face all the pain and take it on Perhaps the library wasn't the best place for Rue to come following the events that had happened. But with new vigor in his thoughts for making a guild after his talk with Endrin, the Half-Alf had rushed out the very next day, intending to do his research on what he wanted to do. He knew that he'd have to get a little stronger before he went off to try anything, but that meant that he would have to do some more research. After all, that glance at the tome that had given him the information on the skeleton had certainly proved more than useful from what he'd learned, telling him the limits of his partner. So now he was here looking through the selection of novels that he could find in the area that he'd located and recently been rummaging through for information. So far there was a growing stack at his elbow, something that would have made him wince had he been a lesser person. He loved reading, always had, so the prospect of being able to tuck down again with a good book was something that had him rather excited, though he was rather contained in expressing it. Haru Katashi had rarely expressed any positive emotions in his life, not after his half-brother had betrayed him, and just because he was now RuetheDay didn't mean that that fact had changed.
If anything, his emotions were apparent in the way that he would investigate the books, flitting back and forth from the bookcases to the table with arms full of tomes that he had every intention of at least skimming, if not reading. When the librarian came into the room from where she'd been in the back organizing things, she had a shocked look on her face at the sight of the stack, and she strode forward, obviously intending to scold her, though he got up from his chair and went to head her off. "I know it's a lot of books," he stated, holding his hand up placatingly, "but I have every intention of reading them all, and I won't do anything to harm them, and when I'm finished, I'll even put them back exactly where I found them."
The woman blinked, surprised. "Are you sure, sweetie?" she asked, obviously still worrying about her books, and he nodded.
"Very, I treat books with respect. That doesn't change whether their my books or someone else's."
She wavered indecisively before nodding and then striding back across the room to her desk, leaving him to his books. He padded back to the table, one hand absent-mindedly combing through his long raven hair while he leaned down, running a finger along the backs of the tomes. Which ones would suit him best... that was the question that he wanted to answer. Shrugging and deciding to go with one on undead minions, something he'd been investigating for a little while, he tugged a few others on the subject out from the rest and then carefully replaced the rest of the stack, making a mental note of the various titles and locations for future reference. After that, he curled up in a chair, tucking his legs up underneath him, and cracked open the book, engrossing himself in the contents the same way he would a fantasy novel back in the real world. There wasn't a whole lot that would be able to interrupt him now... but if it happened, there would be some price to pay. He was sure of it. | Words;; 587 Tags;; DJMcloudNotes;; Sorry about this being so late, sweetie, meant to have this up before I did Endrin's, your post just turned into his orz Lyrics;; "The Only Hope for Me is You" by My Chemical Romance Template by Kuroya |

Tobias mumbled to himself as he entered the library. Normally the library would be the perfect place for someone like him who liked to hide himself up in places where he didn't have to worry about socializing and just enjoy whatever he was doing, libraries were sort of odd for him. There was an odd sort of mix between socialization and isolation in a library, there were usually many people there that mostly wanted to be left alone. While he wasn't entirely adverse to socializing, it usually put him off because of his shy introverted nature. It was the odd combination of wanting to be left alone to study and being surrounded by people that put him at odds, in general he'd rather be somewhere private to study but there was no better source of information in this world now.
That being said he did have his reasons for being here today. He had made his first sword as a blacksmith, he looked over to the sword strapped to his waist right now. The pink sword made from rose quartz, Rosewood. It was a good start but it was only slightly better than his starter weapon and was a somewhat shoddy sword over all. This was to be expected of course as he didn't actually know much about how to make swords and he knew from his experience with chefs that external knowledge could supplement the system's skills so he thought it might behoove him to do some research on swords and how they were actually made.
He made his way to the shelves and picked out a few books on weapons and weaponsmithing, carefully inspecting the designs and structures of the weapons there. He thought his pink sword was lovely but he realized just how elegant weapons could become when crafted by a real blacksmith. He would have to work harder to increase his skills. After flipping through a few books he soon found there was more information here than he could readily hope to digest, he was going to have to sit down and really study if he wanted to take it all in.
He held the small stack of books in his hands and made his way towards one of the tables. Being the clumsy boy that he was he didn't notice the small stack of books left on the floor by the table of one of the other patrons and tripped, his own stack flying out of his hands and his body crashing into the stack made by another male. He fell to the ground soon after and rubbed his head, groaning and looking around. Books were now scattered everywhere and things were just a mess. "Oh my, no!" He gasped and shot up, wincing a bit at his aching head. He turned to the male and whimpered. "I'm so sorry... I-I tripped and... sorry..." He grumbled, quickly picking up the books that had been scattered and trying to sort out which ones were his and clean up the mess he made, hoping he hadn't upset the other male.

face all the pain and take it on RuetheDay was completely engrossed in the book, his finger delicately trailing over the parchment, chasing after the dark streaks of ink as though he hoped to gather them all up and paint his finger black with them. It may not have been quite as action-packed as the old dungeons and dragons books that he had been so fond of reading back when he was in the real world, but it was no less interesting, the Half-Alf eagerly devouring the printed words. He nodded to himself, tucking bits and pieces of information away like scraps of fabric inside of a bird's nest, and he nodded to himself. So he could craft higher level weapons and armor - er, well, he couldn't craft it, but he could obtain the higher level materials from other players - and equip them to his new skeleton minion without having to deal with them possibly disappearing later on since he'd dismissed the Follower back to wherever it came. The books were confirming his suspicion that the skeleton warrior actually had been some past fighter, though he still wasn't quite sold on the thought, not sure if he wanted to believe that the creature had existed long before he had ever come to the game when he knew that the Unfounded Kingdom hadn't existed for too much earlier prior to now, though by this point, he wasn't quite sure which had come first, the online server or the world itself.
It was a fascinating topic for him to think about, and he would have devoted more time to it had he not had other things to do as well. He licked one finger, reaching to turn the next page in his tome, when suddenly there was a loud crash, and the Summoner shot up in his seat, a curse on his tongue when he paused, faltering when he saw the culprit, a rather small... what appeared to be a Wolf Hair, scrambling around on the floor trying to pick everything back up. Immediately, Rue sighed, the Japanese dying on his tongue, and he quickly found his tongue swapping back to English. "Don't worry about it, accidents happen," he replied with a wave of one hand, getting out of his chair and crouching down to help gather the tomes back up again, sorting them out into a few piles with a glance at the cover. "And uh... oh Kami, what's the saying again? No use crying over spilled milk?" He grimaced, orange eyes betraying a slight hint of sheepishness usually absent in the Half-Alf Summoner. "I'm Japanese in origin, and even though I've been in England for almost all of my life, sometimes my brain gets stuck in one language over the other."
Straightening up to his feet again and letting the tomes bang against the table as he shifted their weight from his arms to the wood, he then gave a slight bow before offering his hand in the Western fashion, the habit of doing both having been drilled into him by his parents, and although he would usually go without both, sometimes the habit would show itself at the strangest times, this being one of them, though he supposed that it wasn't such a bad thing if the other was someone who had such a respect for books. "You can call me Rue by the way." He then blinked when he saw the title of the book, brow furrowing. "You're a blacksmith?" he asked, surprise coloring his tone before he schooled himself. "Sorry, I just wouldn't have pegged you for it. Blacksmiths don't usually come in to read about how to make weapons." He then chuckled. "Though I suppose animal tamers don't either..." | Words;; 617 Tags;; DJMcloudNotes;; Wheeee postie mc post post :3 Lyrics;; "The Only Hope for Me is You" by My Chemical Romance Template by Kuroya |

Tobias whimpered softly as he plopped onto his hands and knees, still scrambling to pick all the books up. The last thing he wanted to do was to make a fuss and the library was possibly the worst place of all to make any sort of ruckus. The boy always wished to avoid unneeded attention and it seemed he failed at this even in his humble pursuit of trying to study up on his crafting skill in this environment. He rubbed his knee, it hurt a little after that fall but he was more worried about getting all this cleaned up before someone noticed and not upsetting the other male now standing over him.
He stacked up his own books on the table next to the ones of the other person's across the table. He noticed themes as he picked them up, his were generally about weapons and smithing while the other's had to do with familiars and summoning and other types of assisted taming and such. He organized the books into piles as he got them cleaned up with the help of the other male and stood up with a slight wince, his knee was going to sting for a little bit now. He decided to sit down across from the other man to rest his leg a bit if not out of any sociable inclinations.
He was happy to see the other person didn't seem upset at him for causing the accident. They seemed to be rather forgiving at least which made him breathe a soft sigh of relief and relax a bit. He said something about milk that he didn't quite get through his own thoughts and the man's own confusion. Wasn't there no drinking in the library? "M-Milk? No thanks, I'm lactose intolerant..." He blinked a bit, confused. "Thank you for understanding though. I'm Tob-... I mean DJ I guess..." He still hadn't gotten used to offering his screen name instead of his real name.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Rue." He nodded softly, deciding to stay in his seat for a bit so he could rest his leg, his stack of books was now set here anyway so he didn't see the need to relocate unless the other man objected. He looked over the books he had picked out, he supposed it must have been rather obvious what he was doing since his new acquaintance had deduced his craft so easily. Not that he was exactly trying to hide it or anything.
"Y-Yeah... I'm a blacksmith. I know I don't look the type. Most blacksmiths are big and burly and confident and such... not... well... me." He laughed softly and rubbed the back of his head nervously. "But yeah I am, I've always done better trying to get a theoretical grasp on something through reading and thinking about it as opposed to jumping right into it. That makes it a little hard to make the jump when the time comes but it's how I learn I guess..." He shrugged softly, trying not to ramble too much.

face all the pain and take it on RuetheDay chuckled at the words offered. "Guess I got the saying wrong then," he replied, shrugging. He heard the slight slip-up, but he didn't make a comment on it, not wanting to make the other feel uncomfortable. "DJ... I'll remember that," he stated, nodding to himself. He blinked at the next statement, orange eyes confused, and then he laughed, the sound echoing off of the walls. "No need for formalities, it's not like I'm really old enough for that anyway." He shrugged, watching the other settle down in a chair, and although he might have otherwise been bothered by someone intruding upon his space, the Wolf Hair seemed quiet enough, to the point where it didn't actually disturb him to look at the prospect of sharing the table with the other.
Instead, he took his own seat, leaning back in the chair and closing his eyes. "It's okay, DJ, I probably look exactly the type for what I am. After all, it stands to reason that a Summoner would be an Animal Tamer and an Alchemist." He was quiet for a moment, thinking hard about his past, the ways that he was pushed to the corner and left alone to self-destruct as Haru Katashi; before he was reborn as RuetheDay, he was a wreck, and he knew it. "I know I probably can't help you with... well, near about anything. But I feel like if we don't try to at least fight for things, to be what we want to be rather than what we were. So if there's anything I can do to help, you can just ask me. I'd be more than happy to lend a hand if I can." He straightened out again. "And I get it too. I like reading before I try to Summon anything. I prefer to have some background about what I'm working with before I do anything, if that makes sense."
Rue wasn't usually this talkative, but then again, he'd never claimed to be antisocial. In the right circumstances, he could get along quite well with people, providing they weren't disturbing him or hoping that he would use their brains for them; DJ wasn't doing either. Even better, they were on a subject that the Half-Alf could talk about forever, books, so it wasn't as if he would likely change anything either. He decided that he was going to be pro-active. He opened up the menu, quickly scrolling through the options until he found the friends option, sending a request to the Wolf Hair in front of him. "There. If you accept that, you'll be able to get in touch with me no matter how far we get in the game." He shrugged. "I may not be someone who needs a blacksmith, but us bookworms ought to stick together." | Words;; 467 Tags;; DJMcloudNotes;; I WILL SPEEDPOST THIS CRAP SO HELP ME Lyrics;; "The Only Hope for Me is You" by My Chemical Romance Template by Kuroya |
