[attr="class","tempo"] [attr="class","appbox1"] In the game, Jaridavin stands a 5' tall. His physical build seems to be on a more skinnier side, although not too far from the average. His hair is short and red, while his eyes are purple. In the real world, Jarid shares similarities with his in game character. To start, their skin colors are both the same, as well as their height. However, Jarid was a bit more skinnier, as well as his hair being longer. Both his hair and his eyes were brown, but his hair was a lighter brown. The choice of clothing seems quite different too. In the game, Jaridavin prefers armor and clothing that's either more Japanese style, or clothing like short sleeved shirts. He seemed to enjoy the appearance of both, although so far only has had access in game to the second type of clothing due to his level. In real life, the difference would show. He wears big clothing, like hoodies, that try to hide as much skin as possible. Only his head and hands are visible for skin, concerned about appearances. | [attr="class","tempo"] [attr="class","appbox1"] Jaridavin can seem either excited or very concerned. He seems to put himself down a good bit, but he isn't someone that pushes away praise. Due to having trouble making friends at places like school, once he gets close enough to someone he ends up seeming clingy to them. This is true for both in the game, and in real life, not trying to fake anything. When he feels like he's holding a group back, he's quick to admit and feel ashamed to it, whether or not he actually is. This thought of being the one to blame is why he lacks confidence. Although still harsh on himself, he isn't as harsh online, as one less concern runs on his mind. |

Jarid was born into an upper-middle class family, being spoiled a bit while growing up. He at least sometimes got what he wanted and didn't have to do everything his parents told him to. He felt proud and big about himself until school started, and he was in Kindergarten. Kids already made fun of him behind the teacher's back, either because of what he wore, what he had to food, his short hair, the list can go on. He had no friends at this point, and didn't know how to deal with bullying. He ended up not telling anyone and tried to ignore it, but over the years it only got worse. It had a changing effect.
He didn't wear what he liked before, choosing to cover up as much skin as he could. He let his hair grow out, not because he liked it longer, but so that they wouldn't call him names for having really short hair. He also was eating less, sometimes not eating lunch at all out of worry of a student bullying him by hitting the food away or taking it from him. He tends to feel better after school is over, trying to get his mind off of it all. He has his own entertainment at home to get rid of it, and despite the bullying that happens to him almost every day, he still shows to have good grades. He felt like if he succeeded in his games, then he could succeed in other areas.
In his games, Jarid felt like he was more important. His actions could shape what happens, although that usually happened in the RPG's that he played. That was his favorite kind of game, thinking to himself that maybe if someone like in the games he plays starts weak and grows to become strong, that maybe he'll reach a point where they stop making fun of him. Although he never really did online games, Elder Tale being a first time experience online. He heard about it over at school, the students mentioning it. Seeing how much he could customize, he decided he wanted the character to look like how he did. He seemed to find enjoyment even just looking at the character, although his concern was sitting on performance. He was so unfamiliar with online games and had no idea what to do. He'd soon be forced to learn and adapt.

Main Class: Samurai
[attr="class","skillbox1"]
Ace Move: Bushi Chousen (Samurai's Challenge) - Tier I - Chain 1 Defensive. When used, resets any current Chain to 0. If an opponent performed an attack on you between this turn and your next turn, raise your Chain by 1. A move often used to start the battle. The Samurai issues a valiant taunt toward all enemies in the immediate area, challenging them to take up arms in a grand duel of honor. The animation of this skill is somewhat flashy and when it was a game, there were even videos of fandubs speculating what the samurai might have said. Needless to say, it carries on in this game too. This skill generates a high amount of aggro when used early on in a fight, an amount which decreases gradually over time. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds.
Bushido: Iaido (Art of the Draw) - Tier I - Passive. Samurai have a honed and disciplined mind. Their visualization and training enable their first strike when their katana is drawn from the sheath to deal additional damage and threat. A Samurai is granted a free Iaido strike before performing a Chain 1 ability or after completing a Chain 3 or higher ability. This skill can only activate once per chain. This strike does not break the chain, allowing the Samurai to perform a skill in the same turn.
Parry - Tier I - A hard parry that is delivered to reduce the force of an incoming attack. It is a system-assisted action that controls the body in the face of an oncoming attack, designed to reduce the damage from an attack as much as possible. Thus, while anyone can parry an attack given the right timing and momentum and achieve mixed results, activating this skill is probably one of the safest defenses against such an attack. Allowing the system free reign of one's own actions, however, may perhaps prove somewhat difficult in terms of flexibility. Despite that, this skill is one of the most basic and effective defensive techniques of the Warrior classes. Parry has an animation time of 1 second and a cooldown of 5 seconds. This cooldown is doubled to 10 seconds if used by any other class.

Apprentice - Level I - A subclass that is often picked by players more inexperienced with MMOs, particularly those who are undecided as to their long-term goals. The apprentice subclass relies upon the Teacher System, where the apprentice designates a more experienced player as their teacher. They would then be able to inherit some of their teacher's subclass skills and receive a head start for when they switch into another subclass that utilizes the inherited skills. Although the implications of this subclass imply that it can be used to copy a variety of subclasses without ultimately deciding on one, ultimately this jack of all trades ability is limited to the number of willing teachers one can find.

Blacksmith - Level 1 - Considering Elder Tale's nature as a fantasy MMORPG, it is no surprise that the role of the Blacksmith is a centralized position well respected among the crafting and general community. The blacksmith is able to refine scrap metal and old tools into material and upgraded weapons. No matter what class you are, as long as you use anything metal-based, it is necessary for you to gain the favor of these crafters if you want to survive on the frontlines for a long time. Their unparalleled experience with metalwork also makes them excellent partners with prospective mechanics.
