Fortunately, Icyferno's dilemma was resolved by none other than the cause of said dilemma. The «Swamp Crocodile» lurched forward for another bite at him, its tail swinging to the side as it did so.
He didn't need to be a genius to know that it was going to feint him with the bite. He stepped back, out of range of the crocodile's jaws, and raised his swords to block the incoming strike from its tail. The crocodile's jaws snapped inches from him and retreated just as its tail swung in from the side as it twisted its body to put its momentum into its tail. He grunted as the tail struck his swords, its scales sliding over them with a rattling noise.
He countered with the sword closest to the crocodile, which grazed the «Swamp Crocodile» as it slid off its head. If he were more experienced, he would have taken the opportunity to chain his counter into a skill to finish it off, but he leaped back to avoid any further attacks from the «Swamp Crocodile», his back coming up to the wall.
He was certain that he could take down the «Swamp Crocodile» with two more hits, but he was unable to spot any openings with his untrained eye. His cooldowns were almost completed; if he could stall for enough time, perhaps he could rush it with «Fold Step» and end the fight with «Dart-Tack Target».
His plan set, he began to inch to the side, moving past the wooden door which was creaked open to reveal a few fearful eyes looking through it. He didn't blame them. Crocodiles weren't exactly the cutest creatures; they frightened him just as much as them. It was only their presence that gave him the courage to fight.
