[attr="class","capsol"] It was a bit cooler that night, compared to most other nights. The Monk had found himself, walking over towards a nearby restaurant that he had chosen to be the first place of interest this evening. Well, it might have been the only place of interest, as it served as the point at which the date would begin. The Malachite Courtyard, which was this world's stab at an Olive Garden from back in the other world, was an Italian-style restaurant that Hiro had heard more than just a few good things about. As a result, it served as a decent place to try and get some food at, while also having a good time. Maybe once Hiro was done there, he'd take his date out for a little bit of a stroll, and just enjoy the evening. Granted, it was a little chilly out, so the walking around part might not exactly happen for the time being, though it was something he'd offer up as a possibility. He still had a bit of a walk before he'd even get to the restaurant, having decided to walk there from the train station, after being out and about for a little time now. He had been over at his home in Moon Dance Forest, to unwind.
Hiro thought back to the past couple of weeks, as things had winded down a good deal since then. With the escapades out into Avon, journeying into a tunnel system beneath London, dealing with the Sages and Lune, and a large number of other things in this world, Hiro had been quite busy. However, during a majority of those, he hadn't been alone. No, he had Sayha with him, as the two had become quite close. Close enough, in fact, that both of them had started thinking of one another, maybe a bit more than just as friends. Hiro wasn't sure how long Sayha had felt the way she did, though he knew that he liked her for a little while now. She was always there with him, he was there with her, and they supported one another. Ever since Hiro had met her, he knew that she was a decent enough person, though he had an opportunity to get to know her on a deeper level than most other people, he figured. Thinking about it drew a smile to his face, and maybe a little bit of a blush, which couldn't have really been seen from the outside perspective, given the time of day that it was. They made a good team. But, how about a good set of significant others?
He entered the building, and spoke to the receptionist. He made a note to inform them that the other half of the dinner party would be coming shortly, and gave them Sayha's description. He moved over to one of the tables, and sat down, thinking. While he was anxious, he also had a good feeling in his stomach. The whole point of this date was to try and lay out a few things, so that they could either enter a relationship together, or decide against it. While Hiro had hoped the latter wouldn't happen, he knew that he wanted to let her make her decision unbiased. Hiro knew for a fact that he would say yes to getting together with her, and that he wouldn't let anybody change his mind. To him, Sayha was interesting, smart, and reliable. He also thought that she was rather cute, both in her physical sense, and as for her personality. He shook his head, looking at the table. He needed to relax a little bit, as he felt his cheeks brightening up more. It seemed like maybe he needed to take a little bit of a mental break, due to being more anxious than he probably let on. Whenever Sayha arrived, Hiro would be able to talk over with her about what they should do. Hopefully, the end result of the evening would be the two having a nice evening, together.

It was a beautiful night despite the fact that it had been colder than it recently had been. Under normal circumstances, she would have been jogging or exercising but that night was different. It had been a few weeks since the latest escapades and adventures… and that night, Sayha was going on a date. Just thinking about the concept made Sayha blush. It wasn’t that long ago that Sayha had confessed to Hiro how she had felt about him for quite some time. She had first started feeling that way towards him back when he had invited her to his house to continue their game of hide and seek. Even though things had gone badly for part of her visit, she had forgiven him… and started to feel that way. Of course as they had begun to adventure more and more together, the feeling got stronger.
Then Sayha had died. After she died, she had come to the realization that she needed to be honest with her feelings. The day after she did her appearance change, she had gone on an expedition through tunnels underneath southern Londinium… and she had confessed her feelings then. Hiro had said he felt the same way towards her, but the situation was not the most ideal to be talking about feelings so they had put it on hold.
After, they were almost immediately after, the two of them were summoned back to the Purple Mirror Mansion and back to Lune to prevent yet another disaster. After the butterfly Genius had been defeated, Hiro had asked Sayha on a date which she had agreed to without any hesitation… and a lot of embarrassment.
Sayha wasn’t really sure how to react to feeling the way she had been. She really didn’t interact with other people that much on the other side other than via guilds and such in the MMO’s she played… though she did interact with her old martial arts classmates, but it had been a few years now since she had interacted with them. And of course she never felt the way she did with one of them.
That night, Hiro and Sayha had figured that they would sort out their feelings and figure out if the two of them would actually… well, work. They were good fighting partners and companions. More than that? They would just have to see.
Hiro had asked him to meet her at a restaurant she had never been to called the Malachite Courtyard. She had heard it was a good place to eat, and she trusted Hiro’s judgment. If he thought it was a good place, it probably was.
Sayha had just arrived at the restaurant and walked in, talking to the receptionist person, explaining that she was meeting someone there. They nodded and told her where Hiro was sitting. She thanked them and went over to the table that Hiro was at. She could feel her cheeks warming up, but she pushed them down at least a little.
“This looks like a nice place, Hiro,” Sayha greeted with a soft smile.

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro had his mind full with a whole bunch of things from the previous few weeks, culminating up to this evening. He hadn't spent quite as much time near Sayha lately as he would have liked, though he knew that both of them were quite busy with their own things. That being said, he was more than happy to finally have a chance to talk with her about their mutual feelings. In fact, he was a little relieved that they had a chance to. Having thought about this for as long as they have, it made him want to talk it over, even if it was just a small conversation. While Hiro knew that Sayha had a crush on him, he couldn't shake a bit of anxiousness from himself, wondering if her feelings had changed all that much over the past little while. While that probably wasn't the case, he knew that his mind would have taken him over to such a thought eventually. As much as he hated it, he knew that it was good for him to keep everything in mind. Different situations, reactions, and anything that could have changed. Being prepared for any situation was an invaluable asset in life.
His inner processes completely stopped when he heard that familiar voice. Looking up from the table, he saw Sayha having approached. A smile made its way across his face. He was just about to jump up and greet her, though they would have been sitting down afterwards, either way. Besides, it wouldn't likely make much of a difference whether he had stood up or not, so he remained sitting. "From what I've heard, the food's definitely good." He responded to Sayha's remark. Motioning over to the other seat on the other side of the table, he continued. "Please, have a seat." Since there wasn't much of anything else to do at the moment, he figured that she would likely sit down from there. The table that they sat at was designed for just 2 people, being a small, round table with chairs on either side. The menus had been placed so that they could be easily accessed, though they could likely get in the way not too long after food was ordered. However, since Hiro had been to other restaurants like this beforehand, both in the real world and in this one, he was aware that they would take the menus away once the food gets ordered by the customers.
So, here, Hiro's attention shifted back to Sayha, that same smile on his face. Given that the room was lit mostly by lights overhead, which were dimmed down to a comfortable level. He felt a light blush across his face, but there wasn't all that much that he could do about it. "Well, the food's supposed to be very good, from what I've heard from everybody I've spoken to about the place. Maybe that's some indication?" As much as he wanted to jump right into the conversation that they would be here for, he figured that they would have a good deal of time this evening, so he might as well do his best to make normal conversation beforehand. "So, as you could probably tell, this place serves Italian-style food. Not sure if I told you of that ahead of time. After you take a look, what sounds like a good meal to you?" He had yet to even look at the menu in front of him, but that wasn't necessarily why he was here. Sure, he probably was wording things in a very awkward manner, but one had to remember that he hadn't been on a date in a while now, let alone a dinner date. As much as he was into the whole idea of this evening and the conversation that they would likely have soon, he was still an anxious young man. Getting things started off smoothly would be the best way to go, for the time being. In the meantime, he'd raise the menu up a bit, and look through it.

Hiro smiled when he realized that Sayha was there and motioned for her to sit down, which he did. The table Hiro and she were sitting at was a smaller round table, made for only two people which was appropriate, and the menus were off to the side of the table. The lights around the restaurant were low and overhead each table, and they were dimmed, probably for ambience. Sayha saw Hiro’s cheeks flush a bit, and she felt hers flush as well. She had never been on a date before, and she was slightly more embarrassed than she had thought she would be. Thankfully though, Hiro began talking about the restaurant so some of her embarrassment was suppressed. He explained that the food there was good from what he heard, and that it was Italian-style food. Sayha had had Italian food a few times, and she had enjoyed it so she was fine where Hiro had chosen. For the time being, he had taken one of the menus to glance at. Sayha took one as well, briefly scanning over the items on the menu.
Sayha thought went over to what the next conversation would actually be… and it both embarrassed and terrified her at the same time. Her feelings towards him hadn’t changed except they might have gotten stronger since Hiro had said he liked her when she told him about her feelings. Though in the back of her head, she couldn’t help but worry if the two of them would be a good couple. They were good partners, and they trusted each other. Sayha had no problem talking about her past with him, and he was one of very few people. The only other people she really trusted were Fletcher, a healing summoner that she had gotten to join their guild, and Dorian, a support shaman that she had mentored and gone on a few adventures with. However, she trusted Hiro more than either of them… possibly because of her feelings and possibly because she had been on so many adventures with him. Sayha was pretty sure, though, that Hiro didn’t want to go on any more haunting explorations as he was rather afraid of them… and Sayha kind of forgot that from time to time. Thinking back, a small smile formed. At least he wasn’t one of the guys she had met that were “invincible.” It was nice that he was more real and down-to-earth.
“I think,” Sayha started, finally answering Hiro’s question on what looked good to eat, “either the shrimp scampi, the shrimp arrabbiata, or the chicken saltimbocca look good. What are you thinking about getting?”

[attr="class","capsol"] As Hiro had posed the question to Sayha about her choice for dinner, Hiro also took the time to start looking over what else was on the menu, which he would likely get for himself. As he perused the options as hand, he started to think about what sounded the best. He was a fool for anything involving pasta, so his immediate answer was to have some spaghetti and meatballs. It'd been a while since he had had the dish, having been just about since the first day of this Catastrophe. A memory resurfaced of him and his family having spaghetti and meatballs a day or so before Hiro had gotten into the game. Seeing his sister, mother, and father did cause him to smile a little. Even if he wasn't entirely attached to them, he still loved them. The memory soon faded away, as he continued to think about what to have for dinner. Upon looking further into the menu, he started to notice their chicken selection, and he had managed to find his favorite dish in the world: Chicken Alfredo. Spaghetti and meatballs would have to wait. This was important that he pick this for dinner.
Sayha spoke up about what she wanted to have, mentioning three different things. Afterwards, she posed the question to Hiro, to which he immediately responded. "Chicken Alfredo. No question in my mind." He chuckled a little, as he folded the menu up and put it to the side. "It's my favorite meal. I would've gotten to have it so rarely back in the real world, that it just kinda became a delicacy to me." Having finished his little bit about the food, he looked to her again. "So, I've noticed two shrimp items in your meal choice. You like seafood?" He asked. It might have sparked a little bit of a conversation, just to keep the evening going, though he was also curious about it. He had been wondering if he should pick up Chef soon after his next creation was all taken care of for now, but that was a side note for a later time. The more information he could get about Sayha's likes and dislikes would definitely help him along, should the two of them fully enter a relationship. Whenever Sayha answered his question, he would think a little bit more, before going to move onto the next topic. He wasn't fully comfortable enough to talk things over yet, though he hoped Sayha didn't mind.
With the mentality to take things slow, Hiro wanted to make sure that both were comfortable enough to talk about the relationship stuff in a little while. So, he'd spark up some other conversation in the meantime. Besides, it would be boring to just get right to the point, when they could spend as much time as possible learning more and more about each other! The Monk hoped that he could learn a few more things about Sayha tonight, so as to be a better significant other, should the two get together. He felt a light flush wash across his face, but he shook his head a little bit and smiled. "So, I know we've both been kinda busy lately, what with our own things, and I'm kinda curious. What kinda stuff you been up to, since we finished off in Lune?" He made sure to keep his voice low, so others around them wouldn't hear the mentioning of the city in the past. Hiro was not sure who else knew about the city, or if that name would even be recognized, but he sure as heck wasn't going to jeopardize the secrecy of that mission. Also, since everybody else was silent, he didn't want to raise his voice up to an uncomfortable level, which would cause unwanted attention over to them. With his rationale in place, he waited patiently for the Assassin's response, willing to explain what he'd been up to, as well.

Sayha set her menu off to the side after Hiro had said what dish he had chosen. Chicken Alfredo. It was a good meal, she could agree on, and Hiro said that it was his favorite meal. Sayha personally didn’t have a favorite specific food meal because she just enjoyed eating alone without being bothered by her step mother because she was “always” doing something wrong. Though her mind went back on track when Hiro asked if she liked seafood. “I like some seafood but not all of it,” Sayha explained, “Shrimp has always been a staple item for me. I personally don’t care for most fish, but out of the fish, I do like salmon and trout though.”
After a few moments, Hiro said that they both had been busy since they finished with Lune, which was true. Then, he asked what she had been doing since then. Sayha was glad that they weren’t going straight on-topic with the main reason they were at the restaurant. She was still kind of embarrassed, but she knew that she would just be that way for a while… especially during that main conversation. “Well, not a whole lot of stuff, honestly,” Sayha nodded, answering Hiro’s question, “I did some exploration on another hidden place in Londinium, and a friend of mine, Dorian, accompanied me after we ran into each other. I don’t think you’ve met Dorian yet. He’s a Shaman I met a while back when we were still working on the train systems. After that, I mentored him since he didn’t know how to fight. I’ve met him a few times since then as well. He seems to be finding his footing as a support. He joined another guild… though I don’t think he mentioned the name of the other guild. After that adventure, Fletcher invited me to his place over in the Thames Riviera, and he helped me with my Pharmacist subclass… which reminds me that I switched from Scribe to Pharmacist. Scribe was okay, but it wasn’t very helpful to me in the long run. I switched to Pharmacist because I would eventually like to do research on poisons that can be applied to weapons. I mean, <Death Stinger> is great, but it’s the only poison ability I can get so I’m improvising.”
Sayha wasn’t sure if she should have mentioned the bunker exploration to Hiro or not. During her exploration of there, she had run into a druid named Morgana that was aligned to Hecate, a heretic that both Sayha and Hiro despised. If he asked more about the bunker, she would explain what she had found minus the druid and the miasma. There was no reason to get him worked up over the event now, especially in the setting that they were in at that particular moment.
“Oh, and I finished remodeling my house,” Sayha remembered, “It’s in Moon Dance Forest, but its further from the village than your place is. It’s actually fairly close to the outskirts. I’m almost high enough to start training with Elder Yamamoto, and I’m looking forward to it. You should come over, and you can check it out. It would only be fair since I’ve checked out your place already.”
Sayha had been passively working on her house between adventures, and it was done for the time being… at least until she decided she wanted to make the house larger. Though it was already fairly large thanks to gym/dojo she had put in on top of the other rooms she had. Plus, she also had an outside greenhouse for herbs that she would use for her Pharmacist subclass. She was fairly happy with the end results.
“Though I should ask you now,” Sayha said after a moment, “What have you been up to recently then?”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro listened quietly as Sayha began to tell him that she had enjoyed shrimp, though only a few other types of seafood as well. Hiro couldn't very much stand for it himself, since back in the other world, he would get headaches from having too much seafood. He didn't exactly understand why, though he was told it had something to do with some kind of allergy. In any case, he continued to listen as she began to talk about what she had been up to. Seemed to him like she was up to some rather interesting and entertaining stuff, whereas he hadn't done much in the same way. She mentioned a few names that Hiro was unfamiliar with, though he just went with it for the time being. He was also kind of surprised that she had swapped to Pharmacist, rather than Scribe. Her maps certainly did help out a lot with the train services, and he was very thankful for her help. However, he wouldn't dwell on the subject for too long, since she had already made the change. It was nice to know that she was busy with things, having something to do a lot of the time. Though, he wondered if starting up a relationship would slow her down, unnecessarily.
Soon after, she began to talk about her house in Moon Dance Forest, which Hiro also didn't know about. "Oh?" He said, in response to her first mentioning the house. On the outskirts of the village wasn't too bad a place to have a place to live. Hiro lived a good distance away from the village, but it was nice to hear that more houses were being built in and around the village. As she mentioned her level and almost training with the Elder, he peeked over at her level. It had gone up significantly, since the first time they had met, which he couldn't help but smile at. It was nice to see her getting stronger and stronger. "Yeah, I'll be sure to check the place out sometime." He felt a slight wash of embarrassment for having been invited to the girl's house, though he shook the feeling off not too soon afterwards. It wasn't too long after that that the conversation had shifted to him, concerning his own lifestyle as of late. He wasn't actually expecting to have been asked the question back, since he wasn't sure if Sayha wanted to hear about it. It wasn't anything close to as interesting to others, like Sayha's adventures, though it was some fairly important stuff that he had to do.
Hiro leaned back in the chair a little, tilting his head back. "Not a whole lot of stuff, really." He began. "Mostly just been doing some odd-jobs around here, raising up some money for both the guild and the train station, as I said I would. It's been keeping me rather busy, which is nice, but at the same time, it's an obligation that I have to take care of, so of course it gets a little wearing on the mind. However, that's what I have my research for." He looked to the Assassin, a little glint of mischievous intent in his eyes. "Nothing that I'm willing to divulge at the moment, though it'll be something kinda big." He sat back up in the chair, letting his eyes focus on Sayha's once again. The glint in his eyes at this point was gone. "In any case, just stuff to keep me busy. No real big adventures to report of, though I'm hoping to do some exploration, sometime in the near future. But, that'll be a little while from now, I figure." He fell silent for another few moments, as a waiter walked over to their table, asking them if they were ready to order. Hiro reached over to the menu again, just to make sure he knew exactly what it was he was going to order for.
"Uhh, right." Hiro began after a moment. "I'll have the Chicken Alfredo, and a glass of ice water for a drink." After that, he closed the menu, and would wait for Sayha to make her own order. Once their orders had been made, the waiter would take the menus from them, and then head off to give the orders to the chefs in the building. From there, Hiro and Sayha would be left on their own, to talk and discuss pretty much anything from there. At this point on time, though, Hiro felt conflicted about just continuing with conversation, or actually bringing up the topic that they were here for this evening. His apprehension concerning it had started to build up, though the general talk that they had been sharing in was definitely helping. He found himself having a bit of fun here, just shooting the breeze, but he knew that eventually, they'd need to talk about a relationship. Though he was still unsure as to if they should talk about it now or not, he found himself remaining silent for a few seconds.

Sayha wasn’t surprised that Hiro was surprised about her having a home in Moon Dance Forest. Actually, she was pretty sure that he was the first person she told about it… thought she might have mentioned it in passing with Fletcher or Dorian, but she couldn’t remember at that point in time. “I’ll see what I can do for tea when you visit,” Sayha gave a slight smile, “I give no promises though. The kitchen isn’t where I plan to spend most of my time.” She thought about telling Hiro about the gym slash dojo that had been renovated in her house, but she figured she’d give him a chance to check it out on his own. Sayha also nodded along as Hiro explained what he had been doing. From the sound of it, it did sound tedious… though when he mentioned research, Sayha’s interests peaked. She was about to ask more about it when the waiter came and asked if they were ready to order. Hiro responded with what he had said as well as a glass of water. The waiter then turned to her for her response, “I’ll take the Shrimp Scampi over noodles and a glass of lemonade.” The waiter wrote down the order then disappeared almost as quickly as he had appeared.
Sayha thought about continuing her asking about his research, but he had said that he wasn’t going to say much which made Sayha curious. The last times that Hiro had mentioned he had things in the work, he showed her the hoverboard and then eventually told her of the train system. If Hiro was planning something, it would definitely be worth the wait. However, Sayha’s mind when back to the reason they had actually met.
“As much as I enjoy small chat,” Sayha said, “We probably should talk about the real reason we’re here.” Sayha felt herself flush a bit, but she took a deep breath to try to keep herself calm, “Since the tunnels… my feelings haven’t changed. I still like you… a lot… and to be honest, I’m not even sure what we need to say… I’ve… I’ve never done anything like this before for well… I think you know why…” Sayha’s eyes drifted to looking at the table in front of them. Her embarrassment washed over her all over again, and she wasn’t able to push it down this time. She hoped that Hiro knew what they should be talking about because she was completely clueless.

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro was well aware that the conversation had fallen off for a little bit now, though his mind was racing back and forth trying to figure out what he should do or say. Should he just go ahead and get the conversation that was most definitely the reason why they were there going, or keep on trying to have light conversation to keep things moving? Well, if they did talk about how they felt about one another, they could probably just change right back to the conversation, as that's what typically happened on a date. Though with maybe a bit more hugging and hand-holding rather than just hanging out together. Of course, that was dependent on the chance of Sayha still liking Hiro in a romantic sense. While he was fairly certain that that hadn't changed all that much at all, since she agreed to show up after him asking her out on a date, verbatim, he still had his worries. Like they had mentioned beforehand, there had been a bit of stuff going on since the last time that they had actually been around one another for an extended period of time. That contributed to a little bit of his worry, at the very least.
Hiro's thought process was interrupted, probably for the better, when Sayha continued to speak about them both being there. Hiro's anxiety spiked as she first started, fearing the worst, though his fears were very quickly dispelled shortly afterwards. Hiro's eyes were fixed on the girl, as she started to flush up and fall quiet every so often while she spoke. As she continued, eventually to a point where she stopped, it seemed that she had looked down at the table, as the blush across her face brightened ever so slightly. He couldn't take his eyes away from her, because she looked, well, pretty cute, at this point in time. Her embarrassment and her shyness complimented one another in his mind, as they served as a severe contrast to how she normally was when it came to most other things. Her generally confident nature, though still present, was overshadowed at the moment by her admittance to having not gone on a date before, let alone tell someone that she liked them. Granted, she had before, back in the tunnels, but restating it was probably just as embarrassing as having it the first time to her. Hiro couldn't help but smile, as he felt a lot of his worry wash away.
His face blushed up a little bit, as he spoke to her. "Y'know... You're pretty cute when you act like this." He knew that he probably shouldn't encourage such behavior from the girl, as it seemed a little against her normal mentality, but he wanted to say it. He straightened up some, and continued. "The main reason why I felt like we needed to talk about this was because it'd been a little while since the tunnels, and... I'd like to be your boyfriend." His eye shifted over to the side for a moment. "Granted, I was a bit anxious to just assume that we were on a date, right from the get-go, since it's been some time since we've hung out, so I felt like we just needed to talk things over and help solidify things. But, given that we both feel the same way about each other..." He trailed off, looking at the girl again. He felt his face brighten up more. "We could just... Start going out?" There wasn't a whole lot more that he felt he needed to say from there, since they didn't really need to talk about much else. His embarrassment was pretty clear to see, though he still had a small smile on his face. He probably looked like an idiot to Sayha, for having needed to talk much of anything over. However, he wasn't going to just walk in here, wrap an arm around her, and proclaim to the world that they were together. While the thought of wrapping an arm around her sounded lovely, he wasn't going to just assume that they would be fine. Either way, as the thought of having his arms around Sayha, embracing her, crept through his mind, he waited for her response.

Sayha was quite embarrassed by that point, and she wasn’t quite sure what to do with herself. Then what Hiro had said caught her attention and she looked up to him. Her? Cute? She saw that Hiro had flushed up slightly, but he seemed to be doing better than she was. Her mind briefly went back to Hiro’s comment. Out of all the things Sayha had been called, cute was definitely not one of them… and she wasn’t quite sure how to feel about it. However, Sayha didn’t dwell on it for long as Hiro continued talking. Though Sayha felt as if her heart was going to jump out of her chest. Hiro wanted to be her boyfriend. Honestly, it was a relief to Sayha, and she felt a lot of her embarrassment wash away. Sayha understood what he was saying… calling their first outing a date was presuming a lot, but it seemed to fit… and Sayha didn’t mind it at all honestly. After taking a deep breath, Sayha looked at Hiro, “And I… I want to be your girlfriend… but I would be lying if I said I didn’t have concerns… I do like the idea of going out… but I’m kind of concerned with everyone else in the guild… like what will they think about… well us, I guess?”
Sayha hadn’t met all the members of the guild, but she had met a few. The two main ones that came to mind were Artemisia and Saeko. Artemisia, the fox-girl, seemed to be a flirt, at least when Sayha had met her. Whether she liked Hiro or not, Sayha didn’t know. Saeko… Sayha wasn’t sure about. The other members she knew were Val and Fletcher. Sayha and Fletcher were good friends, and it was Sayha who asked him to join the guild. Fletcher wouldn’t care, more than likely. Val she had only met briefly, and from what Sayha could tell, didn’t come around often.
“I might be overthinking it,” Sayha sighed.

[attr="class","capsol"] Though Hiro's mind had been swirling quite a bit, given that he had just officially asked Sayha out by this point in time, he felt a little bit more at ease now. Having gotten that off his chest, and seeing that she had reacted rather calmly to the whole outcome, he felt like he could relax a little bit more, and probably enjoy the evening all that much more as a result. He did notice Sayha's reaction to his comment about her being kind of cute, though she didn't react much to it. Darn it. He thought. I was hoping for a little bit more of a reaction. It wasn't a lie at all that Hiro liked to see the girl get flustered every so often, since it showed a different side than most were used to, especially the Monk. Though, if they were to enter a relationship of sorts, then it would probably be fairly easy for him to see that side more often. While he wouldn't admit it aloud, he definitely wanted to see such a thing happen at least a little bit more often. But, all things in time, and for now, there was another pressing matter that they had to deal with. Something that they would probably need to go over together, either now or later.
Sayha brought up the thought that the others would need to be kept in mind. Specifically, what they would think. His happiness was still there, though Hiro leaned onto the table, placing his hands up in a thinking pose before his face. His gaze shifted off to the side, while he thought. It was an important notion to think of, especially because their guild wasn't necessarily that big. If even one person found out about the two of them going out, then the word would very, very quickly spread throughout the rest of the guild. Such is the bane of having a rather close-knit group of friends and allies all beneath the same banner. The problem, though, was inconsequential, since most people just kind of did whatever they wanted for the most part. Two of them getting together wouldn't be the end of the world. At least, so Hiro thought. He didn't know the inner machinations of everybody in the guild, except maybe for Saeko. She was like a book to him by this point, and she was more than aware of it. Though, given that the two of them had been hanging out together for so long, it was a safe assumption to say that they knew one another better than most others.
While he thought, he realized that the waitress from before was walking over to their table with their drinks. Sitting back up, and taking his arms off the table, he waited for the glasses to be put down. "Thank you." Hiro said in response, with a smile, to the waitress. She seemed to be focused on getting the drinks to them, and carried along her way once she was done. Reaching over and taking a drink from the water he had ordered, Hiro formulated exactly what it was in his mind into words, before he had said them. Placing the glass back down, he looked to Sayha. "Well," The Monk began. "I'm not too sure that the others would necessarily mind, mostly because a lot of us just do our own things anyways. At least, not that I can imagine. So, I'm sure most people would probably be shocked, though in time, come to accept it as reality not too long afterwards." He couldn't really offer much more in the way of that, since he didn't control anybody else's feelings on the matter. Though, as far as he could tell, if they're forward about it and tell everybody ahead of time, nobody will feel like they had been left in the dark. "We should probably tell everybody else, though, for the sake of keeping everybody in the know." He concluded. Afterwards, looking at her, he asked. "Was there anything else you were worried about? If possible, it might be best to share the worries now, rather than later, y'know?" He said, waiting for a response.

After Sayha was done talking, the waitress appeared bearing the drinks that they had ordered: water for Hiro and lemonade for Sayha. “Thanks,” Sayha nodded at the waitress, taking her glass. She took a sip, testing to see if it needed sugar. It definitely did, and she put in about three packets of sweetener while listening to Hiro.
Hiro explained that the others wouldn’t mind too much, mostly because they had their own things to do… which was fair. It wasn’t as if people’s lives revolved around their guild… usually… Sayha did recall knowing some people that their lives basically were whatever their guild did and what they had planned. They were not the most mentally stable people, but the others in the guild were definitely not like that… at least from what she could tell. Hiro continued and said that they should tell the others in the guild so that they would know as well as that she should share any other worries that she had to get them out in the open.
“I do think we should tell the others,” Sayha said after Hiro had finished speaking, “Though… I think it would probably be better if it came from you… If I said it, it would probably come off the wrong way, knowing me. As for other worries…” Sayha sighed, thinking about it for a moment, “Right now, I can’t think of any… thought I’m sure I’ll think of things later.”
Sayha, after stirring the sugar, took a sip of her lemonade. It was now sweet enough so she didn’t cringe at the sourness.
“Though, Hiro,” Sayha said after taking another sip, “Do you have any worries about this… or anything in general? I know you’ve been pretty busy with everything so…”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro was a bit more relieved and relaxed, since the main thing that they were here for was now out on the table, and they were discussing it. As much as he had been apprehensive to talk about it beforehand, and how much he enjoyed just having a night to talk, hang out, and chill, it was important to get the point across at some point. Given that Sayha had been willing enough to get right into one of the problems she foresaw was also reassuring, since it brought to mind that she had been actively thinking about this. Of course, Hiro would seem like a weirdo if he went ahead and started to blush up, as the girl he had a crush on had been thinking about him, even remotely. And when some people think that Hiro had mentioned he had previous relationships, given how he was thinking at present, one would question that notion a little bit. However, as Sayha had begun talking a little bit more, his attention snapped to her almost immediately. He was more than happy to get his mind off of perhaps one of the more creepy things he's ever thought before. He needed to forget that as soon as possible.
Sayha had no more worries, though mentioned that if, and when, their relationship is made public, that it should come from him. As much as he would prefer to keep the middle-man route, and not say anything rude about the Assassin, she was a bit blunt from time to time, and to just come right out and say 'we're dating' would likely spawn a pretty strange reaction, as it would resonate just a little too harshly throughout the halls of the guild house. Either way, he nodded his head at the notion, and figured that he would know what to say, when the time came. Until then, though, he wanted to focus on a few other things for now. Like, the status of their relationship as a whole for the moment. But, once again, his thought process was cut off, as the girl reversed the question onto him. She asked, as he asked her, if there was any kind of worry that he had. A sensible enough question to ask, which was why he asked it in the first place, but also important to have him answer, based on his own worries. To which, he began to think a bit more critically on now. Was there anything that he was worried about, given a relationship between them? Anything glaring him in the face?
"Well..." Hiro began, after a few moments. "There's one thing that I can think of, which would impact things: Work schedule." He brought his hand up to his chin, thinking more. "As you already know, I've been funding the train station for quite some time now, and though I'm getting close, the amount in the bank account I have set up for it isn't quite where I want it to be. The biggest problem I can see is that since the work I need to do in order to make some bigger amounts of money requires a good amount of time and effort, I'm not sure when I'll have a ton of free time." Taking the hand away from his chin, he gave Sayha a more innocent, gentle smile. "Believe me when I say, I'd like to spend more time with you. To be perfectly honest, I can't think of many other things I'd want to do more, at this point in time. But, you understand that I have previous obligations, concerning other things." His smile shifted to more of a wry one, as he continued. "Again, this shouldn't take too much longer, but I'd just like to ask that you bear with me, in that regard. Once it's all set to go, I'll have a lot more time." He fell silent for a few moments, but continued. "That's all I can think of for the moment, but if there's more, I'll be sure to tell you." Hiro looked into Sayha's eyes for a moment, on accident, and found himself blushing up just a little bit. Good thing he was done talking, and could use the old 'take a big gulp of water to avoid more conversation due to embarrassment' trick. He took a swig of the water, hoping she would say something next.

Sayha listened patiently as Hiro spoke about his worry. His primary concern was their work schedules… which was a fair point. Sayha recalled the guild leader’s meeting that took place quite a while ago… though maybe not quite that long ago… it was hard to tell since so many things had happened since then. Hiro had said at that meeting that he and the guild would take care of running the train station… though mostly himself. It was quite a daunting task, and Sayha was rather thankful she wasn’t in his exact position. She didn’t take quests very often, and the kind of gold that would be needed to run the train station was way outside of her budget. Though Hiro did say he was close to getting the starting amount he wanted. Which meant that he was way busier than Sayha had been. He finished talking by explaining he did want to spend more time with her, but because of the train station situation, he wouldn’t be able to do so at least until that was done.
“That’s completely understandable,” Sayha replied after he took a sip of his water, “and I agree that that should be taken care of first. I don’t usually go out looking for quests, but if you need any help, let me know. Though to be honest, I probably should be picking up more quests anyway… I’m going to need to stock up on gold so I can get more weapons later on. Since assassins can use pretty much every weapon, I want to eventually have a decent arsenal… though it means a lot more practice on my end. I’ve only generally used most of the weapons on the other side… except for swords and polearms… though that may be a given… though speaking of weapons, do you have any new weapons that you plan on trying out? I know you have that transforming sword and your new hand pistols, but do you use any other kinds of weapons?”

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro slid back into the seat just a bit, feeling a bit more relaxed as Sayha finished her sentiment concerning the train station. Hiro recalled a girl he had dated, way back in the day, who got upset when he had to go to a track meet instead of skipping the meet to go hang out with her. Outside of the girl's 'necessity' to be near him all the time, he had a few feelings concerning her being over-demanding. Of course, Hiro and this girl had started going out while he was in track, so the team came first. It was a bit of a priority to be there for the team, as he was one of the runners. Not a main one, just one that helped in one leg of the 4-by-2 relay, which meant that he and 3 other people ran 200 yards each in a relay race against other schools. She proceeded to break up with him at that point, saying that he wasn't committed enough to her. While he wanted to lash back and start bitching her out himself, he realized that it was the last year of his middle-school days, and that he wasn't going to let this person ruin it for him. High school was coming up, and there were plenty of other fish in the sea.
So, it was rather nice to know that Sayha had no real problem with Hiro's ongoing commitments, that he had set up beforehand. Sitting back up in the chair, he interjected for just a moment, after she made her offer to help. "While I appreciate the notion, you don't have to do any quests or anything to help pay for this." A smile formed on his face, as he spoke. "Like I said, I'm just about set with all of it, and from there, the questing can be in a more casual manner. One or two high-paying quests a week, or one low-income quest a day should be enough to keep the place running, from there." With that thought having finished, he listened to what else Sayha had to say from there. She was thinking, from how Hiro heard her, of becoming more of a weapons-specialist. Which was nice to know, especially considering the fact that Assassins were capable of wielding damn-near everything, if not everything. He listened intently, and raised an eyebrow when the question had been turned onto him. Of course, Hiro had the Weaponmaster skill, allowing him to use pretty much any weapon at a time, though he didn't think too much on what else he could get into using.
"Hmm..." The Monk brought a hand to his chin, as he started to think a bit more. Sayha was right, in having specified which weapons he had used until now, though he didn't share much interest in any other kinds of weaponry at the moment. Maybe it had to do with his main-class choice, or just he fact that he was a bit picky when it came to certain weapons. He'd never held or used anything like a polearm or spear back in the other world, and only once or twice swung a stick around in his back yard when he was younger, emulating a sword. "Now that I think about it, I can't really say there's much." He concluded, after what felt like an eternity of thought. Fixing himself back up in the chair, he returned his gaze to Sayha, a wry smile on his face. "I'm not very good with most weaponry, I figure, since I've never had much of a chance to try out anything outside of a few fist-fights and swinging some sticks in my back yard, back in the other world." Of course, he felt kind of silly for mentioning such a thing, to someone who has had a lot of martial experience from back in the other world. While Hiro got into a few fights, he never usually was the cause of any, nor did he know how to properly defend himself.
Though, he decided to make it a bit of a joke from this point. He was glad that the main point, if one could even call it that, of the evening was out of the way, and now the rest of the night could be divulged into having a bit of fun, while also deepening their relationship some more. He leaned onto the table with one arm, and gave a smug smile. "Imagine a little Hiro, swinging a stick around, and managing to actually hurt himself in the process." He said, a small chuckle coming out of his mouth. "From that point on, he never played with sticks in the yard again!" A fault from his younger days, as he recalled the incident. He had been swinging around a stick, as he had mentioned, and somehow was capable of swinging it too far up above himself, let it loose from his hand, and it came crashing down onto his head. Not the point of the stick, but the broad side. Either way, it was a painful story to share, in more way than one, but one that he felt would give Sayha a laugh to think about.

As Sayha talked, Hiro had mentioned he appreciated her notion of assisting, he declined it, explaining that he would be able to earn the money casually due to him being at level 90. That sounded fair, and it kind of encouraged Sayha to finish her leveling to 90. She was getting pretty close now, just over 20 more levels to go… so Sayha level wise had known Hiro for a while, she suddenly realized. She had met him back when she was level… 13 was it? A lot of those levels though was thanks to him since they had gone on quite a few adventures together.
Hiro brought his hand to his chin when Sayha asked about weapons. It was something Sayha had caught him doing on occasion when he was thinking… and she guessed it was probably something he did subconsciously. It didn’t take long for Hiro to respond he really didn’t have much to say regarding weapons. He explained that he wasn’t very good with most weaponry due to not having any experience with them on the other side… minus swinging a stick when he was younger. That made Sayha smile, chuckling under her breath. He continued to comment, saying to imagine a younger Hiro swinging a stick.
“Well, at least you didn’t poke your eye out,” Sayha smiled, her tone being rather light, “Though if you ever do decide to learn more weapons, let me know. I’ll help you to the best of my abilities, though like I said I only know the basics of most weapons.”
Sayha took a drink of her lemonade before continuing to speak, “I’m thinking my next weapon set will be dual whips. The traditional whip that Shaolin Monks used was called a Qilinbian, but that’s just a fancy name for a type of metal link chain. They’re pretty fancy, but they’re difficult to use. I’ve used them only a handful of times, and even then I didn’t get the results I could have. I have two sets of dual swords now, but they’re both pretty low. I’ll probably be looking to get some higher-leveled katanas also. Or maybe a different type of blade… I haven’t really decided. Though I’m also thinking of getting maybe dual one-handed spears or something along those lines. Maybe even something like dual tonfas… though I was never fond of tonfas when I was taking classes so maybe not.”
That was when Sayha realized that she kind of took over the conversation, “Sorry about weapons taking over the conversation. It’s a bad habit of mine…”

[attr="class","capsol"] As if from nowhere, after having responded to Hiro's earlier story about the stick, Sayha had gone off on her own little rant about weaponry. Of course, the Monk didn't expect it at all, though found it to be rather entertaining to watch someone go on for a few moments about something that they held interest in. Of course, his eyes did widen just a bit, since she had started to speak as though she didn't even know Hiro was there anymore. That being said, a smile was still on his face. At least she was entertained by the thoughts, right? If she was having fun, then who was Hiro to stop her? If she was enjoying herself, he would keep quiet until she was all done with what she was saying. It wasn't that he didn't pay attention to it, though, as it was important to note what it is one's potential girlfriend is talking about in order to pick up on their interests, but she did speak as though she were in a trance of some sort. Perhaps this was the benefit to her having had prior martial arts training in some way, and just as much a negative for Hiro having nothing of the sort. He remained silent, though, for the time being.
A slight pause occurred, as it seemed the Assassin had realized what exactly had been going on during her trance-like discussion with herself. As much as Hiro wanted to tease the girl about it, there wasn't even so much as a blush across her face as she snapped back to reality. Silently cursing under his breath, he thought about how he could make her even the slightest bit embarrassed. "Don't worry about it." Hiro said, chuckling. He needed to buy a little time, but not too much time. If he waited too long, he would miss his chance to catch her off guard. "Though, it's good that you said all that." He pulled a napkin from the small container on the table, and grabbed one of the pens from a nearby open table. He started to write down, jokingly. "I'll keep that in mind, for when I get you anything." He needed to play it up somehow. "No... Rings... Make... Her... Weapons..." He muttered, though loud enough for her to hear. Just as he said that, a sudden burst of inspiration had struck him. Inside, he laughed maniacally. Though, outward, he put the pen down on the table, brought his left arm up, and cupped his head into his hand. He rested his arm on the table from there.
"I'm not sure, though, now that I think about it..." Hiro looked directly into Sayha's eyes, a pondering complexion about him. He tried to keep as calm as possible, not wanting to give out what his plan was from there. The Monk started to sit up, and leaned onto the table a bit. He reached his arm over to Sayha, since the table itself wasn't too big, and put his hand gently against her cheek. From there, he lightly brushed her hair back with the back of his hand, and lifted her hair to the side a bit. "I think some earrings might look nice on you." He leaned onto his left arm slightly, and continued to look over the girl's face. "Maybe not some big, flashy ones, but maybe little studs, or something like that." Keeping his hand there for a few more moments, he started to retract his hand slowly, making sure not to mess up her hair from there. Hiro sat back up again, and brought his left hand to his chin, in a thinking position. He kept silent for the time being, trying to let the gravity of what he had just done settle in on the girl's mind. Hopefully, it would cause a shockwave to the girl, and at least some kind of a blush would form. That was his goal, since she did look pretty cute when her face gets a bit red. For now, all he could do was wait, though he tried to keep his eyes locked on her's. If she even looked away from him, he knew that his plan had worked.

It wasn’t the first time that Sayha had gone on ad nauseum about weapons with Hiro. She recalled the first time they had sat down and chat back when Hiro had invited Sayha over to his house, but that seemed like ages ago. Although this time, Sayha had gone on longer about weapons… which she really needed to work on. She didn’t get to talk to many people about them so when she did she just kinda… kept going. Though Hiro seemed to be okay with it, saying not to worry. What was curious though was what he said after, mentioning that it was a good thing she mentioned it. He took one of the napkins and a pen and wrote down something, though it make Sayha chuckle since he was joking.
After a moment, Hiro rested his head on one of his hands where his arm was resting on the table, saying maybe he wasn’t sure. Their eyes met, and Sayha felt her cheeks lightly flush up… though one thing that came to mind was at how comfortable and relaxed she was at that moment…
Hiro began to lean forward against the table, and something Sayha didn’t expect happened. He gently pushed the hair on her right side behind her ear and placed his hand on her cheek. Sayha instantly flushed up even more than she had before. He spoke gently, saying that earrings would look nice on her. He left his hand on her cheek for a moment longer before gently pulling back.
Sayha’s mind went wheeling. The way Hiro’s touch felt on her cheek was… comforting? Was that the right word? Her heart was beating way faster than it should… and she realized that she and Hiro were still looking into each other’s eyes and that she hadn’t said anything in response.
Sayha shifted her focus onto her hands which she at some point rested on the table. “I’m not… quite sure about that,” Sayha finally said, her voice much quieter than normal. Looking nice with jewelry and clothing had never been one of her strong suits… nor did she even bother to try. Her mother when she was younger helped her dress up but that seemed to be ages ago, and it might as well have been considering the circumstances…
Her cheek where Hiro had placed his hand was still warm from his touch, or at least it felt that way to her. She was at a loss for words which was very rare.

[attr="class","capsol"] VICTORY. While his outward emotions hadn't changed almost at all, a vicious grin appeared on the Monk's inner face. His plan to embarrass the girl had worked almost flawlessly. He had never seen her so flustered in all the time that they've been hanging out! Such a victory would need to be chronicled for years to come, as the girl whose love for weaponry was without measure has been brought to a flustered and embarrassed state as this. There was nothing to write this down on. Why was there never anything to write down on? Or anything to write with? Even a camera would be perfect. Hiro would call over to Sayha suddenly, get a surprised expression, and then snap a picture. Of course, this would warrant the destruction of Hiro's camera, as well as the possible ending of their relationship as a result. That would be a bit of an extreme, but it wouldn't do well to cause too much more distress for the girl as it is. She only managed to say a few quiet words in response to his action and thought. It took an incredible amount of self-containment to stop the Monk from walking over and hugging her.
While his attempt to cause embarrassment for the girl had worked so well, he found himself getting slightly lost. Sure, her eyes had shifted down to her hands upon the table, but he couldn't help but continue to look at the cherry-red face that was before him. His cheeky smile had started to shift to a more neutral, thinking emotion. Sure, she did look quite adorable when she got flustered, but this was one of the few times where Sayha had actually seemed incredibly girly. Not that she was masculine, but more that every part of her screamed 'gung-ho, kick your ass' at every turn. To see something like a soft spot in her personality was actually quite interesting, and, somehow, more attractive. Hiro wasn't too much into an overly girly type of girl, one that was generally shy and quiet, always sticking to the guy's side. He did enjoy seeing independence and a strong will in a woman, which Sayha more than definitely held. However, seeing her flush up and get as embarrassed as this was also nice to see every so often, as it showed a bit of a contrast between what she shows the rest of the world, and what she would likely only show to him. He wanted to see more of this flustered Sayha, as much as he wanted to see more of the powerful and confident Sayha.
He found himself forming a softer smile on his face, as he actually somehow managed to find himself more attracted to Sayha as a result of his own thought process. Hiro caught the smile, and decided to sit up from there. "I think you would, really. Nothing too flashy, and certainly not during any questing or combat, but maybe for special occasions." He leaned in just a tiny bit, keeping the smile on his face. He lowered his voice a tad to better accommodate the mood he felt. "I think it'd make you look a bit cuter than you do now, really." With that small segment thrown in, he decided that that would be a good place to stop. He wouldn't tease her anymore for right now, though that didn't mean he'd stop entirely. For the time being, Hiro would just try and keep conversation going. He reclined in the chair just a touch, and heightened his voice more. "I have to wonder what the food will be like, y'know? I've never eaten here before." His eyes wandered around the dining area, looking at some of the other foods that were at other peoples' tables. His stomach grumbled just a touch, but not loud enough to be heard yet. "Hope it's good, though. I probably shouldn't have, but I skipped lunch because I wanted to be hungry for when we got here." Returning his eyes to the Assassin, he gave a wry grin. "I tend to eat big lunches, so I usually eat dinner late, admittedly. One of my flaws, I guess you could say." A chuckle escaped his mouth, before he reached over and took a sip of the water. Hopefully the conversation change from here would help the girl out. He waited for any kind of response she'd give, going in for another drink of the water.

Sayha’s mind was filled with various thoughts that bounced around in her head. Mostly they were questions regarding whether what he was saying were real. Though they were undeniably real, no matter how embarrassed she was. Though it was the fact that anyone ways saying those things to where that was strange. No one except possibly her mother said things like that before. And to hear it coming from someone she actually liked… she never imagined that it could happen. Then again, finding someone she actually liked had never come across Sayha’s mind. She hadn’t really thought about it… until she met Hiro. She was just glad to have a friend, but then it turned into… well… more, and she was happy that Hiro had felt the same way. Of course, Sayha could have probably told him in a more convenient location than the middle of an underground tunnel where they were eventually attacked… but that was beside the point
Sayha quietly took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure. She could feel some of the heat in her face slowly fade. Once it faded a bit, Sayha looked back up at Hiro who was smiling softly. He said that she would look nice in earrings; not ones for all the time, but special occasion ones… she didn’t say anything because she wasn’t really sure what to think… and then he mentioned that she would look cuter with earrings. “I… still don’t quite know about that,” Sayha said softly.
Thankfully though, Hiro changed the subject which gave Sayha a chance to pull herself together more, the heat in her cheeks fading almost fully. Hiro mentioned wondering about the food and when it was going to come out… as well as mentioning that he skipped lunch, explaining that he normally ate large lunches as well as late dinners. It made Sayha smile as well as chuckle under her breath.
“I think it’s more of a habit than a flaw,” Sayha responded, “I don’t eat a lot, honestly. I run in the morning then eat a light breakfast. I eat lunch somewhere in the middle of the day if at all. Then my dinner is usually after my last workout of the evening before I study whatever I’m studying at the time. Right now I’m studying different herbs for my pharmacist subclass… though I have a bad tendency on overdoing the exercise… which is how most of my day is spent sadly. I probably should spend some more time in Londinium… or any of the cities and villages rather… Maybe with all the years I’ve spent by myself, I’ve turned into a hermit…. Or maybe I’ve always been one… Ah, sorry, you probably don’t want to hear that kind of stuff. But yeah, I do wonder where the food is… though honestly, I never really ate out at restaurants on the other side so I don’t know what the average time it takes for food to come out.” Sayha used that moment to take a drink of her lemonade. Hopefully another topic other than jewelry would come up…
