As Fletcher wrapped up his story, he noticed that Sayha had moved onto another thing with the tablets presumably being finished. Fletcher looked down as Sayha looked up at him, pausing from her work looking apologetic and consoling him if only to say that what he had been through sounded bad. It was reassuring to know that she understood, at least in some way, and that the pair of them were both very much people of the present and not ones to look back. Granted, it was hard to do that even when they could both remember the other world given their predicament of being stuck here. The dwarf didn’t see it as a problem though, in fact he very much was thankful for the Catastrophe if only for the second chance it gave him. Without it, he’d be long silent and dead, a thought that brought a minor shiver to his spine and he did his best to keep that distraction played off as nothing more of a sudden itch.
Sayha continued to speak, moving the conversation forward from their past to the here and now, namely goals. She asked about being a famous Alchemist and as much as the idea tickled Fletcher pink, it was something that he was finding more and more that wasn’t going anywhere. He thought about how best to tackle the question before finally deciding and speaking with a thoughtful tone. ”Oh, I used to. Not so much any more however; Alchemy seems to grind to a halt n the way of innovation. Best I can do is mass produce some other components for other budding crafters, but otherwise I was thinking of giving Blacksmithing a go. Figured it’d be fitting for a dwarf to at least give it a go. Outside of crafting though…” He punctuated the sentence with a scratch of his head, and a more genuine troubled look than his played off thoughtful one. ”Summoning. It’s the only thing I’m finding a knack for, especially the skills I’ve been given, although the Followers themselves seem to be looking to accomplish something else and I’m only there for the ride? What about you?”
