Sayha smiled slightly when Dorian announced that he decided to be an off-support. From what had seen so far, it was a better fit for him than off-tanking. She saw him in action as a Field Monitor in the train dungeon so she knew that he at least had that capability under his belt. He then continued to say that he was originally off-set by her “aggressive” methods, but he now understood them. Sayha didn’t mind being called aggressive though she didn’t think that was the right word. She just did what she had to do when she saw fit. It was just the way she worked. She smirked though when Dorian said that she was much better at swords than he was.
“Well I better be better at swords than you,” Sayha slightly scoffed, “I used to take martial arts classes on the other side and quite a few of my lessons in the later years was on how to sword fight and dual wield. I haven’t meet any blade dancers that can dance better than my blades, but that doesn’t mean I won’t find them. I’m just not going to hold my breath waiting for them.”
Sayha glanced at her health and mana; they were almost full. She stood up and quickly stretched, “Alright, break is over. Let’s get back to work.” After she made sure Dorian would follow her, she set back of in the woods but decided to head towards where the fields were. It would be easier to maneuver around there than in the forest.

The Shaman noticed the smile that had slightly adorned the elf's features, a sense of surprise filling his own. "I do believe I just saw the vestiges of a smile," he muttered under his breath, chuckling against his throat with amusement. It was nice to see someone who could be so cold on the battlefield actually crack a genuinely happy expression; at least he knew now there was a chance to break through the hard shell and befriend this curiosity-inducing Assassin. Crossing his arms over his chest, he listened as Sayha explained her ability with swords, detailing her time before the Catastrophe. "Is that so?" Dorian nodded his head slowly, humming his innate approval at her abilities. "Well, I don't know about dancing better than your blades, but I guess, given my subclass, I could be considered a blade dancer; which just means I'll have to get good enough to help in you in finding one." He gave her a subtle smile, nodding his head as she stood up and called the break over. Checking his own status quickly, he noted his health and mana had also recovered fully; and with all his cooldowns refreshed and ready, it was time to get back to business. Ignoring the incessant pleas in the back of his mind to summon Skrowe so he could fly around Sayha for a while, Dorian clambered to his feet, dusting himself off out of habit and shaking his torso slightly to let the scabbard strapped to his back settle comfortably on his shoulder. "I'm ready when you are... sensei." Giving a light chuckle, the Shaman followed Sayha through the forest, heading out alongside her to the fields. No doubt she had plans here. Sayha didn’t say anything regarding Dorian’s original comment. She found it interesting that people didn’t think she had emotions at time… then again, there were very few people she saw off the battlefield so it wasn’t incredibly surprising. Dorian did seem slightly impressed about her sword dancing. He then said that he had a subclass of Dancer, which she thought was odd. She didn’t find it very useful, but to each their own. She did smirk, though, when he called her “sensei.” “Sensei is accurate, I suppose,” Sayha replied, “though the most accurate would be ‘shifu.’ The style that I trained was Chinese, not Japanese. Though if you want to call me either, I won’t mind.”
The plains were pretty, well, flat, and Sayha took a good look around. She didn’t see any super-high leveled monsters like she had run into when she was with Hiro… but something felt off. She felt like she was being watched.
Sayha drew her katanas and slowly turned around, she saw a something like a small pumpkin and recognized it immediately, “Get out of its range!” Sayha jumped back, avoiding the explosion. Sayha looked up to see glowing red eyes, but she already knew what it was.
The Ripper Jack floated forward towards both her and Dorian, cackling. It was level 25 which was still lower than her, but it was eyeing Dorian.
“<Quick Draw>,” Sayha dashed towards the Ripper Jack and slashed. It was resistant to physical attacks, but she knew she got enough agro so that it wouldn’t turn and attack the Shaman.
“It’s resistant to physical attacks,” Sayha said, focusing on watching the Jack’s movements, “I’ll help out this time around, but be careful. There might be others around.”

Dorian gave a hummed response, having never heard of the difference between sensei and shifu. "Is that so?" He rubbed his chin in contemplation, still plodding along beside the Assassin before nodding his head. "I like shifu better. Sounds cooler, and as you said, it fits better with the style you trained in!" Turning his head, he gave her a pleasant smile, before rounding himself to attention towards the plains. Compared to the forest, the area wasn't as dark with sickness, though traces still remained dotted across the landscape, like tiny scars left behind by the spawn of the Halloween monstrosities. "Peaceful place; great backdrop for a hunting party, I suppose." He chuckled softly at his own joke, before rolling his eyes as he realised Skrowe was beginning to rub off on him. It was then that the air suddenly dropped, Dorian's body becoming stiff with fear as he felt the presence of something heavy and dark coming there way. "Something's here..." He voiced to Sayha, but it seemed like the Assassin had already picked up on the change. His hand darting up to un-sheath his katana, he was forced to leap out of the way as an explosion went off nearby. Rolling off the ground and hopping back up onto his feet in a single fluid motion, he turned his body to face the direction the attack had come from, watching as the elf ran towards the pumpkin floating towards him, labelled a Ripper Jack by the interface, and it's level... "25?!" Oh boy. Luckily, the Assassin was already to work, launching a strong attack at the dark spirit to grab it's attention off of himself. Phew. Brandishing his blade in one hand, he noticed the same lack of effect Sayha had on the creature's form, though more prominent than it was on the Ghostriders; physical attacks weren't effective in this scenario. Of course, that was when Dorian remembered his skills. "Keep it's attention, I have a way to deal some damage; but I need it distracted!" Hoping she wouldn't mind him calling out a few shots once in a while, he pointed at the Ripper Jack, targeting it completely as he focused his brow, eyes squinted in concentration. Rushing forward, he estimated the 4 seconds it would take for him to reach the Jack, his eyes going wide as he activated his skill. "Demon's Eye!" As the burst of spiritual energy drew forth, his blade took on almost a sharper persona, his eyes suddenly glowing with a blue radiance around their violet hues. "Let's see you resist this!" The 'Demon's Eye' skill had two benefits; the more common one being that strikes were more accurate and decisive, meaning added damage but also enhanced chance of hitting a creature. Within this enhanced chance was the immunity to a spirit's natural resistance to physical attacks, meaning his strikes would hit, and they would hit hard. Lunging his body forward towards the jack-o-lantern, aiming for the pumpkin head that sat atop the Ripper's blackened spiritual body, he slashed twice through the air, cutting at the creature and hearing it scream in pain at the sudden jolts. Rushing around for another assault, he saw the Jack throw another Pumpkin Bomb at Sayha, luckily still aggro'd on her. Noticing the chance for some extra damage, he quickly vaulted himself off the ground in her direction, kicking up and planting the tip of his blade into the ground for support as he swung his foot up, bouncing the bomb straight back at it. Coming back down with a light thud, he fluidly swung his katana back up into his hand, ready for another go. Notes: N/A Words: 610 Tags: @shadowsaiph Party Buff: Heavenly Defense

“That’s what I just told you, you idiot!” Sayha yelled at Dorian as he tried to order her yet again, “Learn to pay attention to others on the battlefield!” She hadn’t said those exact words, but what she said was pretty straight forward, “You order me again, and I’ll watch you die.” She returned her focus to the Ripper Jack. She had dealt with them before, and she watched as Dorian did a small amount of damage. As Dorian was attacking, Sayha called for <Death Stinger> to activate, poisoning her weapons. When he was done attacking, Sayha went for her own attack to keep the agro.
“<Sword Rain Flurry>,” Sayha stabbed the monster in quick precession, and its attention remained on her. She dealt a decent amount of damage on top of poisoning it. She kept moving as she knew what could happen. She had no intention on being bound. Especially not when the Jack sent flying knives at towards her. She was able to deflect most of the damage, but a few made it through. It dealt some damage, but Sayha shook it off easily. She kept moving and dodged the Ripper’s Scissor attack as well.
Sayha quickly just hit the Ripper Jack passively to make sure her poison stayed on it. That would probably be the way that the monster died since it wasn’t resistant to it.
Once her cooldown on <Quick Draw> was up, she casted it immediately. By the way the Ripper Jack was acting, she definitely had its attention.

Dorian winced at the angry yells coming from behind him as he settled back onto the ground, his feet gracefully landing and planting themselves firmly to keep his stance firm. "Sorry, got caught up in the moment; force of habit from my strategist mind..." In truth, he had wanted to practice his own tactics, keeping his mind open and focused on gathering information from surroundings and directing the flow of battle; but he refrained from detailing his true intentions for the time being. After all, with a Ripper Jack bearing down on them, it was a bad idea to start in-fighting within the group. Besides, Skrowe was now berating him for mistreating the Assassin. Subtly rolling his eyes, he swung his katana in a twirl within his grasp, watching and waiting for her turn to redirect the aggro. With a small bit of damage he had done to the monster, perhaps a solid 20 - 30%, he left Sayha to provide some more decisive blows to the creature. Unlike his blade, which kept it's keen edge for cutting through the spirit's natural physical resistance, her own attacks were making little impact, but she made up for it with speed and... from the looks of it, poison. With a flurry of attacks in a matter of seconds, she had managed to drop it's health a considerable amount, as well as snagging it's attention back on her. A clean opportunity for a finish assault! Skrowe's voice rang out in the Shaman's mind, praising the elf's ability as well as calling out the opening. "Just a few more strikes!" Dorian rushed forward, only 20 seconds left on 'Demon's Eye', wanting to make the last of it count. With the poison still coursing through it's incorporeal form, it was slowly descending to death, but it looked like it was readying one last attack on the Assassin. Lunging forward, the Shaman leapt off the ground, stretching his katana out to one side in a clothesline manoeuvre. As he flew past the Ripper Jack, he used the momentum to spin himself on his horizontal axis, striking a slice through the spirit's abdomen twice in quick succession. As he landed with a thud on the other side, the sound of bubbles popping off into the air echoed behind him, and he turned to see the remnants of the once 'living' monster floating away. "That was a close one," he breathed out, turning his head to look over at Sayha. Hoping she wouldn't be too outraged, he bowed his head in thanks, giving her a soft smile before quickly hoisting his blade up to sheath it into his scabbard. "I think we can probably handle another go at this place; tally ho!" He was beginning to get into the spirit of things now, so at least he had that going for him, as he trudged onward past the Assassin towards the expansive plains they still had yet to cover. Sayha watched as Dorian finish off the Ripper Jack. It was okay for a beginner. Though she became very irked when he tried go on. Just as he walked by, Sayha grabbed him by his collar and pulled him back to face her. “Just because you have a strategist-type mind doesn’t give you a pass on listening to others,” Sayha scolded him, “If you haven’t figured it out, I’m a strategist as well. I suggest you be more careful. As for it being a close one, it wasn’t at all. It was 25 with me sitting at 28. Are you improving? Slightly, but you keep moving two steps backwards. Don’t ever jump to conclusions. As for handling another one near that level, that would be my call since I’m the one in charge. If we run into another one that level, you’re staying out of it.”
She paused, making sure that her words sunk in. At that moment, she also saw movement out of the corner of her eye, “As for another beast, I suggest looking to your right as one is about to attack.” Sayha quickly jumped back out of range of the <Pumpkin Slam> attack.
The monster was a Helio Jack sitting at level 10 which was the highest she had seen that kind of Jack. She still had her swords drawn, and there was still poison on them. She thought about just letting Dorian solo it, but she decided against it.
She checked her cooldowns, and intro attack was good. However she realized she could one-shot it so she just dashed up to it and poked it slightly, just putting poison on it. She then jumped back. Thanks to the poison, she had its agro. Hopefully Dorian was smart enough to attack it before the poison dealt all the damage.

The Shaman was abruptly and suddenly pulled back from his stride towards the plains, his joyful demeanour brought down to size suddenly. Blinking softly, Dorian's mind went into a fugue state, blanking for a moment as he realised he had gone off on a tangent during the battle. "My bad," he muttered under his breath, his eyes slightly rolled back as he stared up at the sky. Shaking his head, he brought himself back to reality, gently shrugging himself out of the elf's grasp and stepping back as he recollected himself. "Sorry... I think..." He tapped his palm to his forehead, as if trying to knock himself back into his senses, giving out a cough before lifting his head back up, staring into the Assassin's eyes with an apologetic expression. "I think the aura of this place is affecting me more than it should be; Skrowe is starting to seep into my mind a little bit, making me way too cocky." He humbly bows his head forward, slightly embarrassed about his behaviour. Alas, the two of them weren't given much time to fix things, as Sayha directed him towards the monster that had appeared to his right. Having bowed his head and averted his complete attention to apologising to Sayha, he was caught off guard by the heavy level 10 slam of the large Helio Jack's body, sending him sprawling a few meters away. "Oof!" He quickly righted himself, watching from a short distance away as the elf quickly drew her swords and poisoned the Jack, holding back on purpose. Even now, she was still trying to teach him something. He released a sigh, reaching up to clench at the hilt of his katana as he pushed his mind through the darkness exuding around the plains. He needed to resist, to keep himself separate from Skrowe for the time being... Wielding his blade in his right hand, he didn't bother with showmanship, just wanting to get rid of the creature that was endangering the area around him. With his katana at the ready, he realised she had left the monster for him, finally understanding what she was trying to accomplish with her tanking and drawing aggro. He gave Sayha a silent nod, swishing his blade up to his face before quietly whispering, "For you, shifu." Hopefully she didn't hear that. Rushing forward, he took the initiative, skidding to a halt in front of the creature to make a solid strike at it's form, slicing across it's face. But, before he could impact, the Jack disappeared, reappearing 10 meters away as it charged up a scorch attack towards Sayha. 1.5 seconds was enough to close in about 3 or 4 meters, using the time to cast his 'Leaping Apricot Technique'; he didn't bother to call it, he just wanted this blight on the air dead. As suddenly as the Helio had done, he zipped forward through the air, disappearing from his position to reappear in the air above the Jack; where he once stood, there was the faint smell of apricot, given off by the flower petals that slowly fluttered to the ground. With a crashing slice down upon the large pumpkins head, he felt the crack of his blade cutting in, before the near dead, poisoned monster gave a raspy, flaming shriek and exploded into bubbles. Landing with a thud on the ground, Dorian took a moment to stare at the grass at his feet, breathing heavily from the intensity; with a swift motion, he planted the tip of his blade into the ground, leaning on it as he bowed to one knee, facing the Assassin. He normally wasn't one for being dramatic, but after his transgressions, he felt the gesture was the only way he could show his apology. He remained silent as he awaited her verdict, not wanting to ruin the quiet further with his babbling. Sayha watched as Dorian took care of the Jack. She nodded in approval because he had gotten better. He finally stopped focusing on the looks of his attacks and instead focused on the efficiency. “Looks like you’ve finally gotten it,” Sayha said walking up to Dorain, “I believe that’s more than enough training for one day. You don’t want to overdo it. Power leveling isn’t very healthy for you. Once you get back to Londinium, you should get a drink and unwind if that’s your thing.” Sayha at that moment pulled up her interface, “I’m adding you to my friend’s list, and you are welcome to do the same.” She quickly added him as a friend like she said and closed her interface.
“So some closing words of advice,” Sayha said, beginning to move towards the road, “You may want to consider getting a different weapon. If you’re going to be a support, you may want to look into having a slightly longer ranged weapon or maybe go ranged. I think Shamans can use bows, but I could be wrong. Also don’t worry about appearances; just do what you have to do. Finally, learn to use your Shikigami more.”
Sayha really couldn’t think of anything else to say to him as far as advice, but she figured Dorian was smart enough to figure out what to do on his own. “We’ll I’m headed to my place or at least my room back in Londinium. I can walk you there if you want.”

Blinked in surprise as she walked up to him, telling of how well he had done; he slowly stood up behind his katana, yanking it from the ground and neatly sliding it back down into his scabbard. "Well, I had a good - and albeit very patient - teacher." He bowed his head once more, before curling his lips into a polite, genuine smile. "Shifu." He bobbed his head to nod in agreement to the idea of unwinding, looking over her shoulder at the path behind her that led back to Londinium. "Sounds good to me; I'm not really one for drinking, but if you're willing we can always celebrate a job well done together at the Log Inn back home."It was then that Dorian watched as the Assassin pulled up her interface, speaking of how she would add him as a friend; just as she said, the request came up on his own screen, his finger swiftly darting up to accept. He watched as her name was slipped down underneath his friend list, blinking for a few seconds before settling down. "There we are, added you as well. Always nice to make a new friend!" Skrowe seemed to dance for joy at having befriended the elf, the Shaman smacking the back of his head to calm the chibi scarecrow down. Looking over his own shoulder at the katana lying idle in it's scabbard, he gave a curt nod in agreement. "Yeah, I don't think slicing is my style, especially not for support. I'll look into upgrading as soon as possible." At the mention of the Shikigami, Skrowe seemed to bolt upright into attention, forcing Dorian to focus his mind on Sayha's words. "Yes well, he seems to agree with you immensely. Perhaps too immensely..." He looked off to the side, as if attempting to hide the stern look he was giving his own brain. With all said and done, the Assassin offered to walk him home to Londinium, to which Dorian gave her a solid smile. "Well, I won't say no to an escort from a level 29; but if we're going to be celebrating together, we might as well journey back together as well. Lead on, miss Sayha!" And with that, the Shaman waited for her to set off first, walking along beside her as they journeyed back to the humble protection of home.
