It wasn't something she could entirely help, though, so she would just have to suck it up. It was still a bit too early in the morning (the sun was still enjoying its slumber while the fading moon filled in for it), so she was not keen on the idea of calling up Indy or Adler to accompany her. She figured they, along with the rest of the gang, would be fast asleep around this hour. 'Lucky them for having regular sleeping schedules, I guess.'
Perhaps she should still feel nervous as she passed the gate to the world outside, one hand resting on the hilt of her kukri, the "one handed sword" she had commissioned from an unknown blacksmith at the Funeral Parlor. Capsule unsheathed the blade now to examine the beauty of it. She had given the man - or who she believed to be male, anyway, as it was traditionally a field for men - a rather simple description, and he had turned it into a work of art by adding his own little touches to the weapon. Even the requested snarling wolf head had surpassed her expectations. For a level ten weapon, it looked and felt dangerous, to the point where she was a little afraid of wielding it. If she wasn't careful, she could end up injuring herself.
The woman smiled nervously to herself before carefully sheathing the blade. It was to be her backup weapon, so to speak. She was a class fit for staying in the back, so the only times she would need to swing at an enemy was if the front line had been cleaved through, and the back or middle targeted. As the support, she was there to make the battle easier for her allies, but harder for her enemies. Her grimoire would be her main weapon, though she still carried the starter tome. It would need to be replaced as soon as possible, preferably by Indy. But that was a time for another day. Today would be focused on leveling up her recently acquired Animal Trainer subclass. The class would allow her to "recruit" monsters over to her side, to fight for or with her. It was the only way she would be able to solo, but a relatively strong monster was needed before she could safely go far on her own. Starting small was what she would be forced to do, however.
Capsule had stayed up late last night, reading a scroll on her class from a fellow Animal Trainer. While reading, she had left her recently crafted music box playing, and her ever faithful Magic Light was there to bathe her in light. The process seemed simple enough; she just needed to approach a monster without startling it, and treat it right while it was in her care. If she did that, it would stick around for a little while longer, and could even be convinced to stay by her side. The woman, who considered herself to be very good when it came to handling animals, was confident that she would be able to recruit one to her cause.
She would be starting off very small, though; despite the wave of confidence she was feeling. Something like a Young Pittered Boar or Frenmic Rabbit would do for now. 'Little bunnies are so cute,' she thought with a shy smile. She considered rabbits to be her "spirit animal." They were generally peaceful little critters, until you backed them into a corner, and… Capsule paused, suddenly unsure how the two were related at all. Did that also meant she thought of herself as cute, if she felt the same about rabbits and claimed them as her spirit animal? These were thoughts that the redhead was starting to regret having, but at least no one could reach into her mind to access it - not unless she had accidentally called a friend and was transmitting those thoughts to them right now.
After checking that she was indeed the only one privy to her thoughts, Capsule stepped out into the beautiful, yet treacherous, Savill Flower Grove. The sun was just poking its sleepy head out of bed, slowly bathing the landscape in shades of red. The equally redheaded woman stopped for a few minutes to enjoy the sunrise, and then resumed her search for something low leveled and non-hostile.

The amount of young boars she saw was staggering, however. There were more than a few Slimes, as well, which she knew to avoid from personal experience. On their own, they paid little mind to an Adventurer, but if they were spotted in groups and saw that you held a lot of mana, they would flock to and try to overwhelm you. This was exactly the sort of thing Capsule was worried about when she had stepped out this morning.
An hour later, she soon found herself hiding up a tree from one of the lesser monsters. All around her, the leaves rustled and Adventurers in the far distance laughed or cheered. Beneath her, a series of grunts came from one of the boars she had been chased by. Capsule remained perfectly silent and still on her perch, not even daring to try out her new Scout skill. She had Pulse Bullet as her main "offensive" skill, but that could only do so much. 'I think it would be best for me to remain hidden until it goes away.'
It did go away, but by the time it did so, Capsule's arms and bottom felt sore. She carefully climbed down the tree, just in time to see something small and brown dart into the underbrush. 'A rabbit! I think…' It looked too small to be a boar or slime. The redhead decided to take a risk. If it was a boar, she could always retreat and return to the safety of her tree. If not, well, she may just have herself a new friend.
The bush rustled again when she stepped towards it, and a soft keening began to keen. It did not sound like how she imagined a rabbit to sound, though. "Hello?" She carefully leaned down, and pushed the bush apart with the flat side of her blade. The keening grew louder, and the more she listened to it, the more she was certain that it was not a rabbit at all, but a bird of some sorts.
Although she had lived in the city for most of her life, she still managed to hear her fair share of birds, but few of the local birds possessed a voice as shriek as this. Was it a baby bird, then? Or something one did not usually find in the urban areas? Her first thought was an owl, something she had seen a few times while out camping with her family as a child, but had only heard them go hoot hoot hoot. Surely they possessed the capacity for higher means of communication, but the hoots were the only sounds she could associate them with. "Are you hurt? I promise I won't hurt you." That would be stupidly counterproductive, when all she was trying to do was recruit a furry little critter to her cause. Frenmic Rabbits were her best choice, unless she wanted to settle for a Young Pittered Boar.
The keening stopped, but the lack of any rustling that hinted at movement did not follow. Was it trying to fake her out, or was it merely too tired to keep up with the distress call? Or it could be crouched down, waiting to attack her when she least expected it. Capsule shook her head and opened her mouth to sing, with no thought to the lyrics prior to doing so.
"Frère Jacques, frère Jacques, Dormez-vous ? Dormez-vous? Sonnez les matines ! Sonnez les matines! Ding, daing, dong. Ding, daing, dong~."
Her understanding of the French language was minimal, but she knew a few simple phrases and small songs such as these. One of her parent's neighbors was an old French woman, who had looked after her and her brothers from time to time, when their mother couldn't be there to watch over them. The neighbor had a piano and would play it while they struggled to sing along with her in her native tongue. Capsule only remembered this song because it was one she used to sing to herself in comfort as a child. Perhaps it might even help Mr. Shy Paws over here, too.

"Come now, don't be shyAAAAAH!" A brown blur filled her vision as the rabbit flew from its hiding spot, and after being struck hard on the forehead, Cap found herself seeing stars. She fell back onto her bottom, eyes squeezed shut and head pounding. 'Ugh…' Just what the hell was that about?! "Bad...bunny," she groaned as she raised a hand to tentatively press it against her throbbing brow. 'You try to help someone, and this is the thanks you get.' This is why she often couldn't be bothered to care for someone else, and why she would have made a terrible healer.
She lowered her hand, forcing herself to open her eyes and squint out at her surroundings. The rabbit appeared to be gone, or so she assumed; there was no immediate movement to her left or right, and she failed to hear any rustling or other telltale signs. It was rather disheartening. Even if she had failed, she would have liked to recruit the monster, though did that require her to be in ongoing combat with another creature? 'There's so much about this skill that I do not know.'
Giving up now was a little too premature, but her first failure was also hitting her a little too hard. Now grumbling to herself, Capsule rubbed her forehead once more before struggling onto her feet - and stopped. The keening sound from before was back, and louder than before. 'What now?' Had it really been a bird she had heard, and not the rabbit? Executing a bit more caution now, Capsule leaned back into the bush, pulling the ends apart so that she could get a better view of the animal within.
What she saw made her softly "D'aaw." It was a small, brown and white owl, with the feathers on its head sticking out at odd angles, like a man's ruffled haircut. The owl glared up at her like a petulant child, and gave a little "hoot!" by way of greeting. It was sitting awkwardly on the ground, one wing tucked to its body, and the other stuck out at an odd angle. Capsule winced when she saw that the wing was broken - or at least sprain. "Poor little guy."
The owl hopped back when she reached out for it, but couldn't get too far without entangling itself in the shrubbery. "Hey! Hold still, before you hurt yourself even more." Unable to go anywhere but forward, the owl pecked at her fingers. Capsule gritted her teeth through the pain, and gently grabbed the owl by its feet. There was a flurry of feathers and much keening, but she backed away with the owl firmly in her grasp. "Cut it out," she hissed. "You're injured - you'll die out here on your own." If the owl didn't die from starvation, it would die to one of the many monsters or Adventurers out here.

Capsule did her best to shush the nervous owl. It stopped crying long enough to regard her with wide, stern eyes, but then went back to being fussy. "Hey, I'm a Pharmacist, alright? I'll help mend your wing if you calm down, and set you free again once it's fully healed." She would like to keep it if possible, but it would not be able to help her out in battle. "For now, please be quiet so that you don't-" It was too late.
The curious boar from before was back, and it had brought a friend. "Oh, hell's bells…" She would have ran back up the tree, but that would mean abandoning the injured owl, and she simply could not allow that. Like monsters or People of the Land, it would die for good when killed. She would have to hunt down another owl or wait for one to hatch if that happened; assuming she wanted one, anyway. 'I guess I can try recruiting one of these pigs, even though I would much rather have a rabbit.' When she saw that one of the boars was too young to have it tusks, she almost wept tears of joy. 'Awyis!' "Hey there, little guy," she cooed to the Young Pittered Boar. Maybe her Scout skill would work better on an actual monster?
The young boar grunted softly as it gazed up at her, its head tilted a bit to the left. "How would you like some nice, juicy herbs?" The boar squealed in excitement and straightened its head, little eyes full of glutinous glee. '...I can't believe it can be so easily bribed by food.' The rabbit had not been impressed by her approach, though now she wondered if it was because she had failed to offer it food in return for its services.
The boar grunted greedily as it approached Capsule with caution. The older boar that led it here, however, just stood still and observed. "Here you are, little boar," she said as she reached into her magic bag for a stolen apple. The boar danced around her ankles, still grunting. All the while, its fellow seemed to be growing more and more agitated, until it was starting forward, head down and wearing a piggish scowl. "You'll get your reward when you've earned it," Capsule said as she pulled her arm back. "Your first order of business is to attack that older friend or brother of yours!"
The young boar did not need to be told twice. It spun around and charged towards the older boar, which broke out into a trot when it saw what its brother was up to. The boars collided head on, though without any tusks, the younger could not block the elder’s with its own. Capsule felt (absurdly) like some kind of pocket monster trainer. ”Don’t let him push you back! Knock him off, and I shall reward you with the freshest and crispest of apples!” The young boar grunted as it dug its trotters into the ground and pushed. The boar she was rooting for was a mere level five, but the boar it was struggling against was level seven. ”Go on! Push! Push! Push!” Capsule was getting so excited that she threw up an arm, startling the owl into raising its wings.
The odds seemed stacked against the younger boar, but it was determined to gobble down that delicious apple. It was then that Capsule started to suspect the boar of stupidity, but at least it was allowing her to properly use this class. The boar squealed through its teeth as it dug its snout under the elder pig’s and forced its head back with a hard shove. The pig stumbled and tripped over its own feet before crashing into the ground. The younger reared up and cheered, and then slammed its front two feet onto the monster before it.
A cry of pain and fear rent the air as the elder was assaulted. ”Now! Finish it off, Sir Hog!” The boar grunted in agreement as it began to roll the elder under its feet, as if it were a big, leathery ball. Then, in a rather cruel manner, repeatedly slammed its feet into the other pig. The elder ceased crying after the initial few blows, choosing to curl up into a quivering ball. Was it a little brutal? Yes. Did Capsule care? No. She was actually kind of enjoying this; it was just one monster beating another silly, after all. Had it been a pair of humans, she may have felt uncomfortable and left – or just watched as one was beaten to a bloody pulp.
”Good work,” she called out to the boar as it backed away from the now incredibly weakened elder. Capsule tossed the apple to the boar, which quickly snatched up the apple and began tearing into it. As for the elder, she strolled towards it and finished it off with a swing of her kukri. Having a pet around to allocate the damage while she supported from afar could be handy, but she would have to be careful of the monster turning on her as well. ”Come on, Sir Hog.” She patted her hip and the boar came on over, grunting softly with each step. With this gullible little boar at her side, she just might be able to tame the rabbit she so wanted.

The rabbits were skittish and only attacked when they were cornered. This boar, albeit a bit idiotic, was braver and tougher. ’It’s not as cute as a rabbit, though. Perhaps if it was a teacup pig…’ Capsule winced in pain when the little owl pecked at her arm. ”Ow! Relax. I’ll…find someone who can properly set your wing later.” Although the woman was a Pharmacist, she only held a limited knowledge on potion making and the like. She knew even less about dealing with broken bones or deep set wounds.
There was, however, an Animal Trainer who lived near her own little hovel. The man was absolutely smitten with birds, and had an aviary (more like a roof covered with mesh netting devoted to several species of birds. Capsule knew this because she often heard the birds at night, and could see them flying to and fro at all hours of the day. She had never felt the need to visit the man, though she was certain his love for birds would encourage him to help her out. ’He just has to!’ She wanted this owl to live, and would do her best to help him. Maybe it was the fact that this owl was a helpless animal that made her want to come to its aid, when she would normally leave it to fend for itself – though her only experience in doing this involved humans. Humans could be such cruel bastards; mainly children, as Cap knew from experience.
As if to remind Capsule that he was still here, the young boar nudged at her leg. ”Oh, hello to you, too. Can I interest you in another scrumptious apple?” The pig squealed and began to prance about in delight at the offer. It was rather cute, and brought a smile to her face. The owl, on the other hand, was far from impressed. The look it gave the boar was nothing short of condescending. Capsule reached into her bag and brought out a small, red apple, which she handed to the eager pig. It munched this one faster than the other. ”Slow down, before you choke. Geeze. Did you even stop to taste your food?” Look at her, chastising a pig! A passing Adventurer paused to give her a funny look, but was quickly on his way again when “Sir Hog” growled at him. It was so unbecoming that she snorted in laughter. ”Good pig~.”
With the Young Pittered Boar at her side, Capsule had fewer enemies dare to approach her. The slimes lost heart and shuffled back to whence they came, and small group of Young Pittered Boars turned their heads away to resume grazing. The latter were largely non-hostile, at least, so there was no real threat there. It was the older boars and monsters that had her worried, but as long as she kept to areas frequented by lower level monsters, she should be fine. She figured that it would not make sense for the Frenmic Rabbits to be in higher leveled areas; they would frequently be targeted by stronger enemies, so it behooved them to stick near their non-hostile allies. Otherwise, they would be living in fear for the duration of their short lived lives. This may have once been a video game, but if the People of the Land could gain sentience, then the animals, monsters and familiars had their own as well. It was partially why she had bothered to even stop to help the owl.
”Do you sense or see any rabbits, Sir Hog?” It had started off as a nickname, but now Capsule couldn’t help but to refer to the pig as such. Sir Hog’s head was tilted to the side as he gaped up at her. Whether or not he understood anything that did not involve food was questionable. ”Rabbits? Carrots?” Sir Hog perked right up, a devious little glint in his eyes. ”…Ok. Can you show me where the destroyers of carrots are?” The pig’s eyes darkened. He was clearly outraged by the idea of rabbits enjoying food he considered “his.” ’…This pig is going to eat up my stock of food if I bring him home.’ Her “stock” was technically too small to even be thought of one. It was more like she was just getting started.
Sir Hog grunted again and swiftly turned to run down an unexplored path. Capsule was forced to jog just to keep up, careful to hold her arm steady for the owl’s sake, which was now perched on her skinny bicep. The nameless owl looked less than pleased by this development, and even reminded her a bit of Indy, due to how he carried himself. It was like the owl was royalty. ”Hm…how do you feel about the name ‘Duke’?” The owl squinted and shuffled further down her arm. ”What about Ferdinand, as in ‘Archduke Franz Ferdinand’? Maybe that rabbit was trying to assassinate you, but my interference caused it to fail. It would be like preventing the first World War.”
The owl – Duke – made no objections to being referred to as Archduke Franz Ferdinand. He merely shook himself a bit before settling down again, looking calm and collected. ”You’re rather easy to please, aren’t you?” She resisted the urge to lightly touch the bird’s head feathers, afraid of being bitten or scratched. Less than thirty minutes was not enough to domesticate an animal. ”Would you like some seeds? I should have some sunflower seeds around here, somewhere…” She started to rummage through her magic bag, only to be shrieked at by the bird. ”…No?” The owl relaxed, which she took as a “yes.” ”Fine, but I don’t have any mice – on me…” The woman trailed off as she remembered the rats lurking about her apartment. ”I happen to have some at home, though, if you want to accompany me?” It was very slight, but she saw the owl’s eyes peek in her direction. ”Yep~. I have a real problem with them, so it would be nice to have an…exterminator.” The bird looked away, though Capsule was positive that she had won him over. Who could resist free food?

This one was only level two, so Capsule stood a better chance of converting it. The rabbit was crouched in the middle of someone's vegetable patch, and had its back turned to them as it dug up some choice cabbages. It was the perfect setup, though Capsule would have to be careful of spooking the little critter - a challenge made difficult by the skittish nature of the rabbits. "I want you to stay here," she whispered to Sir Hog. The boar looked disappointed; it wanted to romp about in the garden and eat its fill, too.
Capsule stalked forward, her arm with the owl curled towards her chest. Duke gave a soft hoot as he hopped higher up onto her shoulder, and gently nipped the side of her neck. She had no idea if that was a good or bad thing, but at least he didn't break the skin. 'He's only being nice to me because he knows I'm going to feed him later.' What was it with animals and monsters using her? 'It could be worse, I guess.' At least it wasn't people. She got enough of being used in the outer world; she did not need that stress in her life here.
Due to her upbringing, Meike Pfeiffer was as meek as a church mouse. She lacked the courage to stand up for herself in most situations, and was more likely to run away or endure than fight back. Like her mother, she was constantly on the brink of complete submissiveness, but had enough sense to resist it. It was one of the many reasons the thought of romance made her uneasy. What if she had a penchant for the overly dominant types? It wouldn't be hard for someone she loved to guilt trip her into something. All of her "potential" love interests shared some similarities to her father, whose relationship with her mother was the one she was most exposed to. Sure, there were better examples, but they all came off as weird and imbalanced to her, even when she knew that there were healthier relationships than her parents'.
Life was weird like that.
Resisting the urge to hunker down and hug herself as a form of self-pity, Capsule resumed staking the thieving rabbit. She stepped quietly, but not so much to catch the rabbit completely off guard; that would only spook it. Making noise, even a little, was optimal for this situation. It alerted the rabbit of her presence, in a way that let it know that someone was nearby and doing their own thing.
Sir Hog seemed to lose interest in her when she used her Scout skill on the Frenmic Rabbit. Perhaps this meant that she could tame one monster at a time? Duke was pretty much stuck with her, so his reactions meant little. The rabbit looked from Capsule and back to its dug up cabbage. She had already bribed a boar with an apple, so why shouldn't the same work on the rabbit?

Muse: PiperNotes:Stand in this lie.Tags:CapsuleWords:768[newclass=.benetbar]background-color:#050505; border: 2px solid #050505; border-radius: 5px; overflow: hidden; width: 100px; height:6px;[/newclass] [attr="class","benetbar"] [newclass=.benetbar]background-color:#050505; border: 2px solid #050505; border-radius: 5px; overflow: hidden; width: 100px; height:6px;[/newclass] [attr="class","benetbar"] For the second time this day, Capsule was butted by a Frenmic Rabbit, but not by the one she was trying to communicate with. It was a different rabbit this time, a little bigger than the one in front of her. Her immediate thought was that this was the rabbit's mother, which made a lick of sense, given its higher level and aggression. Would it be possible for her to get the younger rabbit to turn on its parent? A little grunt from Sir Hog brought memories of his small scale rebellion, and her own upbringing. Was this little rabbit also repressed by its elder and better? "Don't allow yourself to be governed and bullied around by your parental unit!" Now she sounded as foppish as that purple tongued youth she ran into at the Cathedral one morning. It was kind of… icky, for lack of a better word; on the bright side, she had garnered the rabbit's attention. The rabbit looked from its cabbage, to its mother, and then back to Capsule. "Come on - don't you want to be free?" She extended her hand towards the rabbit, who perked up and balanced itself up on its hind legs. There comes a time in every child's life when they must leave the nest, and this rabbit was no different. Its species held a short life span, so it was only natural for them to strike out on their own at a faster rate than other monsters. Capsule, back when she was a child, had often wished to be free of the invisible shackles that held her in place. Her father was not a warm man, and it showed in the way he handled his children or laid with his wife; the walls of their apartment were thin enough for them to hear the awkward sounds of their parent's union. Her brothers sometimes joked about pillow biting when neither mother or father were within hearing range. Details like that frightened the girl, and made her cling to her mother in attempts to comfort the woman. As much as she loved her mother, she dreaded the thought of becoming her - miserable and unhappily married to a man who didn't know how to or refused to value her worth. How they even came to be a couple was also beyond Capsule's understanding. Her eldest brother never described them as affectionate when he was the only child, so it's not as if their relationship soured over time. Asking her father was pointless, and her mother kept mum. Although, meeting her grandparents for the first time explained it well enough; the relationship her grandfather had with her grandmother was the same. Her mother had learned from her mother, and the older woman may have learned from her mother. It was a vicious cycle, and would only continue if Capsule allowed it to. Her eldest brother had allowed what he learned from his father to take over his life, and while he was a bit gentler with his wife, it still showed. Her other brothers were kinder, being closer in age to their sister, and after seeing how their mother was treated. Whether or not the rabbit had the same upbringing, she did not know; she was not gifted with the ability to talk to animals. Regardless, she wanted to help it be free, even if that meant never seeing its mother again. Moving out had been difficult for her as well, but she saw it as something she needed to do, if she ever wanted to be independent and free from her father's influence. Her mother still kept in touch, and was the main reason Capsule bothered to show up at their small family gatherings. It was rough, but she managed. It was a part of living and growing up. "Follow me - I'll take you places you have never seen." She was that bad influence, the one to lead the innocent astray. 'If anyone had offered to help me, I would have taken it, no questions asked.' She would also be forever in their debt, but wouldn't realize the gravity of the situation until much later. The seduction of freedom could make people careless and hasty. The rabbit shuffled forward after a moment, abandoning the cabbage and its mother for hopes of a new life. The mother rabbit snarled and lunged forward. "Careful!" Dirt was kicked up into the air as paws raised and swiped through the air. Capsule's rabbit growled and pounced on its mother, tearing and biting at the older rabbit. It was committing the ultimate crime - matricide.

It had picked a fight with its stronger parent, and would lose at this rate. The palms of Capsule's hands were slick with sweat as she pulled at the hilt of her sheathed kukri. The only one available to help the rabbit was her. This was also her fault for spurring the rabbit on in the first place. If she could save it, that might allow her to Domesticate it, thanks to her recently acquired Animal Trainer skill. While she had been out this morning, her levels had slowly climbed and climbed until she was past level eleven and eligible for her next skill. What better time than this one was there to test it out? "Mrgrgr!" That was the closest to a battle cry that Capsule could attempt, which admittedly sounded silly to her ears after she uttered it. The beautiful blade of Volkova sang and shone when it was released from its sheath. She felt dangerous just by holding this small, one handed blade, though would likely go fleeing in the opposite direction if something bigger and scarier than a rabbit showed up. Her battered rabbit friend struggled to its feet, but not without gazing up at her in silent awe. Capsule squeezed her eyes shut as she charged towards the mother rabbit, parting her lips once more to growl "Mrgrgr!" She swung blindly at the rabbit, striking nothing but air for her first few swings. The ones that followed, however, rewarded her with a connection to something solid, yet soft. Capsule's growl turned into a squeak of disgust as she tore through muscle and struck bone. This was really gross. "C-come on! You have to help me out here!" The little rabbit shuddered and shambled over to her side. Its health was past the midway point by now, and would die if either of them were not careful. Duke shrieked out in annoyance and dug his talons into Capsule's armor and skin. It was cheap cloth, so it did not provide much coverage. "Ow! Duke! Be gentler, please. That still hurts, you know." The owl gave a hoot (not in the way she would have liked), and hopped down from her shoulder before she could react. "Duke - no!"The mother rabbit backed away as the little owl glided down with the aid of its good wing. Once he was settled on the ground below, Duke lifted his wing and began beating it around the rabbit's head. The older rabbit backed away further, obviously annoyed with the bird's antics. This left an opening for the younger rabbit. Sounds of keening filled the air as the older rabbit was forced into submission; both by the younger rabbit and Capsule's blade. Duke, having done his part, simply stood back to watch. It wasn't much of a battle, though. Capsule's kukri was a level ten weapon, after all. What was a simple battle to someone else was an ordeal for poor Capsule, who collapsed upon the ground beside Duke. The owl hooted, and then leaned to the side to gently nip at her ear. "Bah." She rested her arms on something furry and warm laying on her stomach. The young rabbit was trembling; fear seemed like a safe assumption. 'Now, how do I domesticate it?' Did she just have to continue showing kindness to the rabbit? The rabbit that needed a name. "Hmm…" Her Frenmic Rabbit statue was already named Hazel. "Oh, I know! Fiver. Your name can be Fiver." Fiver stopped trembling for a moment, and crept higher up on her chest. The rabbit regarded her with large, brown eyes as it tilted its head to the side. "You like that, huh?"The rabbit lightly rumbled as she carefully cradled it and rose to a crouching position. Duke scrambled into her lap and leapt onto her arm, and immediately made his way to her shoulder. "I'll take you both home and have your wounds treated, alright?" The rabbit - Fiver - rumbled again. It was a decidedly weak rabbit, but then his namesake was not much of a fighter, either. Fiver had visions and forewarned Hazel and the rest of their group of danger. Perhaps this little guy could do the same.
