his next move. He vaguely recalled the books he’d read, a series concerning a similar situation and another that involved causing some to enter a state of comatose. He started to wonder if his body had slumped forward on his desk, mashing the keyboard with his face and spilling over his cup to coffee, boy would his mother be mad. He allowed himself small weak chuckle, his mind still hadn’t fully accepted the fact that he was in a game. “Sure, it all feels real…” But one part of him couldn’t accept it… Yet. He looked up, curious of where his feet had taken him. His hands tightened into fists at his side as he suddenly had the feeling that he was wasting time. If he was really there, stuck in the game, then he needed information. “Should’ve checked out some videos on something on the gameplay.” He thought and let out a sigh. He regretted not looking further into the game before playing, he figured that maybe he’d get bored along the way or if he was hooked then would he start his research on it. He had at least vaguely looked through the skills of his chosen class, but not much of it stuck. He wondered if there was a way to check again. Without much hesitation, he began asking around about it. In his attempt, he had mistaken two npcs as players before finally getting to a seemingly higher leveled player who looked less disheveled than the rest about the situation. “’Scuse Me” He said, after tapping the guy on the shoulder. He was greeted by a mildly surprised glance, before a forced smile and a nod. “How do you check the skill list?” Elphyr wondered if he had worded it without it being confusing. He hadn’t had much interaction with many people, he never found himself needing much interactions either as most of his questions were easily solved by a quick trip to the library. His friends were few and only one was close. “Oh, it’s in the status screen, opposite o’ the equipment viewing option.” He answered after a brief pause, gaining only a frown and a confused look from Elphyr. “Status screen…?” Elphyr cocked his head slightly. “How do I access that?” The other player’s eyebrows raised as he finally got why the cat had asked him the question. “You just have to do a motion like this.” He said and demonstrated before getting a sudden call. He held up a finger as if to say wait as he answered it. Elphyr looked at his fur covered hand before imitating the motion, opening up the status screen. His eyes widened for a moment and he blinked to see if it was just his imagination. The first thing he did was check his inventory and equipment. He noticed the flail he had picked when he created his character and the puppet that had come with picking the puppeteer class. The other player had just finished with his conversation when Elphyr had started through the skill list, or, what he had at least. Elphyr vaguely listened and understood that he had to go and muttered a word of thanks as he read through the descriptions, wondering how he would use them in real combat. It would be hard to open the screen. Once he felt that he’d been looking at the options long enough, he started to walk about again, weighing the pros and cons of venturing out of the town like a few he had seen before.
